RESOLVE
SHINJUKU STATION (1 week after the China White fight)
This has to be one of the worst experiences Naruto ever had in his life. Right between the first time he was kicked in the balls and when he broke up with his first girlfriend.
"Officer Uzumaki, can you repeat the statement please" Asked an older man 40-50 if Naruto had to guess, he had black hair and glasses while wearing a beige sut right next to him was a slightly younger men with glasses in his mid 30 with a blue suit.
They were detective Sasagawa and Hamakura of the CID .
And they had been questioning Naruto about the Scarab since he used the armor the first time.
"How many times do I have to tell you?" Naruto snapped. "I saw three guys breaking into a factory. They had powers, they attacked me, then the Scarab showed up, beat them, and escaped. End of story." Finished Naruto with frustration they just started to left him alone and the fight with China White happened
.When that woman was arrested she ranted about the Scarab and his 'Sidekick', all the way.
Next thing he knew he was dragged by the ear to an interrogation room and hounded by questions about the Scarab,.
You know what was the worst part of this is that Naruto being a cop and haven been on the other side of the table, he is able understand the tricks they had been using.
ABC
Asume nothing
Believe nothing
Challenge everything
That was the basis of a good interrogation. And normally that mean nitpick a suspect they have something to build up , catch him on his lies until he is forced to confess or make a slip enough to arrest him or someone else.
However because he knew what they were doing he didn't do anything that could be used against him, and he stick to his story without any deviancy
Also, from what Naruto has seen they weren't that good in this in the first place . He theorized that they sent them to him in hopes of gaining something—but they didn't trust them enough to actually gather crucial evidence.
Basically, Naruto had been wasting his time with them for most of the week.
"We only want to check the facts once again," said Detective Hamakura, flashing a kind smile. "You need to understand, that this Beetle fella could be a danger to the citizens."
"Yes, imagine if someone got hurt because you missed or misremembered a small detail," added Sasagawa, leaning forward slightly. "As a police officer, you must understand the responsability you have not only with the citizens but with the oath you sworn. "
"So they're doing the good cop and bad cop routine," Naruto thought, unimpressed. "What a cliche, plus that only when somebody doesn't know the trick"
They could have been more subtle, in his opinion. If it were up to him, he'd have made the suspect feel comfortable , build a small rapport with him enough to slip up, luring him into a false sense of security and then tightening the screws when he gave him a small window.
The only thing they are doing with their antics is annoying the suspect instead of gaining any actual info.
Like he said before they aren't that good
But, well, each to their own, he guessed. Though a small part of him is jealous that this guys got into the CID while he hasn't.
Naruto gave a slow, exaggerated sigh, leaning back in his chair . "Look, I get it. You want to do your job, and you're trying your best. But I've told you everything I know. I only seen this beetle once you get more luck asking with the Tokyo troopers he escaped the other day or that China lady and her goons"
The detectives exchanged a glance, subtle but telling. Hamakura's kind smile faltered for a moment, replaced by a flicker of frustration. Sasagawa, meanwhile, tapped his pen against his notepad, his brow furrowing in thought.
Naruto watched them closely, careful not to let his own nerves show. In truth, he knew he was skating on thin ice. If Dosu, Zaku, or Kin ever blabbed that they'd seen him transform, things would spiral out of control fast. The only saving grace was that if they'd talked, these detectives would've treated him as a full-fledged suspect by now.
Instead they believe he was like that guy from Gotham City who was friends with Batman. ,
"Gordy, Torton, Bolton Maybe?" Thought Naruto while trying to remember the name . "Maybe it was Jeremy Nordon"
"Let me ask you something Officer Uzumaki. Why you become a Police officer in the first place" Asked Detective Hamakura to Naruto causing the blonde to glare.
That was a good question, and too personal to his liking.
"I don't see how is that relevant to case and anyway you have my file , you only need to go to a computer and you can see why" Said Naruto in a cold tone
"We want to hear it from you" Added Sasagawa putting pressure on Naruto.
Sometimes Naruto was thankful he matured past his teens, Teen Naruto would have gotten in an argument at best a fistfight at worst.
"Because only a police offcer can put handcuffs in the bad guys" Snapped Naruto. "And if you did any real research on me, you understand why and why is so inappropiate to ask for that to someone who is not only a colleague but also not a suspect of any crime"
"We are not treati-"Began Hamakura
Yes, you are," Naruto repeated, his voice unwavering. "You believe that I'm involved with a vigilante, and you're trying to force me into a confession just so you can hear what you want to hear. I've told you everything I know since the beginning."
The last part was a blatant lie, but they didn't have any way of proving otherwise.
"And I'm tired of wasting my time with this . I'm riding alone today so I have real work to do," Naruto continued, his words hard and final. "Now, let me go to my post before I report you two to the chief. I'm sure she would be happy when she heard that the only thing you two have done with your investigation is harrasing your junior."
There was a brief silence, and Naruto could almost feel the detectives weighing their next move. Hamakura's hand hovered over his notebook, but it was clear he wasn't sure whether to push further or let it go. Sasagawa, on the other hand, just looked at him with a cold, calculating stare, as if deciding whether to press the issue or take the loss.
