Gotham 99 Season 1 Ep1 Part 1
Pilot
We come to Gotham City, a city known to be a magnet for crime but over the years it has been contained by increase of Police stations. We follow one such station known as the 99th Gothem Precinct.
We see staring right at the the read was a white and silver drone with purple LED eyes and hair wearing a black striped beanie with a glittery bobble at the tip, and black boots with long, dark purple light purple striped socks. She also wears a black hoodie with a white emblem on the front depicting a battery with two bones going across it, creating an "X" shape. The bottom of the hoodie has two white stripes wrapping around it, and the left sleeve has a white Secchi disk symbol on it. The hoodie also has black fur around the bottom and the collar. She also has a black choker around her neck with a skull and the number "002" on it. She was known as Uzi Doorman. Around her neck was a chain with a police badge on it revealing she is a detective
"This job is eating me alive." Uzi said to the reader as we see her getting out of a car and walking into a crime scene which was an electronics store. "I can't breath anymore. I spent all these years trying to be the good guy, the drone in the white hat. I'm not becoming like them. I am them."
"Hey! What are you doing weird bot?" A female voice called out, it was from another drone a bit taller then her. She has neon yellow eyes. She has silver hair styled in high twin pigtails, tied with black ribbons. Like other Disassembly Drones, she has a black headband adorned with five additional neon yellow eyes. Her attire consists of a short-sleeved black dress with side pockets, a black leather belt, and a black tie over a dark yellow collared shirt. She also wears knee-high stockings with visible suspenders. On her left bicep, she wears a yellow armband marked with a skull emblem. She was Serial Designation J, a fellow detective and Uzi's partner for this current case.
Uzi was revealed to be standing in front of a camera with many TV's hooked to it's feed as she explained "I'm doing my own take of the best speech from Soldier 76. Or actually, 10 of me are doing an own take on the best speech of Soldier 76." She grins at the camera "What's up?"
"Get it together, alright. Okay?" J said annoyed. She then turns back to the store owner and looks at her notes "So the store was hit about two hours ago. They took mostly tablets, laptops and cameras."
Just then a keyboard is heard making an 80's hip hop beat and J looks to see Uzi was the one messing with it. Uzi stops the music and said "Sorry."
J sighs and looks at the store owner and said "I'd like a list of all your employees, whoever had access to the store. I'd also like to apologize for my partner, her parents didn't give her enough attention."
"Uh, detective…I already solved the case." Uzi said to J. "We're looking for three Anthro males, one of whom has tribal tats on both arms."
"And how do you know that?" J asked approaching her.
"I had an informant on the inside." Uzi told her "He's been here for years. Watching, learning, waiting. His code name?" She then reaches and pulls from the shelf a Pikachu looking cuddly "Fuzzy Cuddlechu." She grins as she turns it around revealing inside was camera equipment "He's a nanny cam."
J scoffs at this and said, "You got lucky."
"No, I got here five minutes before you and figured in this giant electronics store, there had to be at least one working camera." Uzi said set up to view the recording and they look on the TV's to see the three Anthro thieves "Oh, hi bad guys" She then looks at the Pikachu "You did it Fuzzy, you busted'em. It's time to come home."
Uzi then positions the Pikachu to be in front of her face looking at J and then said as Fuzzy "I'm not sure if I can, I've been undercover for so long, I've forgotten who I am. I have seen terrible things. I haven't known the touch of a woman in many moons."
"All right." J said done humouring this and walks away.
"Detective J! Don't walk away from me!" Uzi as fuzzy called out.
We next see later Uzi and J bringing in the three perps and bring them into the precinct. Uzi smiling triumphantly as they put the criminals in the holding cell.
99th Precinct, Morning Briefing, 8:31 PM
We see all the detectives in the Briefing room as Uzi brags "Yes, I did crack the case. So J, if you would do the honors?"
J sighs as the other detectves oh in eagerness as she goes to the white board in the room and on a tally chart that red 'Uzi: 23 J: 22' She erases the 23 "I hate this."
"Ah, yeah. And you just want to add one" Uzi said with a grin as J puts in a tiny new number 24 "I'm winning. It's a good feeling. It's a good feeling." The others in the room applaud.
"Enjoy it while it lasts." J said going back to her seat.
"I will" Uzi said smiling.
Standing at a podium in the briefing room was the Sargent of the precinct. He was a red imp with white freckles on his cheeks, white pointy hair leads up to his curvy black and white striped horns. He also has yellow sclera with black slit pupils. He wore a navy-black coat with red buttons and white cuffs, black pants a white shirt that has a black turtleneck, a large red bow-tie, and fingerless gloves. He was known as Moxxie. "Uzi, update on the Hanamura murder?" He asked.
"Yeah!" Uzi said getting up from her seat and goes to the front "Good news for all you murder fans." This got a bit of a laugh "Earlier this morning…someone decided to shoot and kill luxury food importer Teruteru Hanamura." She uses the TV in the room to show the victems profile picture and pictures of the crime scene. "Body was found by the cleaning lady, during the interview, I deduced, using expert detective work, that she had something super gross on her chin." She shows the image of the gross thing on the cleaning lady's chin making the people in the room groan in disgust.
