" My name is Percy, Percy Jackson. So Annabeth have you ever heard of the Greek Pantheon? It contains legends or myths known by many and was widely considered to be ruled by gods. Specifically gods like Zeus, Hades,Poseidon..., and many more. Heroes like Jason, Perseus, Achilles, andHercules. Also has many monsters like Medusa, the hydra, Cerberus, and the minotaur?"
"Kind of I've heard of them but I don't know anything about them, why does that matter there are only myths they're not real the gods like Athena, Artemis, and Zeus are not real".
I laughed, "See I used to think that too well kind of not really but you get the point. Anyway, I am not sure how to ease into this so I'm going to be blunt, they do exist. The Greek world is real and you're part of it. The gods, monsters, heroes, and stories are all real. I know that this might come as a shocker and you might not believe me but I promise you what I am saying is the truth. I am a demigod just like you, with ADHD, and dyslexia and well I have a very complicated backstory but I also did not know my other parent". As I told her I could see the gears turning in her head.
"They are real? I am a demigod? Who's my parent? What has that have to do with my parents, my ADHD and dyslexia?"
"Well they in fact are real. Yes you are a demigod. I know who your parent is but I do not know if it would be in my best interest to tell you at this moment. This has to do with your parents because this thing called ancient laws was made by Zeus king of the gods it prevents interference form the gods to their kids and while it may not benefit the demigods by any means that is what Zeus ordered. Your ADHD and dyslexia are because of fighting monsters, reading Greek and basically it just kind of comes with being a demigod(A/N if this is not right just tell me I'll fix my misinformation).I know this is a lot to take in but it is best that you learn this now".
"Oh okay well that makes some sense. The ancient laws seem pointless and just bad. But why can't you tell me. I guess I just have to figure it out myself which should not be hard". She replied
"Well my dad is in the picture, so it is a female most likely an Olympian because you know who it is and i doubt you know many minor gods that could be my mother. It is not Demeter because I feel no connection to plants. Not Hera cause she is the goddess of marriage and would not cheat, defiantly not Aphrodite because I have a strong disliking to wanting make up and stuff not Hestia because she's a virgin goddess same applies to Artemis, that leaves... Athena but she's also a virgin goddess but I've heard myths on how Athena can have brain children just like how she was born from Zeus and that would explain my eyes". She finished triumphantly, she's definitely a child of Athena really smart for being so young.
I was left with my mouth opened, "How? You're really smart I guess there is no point in lying but how do you know so much of the mythology? I thought you believed it to be a myth and to answer yes you are a child of Athena".
"My dad he enjoyed Greek mythology and taught me a lot about it which also makes sense now on why he loved Athena and always commented on her beauty well this was before Helen really came into play". She replied sadly.
"So Percy you said your parents were complicated what did you mean by that?
"Well Annabeth I guess because you told me your past I guess I should do the same. It started in a forest.
2 days later
Percy POV
Me and Annabeth were at a comfortable silence while walking were still pretty far from our checkpoint in Philadelphia a few days out but it probably will take a week and a half, honestly me and Annabeth aren't in the best shape I think the only reason we are both making it this far is our weirdly good ability to charm people into helping us by giving us food and stuff.
We've hardly ran into many monsters just small ones like hell hounds and a few other small monsters nothing too big and nothing we can't handle Dad gave me a sword it wasn't the best sword but it was just for training and killing monsters. I've had a lot of fun so far I'm glad Annabeth joined me it would have been extremely lonely without her even if I might've been faster alone her here for some reason makes me happy.
While deep in my thoughts I heard a really big noise coming from the forest area that we were in all of a sudden a massive blue snake with orange dots in the middle of its back. The snake had to be 20 feet long maybe more. It sprang from the bushes and starred hissing at us with its massive fangs and bright orange eyes. The trees and animals must have kept it under cover I wonder what this creature could be though.
"Percy!" My dad all but yelled in my head, "that thing is kasaka a very powerful and ancient snake it was said to rival python in size maybe not in sheer strength but still a power opponent non the less, be careful son good luck".With that he was gone
"Annabeth! Be careful this thing is dangerous use your dagger that I have to try and defend yourself I'll do my best to keep it distracted!", I yelled to her.