Hamakura finally spoke, his voice strained but still trying to hold onto the professional tone. "Maybe is for the best if we continue another day Officer Uzumaki. "
Naruto stood up slowly, the tension in the room palpable as the detectives watched him. He didn't bother with any further words. Instead, he turned and walked toward the door, his back straight and his posture defiant.
Just as he reached the threshold, he paused. With a slight turn of his head, he glanced back over his shoulder, his expression mischievous. Without hesitation, he pulled down one lower eyelid and stuck out his tongue. "Bleah."
It was childish. It was petty. But it was so satisfying. A final "Fuck You" delivered with maximum impudence.
"Ughhhhh," Hamakura groaned, rubbing his temples in frustration. "That's why I never had kids."
Naruto stormed out angry after finishing the interrogation.
"Why didn't you just eliminate them, put them in their place" Said Kurama from inside his head while Naruto walked through the station
"Why to every single problem your solution is to destroy " Complained Naruto. "They aren't bad people, annoying yes, totally, completely. But they are just doing their job If i'm completely honest I would have done something similar if i was in their shoes"
As much as he hated to admit it, he understood where the detectives were coming from. They were just trying to do their jobs, even if they did it in the most annoying way possible. Their approach wasn't something Naruto could recriminate, after all he wasn't blind to the fact that they were just playing their part in a system he was a part of too.
And, yeah, they were right—he was lying to their faces.
"Just saying, taking them out of the way would be the easiest solution" Said Kurama
"Don't even joke about that." Replied Naruto angrily, issues with them aside he was still a cop. Which means that he hates Cop Killers in principle
So he ignored the scarab, shoving his hands into his pockets as he approached the vending machine
He probably wouldn't have taken as personal the interrogation if they asked why he was a cop as a casual question instead of an attempt of guilt trip him into confessing
Or at least that what he felt while he was walking to the bending machine to buy a soda.
He wanted something sweet in his mouth
Then he saw a old lady being accompanied by Ebisu Tobita of the CID and a detective he never saw before.
The woman was talking to the pair and she suddenly spot a smirk on her face.
"Plainclothes and a woman? Are they investigating something?" Naruto wondered, his curiosity piqued as he approached the group.
"Hey," Naruto called out with his usual easygoing grin. "You look happy—did something good happen to you?"
Ebisu immediately stomped on Naruto's foot, hard.
"Ow! What was that for!?" Naruto snapped, glaring at his colleague.
Ebisu shot him a sharp look. " Why would you say something like that?!. Her husband went missing"
"Oh shit" thought Naruto
"Oh shit indeed", Laughed Kurama
"You got it!? now get back to work!"
"Oh, it's alright," she said softly, "It was just an accident. It could happen to anyone , don't take it on this young man"
Naruto blinked, thrown by the unexpected response. "Uh, yeah... I guess." As he walked away, Naruto left repeating the image in his head
"That's weird. I would swore that I saw her smile. I must be seeing things" Thought Naruto while walking away
"Maybe Ebisu's right," Naruto muttered under his breath. "I should learn to keep my mouth shut."
Kurama chimed in, its tone sardonic. "That would be a first."
"Ha ha ha, very funny"
"Who is that kid..." Asked the unknown detective to Ebisu who had a tired expresion on his face. "Never seen him before"
"Right you are still new to the station, he is Naruto Uzumaki , he works in the Koban down the next street" Explained Ebisu. "He also is the Scarab Kid, Hasegawa and Hamakura has been complained all this time"
"Wow." Said the detective amused. "He doesn't look like evil incarnate"
Ebisu sighed heavily, rubbing the back of his neck. "He's not a bad kid. Hell he is not even a bad cop, he actually completed the detective course last year but well..." He trailed off, searching for the right words. " Let's just say He's the type of person who thinks with his legs instead of his brain."
"So he is impulsive"
"Like you cannot even imagine but well that's not really our problem anyway," said Ebisu tiredly, .He rubbed the back of his neck and exhaled deeply. "Can you finish with Saeko-san , please I have to check this other case downtown"
"Sure, is no problem"
"So Naruto Uzumaki, eh..." Thought the detective . "Interesting".
Meanwhile Naruto was grabbing the steering wheel of his patrol car, he couldn't help but grab the steering wheel a little tighter than usual, after all the Last time he was assigned to ride alone he ended up with Kurama living in his back
""Dosu, China, Seer, and Nightwing" Naruto muttered mentally remembering all that he been through since he got the Scarab,
Ever since that night his life had been one curveball after another.
Maybe someday he will get used to it.
But not right now.
To recapitulate
Seer never called him back or even gave him an explanation why he sent him to an arms dealing.
Dosu and China are in prison or in the way to prison, but because they were beaten a vigilante instead of a cop the charges are probably going to be lower than they deserve.
He is hating what his life has become, he hated having to lie to other cops, he hated that he feels he could be fired or worse everyday, he felt like he has no control of it anymore.
"Can I ask you something Kurama"
"You're going to do it anyway"
Naruto rolled his eyes at the Scarab typical snark"During that night if you took full control of my body , what would you have done with it?" Asked Naruto surprisingly in a tone of genuine curiosity not accusation or anything
"Get revenge on the people who tortured me. Make them beg for mercy while I extinguished the light from their eyes," Kurama replied, its tone cold and emotionless.
