Sofia is inside with the babies, watching to make sure they remain asleep through the fireworks that neighbors are still setting off for whatever reason all of these days later.

"Silly people," Ricardo murmurs even as he holds Andre in his lap and looks around to see if anything is visible from their little corner.

"Why are they silly, daddy?" Andre asks, peering up at him with wide, curious brown eyes.

"Well, people are usually supposed to only shoot fireworks off on the 4th," he explains, smoothing a hand down Andre's jaw. "But they continue doing it days later, especially at some really late hours, and it annoys people with little kids trying to sleep."

"Like Clara and Mariana," Andre supplies, and Ricardo chuckles.

"Yeah, like Clara and Mariana." He hesitates, tickling Andre. "And little boys, too," he teases.

"Daddy," Andre protests, squirming and giggling as finally a couple of fireworks go high enough to visible from where they're laying.

"Look, Andre," Alicia whispers, resting a hand over his tummy and looking up. "They're so pretty."

"They are, mommy," he says, eyes wide in the slowly dissipating light. "Can we have fireworks every night?"

Ricardo laughs again, kissing his forehead, before pulling away to look him in the eye. "If we did, they would lose some of their appeal, don't you think? I think they're prettier when they're only around a couple of times a year. You know?" He keeps it to himself about how wrestling uses pyro so frequently, knowing he'll figure it out when he's older.

"I guess you're right, daddy," he says with a little bit of a pout. "I still like them though."

"We do too, baby," Alicia sooths him, stroking his cheek. "But like daddy said, they are more special when we only get to see them rarely."

"Ok, mommy, but we can still enjoy them right now, right?"

"Of course, baby," she says, smiling at Ricardo as he lays back down and settles Andre down on his chest ni a good position to watch for any other stray fireworks the neighbors might set off, the two of them lacing their fingers together while they wait.