Right as I finished those words the snake lunged at me with its massive fangs dripping poison. If those touch me I will be in very bad shape. I dogged to the right of it with my sword in hand as it lunged forward at me I moved to the side and tried to parry its attack as best as possible. I tried to slash at it but its skin seemed impenetrable. I rolled out of the way to avoid its fangs.
The fight has been going on for nearly fifteen minutes Annabeth was getting very tired trying to avoid and attack the snake. It's skin was as hard as steel and my sword I felt like it was close to breaking the metal would bend and crack under the weight of my slashes. With ever hit my sword cracked more and more. I couldn't keep going for much longer. As it lunged forward again I side Streep's it ready to give it another slash.
However, I wasn't its target it passed me up and went straight towards Annabeth. All of a sudden I heard a horn blow from the distance wondering who that could be I looked over and saw women dressed in all silver I wasn't the only one distracted though the snake, Kasaka moved its head in that direction then a volley of arrows came from the group of women onto the snake. As it was distracted I knew my best change was to pierce its head while it was distracted with my remaining ape every and strength I jumped on its body and ran across it to its head jumping and angled my sword down with all my force I drove it in to the head of the monster finally killing it.
I later down on the ground exhausted and in pain. Annabeth came running up to me asking me if I'm okay and I responded to her with a nod. As I was laying on the ground with Annabeth the group of girls in silver came up to us. Each of them has a look some sort of mix f disgust or hatred mixed with their already cold and unforgiving eyes.
"Who are you guys?" Annabeth asked quietly.
I looked at the girl leading the pack she has silver eyes, auburn hair and seemed to be the leader. Where have I heard this before... Silver eyes group of girls then it dawned on me.
I immediately stood up with all the energy I had bowing my head I said, "Hello Lady Artemis, what brings you to these woods with us". I also nudges Annabeth to get up and follow my lead.
"HelloBoy, I am surprised you know who I am but anyways I'm here to kill that snake but I guess you guys got to it before we did or well it got to you". Sue replied coldly.
"Oh um well okay, is there anything we can do for you guys?" I tried to ask as politely as I could. I did not want to get on her bad side.
"Wellboy, who are you and what are you guys doing out here alone?" She asked harshly.
"Well Lady Artemis my name is Percy, Percy Jackson this is my friend and companion Annabeth Chase we are currently going to camp half blood my farther send me to reach there for a quest of his". I replied honestly knowing lying wouldn't get me nowhere plus she's Apollo's sister not sure if the god of truth thing applies but better be safe than sorry.
"Hm interesting who is your father and a came do you mean camp half blood?"
"Well Lady Artemis , my dad is Hades, he sent me in this quest to begin my training. I met annabeth a few days ago she was a run away and I knew I couldn't just leave her there especially when I knew she was a demigod".
"That is admirable of you, son of Hades you say I must report this to father immediately he must know of your existence".
"No, please ong dad wants to keep me a secret as long as he can. I have shared this knowledge with you hoping that I can trust you and thst you will not go tell your father information about me".
"Boyyou do not tell me what to do but fine I will not I can tell you have a mission you need to do and as seen here you saved this little girl a few days ago I will leave you be".
As she finished that sentence Annabeth came over hugging me from the side.
"Percy they're asking me weird questions" she said pointing to the girls," they asked if you hurt me or made me do any weird things. I don't know what they mean you've only been a friend for me. Annabeth told me while still hugging me from the side.
"Dear my girls were just trying to make sure that theboydid not do anything wrong, I would also like to offer you a chance to become one of us. We are a group of girls that hunt monsters we just don't like or talk to men, they are disgusting pigs that we cannot tolerate". Artemis said looking at Annabeth.
I expected her to fully be on bored but she caught me by surprise. "No", she said "That means I have to leave my Percy hew my only friend I have. I'm not leaving him for anything". I don't know why but I felt touched she thought that of me.