Naruto winced. He should've known better than to expect a different response from the Scarab.
"Right. You're a sociopath," he muttered, disappointment coloring his voice. Kurama's ultra-violent attitude still grated on his nerves. "And after your big revenge tour? What would you have done? With my body free to roam and nothing to stop you—then what?"
"Why are you asking?" Kurama finally said, the faintest edge of unease in its tone.
Naruto ignored his inner voice and responded . "We're stuck together, like it or not… Guess I just wanted your input in our life," he said before pausing, his voice dropping to a murmur. "Forget it, it was stupid. It's not like you actually care about me beyond my body anyway."
Before the Scarab could respond, Naruto's eyes caught movement in the dimly lit street ahead. He sighed , stopped the car and grabbed the speaker of his patrol radio.
"Hey! You two in the alley!" Naruto called out, his voice crackling through the speaker. "If you want to make out, don't be pervs—there's a love hotel just down the street."
The couple, a man and a woman, ignored him and continued kissing, clearly intent on staying right there and taking things to the next level. They probably thought he'd lose interest and leave them alone.
Naruto rolled his eyes at them "I know you heard me,!" Naruto said, switching to his cop voice. "I'm going to count to five!. If you're not gone by the time I hit zero, I'll take you both in for public indecency!. 5... 4... 3..."
The couple froze, realizing their plan to ignore him wasn't going to work. The man scrambled to pull up his pants, but in his haste, he lost his balance and fell backward, landing on the pavement with a loud thud. His face turned a deep shade of red as he scrambled to his feet. The woman muttered something under her breath—likely a mix of embarrassment and irritation—before yanking him upright and dragging him out of the alley.
Naruto fought the urge to laugh when he caught a glimpse of the man's teddy bear-print underwear.
"See? That wasn't so hard," Naruto said through the speaker, a small smile spreading across his face. "Now, have a nice day"
The woman shot him the middle finger in response.
Naruto mockinly waved back at her before putting the speaker back in its holder.
"You enjoyed that , didn't you?" Kurama asked dryly.
"No... well, maybe just a little," Naruto admitted with a sheepish grin.
Okay, he wasn't going to lie—this moment made the entire night worth it. And he really needed that laugh
And then his radio buzzed off
He sighed. "Well I needed to get back to work anyway"
ROOT HQ
Rasa liked to think of himself as a reasonable man. He never pushed people beyond what was fair, always demanding no more from his subordinates than he was willing to do himself. He wasn't shy about giving credit when it was due.
And right now, he wanted nothing more than to smash his head against the nearest wall.
"Can you repeat that, Doctor?" Rasa asked, his tone carefully restrained, though his jaw clenched tight enough to ache. "Because I don't think I heard you right."
"I said," Sasori replied, arms crossed and voice as flat as ever, "I need more time."
"You said you had the data!" Rasa roared, his composure snapping. "I sacrificed four men to get you that data! We let a murderous psychopath on the loose to gain that data! And now you're telling me that wasn't enough"
"Oh, I'm sorry my work on a totally unknown superweapon isn't moving at the breakneck speed you seem to want," Sasori deadpanned. "Would you like me to explain why, or are you just going to trust me?"
The glare Rasa shot at him could have scorched the air. Sasori, of course, only smirked in response. Rasa hated that smirk. Hated how untouchable the man was. Sasori had carte blanche to do whatever he wanted, and everyone knew it. Even if Sasori punched him in the face right now, Rasa still couldn't fire him.
Because the infuriating man was irreplaceable.
Sasori was a genius, the kind of mind that only came around once in a generation. He was the keystone of an elite team of the brightest scientists the JSDF could muster, the only one capable of advancing the Scarab tech in a meaningful way. So Rasa needed him.
Even if the man was an unbearable jackass.
"Fine," Rasa growled, "explain it. But get to the point, now."
Sasori pressed a few buttons on the holographic interface of his wristwatch. A moment later, a 3D projection of Naruto using the armor appeared.
"This," Sasori began, gesturing to the projection, "is Subject RB."
"'RB'?" Rasa asked.
"Red Beetle," Sasori clarified flatly. "As you can see, the Subject's armor—commonly referred to as the 'Scarab'—utilizes nanomachines connected to its CPU. These nanomachines can reconfigure into weapons, tools, or enhancements on command."
The hologram shifted, showing three examples: the Subject forming a blaster, a sword, and a pair of wings.
"And this—" Sasori continued, switching the display to a golden Hercules beetle-like design—"is Herkus."
"So you've actually built it?" Rasa asked, impressed despite himself. Sasori was further along than he'd anticipated. "And only in three weeks?"
"Not exactly." Sasori's tone became less amused and more measured. "Minister Shimura assigned me this project over a year ago. The last three weeks were about finalizing the nanomachine system."
Rasa's gaze hardened. "Then what's the problem?"
"There are two problems," Sasori said, gesturing toward the hologram of Herkus.
Rasa crossed his arms, his patience wearing thin. "I'm listening."
"First," Sasori explained, "this is effectively a body without a brain."
"A body without a brain?" Rasa repeated, scowling. "What good is it then?"
