Julianna watched the aura enveloping Quaxly seeming to invigorate him with even more fighting spirit.
She was so taken aback by it that she almost didn't see Shellder aiming another Water Gun at Quaxly.
"Counter it with Pound!" Quaxly's attack was unexpectedly strong, cutting right through the Water Gun and smacking Shellder in the face.
"Use Ember!" Fuecoco took the chance to finish off Shellder with Ember thus winning them the battle.
"Shellder is unable to battle Quaxly and Fuecoco are the winner!" Nemona announced.
"I guess I wasn't ever going to stand a chance using some Pokémon I'd only just caught" Arven scoffed
"But if you really think you can take Koraidon off my hands you'll need this" Arven flung a Pokeball to Julianna "The brute's all yours"
"Anyway he's your problem now not mine, good luck" Arven was already heading off down the path away from where they came"
"By the way, you better actually show yourself at school tomorrow!" Nemona yelled at him as he vanished from view.
"That was a great battle you guys" Ash congratulated clapping his hands.
"But there is something I wanted to ask you guys. Were you by chance the only 2 people who got starters"
"Ya there was an odd number of students and the Sprigatito would get a trainer"
"Are you the one who got that Sprigatito?" Florian blurted out.
"Yes I did and there's something I need to ask Clavell about"

So that's how they found themselves sitting in Clavell's office.
"So it appears you were correct something was up with these starters" Clavell sighed.
"Is there something wrong with them?" Julianna asked nervously tapping her finger against Quaxly's pokeball.
"No, no they are perfectly fine it's just there appears to have been a mix-up with them"
"What do you mean by mix up?" Ash asked.
"Well, it appears these 3 have hidden abilities. That might explain their unique personalities and odd occurrences you've seen in battle with them"
Julianna let the information roll over in her head. If Jair has Moxie as his ability that would explain the aura she saw around him after he knocked out Skwovet.
Plus having a rare ability would definitely boost his ego.
"There's nothing to be worried about they are perfectly normal starters aside from that but I wanted to bring you three in here for another reason" Clavell turned on the tv in the corner of his office.
"Hello Ash, Julianna, and Florian it is nice to meet you" a woman that looked to be in her early 40's greeted them.
"My name is Professor Sada I study here in the Great Crater of Paldea"
"Professor Sada is not only the finest professor in all of Paldea but also a graduate of our academy"
Ash was excited that Paldea's professor was studying the great crater.
Maybe he could get a chance to talk to her about the mysterious creatures Looker had shown them.
"Let's get straight to the point"
Dammit. He'd have to wait for now.
"You three are the ones caring for the mysterious Pokémon Koraidon is that correct?"
"Yes" all 3 of them responded.
Koraidon burst out of the Pokeball again and started pawing at the screen.
"Yes he was under my care some time ago" Sada smiled fondly.
"I haven't been able to look after and for a while he's been looked after by my son Arven"
"Ya he gave it to us he said he didn't want it anymore"
"Well, if that's the case I'm happy to give control over to you"
Koraidon whimpered and tried to paw at the screen again.
"Unfortunately I can't stay much longer I have to continue with my research" The screen faded to black leaving Koraidon looking disappointed.
"How about I take Koraidon for now?" Ash offered "You guys need to be focusing on you're schooling" he was met by nods from both of them.
Another reason he didn't want to admit was that he knew how stressful it could be to have strange Pokémon be your responsibility.
He had gone through it before and didn't want Florian and Julianna to have to deal with it.

Julianna had a weird feeling after their meeting with Clavell.
Not about Quaxly having Moxie as his ability that was fine with her.
Maybe it was just in her head but she thought Florian seemed to hesitate at keeping Fuecoco.
He hadn't said anything bad about Fuecoco but he also hadn't said anything good about it either.
Maybe she was just overthinking it but he was giving Julianna the vibe that he didn't really like Fuecoco that much.
Julianna was taken aback by the sound of someone yelling.
"Come on don't you wanna shine as bright as the rest of us"
"Not… really" a voice replied timidly.
Julianna rushed down the stairs to see two delinquent-looking students cornering a girl against the wall.
"Look kid we've got a quota to fill" the girl snapped "So if you could just get this over with and sign up that be fucking great"
"I'd… rather not" the girl replied.
Julianna knew who they were. The helmets, the sunglass the rolled-up uniforms. They were part of Team Star.
She wasn't going to let this slide.
"Hey!"
"Oh, you want to join Team Star too?" the boy asks "We've just got to finish up with this one then we'll get to ya, kay?"
"Leave the girl alone" Julianna sent out Quaxly.
The girl's eyes narrowed "So you're one of those people aren't you then Bite" The pair threw out a Shroodle and Yungoss who bit into Quaxlys wings.
"Then use Water Gun!" Quaxly pushed them off with a Water Gun.
"Sand Attack!"
"Acid Spray!"
The sand was kicked into Quaxlys eyes and then he was covered in acid by Shroodle.
Quaxly lunged forward slapping Yungoss with his wing.
"Wing Attack!" capitalizing on the new move Quaxly used it again on Shroodle.
"Bite again"
"Water Gun!" Quaxly intercepted Yungoss with a Water Gun.
"Fury Swipes" Well his back was turned Shroodle struck Quaxly down with Fury Swipes.
"Bite again!" the Team Star grunts called together.
"Dodge it!" Qauxly stepped around their teeth with fluid side steps causing them to crash into each other.
"Now Pound!" Quaxly smacked Yungoss on the back knocking it out.
That left Shroodle who was staring down Quaxly.
"What's going on here?" a green-haired boy said walking down the stairs.
"What you want a piece of us too?"
"If that's how you want it to be" the boy sent out a Gallade.
"Forget it Anna let's just get out of here" the boy yelled and the pair quickly slipped away.
"You know I could have taken them right?" Julianna said harshly.
"I'm aware but there's no point in dragging this out longer than it needs to be"
"Thank you… Julianna" the girl said.
"Of course, it was no problem"
"I got to go… now" the girl replied and tried to slip past them.
"Wait" Julianna grabbed her arm.
"Can you at least tell me your name"
"It's Penny"
"Also how'd you know my name?"
"Saw it online now can you please let go of my hand"
"Oh of course sorry if that made you uncomfortable"
"It's… fine" Penny made a swift exit.
"Now come on let's go report this to the office"
"Names Rinto by the way," the boy said when they reached the academy entrance.
"Julianna"
"You're the one with the dancing Quaxly right?"
"Yup," Julianna was slightly miffed that was the first thing that he thought about her.
"How'd you know that was happening?"
"It wasn't particularly hard to hear you're little skirmish" Rinto smirked "You wait here well I get Clavell"
"Isin't it kind of late to be talking to Clavell curfews in 15 minutes"
"Privilege of being on the student council" Rinto shut the door to Clavell's office.
Julianna heard her phone vibrate and she fished it out to see what it was.
Penny had added her on social media.
And she also got a text from Arven.