"I think it was flan." A male drone who was say next to Uzi guessed. He was the same kind as J but his silver was shorter and he wore a black winter coat with a fur collar and a black belt, along with a black pilot hat with a skull insignia. he also accessories a yellow armband that has a skull label on it on his left bicep. He was Serial Designation N, Uzi's best friend in the precinct.
"N thinks it was flan, I think it was butterscotch pudding." Uzi said shrugging.
"Maybe it's just old person gunk." A female voice said belonging to a woman with grayish-lavender skin with light pink sclera and an ivory iris eyes and greyish-white short bob hair and she wore a silver, black and white like outfit. She was Vaggie an angel detective. She explained her guess saying "You know how old people always have that gunk on them."
"Oldie gunk, could be, yeah." Uzi said with a nod. "Anyone else?"
"How about we focus on the murder and not the old person gunk?" Moxxie said to everyone. Uzi goes to sit down.
"Crime techs are at the scene now, we're heading back when they're done." J tells Moxxie.
"Okay, I want you on this." Moxxie tells the squad and explains "It's going to be priority one for the new C.O."
"Wait, tell us about the new captain." Vaggie asked as everyone begins to stand.
"Captain Vrak will be here soon. He'll want to introduce himself." Moxxie tells them. "Dismissed."
Everyone begins to leave to head back to their desks.
We come back to a bit later, sitting at they're desk was a drone similar to Uzi but with long blond hair, a pink bow with pink LED eyes and a red hard har and red uniform of a cheerleader, with an off-the-shoulder crop top lined with yellow on the bottom and a skirt with a band. She also appears to have a black tank top underneath. She was Lizzy, the 99's civilian administrator.
N approaches her and sits at the seat near her desk and said "Hey, Lizzy. You know any Scalpers? I want to ask Vaggie to go to the Hatsume Miku concert with me, but it's sold out."
"Okay, two points to make here." Lizzy tells him "First, Miku…You…and then, Miku."
"Yeah. What's your second point?" N asked at that.
"She's got a type. Which is really anyone but you." Lizzy told him.
"Yeah, that was my ex-wife's type too." N said sighing.
"Look, a Hatsume Miku concert's a pretty big swing, man." Lizzy tells him and N nods "I don't know. She's into watching old movies."
"Cool. Where would I find a place that shows old movies?" N asked her.
"Oh, yeah, just go on the internet and search for the phrase 'I want to buy two movie tickets for a girl who doesn't like me.'" Lizzy tells him.
"Great. Thank you." N said getting up to leave.
"Good" Lizzy saiud.
A bit later J goes to Uzi's desk which is across from hers and asked her "Hey, you heard anything about the new captain?"
"Uh, no and I don't care." Uzi tells her "I just wish Captain Port never left; he was the best."
"He was terrible." J states and added "You just liked him because he let you do anything you wanted."
We then flash back to some time in the past where Uzi and Vaggie were into two wheelie chairs both holding a fire extinguisher each as the rest of the detectives and police watch with eagerness.
"On your marks, get set…" Uzi said smiling
All of a sudden the door to the captain's office opens and a man with a white mustache comes out, he was Captain Port who asked confused "What the heck's going on around here?"
"Fire extinguisher roller chair derby." Uzi said concerned.
"Okay." Port said nodding and goes back into his office.
"And go." Lizzy said and everyone cheers as Uzi and Vaggie do the race.
We return to the present where Uzi asked, "What's your point?"
J sighs and said "If I'm ever going to make captain, I need a good mentor. I need my rabbi."
"Sorry, pal…But this new guy's regardless of their race and origins going to be another washed-up pencil pusher who's only concerned with…" Uzi said then imitates a stereotype robot saying "Following every rule in the patrol guide. Meep, morp, zeep. Robot captain engage." J smirks as everyone stands looking at Uzi concerned as that is cause someone just arrived as she was doing that.
"Is that what you think?" A male voice said getting Uzi's attention as she a black alien cyborg with blue lines, blue eyes wearing golden armour with black armoured boots. He also had emblems of the GCPD on the armoru and a matching hat. He was Vrak the new captain.
"He-hey!" Uzi said awkwardly as she stands up. "New captain alert." She laughs nervously "You must be the new C.O. I'm Detective Uzi Doorman. Great to meet you."
"No, don't let me interrupt." Vrak said to her "You were describing what kind of person I was going to be. I want you to finish."
"That's not necessary." Uzi said but sees Vrak intensely staring at her. "Or I could recap very quickly, sure." J grins watching Uzi like this "Um, let's see. I think I said some joke about being a washed-up pencil pusher."
"Now do the robot voice." Vrak tells her.
"Which…" Uzi said.
"The robot voice you were doing when you implied I'm a rule-following robot." Vrak explained. "I want to hear it again."
"Meep, morp….zarp. Robot." Uzi said awkwardly and not as well as before.
"For a drone that is a terrible robot voice." Vrak told her,
"Yep." Uzi said nodding in agreement.