"It's the world's most expensive paperweight," Sasori replied bluntly. "The nanomachines can perform basic responses to manual inputs, but there's no autonomous decision-making or adaptability. It doesn't think."
"Then program it," Rasa snapped. "We hired you for your genius, didn't we?"
Sasori didn't flinch. "I am a genius and as genius let me say creating an AI isn't as simple as flipping a switch. The coding has to be flawless, or who knows what might happen. And in case you forget it this is an army-killer superweapon in the making. Even if I could create an AI, it would take years, and even then, there's no guarantee it would work."
Rasa's jaw tightened. "Fine. What's the second problem?"
Sasori smirked faintly, his sharp eyes glinting as he adjusted the hologram. "The power source."
"What about it?" Rasa demanded.
"The nanomachines that make up Herkus require an energy source exponentially stronger than anything conventional. The Scarab solves this problem with an exotic core I don't have access to." He flicked his wrist, and the projection shifted to display a compact, glowing core, pulsating with energy.
Rasa pinched the bridge of his nose, barely suppressing a growl. "So you're telling me we have a golden beetle-shaped paperweight."
"If you prefer analogies, yes," Sasori said, unruffled. "A very expensive paperweight"
Rasa stared at him, incredulous. "And your solution to this?"
Sasori's smirk widened, his tone almost smug. "We need the original Scarab in action."
Rasa exhaled sharply, his frustration evident as he rubbed his temples. "We don't even know where the original is" And yeah Rasa and Sasori could use the same machine Dosu used to attract the Scarab the last time but it would be sending an army buster to his own HQ.
Yeah he is not taking that risk
And the Cockroachs he has lack the fire power to fight back against him .
Zaku and Kin are proof of that.
And the JSDF didn't have any superhumans strong enough to face the Scarab, either. Not after their ill-fated attempt at creating super soldiers in the '90s. That disaster had not only backfired but cost the lives of too many soldiers, leaving the program too radioactive for anyone to replicate.
And those who have are reserved under the name nuclear option.
"And we don't even have a clue to where the fuck is he hiding" Rasa muttered, more to himself than to Sasori.
He'd tried to track him down, interrogating Zaku and Kin again to squeeze out any shred of useful intel.
But that pair of bozos kept changing their story. First, the Scarab was a cop. Then a biker. Then, somehow, he was breaking through windows to save the cop.
Rasa grimaced, shaking his head.
Maybe the Scarab had punched them too hard and killed the few braincells they have left. Or maybe they were just idiots.
He was honestly leaning into the later.
"And even if we could find him," he continued, his voice tinged with bitterness, "we don't have anything strong enough available to take him down if things go sideways." He paused, a scowl deepening on his face-"Except, ironically, Herkus."
Sasori didn't flinch at the grim assessment. If anything, he looked mildly amused, as if Rasa's predicament was a new level in a video game
"Don't worry, sir," Sasori said, a faint smile curling his lips. It wasn't comforting—far from it. It was sharp, calculating, like the glint of a blade in the dark.
"I already thought of that. And don't worry a scorpion always know the best way to strike."
"Please, Officer, have mercy on me!" The man, a Japanese salaryman in his mid-30s, pleaded desperately, his tone drenched in panic. The way he hunched over, wringing his hands like a desperate salesman trying to close a deal, made Naruto think the guy was seconds away from dropping into a full-on dogeza.
"It was just a little drink!" the man whined, his voice cracking slightly.
Naruto crossed his arms and fixed the man with an unimpressed stare. He'd seen this song and dance too many times to count. At this point, he was immune to the theatrics.
"I said," Naruto began, his tone flat but resolute, "I'm suspending your license. So hand it over. Now."
The man recoiled like a startled cat, his hands instinctively clutching his wallet.
Naruto had pulled the guy over after noticing his car weaving slightly on the road—not the worst offender he'd seen, but enough to raise a red flag. A quick alcotest confirmed Naruto's suspicions: not plastered, but impaired enough to have no business being behind the wheel.
""Look, Officer," the man started again, his voice dripping with desperation, "my boss is an idiot who works me to the bone. I had one drink, just one! I'm not drunk—well, not really drunk—and I wouldn't hurt anyone. I need my car! I can't go without it for a month—my wife would kill me!"
"Actually, it's three months," Naruto corrected him, his tone casual, almost offhand.
The man, still looking desperate, shook his head, trying to shift the conversation. "You're still young so you don't get it, but sometimes—"
Naruto didn't let him finish. His patience, already worn thin from years of hearing the same excuses, snapped. He was done with the pleading. It was time for the man to hear it straight.
"You see this?" Naruto said, pointing to the New Nambu M60 strapped to his belt.
The man blinked, confused. "Your gun?"
"Yes, my gun," Naruto replied coolly. "I've spent a whole year training with it. Learning how to aim, how to reload, how to take it apart and put it back together—how to do all of that in the dark if I had to. But here's the thing..." Naruto's voice turned hard, his eyes narrowing. "Even after all that practice, the number of people killed by guns every year doesn't even come close to the number of people killed in traffic accidents."
The man opened his mouth to protest, trying to justify himself. "But I would never—"
Naruto cut him off, his tone sharp. "What, you think it wouldn't happen to you? Newsflash: No one expects it. That's why it's called an 'accident.'"
