There was a hush in the scattered voices as the young woman slowly made her entry through the sliding door to the class room. Her blue eyes narrowed and cast down...looking fully Wine colored hair was long and practically floweed behind her as she moved, and draped over her curvacious form when still. The very sight of her was breath taking blended with a air of mysterious...
She was beautiful...alluring and yet strange. The kind of presence that drew your attention and pulled you in and yet made your body freeze in place with nerves.
"Ah, glad to see you could make it." The teacher said with a sigh of relief, Though I must say, to be so late on your first day is not a good look for you...Ms. Miyaki, I assume?"
"OoOoOoOoOoH~!" followed by the multitudes of laughter and snickering.
"That's enough now." said the teacher tapping his desk to get the voices to simmer down before continuing, "Since it is your first day, I will chock it up to you being new for now, and leave it at that."
"Yes, I understand..." she spoke up gently in the softest voice, I assure you, there's a good reason though-"
"Reason or not does not excuse you to to be late to my class often." said the teacher with a gentle huff.
"That aside...would you care to introduce yourself to the class."
"I- But-"
"Take your time and tell us about yourself."
"Ah...yes sir..."
Shamefully she hung her head, a dusting of crimson to her cheeks as the students all took to a fit of giggling while she tried to retain her breaths.
"My name is Shizuka, Miyaki." She said calmly, "And it's very nice to meet all of you..."
There were a few students however..., a small group of friends, that didn't take part in the snickers.
"That's right...I had heard we were getting another transfer in today...I was wondering about them...I guess this is her." said Yugi.
"Shizuka...kinda weird isn't she?" Joey mumbled.
"Oh please, as though YOU'RE normal, Joey." Tristan scoffed."
"You guys are really rude! Shh!" Tea hushed them.
"Yeah come on guys, everyone has their own troubles, you know." said Bakura.
He was the most recent transfer before her...
His presence was similar ito Shizuka's in the sence that it too held an air of mystery...
While he spoke in her defense, his eyes seemed fixated and hyper focused on her, following her every move she made as she weaved between the desks trying to find the open seat she is supposed to take...
And it wasn't just him who noticed her either.
She noticed him too.
It was like a pulse. A powerful pull that mae her heart constrict and forced her gaze to meet his. For a while they stare, each locked onto the other's gaze in a silence while the room around them seemed to fade away...
Everyone around them disappeared and it was only them on a whole other plane from the current reality they shared. Together in the calm of a storm of light and shadows that twiste and wove together in sensual wave like- motions...providing a sense of clarity and mystery... Comfart and unease. Familiarity...and fear.
"Bakura's right." said Yugi, a voice that broke through their dissociative moemnt, bringing them back to the room, each one blinking their vision back to normality, breathless while still holing their gazes, hearing the other's speak- yet not seeing them, as they only focused on one another with a question in their eyes.
"I bet she's nice if we just take the chance to talk to her."
"Yeah...IF she gives us the chance to talk to her..." Joey mumbled and Tristan nodded in agreement.
Her eyes softened and averted their gaze once more as the words hit her ears and che cleared her throat, as though gathering the attention of the group that sat together and yet didn't seem to notice her there as she spoke.
"Is...this seat taken?"
Yugi couldn't help a sheepish smile when his two friens both looked up startled and flustered having feeling both embarasse and terrified that they were caught in their gossio about her while she was right in their presence all along-
How did they not notice her!?
Though they weren't completely off- base.
Shizuka really didn't seem like one for much talking or socializing...
But someone still wanted to try.
"Not at all." said Bakura, offering up the seat beside him, "That one is open, you're welcome to it."
Maybe she was just shy...
Seeing as she was new and all...
Despite the way she stood out and could claim the attention of an entire room full of people, it seemed she, just as easily, could slip by unnoticed...
Completely ignoring the gossip that was just spoken about her moments ago by the surrounding group she now sat with...

"Ms. Shizuka!" A soft accented fellow approached the girl during the recess as she hid away by the vending machince sipping her matcha.
