It's early in the morning when Alicia returns from her latest weekend out traveling. She's quiet as she sneaks through the house, not wanting to wake her husband or children up as she makes her way to bed herself. She's a little keyed up, but she knows once she stretches out and absorbs Ricardo's warmth, she'll sink right into sleep.
So on she goes, lightly toeing her shoes off and stripping out of her clothes until she's more comfortable, shrugging her shoulders up to her ears and wiggling her toes into the carpet before crawling up the bed on her hands and knees.
Ricardo is laying on his stomach, breathing steadily against the pillows, and she hums, stretching out over his body and matching his inhales and exhales. Pressing a kiss to his shoulder, she hums, enjoying being home. With him once more. "Father's Day is this weekend," she muses, nuzzling closer to him. "We're going to make sure you have the best possible one, even if it's a little late."
He'll be doing his own traveling this weekend, and so they'd agreed to do a little celebration for him later once everyone's home and with enough free time to do so. He sighs softly and hums out her name, turning restlessly and squinting up at her. "You're home," he murmurs.
"Yes." She kisses him. "Sorry I woke you up."
He shakes his head, scrubbing at his face. "It's fine. I'm always happy to see you."
She smiles down at him. "The feeling's mutual." She plays with his fingers before lifting his hand up to press kisses to his knuckles. "Let's get some sleep."
"Yeah," he sighs softly, curling an arm around her and holding her close. "Love you."
She smiles into his shoulder and wiggles closer. "I love you too," she murmurs, her eyes slipping closed. As she expects, sleep takes her down within a couple of minutes, lulled by his warmth and steady breaths.