The man froze, his argument falling apart as the weight of Naruto's words sank in. He opened his mouth again, but this time, nothing came out.
Naruto's gaze remained unwavering. "So now, you're going to give me your license. You're going to take this ticket, pay it, and be thankful it's only three months instead of a lifetime of regretting your choices over something so easily avoidable. Got it?"
The man snatched the ticket from Naruto's hand, muttering bitterly, "I hope you get in an incident and end up homeless, you fucking pig" before turning and storming off, likely to call a taxi.
Naruto watched the man storm off he rolled his eyes and, without missing a beat, pulled down his eyelid and stuck out his tongue, and finished with a mocking "Bleeeh" in the man's direction.(2)
"I think that I'm finally understanding 'police work,' human," Kurama said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Really?" Naruto muttered, turning away as he walked toward his patrol car.
"Your job is basically to restrict the freedom of citizens according to your whims," Kurama said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Though, I suppose I shouldn't expect anything less from you, Human."
Naruto sighed, gripping the steering wheel tighter as he mentally braced himself. "Why do you always take the most cynical interpretation of everything?" he shot back. "It's not a whim. We have a justice system, laws, penalties, and procedures that people collectively decide on."
Kurama snorted. "You mean humans decide on."
"Well, yeah," Naruto replied, smirking slightly. "We're the dominant species of the planet, unless you think we should consult the dogs about constitution. Or maybe the ants? They're probably more your style, right, Kurama-chan?"
"Idiot," Kurama muttered, his tone low but irritated.
"Seriously, though," Naruto continued, his voice shifting to a more earnest tone. "The laws are there to protect people—the honest ones. And when someone breaks those laws, it's our job to stop them."
Naruto paused, letting the thought sink in as he pulled the patrol car out onto the road. "Take that guy earlier, for example. Now he's at least going to think twice before drinking and driving. And if he doesn't, well, at least we lowered the chances of an accident tonight."
"I still don't get it," Kurama said after a moment.
Naruto raised his eyebrow "What don't you get? There are some people just don't care and keep—"
"Not that," Kurama interrupted. "I mean why bother at all? Why even do this job?"
Naruto just blinked thinking the right way to explain to a murderous machine about law and order . "Well there are lots of reasons. Some people have family in the force and feel pressured to follow in their footsteps. Others just want to help their communities. And then there are people who just like the idea of a steady paycheck and job security."
"And you?" Kurama pressed, his voice tinged with genuine curiosity. "Why did you become a cop?"
Naruto tightened his grip on the wheel, the patrol car giving a small jolt as he hit an uneven patch of road. He sighed, his voice soft but steady. "You remember I don't come from money, right? Well, when I was little, my mom had this dream of opening her own restaurant. She and my dad worked their butts off for it—every overtime shift, every bonus opportunity, they took it. And when I was about eight, she finally made it happen. Storm Dragons was born."
Naruto couldn't help but smile at the memory "At first, things were great. The restaurant was booming, and for the first time in my life, we were... fine. No more scraping by, no more worrying about the next meal, no more juggling to pay the bills. It felt like everything was finally going right. Hell, we even took our first family vacation to Okinawa that year. My parents even bought me my first laptop. The restaurant wasn't just a business. It was our home. Literally. We lived upstairs. Every morning, I'd wake up to the smell of my mom cooking and the sound of my dad prepping tables. It was everything to us." ld
The smile faded, replaced by a somber expression. "But then," Naruto said, his voice quieter, "things started to change. I was too young to understand the details, but I noticed it. Men in suits began showing up at the restaurant more and more. My parents didn't tell me much, but I noticed the differences they were more restrained, they started saving out when they can. It wasn't long before we started drowning in debt. The restaurant stayed busy, but somehow, we were always short on money. "He paused, his jaw tightening as he stared ahead. "It wasn't until I was older that I learned why . Those men were Yakuza. They'd taken over the territory around my family's restaurant and were forcing my parents to pay 'protection fees.' They kept squeezing us until there was nothing left."
Naruto's voice dropped, heavy with emotion. "And when my parents couldn't keep up with their 'payments,' they torched the Dragons —our home—with both of my parents still inside."
The silence that followed was thick, broken only by the hum of the car engine. Kurama, for once, didn't have a snarky comment.
Naruto swallowed hard, his grip on the wheel tightening again. "My dad died that same night. My mom... she hung on for a while. Months in the hospital, but in the end, the injuries were too much. We had to unplug her." Even to this day, the image of his mother—bandaged like a mummy, connected to all those tubes, motionless for months—was something he couldn't forget. "In hindsight, though, it was probably for the best. A life like that isn't really worth living."
He paused, his mind lingering on the 'what ifs while he drove the mostly empty road.' "The only reason I'm safe... it's because I was on a training camp with my school's kendo team for a tournament."
Naruto froze for a moment, trying to lighten the mood. "So, lucky me, I guess," he muttered." After that the police ruled it as an accident for lack of evidence and I went to live with my aunt and Karin".
Kurama didn't talk for a while, it seemed like he didn't know how to respond to the history or was looking for the right words to continue
Finally, Kurama's harsh tone broke through the quiet. "And you're not angry?" he demanded. "How can you live knowing that?"