"Are you sure, I'll only offer this one more time, you can come join us train learn how to be strong withoutmales".Artemis again told Annabeth.
She immediately shook her head no.
"Very well if that is what you desire we are off you killed the snake it's your rewards I won't tell anyone about this meeting until we meet again". She said as her and her girls turned around and walked into the distance of the forest.
Well that sure was an experience I told Annabeth that it's time to set up camp and call it a night I'll quickly harvest our kill and then I'll go to bed.
After the snake was all harvested I went to the nearest river which wasn't far and I washed myself and my clothes then went to my tent and slowly drifted off to sleep.
2 weeks later
Annabeth's POV
It has been two weeks since I met Percy, he is really sweet, caring, talkative and makes me feel like I am somebody. When I was with my dad days would go by without anyone talking to me outside maybe the dinner table. Now though with Percy I exist, we are on an adventure to this camp for demigods. Percy has been explaining to me all about the Greek Patheon, from which gods do what to all sorts of monsters.
Speaking of monsters we've run into a lot of them because of our scent. Apparently scent is like a smell that demigods emit that lure monsters towards us like worms for fish. After we met the goddess Artemis we've just been traveling North East. Going through forest and cities for awhile. We've been trying to avoid as many people as we can. We've tried to avoidmajor cities like the plague but overall it's been really fun. Percy even gave me this pair of twin daggers that he made from killing the snake Kasaka and one using this metal from the underworld.
A/N IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW
They are really cool Percy said these are a gift from him and his dad Hades. Speaking of those two I can't believe Percy went through all that his poor mom but I'm glad he found a real family I hope I can find one too.(Foreshadowing? 0_0)I love traveling with Percy currently we are in Philadelphia about three days from where we need to go. I can't wait I just hope Percy will stay with me I don't want to be alone again not now not ever.
Percy POV
Me and Beth currently are here in Philadelphia dad said we are three days from the camp that we need to go to. Apparently we've been really slow traveling but Beth is only 7 with no experience at least I have a little bit of experience with the limited training my dad gas taught me and the extremely limited amount of conditioning. Momsie and Mom always told me I was too young to wait till I'm older.
"So, Beth what are your plans on when we arrive at this camp? I told you how I'm going back home Dad wants me to begin my training as soon as I make it to the camp boarders". I asked her.
"Well um... I- I want to stay with yo-" she didn't get to finish whatever she was saying as I quickly grabbed her and dove to the ground as an spear whizzed past us.
Immediately I was on guard someone clearly was trying to kill us. Just then someone dashed out of the bushes with a sword in hand. He immediately came for me I quickly unsheathed my sword that was attached to my right side of my hip. I met his slash with a slash of my own. As he went into hit me I parried his blow, he began to recklessly try to get a good hit on me with me parring every one of his attacks. After a minute or so he soon realized his efforts were futile. He most likely mustered what energy he had left and tried to go for my torso but I blocked and then spun my sword around his to send his flying. I quickly moved my sword to his neck.
However my victory was short lived as the other person grabbed her spear and tried to lunge at me. Didn't she see her partner just do the exact same thing and that resulted in his loss? Either way I immediately moved my sword to block hers. As she charged at me I side stepped and quickly grabbed the middle of her spear, quickly yanking it I made her unbalanced. Then again put my sword to her neck.
"Yield, you've lost now who are you guys, why did you attack us?"
Getting a better look at them. One was a guy blonde hair, blue eyes he was somewhat tall seemed to be older too. He had this weird aura to him like I could exactly trust him. And the other was a girl, spiky black hair and very bright electric blue eyes. She seemed around a year or two older than us.
They didn't say anything the first time. Can't they see they lost? There's no point in trying to play tough guy when you lost so easily. They were extremely uncoordinated and seemed subpar using their weapons, a sword and spear respectively.
"Who are you and why did you guys attack us" I asked them again, my annoyance clearly reflected in my voice.
They guy moved up to look at me was he finally gonna man up and answer my questions?
"My name is Luke and this, this is Thalia".
