"So…you can create magical spells?" Violette asked, eyes narrowing.

"Oui! See? I knew you'd get it!" Jolie said excitedly, seeming to pay no attention to the doubt in Violette's voice. Lila, who was sitting on the floor, slowly sat on the bed with them and felt Jolie's forehead.

"Lila, what are you doing?" Jolie asked.

"Making sure you're not crazy," Lila replied, lifting her hand away. Jolie's face fell.

"Wait…you don't believe me?" Jolie asked.

"Well…you see…" Violette started.

"What is going on!?" A voice called out from the door. They turned to see Natalie, her fists curled, "Jolie, I told you not to tell anyone!" She said, making her way to them, "Why? Why did you tell them?"

"Natalie, they're our friends." Jolie replied calmly.

"So it was you," Violette said, pointing her finger in Natalie's direction. "You told her these lies! Why? Did you think it would make yourself feel better? Did you think you could use Jolie to your advantage? Why do you have to be such a jerk?" The room went silent. All the Papillonlisse girls swiveled their heads to look at them.

"We don't need to fight…" Jolie said, less confidently. "We are all friends," She said to them, and to herself. "…we are-"

"No." Natalie said. "No matter how hard you try, or how hard you push us, you will never get them to be friends with me. Ever. I have no idea, what fantasy world you're living in, where everyone is friends, and everyone gets along perfectly, because that will never happen here at Beauxbatons. And you know what? I will never want to be friends with some auto-ayant droit morveux qui me détestent!" The others gasped. Natalie turned around and stormed out of the dorm.

Jolie looked down at the floor.

"Jolie, you don't have to listen to her," Violette said. But Jolie didn't hear her. "Jolie?"

"I'm…just going to go and uh…do…something." Jolie stuttered. Then, she gathered her notebook and a quill, and took off running.

When she arrived to the bathroom, she ran inside and sat down in a stall. Then they fell, her tears. She cried for Natalie, who was hated by all those other girls. She cried for all the other girls, who felt like Natalie was so mean. And even though she didn't want to…she cried for herself, and how she was so stuck in the middle, with no way out.

I'm an Enchanter, she reminded herself. Then out loud, "I am an Enchanter."

She opened her notebook and took her quill.

The Latin root for friend: Amicus.

A Latin word for become is: Fiet.

So that would mean…Fiemicus. Become Friends. I need to cast it on someone while they are looking at the person I want them to be friends with. She quickly wrote it down.

Then the page glowed gold and the ink went blacker.

Yes.

"Hey Violette!" Jolie called in the hallway. "Do you want to walk to our next class together?" Violette turned around, and a sign of relief crossed her face when she saw Jolie was her cheery self once more.

"Of course Jolie! How are you doing?" She asked in return.

"Oh I'm fine! I just needed a breather! Can we stop by the bathroom first? I'm busting." Violette looked at Jolie funny.

"Alright then. I guess we can." She replied. What harm could it do?

"Here we are," Jolie said pushing the door open to reveal the bathroom. In the bathroom, arms crossed, was Natalie.

"Of course," Natalie said, eyes narrowing at Violette. "I should have known you were setting us up. First things first: I'm not apologizing to Violette, or any of the others."

"Well," Violette began, walking up to Natalie, index finger raised, "I think you should at least apologize to Jolie of all people!" She stopped when she was dangerously close to Natalie.

"For what?" Natalie said, taking a step closer. This is my chance, thought Jolie. She discreetly raised her wand, pointing it at Violette.

"For lying to her-"

"Fiemicus," The argument paused. Violette closed her eyes, while Natalie shifted her gaze to Jolie.

"Jolie, what did you do?" Natalie said. Violette opened her eyes. Her eyes watered.

"Oh Natalie…I'm so sorry." Natalie recoiled. Violette continued, tears streaming down her face, "I should have stopped to listen to hear your side of the story, and I shouldn't have misunderstood you so much," She turned to look at Jolie, "Jolie, I'm so sorry I got you involved, I should have known how stuck you are between us, and-and…" She stopped short, and her crying elevated to sobbing. To everyone's surprise, she leaped forward and thrust her hands around Natalie.

"It's…Okay Violette. Now can you give me a few minutes to talk to Jolie?" Natalie said, trying to pry her off. Violette nodded, brushing tears from her face. Natalie flashed a fake smile and took Jolie by the shoulders, when they went into one of the stalls, Natalie's smile melted.

"What were you thinking!? Spelling Violette? Making another spell? Telling everyone about it?" Jolie's shoulders slumped. "Jolie listen to me. I know I flew off the handle in their, but I am trying to save your life! What you did was illegal! If the wrong person found out-the consequence could be fatal!" Jolie stood in silence. Processing Natalie's words.

"You…what do you mean…saved my life?" She stuttered.

"You didn't read the whole article I gave you did you now?"

A History Of Enchanters

Enchanters are a group of Wizards that have been creating, or "Enchanting" Spells for centuries. French Enchanters had especially making powerful spells. Nicholas Flamel was France's most powerful, with his most famous creation, the Philosopher's Stone. But in 1990, an evil wizard came to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in attempt to steal the Philosophers Stone. After this, France was aware that their Enchanters were to powerful, so they made the law to ban Enchanting. What used to be a praised talent, is now a curse that if used, can be punishable by death.

"Punishable…by…by…"

"Death," Natalie said, looking at Jolie's pale face. "I know it doesn't make sense, but France wanted to do what they could to protect people. Think about all the bad things Enchanters are capable of doing." Jolie thought for a moment.

"So…I shouldn't do it?"

"Yes."

"What if someone's life is in peril?"

"Then you can I guess."

"What if I only use the spells I already created?"

"No. No one will recognize them."

"Am I being annoying when I ask all these questions?"

"No," Natalie put the history book back into her bag and took Jolie's hands. "Jolie, this is a confusing time for you. You discovered that something is a part of you that you have never known before. Trust me, if you ask questions, I will never tell you to stop questioning me, or that you're annoying, or that I don't care, I'll be here for you. Every step of the way."

"Natalie?"

"Yes?"

"This is why I'm friends with you." Natalie smiled at Jolie, and the two friends embraced.

"One other thing."

"What?" Natalie took a step back to look at her best friend.

"We're having a sentimental moment in a bathroom."

"Oh yeah," Natalie chuckled. "We are."

"Wait, Violette!" Jolie exclaimed, fearful of the outcome of her spell.

"Leave it to me," Natalie said confidently.