Naruto just breath strongly before responding, his voice quieter this time. "Actua—"
But just as he was about to continue, his eyes caught movement ahead—a dark figure standing in the middle of the street.
""Great, another drunk," Naruto muttered, already reaching for the speaker of his cruiser. Bringing it to his lips, he spoke firmly, "TO THE PASSERBY: PLEASE GET OFF THE STREET. IT IS DANGEROUS TO REMAIN STILL."lly
The figure didn't budge. It remained perfectly still, standing eerily motionless as the headlights of the cruiser faintly illuminated it. From this distance, Naruto couldn't make out much detail, but an unsettling feeling began to creep over him.
He switched on the mist lights from his car, only to see the road completely empty. No car, no noise, no people.
Naruto didn't like that. Every rational instinct was telling him to let it go, to ignore it and continue with his night.
But his gut was telling him to at least check it out.
"This is going to suck," Naruto murmured, his gaze fixed on the empty road ahead. "Let's just get out of here and figure this out."
Naruto turned on his flashlight, scanning the empty road, only for his eyes to catch a faint glint in the distance. He squinted, trying to make sense of it. "What the—"
Before he could finish, the air around him shifted. A metallic screech pierced the night as something emerged from the shadows—a humanoid metallic figure with a giant claw for an arm. The thing moved faster than Naruto expected, lunging straight at him with a deadly swipe.
Instinct took over. Naruto's free arm shot up, and with a quick motion, the scarab-like armor on his forearm activated with a soft hum and a flash of red electricity. The blade struck the armored limb, sending sparks flying as metal clashed against metal.
"WHAT IS WITH PEOPLE AND TRYING TO KILL ME?!" Naruto exclaimed, dashing to the side and narrowly avoiding another strike.
"Maybe it's your sunny personality," Kurama mocked in a tone so smug that Naruto was certain he'd be grinning if he had a face.
"SO not the time," Naruto shot back, gritting his teeth as red electricity surrounded him. The rest of his armor materialized, encasing his body in its scarab-like design. "And I don't care who you are, but I'm sick of assholes trying to attack me by surprise!"
Now fully equipped, Naruto got a better look at his attacker. The figure that had inched down the road stood slightly taller than him, its body encased in a sleek, black exoskeleton-like armor with a gleaming silver chest plate. Its head resembled that of a black grasshopper, complete with two tiny antennae and glowing red eyes that pierced through the dark night.
Its right arm ended in a pincer-like claw that looked strong enough to crush steel, while its left arm appeared normal—at least as normal as anything else about this creature could be. The slight curve of its legs and the spring-like tension in its stance added to its insectoid, grasshopper-like menace.
"Let's finish this mano a mano," Naruto said, lifting his fists.
The figure responded instantly. It shifted, inching forward before dropping into a crouch, adopting a stance similar to that of a sprinter at the starting block.
Naruto barely had time to brace himself as the creature unleashed its pent-up energy in a single, explosive movement. It covered the distance in an instant, delivering a blistering roundhouse kick. Naruto managed to bring his armored forearms up just in time to block the strike, but the sheer force sent him skidding back a few centimeters, his feet digging into the asphalt to steady himself.
"He's fast," Naruto muttered under his breath.
The Hopper didn't waste a second. Its antennae twitched as if sensing Naruto's momentary discomfort, and it sprang forward with unnerving speed. This time, its pincer crackled with a surge of electricity, arcs of energy dancing along its clawed arm.
Before Naruto could fully react, the Hopper drove its electrified pincer into his ribs, the impact sending a burst of pain through his body. Making difficult for him to breathe.
"He's strong too," Naruto said through gritted teeth. "But we are too, so prepare yourself!"
Naruto's hand shifted, transforming into a sonic cannon. With a roar, he unleashed a concentrated blast of sound, the shockwave slamming into the Hopper at point-blank range. The impact was immediate and violent, sending the Hopper stumbling against a wall.
"Now you're going to tell me: Who the fuck are you, and what's your beef with me, Hopper? Or do I have to beat it out of you?" Naruto demanded, his fiery gaze fixed on the insectoid figure.
H-Chaser tilted its head, antennae twitching as if analyzing its prey. Without warning, it charged, closing the gap in an instant.
"I am the H-Chaser," it declared, its voice reverberating with cold mechanical malice. " . But for you..."
The sentence punctuated with a brutal punch that landed squarely on Naruto's face, sending a sharp jolt through him. "I may as well be the Shinigami."
Naruto staggered back, gritting his teeth as H-Chaser pressed the advantage. A flurry of precise jabs followed, each one forcing him to retreat further. His armor absorbed the brunt of the strikes, but he could feel the relentless power behind each blow.
Without warning, H-Chaser drove its knee into Naruto's torso with devastating force. The impact sent shockwaves through his body, and a sharp cough escaped him as he spat a bit of blood behind his helmet.
"What is wrong with you, you are getting creamed out here" complained Kurama to the blonde.
"I'm just getting warmed up, ok" Said Naruto while licking the blood on the side of his face, he is not the type to go easily after all. "Kurama there is something I wanted to for a while."
