Ok, Before we get to the fanfic proper, I just wanted to say that…I'm sorry. I'm truly, truly sorry. This was always the intended ending for this fanfic. But as I was writing the previous chapter, I realized how attached I had grown to Emi, and how she doesn't deserve what's coming next. But, the show must go on. I hope you can all forgive me for this. I'm so, so, sorry.

Spongebob and Emi lay in bed together, both cuddling the other as they giggled. Spongebob gleefully said,

"And that's when he said, "I said no Pirates!" But it turns out he was a pirate the whole time!"

Both laughed at this joke, and Spongebob then looked out the window and saw that it was dark out. He told Emi,

"Well, looks like it's time to go to sleep. Good night, Emi."

"Good night, Spongebob."

Emi then laid her head down on Spongebob's lap, curling up and closing her eyes. Spongebob smiled, placing a hand on Emi's head and closing his eyes as well. Several minutes passed, and Spongebob was fast asleep. However, Emi was taking a bit longer to go to sleep than him, so she was the only one who heard the mysterious noises coming upstairs.

She was about to get out of bed to check for what it was, but it was then that Mr Krabs gently opened the door. Emi was shocked to see her boyfriend's boss in their house wearing a ski mask and holding a piece of rope. She asked him,

"Hey, your Spongebob's boss, right? What're you-MMPH?!"

Before Emi could react, Krabs then ran at her and gagged her with a cloth he had kept in his pocket for this occasion. As Emi let out muffled shouts of confusion and fear, Krabs began ripping her kimono off. Emi's muffled shouts turned into muffled screaming, and in the midst of her kimono coming off, she instinctively reverted to her true anthro-fox form. Krabs noticed her muzzle and fur covered body and mentally said,

'Just like the book said. They revert to their true forms when in distress. This way I'll be able to use the meat.'

Once Krabs was done taking Emi's clothes off, he tied her up with the rope and hoisted her over his shoulder. Luckily for him, her muffled screams could not be heard by the sleeping Spongebob. Krabs eventually exited the pineapple and brought the struggling Emi to the back of his boat car. Once he was there, he opened up the trunk and threw Emi into the metal coffin. Once he closed it up, he closed the trunk, got into the car and drove off.

After what felt like an eternity of driving, he eventually reached the Krusty Krab and stopped the boat. He then got out and took out the metal box from his trunk, using a rope to drag it to a set of fire poles. He could still faintly hear Emi's muffled shouts and sobs, but tried to ignore them.

He then threw the box down the hole the fire poles were coming from and went down after it, eventually reaching the bottom before realizing that he had forgotten his axe in the boat. So, he made his way upstairs to the boat, but each step felt heavy. He was torn between guilt for taking the boy's love away from him and his lust for wealth.

But just as it had always been, his greed overpowered his morals. He grabbed the axe and made his way back into the basement, and finally opened the metal box's lid. Inside was the gagged and tied up Emi, whose muffled screaming was now added to by tears of terror flowing down her face. She had been crying so much in fact that her eyes were now red.

She also appeared to be bruised from the fall. The terrified Emi shook her head rapidly in fear, and Mr Krabs took one last look at her before raising the axe above his head. Emi's muffled screams became even louder and she wiggled around even more frantically before the axe finally came down, silencing her for good.

For the next few hours, Krabs hacked at Emi's corpse, slicing it further and further until there was nothing left but various chunks of meat. Covered in blood, Mr Krabs stood over the pile of flesh that was once Emi, but noticed something odd. After he had chopped off her head, Emi's pendant had begun glowing and her body briefly began growing until eventually shrinking back down to "regular" size.

Unbeknownst to Krabs, the removal of Emi's pendant would've undone the spell keeping her the same size as the sea creatures, but her death meant that her corpse would remain stuck at that size until it rotted away. He then stated in a tone of both resignation and regret,

"It's over…"

July 19th, 2013

A month. It had an entire month since Emi had gone missing, and Spongebob was no closer to finding where she had gone. On that day that he had woken up and only seen her clothes scattered across his bed and the floor, he had spent days looking for her. However, when he had been unable to find her, Mr Krabs told him to forget about her, telling him that there were plenty more fish in the sea.

Speaking of which, only a few days after Emi's disappearance, Mr Krabs had debuted a new food item at the Krusty Krab: the Krusty Steak. It was essentially the same as regular steak, but tasted 10 times better. When asked about it, Mr Krabs would always avoid the question. The steak had been selling like hotcakes, outselling even the Krabby Patties, but they were in limited stock.

