Welcome one and all to this year's Thanksgiving Special. My annual end of year opportunity to express how thankful I am for all of you reading my stories throughout the last decade or so, by updating every story I have active at the moment. This is Part I. Last time, we learned the origin of General Luthor, indicating he was from a world where he and Superman once worked together until Superman went rogue and Luthor fought back against him, leading to the destruction of Metropolis by nuclear explosion. But is this really the story? I won't say quite yet. But we will learn that in time. For now, we've got one more Dark Knight to catch up with. So, what awaits? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens with Spyro, Supergirl, and Flash moving down one of the corridors, only to be stopped partway by Myriad, helmet off, showing the face of Alex Danvers)

Myriad: Hello, sister.

Supergirl: (Having to remind herself that this is Myriad, not Sentinel) You don't get to call me that. Alex would, but never Myriad.

Myriad: (Shrugging her shoulders) The odds of that tactic working were extremely slim, but worth attempting. (Dons her helmet) It appears I will have to resort to violence.

Spyro: This might not go how you plan. Last I checked, there's one of you to three of us.

Flash: (Summoning flames from his hands) So you'd best surrender, unless you want to end up fried.

Myriad: (Chuckles) You're not near as intimidating as you believe you are, Barry Allen. You weren't on my world, nor are you here. Besides, I have a few tools that will even the odds.

(With that, Myriad draws her Kryptonite Sword and Dark Gem Shield, getting a startled reaction from just about everyone)

Flash: That's... a big Dark Gem.

Spyro: I'd consider the odds evened.

Supergirl: With that Kryptonite Sword, I wouldn't say evened. I'd say...

Myriad: In my favor. Just as I calculated.

(Supergirl is clearly hesitant, but she steels herself, and like the force of hope she is, stands tall, starting to levitate off the ground as she does.)

Supergirl: I beat Myriad once, I can do it again.

Myriad: Ever the optimist, Kara Zor-El. Even when the odds are against you. Just like on my world.

(Now Myriad flashes back to her past, revealing the battle against her Supergirl, starting with the image of Supergirl and a Myriad controlled Alex Danvers facing off)

Myriad: You thought you could defeat Myriad on my world. And your naivete cost you dearly. Our battle was intensely calculated, and my moves were planned to the second. I had more minds on my side after all.

(The next scene shows Supergirl overwhelmed by Myriad controlled civilians, and this is where she starts to lose)

Myriad: But I had more than just minds to throw at the situation. I had more bodies to throw at it too. And just as suspected, your refusal to let anyone die would cost you dearly. You were soon overwhelmed by your former friends.

(Now we transition to a Kryptonian ship, where Non and Indigo are torturing Supergirl, trying to break her)

Myriad: You put up quite a fight, your family would have been proud honestly. But ultimately, you would not be brought to heel. You would rather die than be part of the solution. And so you did.

(Fast forward several years, and Myriad has spread across the Earth, though soon, Non is dead, and Indigo is working on the mainframe of Myriad)

Myriad: However, the system's administrators were not near as durable as one would hope. So the sole survivor uploaded computer mind into the Myriad mainframe to create a permanent system, and designated the drone I know inhabit as the prime drone, until she wears out anyways.

(As the scene transitions back to the present, Supergirl finally realizes who she's really talking to)

Supergirl: Indigo?!

Myriad: (As the classic Brainiac three dot symbol appears on Myriad's chest) About time you recognized me. Having control of the Myriad system, I absorbed the collective consciousness of humanity and destroyed them. Keeping this one drone around as basically a trophy. I was about to move on to the next world, then Lord Malefor approached me, offering me entire realities to collect. How could I refuse that?

(With that, Myriad enters a battle stance, as the trio of heroes do the same, prepared to fight despite the odds being heavily against them)

Myriad: And from it, I get an even greater joy. I get to kill Supergirl again.

(And as the battle is about to begin, our tale ends for today)

This concludes Part I of the Thanksgiving Special. For Part II, head on over to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Admittedly, of all three of the Dark Knights featured prominently here, Myriad was the tough one to come up with an origin for. I needed a twist, something to work with. And then I remembered Indigo was involved in the Myriad project, so what better twist could there be than Myriad is really Indigo piloting Alex Danvers like a mech suit? And it works because I always visualize the Myriad suit as being blue, giving a hint as to her origins. Anyways, next time, we've got some battles about to pop off. So be sure to tune in for those! Same time... same channel!