"Oh... I see what you're doing." Said Kurama while morphing Naruto hands into another cannons this one were a little smaller than the sonic once he used earlier ."I like it"
Naruto extended his arms and two massive pillars of flame shot forward, illuminating the entire area with their ferocious heat, H-Chaser leaped with surprising agility, bouncing off nearby walls and making swift, calculated movements to avoid the fire. The flames seemed to scorch the air around it, but the robot nimble movements allowed it to narrowly escape the full brunt of Naruto's attack.
In midair, H-Chaser twisted, its pincer snapping out with precision. With a mechanical roar, it drove the claw into the street, ripping up a large chunk of asphalt to fashion a makeshift shield. Now perched on the side of a building, H-Chaser jumped, using the shield to block the worst of the flames. Despite the shield sizzling and cracking under the intense heat, it held long enough for the robot to crash directly into Naruto, sending him staggering backward.
As Naruto was sent staggering backward by the force of the impact, the world around him seemed to blur for a split second. He was stumbling and for a second he fell like gravity itself was pushing him to the ground.
"Im... so... tired," Naruto muttered, his words slurred, fighting the overwhelming urge to close his eyes and give in to the exhaustion. His vision was swimming, and for a moment, everything felt distant, like the world was moving in slow motion.
But H-Chaser wasn't waiting. Taking advantage of Naruto's weakened state, it began to prepare its claw for the finishing blow. The mechanical roar of its pincer filled the air as it swung it down, aiming to end the fight in one crushing strike.
"HEY HUMAN. IS NO TIME TO SLEEP, YOUR OPPONENT IS HERE—GET UP!" Kurama's voice thundered in his mind, urgent and commanding. The words broke through the haze clouding Naruto's thoughts, sending a surge of adrenaline through his veins. His eyes snapped wide open.
With a swift motion, Naruto sidestepped just in time, the immense claw of H-Chaser slamming into the side of a nearby building instead. The force of the impact sent cracks shooting through the structure, dust and debris showering the area as the building's wall crumbled under the assault.
"How many hours have I been unconscious?" Naruto muttered, his vision still blurry as he tried to shake off the dizziness, struggling to stay on his feet.
"Idiot," came Kurama's irritated voice inside his mind, "If you'd been unconscious for that long, you'd be dead by now! You've barely been out for a few seconds. Now, stop wasting time. You can whine later, but right now, you've got a piece of junk to deal with!"
"Kurama ... were you worried about me?".he asked, the hint of a teasing smile playing on his lips.
There was a brief silence in his mind before Kurama's voice shot back, gruff and irritated, "DON'T BE STUPID, YOU HAIRLESS APE! IT'S JUST DIFFICULT TO FIND ANOTHER HOST, AND YOU'RE THE LEAST ANNOYING ONE I'VE MET!"
Naruto grinned "Well then, let's show this piece of junk who is boss for once and for all," he said, cracking his knuckles and readying himself for the next round. "Kurama, drill"
The scarab hummed in acknowledgment, its mechanisms clicking and whirring as it obeyed. In an instant, a red drill appeard on his right hand.
"Come on," Naruto said, raising his left hand and curling his fingers in a beckoning gesture. "I'm waiting for you"
H-Chaser let out a guttural mechanical growl, its glowing red eyes narrowing. With no hesitation, it launched itself forward, the ground cracking beneath its heavy strides. Its massive claw arced toward Naruto in a vicious, sweeping strike.
Naruto braced himself, his crimson drill whirring to life as the massive claw came crashing down. The force of the impact sent a shockwave through the ground, cracking the earth beneath them. Sparks flew as metal ground against metal, the sound piercing the air like a scream.
"Don't understimate me!"Naruto said as red electricity surrounded his body causing drill spun faster, grinding into the claw and causing bits of its armor to peel away in a shower of sparks.
H-Chaser growled in frustration, its mechanical strength undeniable, but Naruto's drill was relentless. With a burst of effort, Naruto angled the drill upward, deflecting the claw to the side and forcing H-Chaser to break his posture.
"There's no way a beetle could beat a grasshopper in speed or agility," Naruto said, his voice firm and confident as he held his ground. His crimson drill whirred with a ferocious intensity, casting a menacing glow in the dim light. "But in brute strength..."
With a final, thunderous push, Naruto drove his drill upward, the sheer force sending H-Chaser hurtling through the air before crashing onto the ground a few meters away. The impact left a crater, the machine's once-imposing form sprawled and battered against the fractured street.
"It has no EQUAL!" Naruto roared, standing tall as his armor radiated with power.
Seeing him laying in the floor Naruto approached red sparks running across his armor shattering the street with every step he took meanwhile the H-chaser was struggling to get up.
"For my master's sake... I cannot fail!" the robot declared, its voice distorted and crackling. "I will take the Scarab user's head—I will not fail!" Purple Electricity surged across its body.
"I can still fight!" H-Chaser roared defiantly, its voice reverberating through the air as it gathered what little strength it had left. With a final surge, it lunged, its massive claws slicing through the air with desperate speed.
But its movements were slow, uncoordinated, its agility faltering under the weight of the damage it had taken. Naruto, with effortless grace, sidestepped the attack. His body moved fluidly, instinctively, as he closed the distance between them.