"The next time I see you, I'd like you to be wearing a necktie." Vrak said before heading to his new office.
"Oh, actually, the last captain didn't care if we wore ties." Uzi points out to him.
"Well your new captain does." Vrak said looking at her "And more importantly, he cares that you follow his direct orders." He then addresses the room saying "Everyone, I'm your new commanding officer, Captain Vrak."
"Speech!" J said smiling.
"That was my speech." Vrak told her.
"Short and sweet." J said smiling and gives a thumbs up
"Sergeant Moxxie, a word." Vrak said and motions to Imp to come with him into his office.
"Yes, sir." Moxxie said as he follows.
J sighs and said to Uzi smiling "I love that guy."
"Same!" Uzi said sarcastically.
"He's so suave." Lizzy said with a smile then asked "Does anyone get a little bit of an inter-species with humans vibe?" Everyone just states at her "No? Okay."
In the captains office, Vrak places his name plate on his desk and said to Moxxie "Sergeant, you were in the 1-8 with me…Though you were significantly…" He sits in his chair.
"Fatter, sir. They called me 'Moxxie Balloon.'" Moxxie explained "Because of my height along with being fat made me look, uh…."
"A balloon, yes. I remember." Vrak said nodding "I never liked that nickname, though to be fair it was accurate. What's this I hear about you being on administrative leave?"
Moxxie pulls out his wallet as he explains "A year ago, my wife Millie and I had twin baby girls. Vivi and Mimi." He shows a photo of two baby imp girls with black and white hair with black horns.
"They have adorable chubby cheeks." Vrak simply said.
"Ever since, I knind of got scared of getting hurt." Moxxie said putting his wallet away "Lost my edge. There was an incident in a department store."
We cut to the incident in the department store, Moxxie was with Uzi in a clothing store. Uzi notices Moxxie looking scared and asked "Hey, man, you okay? You look a little jumpy."
"I'm fine. I'm fine." Moxxie said scared. Then there was a nocie and Moxxies screams as he moves out of the hiding spot and opens fire on a mannequin till the clip was empty. The mannequin falls over onto the floor.
"I think he's dead." Uzi said to that.
We return to the present as Moxxie finishes up saying "And I'm still not right."
"Tell me about your detective squad." Vrak said getting out of his chair and they both go the window.
Moxxie clears his throat and points to three gathered, two were in armour one orange armor and the other in light blue and the last once was a girl with brown hair and glasses. "Um, well Grif, Tucker and Penny. They're pretty much worthless, but they make good coffee."
"Copy that." Vrak said nodding.
"Now for the good ones." Moxxie said pointing to Vaggie as she angrily tries to get her computer to work "Vaggie. Tough, smart, hard to read and really scary."
We come to last Christmas where Vaggie approaches Tucker and said to the blue armoured man "Tell me who has me for Secret Santa."
"No! That takes all the fun out of it." Tucker said smiling under his helmet but then sees Vaggie giving him an intense glare. "It's Grif. He got you a scarf. I'll make him return it."
"Yes, you will." Vaggie said and walks away.
Moxxie then points to N who was working hard and said "Serial Designation N. He's a grinder. Not the most brilliant detective, but he works harder than anyone else. He's not physically gifted."
We flashback to a point where N was in the kitchen area of the office unwrapping a muffin but it falls out of his hands and onto the floor.
"Oh man! My energon muffin." N said sadly and goes to pick it up but bangs head on the counter, his reaction makes him step on the muffin "Oh, My head! My muffin, my head! And I stepped on….On my muffin! And my head and my muffin!"
We then come to Moxxie point at J who was reading a case file while holding a ball of rubber bands.
Moxxie said "Serial Designation J, no relation to N. She's got seven siblings, so she's always trying to brother she's tough."
We come to J in a break room with Grif where she is applying some Energon hot sauce to her sandwich.
"Careful. That's stuff as hot as the non-energon kind." Grif tells her while doing a crossword in the paper.
"Oh, is it?" J said raising to the challenge, she takes the cap off the hot sauce and pours a lot on her sandwich then takes a bite only to immediatately regret it as she coughs as the heat of the sauce hits her.
We come back to the present as Moxxie explains to Vrak "She and Uzi have some big bet over who gets more arrests this year. Ever since the bet, their numbers have gone way up."
"Tell me about Doorman." Vrak asked him curious as he looks to Uzi who is holding and looking intently at a police anime figurine.
"Uzi Doorman is my best detective." Moxxie begins to explain "She like putting away bad guys and she loves solving puzzles. The only puzzle she hasn't solved is how to grow up."
"That was very well put." Vrak said looking at Moxxie.
"I've talked a lot about Uzi in my departmentally mandated therapy sessions." Moxxie admits.
"Look, you know my history." Vrak says to him "You know how important this is to me. This precinct is doing fine, but I want to make it the best one in Gotham. And I need your help."
"Absolutely sir." Moxxie said shaking Vrak's hand. "Where do we start?"
They look out into the main room and see Uzi dancing and whisper sings to J What is happening?
"We start with her." Vrak just simply says.