In fact, they were almost sold out. That brings us to now, where Spongebob was sadly standing at the grill, barely paying attention to Squidward barking orders at him. As he flipped over a patty, Spongebob was at least thankful that he wouldn't be losing his job because of the new steak. However, there was still one question irking him which he then voiced to Squidward, asking him,

"Hey, Squid?"

Squidward turned to look at Spongebob away from his magazine and asked him,

"What do you want?"

"Do you ever wonder where Mr Krabs got this steak from in the first place?"

"It doesn't matter, doesn't it? We're not paid to question these things. In fact, we're barely paid at all."

"Yeah but-"

Spongebob was then cut off by Patrick asking for a medium rare steak. As he began preparing it, Squidward began somewhat considering what Spongebob said. It was fairly odd that this super delicious steak just came out of nowhere and Krabs had never mentioned how. After a few hours of serving customers while thinking this over, Squidward reluctantly decided to investigate it.

He turned around and told Spongebob,

"I'm gonna take a break, you handle the register."

Spongebob was more than happy to accept this offer, freeing up Squidward to head to Mr Krabs's office. Luckily, the old crustacean was out counting his booty, leaving the room all to Squidward. Pulling out a laptop from Mr Krabs's desk, he sat at his chair and began to try to look for any security footage. Luckily, all of Eugene's passwords were pretty simple.

Squidward began combing through the files, searching for any data on where the steak had come from. Eventually, he managed to find a series of files that were about a month old. However, when Squidward clicked on these files, he was in for the shock of a lifetime. On the screen, he saw Mr Krabs dragging a box to a certain position. The old crustacean muttered,

"Damn, yer heavy…"

He then opened the lid of the box, and Squidward could hear muffled shouting and…what sounded like crying? He zoomed in, and to his shock, he saw a female humanoid fox wearing the same pendant that Emi had been wearing. However, this was nothing compared to Squidward's shock and horror when Mr Krabs pulled out the axe and started chopping.

The octopus watched the scene with increasing horror until Krabs was finally done, and when it was, he saw Mr Krabs grab the pieces of Emi and carry them back upstairs. Desperate to know more, he switched the perspective to the kitchen camera, and saw Mr Krabs taking the chunks and start shaping them, and molding them.

He then began cooking them, and once he was done, there was no doubt: It was steaks. Squidward turned the screen off in abject horror. They had been feeding the remains of an innocent being to the masses. He asked himself,

"What have we done?"

However, he then heard a voice behind him say,

"I knew I forgot to delete something."

Jumping in surprise, Squidward saw Mr Krabs standing outside the opened door. Sweating, Squidward asked hi,

"H-how much did you hear?"

"Enough…"

Squidward's fear gradually turned into a grim resolve, and he asked his boss,

"Eugene…was that Emi on the security camera?"

Mr Krabs didn't answer. Squidward clenched his fists in sheer rage. After a few moments, Squidward began to go off on him, screaming,

"YOU SUCK, TWISTED FUCK!!! I KNEW YOU WERE SCREWED IN THE HEAD BUT THIS IS TAKING IT 10 STEPS TOO FAR!!! I'M REPORTING YOU TO THE POLICE RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!!!!"

Squidward was about to leave to go to the payphone, but Mr Krabs told him,

"But will they believe you?"

Squidward was confused by this, and Krabs continued,

"Fox spirits aren't known to the general public, so you could be convicted of faking her existence to get me in trouble. Besides, we both know that the cops in this town are a bunch of incompetent bumblers. They won't arrest me, because without me there's no Krabby Patty, and the Krabby Patty is the only thing keeping this town from collapse."

Squidward was about to retort, but realized that Eugene was right. The justice system was corrupt and incompetent on every level, and even if the cops did believe him, they'd probably be convinced to let Krabs go by him offering them a slight discount at the Krusty Krab. Not to mention, Emi likely didn't even count as a citizen since for most of her time in Bikini Bottom, she was a secret.

Mr Krabs then said to Squidward,

"Listen, I…don't want the boy finding out about this, because if he does, he'll never forgive me."

He then grabbed Squidward by the shirt of his collar and yelled,

"So if ANY of this gets out to him, I'll be adding FRIED CALAMARI TO ME MENU NEXT!"

Squidward, terrified that Krabs would actually go through with his threat, quickly exclaimed,

"Ok, Ok! I won't tell anyone!"

"Good…"

Mr Krabs then slowly scuttled out of the room, with Squidward following after him. From there, the rest of the way went along as if nothing ever happened, Squidward keeping his promise about never telling a soul about the dark deed Mr Krabs had committed…