She blinked and gave a slight glance to acknowledge the voice who called to her.
"Oh, hey you're...?" the words stumbled out softly-
"Bakura Ryou..." he smiled as he handed her a second matcha-
She appeared to be finishing her first one.
"I'm a transfer too." he stated, "I came in not long before you actually..." he chuckled, "So...if you need a friend...you have one in me." he smiled.
Shizuka froze on him for a while...feeling her heart pulsate and twist in her chest. There was something about this boy...
Something both familiar and comforting...and yet terrifying all at the same time...
She couldn't point her finger on the reasons as to why...
After all she has never met this boy before today when she claimed the seat next to him in the class room.
She recalled feeling this way about him there too...
Ryou Bakura was a new student like her, and was already making an impression on the girls at school...
Not that Shizuka could blame them, even she found him to be rather handsome.
Perhaps it was due to him being foreign...who's to say?
But as popular as he was already...he was talking to her, and Shizuka hadn't the foggiest why...or how it seemed to come so naturally to them both to converse.
"Ah...what's this?" She asked softly as he handed over a notebook."
"These are the notes you missed while you were running late today." he said to her softly, "I copied some for you, so you wouldn't fall behind."
"I see..." she said softly, "Thank you..."
A commotion began from outside the classroom.
"Looks like Yugi and Joey are going to duel again!" they muttered, "Let's go watch."
"Ah- Yugi and Joey are at it again, I see." Bakura chuckled and turned to her, this time offering out his hand, "Come on then, want to come watch?"
"Oh- Ah..." she blushed softly. She thought for a moment, about taking it, but in a matter of moments, decided against it.
A pulsation in her chest pushed her from the thought...
After all...she didn't even know this boy.
And yet, an inkling of disappointment lingered...
As despite going against it, for whatever reason, every fiber in her body really wanted to take it...and more...
"No...that's okay." she said softly, "I actually have somewhere I need to be soon...I wouldn't want to get lost in the rush and forget about my appointment."
"Oh...I see." Bakura's hand twitched and he gave a soft sigh while pulling away his hand.
"No, I suppose you're right, we indeed wouldn't want that, would we?" he said and granted her a soft smile, though, he too, seemed disappointed, "Though Ms. Shizuka...pardon my saying so- but you look fairly exhausted." he said to her, "Do try to take care of yourself, hm?"
She couldn't help herself, feeling a soft heat in her cheeks.
It wasn't often that anyone showed much kindness to her...
Yet something about his kindness...also felt...selfish...for reasons unclear to her.
"I will..." she said softly, "Thank you for the notes."
Bakura didn't say anything after that. He just simply smiled at her, appreciating her gratitude while he watched her an walk away. Eyes boring onto her until she was no longer in sight.

Bakura did wind up joining the pow-wow surrounding around Yugi and Joey as they played a card game.
Duel Monsters.
Yugi seemed to be teaching Joey how to play, and the blonde was catching on fairly quickly...however, while everyone was getting excited watching the small student crush the tall blonde in another round, Bakura's head wasn't really on the game. Instead...it was focused on the girl he spoke with earlier that day...
The Geek.
The Freak.
The Girl That Has No Friends...
The very same girl that he caught through the class room window, all but running her way out of the school gate.
"Huh?" Bakura blinked as he continued to watch her, "Where is she going so fast? And...why is she in such a hurry?"
He wondered this out loud- though no one heard him.
That was the thing with Bakura.
He could be the center of everyone's attention, but at the same time, he can be just as invisible. Similar to her...
It made slipping away unnoticed a fairly easy feat.
Where is she going?
He wondered as he followed from a safe distance behind.
He kept his distance, so she wouldn't notice him, with curiosity as his compass, he followed her all the way to her destination...that of which, took him by surprise.
A soft gasp of shock and awe escaped him as he watched her wander into the looming building before her.
"Why on earth...would Ms. Shizuka, be rushing off to a Hospital...?"