In a flash, he seized one of the robot's claw, locking his arm around it. With a swift, practiced motion, he used the robot's own momentum against it. Naruto shifted his weight, employing a judo throw. The force of the robot's own charge was its undoing as Naruto twisted and hurled H-Chaser through the air.
The machine crashed violently into the ground with a deafening thud, its body skidding across the fractured street. Without wasting a second, Naruto activated his drill once again, the crimson energy swirling around it as it hummed with power.
"HIaaaah!" Naruto shouted as he lunged forward, stabbing the drill straight into H-Chaser's chest. Sparks erupted from the impact, and the sound of grinding metal filled the air as the drill tore deeper into the machine's core, sending shockwaves of energy through its circuits.
"Ughhhhh..." Naruto groaned, collapsing onto the street, exhaustion taking over after the grueling battle. "Finally, it's over."
As if on cue, his hand transformed into a plasma cannon, and without a second thought, he unleashed a barrage of blasts into the wreckage. The plasma blasts tore through what was left of H-Chaser, disintegrating it with explosive force. The once-powerful machine was now a pile of molten fragments scattered across the pavement.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Naruto snapped, still panting from the fight, his voice full of frustration. "It was bassically scrapped metal"
Kurama's voice boomed in his mind, unbothered by the question. "Precaution. Human, also you still haven't told me"
"What Kurama?"
"You didn't answer my question, how can you live with what happened to your parents, how aren't you angry. Why you don't use my power to take revenge on them. Why?"
If he was honest this still isn't a topic he like to talk about but he guessed there is nothing wrong with telling the scarab.
"I was angry for a long time," Naruto began, his voice quieter now. "Hell, I caused a lot of headaches for Karin and Mariko-baa-chan. I felt like I was carrying this scar with me everywhere I went, however while Scars never heal they do fade, I realized that I couldn't change the past, no matter how much I wanted to. So i joined the force to protect people, making sure they don't have to go through the same thing"I
Naruti froze for a few seconds watching the molted remains of the machine ." Kurama I want to do this for real"" Said Naruto thinking in all the previous occations he used the Scarab power , he never took the lead, trouble just found him and he used it
"What-?"
"I been thinking it for a while , you see we've got all this power," Naruto said, gesturing vaguely to his armored body, the energy from the Scarab still pulsating faintly. "And is going to waste 'cause If i ever used it on the job I'd get fired—or worse But… what if I became a hero? Like, I don't know, Superman. But I only going to do it you are ok with it, "
"And what are we going to Protect?"
"This city Tokyo , and everyone who lives here" He pointed toward the glowing skyline, the lights shimmering like a sea of stars. "So ...what do you say?"
"It sound fun" Said Kurama ." Plus it beats having to stay in your head all day long". Kurama didn't truly care much about others but he liked the action and if he ever is going to get his revenge having Naruto gaining more experience gave him a lot... of opportunities.
So yeah he is in, in this "HERO" thing.
If they are going to have to face more things like H-chaser then how bad could it be?
Inside a dimly lit laboratory filled with glowing monitors , Dr. Sasori observed the shattered remains of his machine through a live feed. His sharp, calculating eyes glinted in the light of the screens as he reviewed the data.
The H-Chaser, a robot engineered for assassination and the relentless tracking of its targets, had been defeated. Its destruction wasn't entirely unexpected, but it still irked him. He drummed his fingers on his laptop. "And… delete," he said, eliminating all traces of the Scarab user's identity from the footage. After all, as they say, he was "not in the revolution." Let Danzo and Rasa obsess over the Scarab's identity; as far as he was concerned...
"It's more fun to just leave it at that," he said with a sly smile.
Having Subject RB running around gave him the perfect guinea pig to challenge, test, and fight. It allowed him to indulge in the scientific process to its fullest. If he ever wanted to capture him, it wouldn't be difficult. Tracking the energy output of the Scarab was simple—after all, when used, it produced enough energy to power an entire city.
Plus, he had already obtained what he truly needed thanks to one of his little drones. Sasori's eyes flicked toward a small green orb resting on his desk. The Lex-Reactor—some prototype Luthor had developed for LexCorp Enterprises—had made its way to Tokyo, far from the watchful eyes of Superman and the League. If his data was correct, he now held a generator with the voltage capacity of a nuclear reactor in his hands.
"Mozart had music, Michael angelo had the arts , and I have robotics," he mused, a manic grin spreading across his face. The mere thought of the possibilities—of how he could evolve his machinery—made his mouth water.
With the data he had collected and the reactor at his disposal, Sasori turned back to his laptop. "Time to get to work," he said, his fingers already flying across the keyboard. How much he loved his job
Next Day
After the fight with the H-Chaser, Naruto quickly left the scene, not wanting anyone to connect him with the Scarab or the destruction left behind.
Luckily for him, while the street was in shambles, his patrol car was intact, and no one else was around. That made it easy to leave quietly. It was better that way—fewer questions.
So, yay Him.
Now he was just locking his locker in the station and was going back to his house and sleep like a rock, he was exhausted. And nothing could stop him.
"Hey, Naruto-kun, can you come here for a second?"
Shit. I really need to stop saying that, he thought, inwardly cursing himself for jinxing his plans. Straightening up, he replied respectfully, "Yes, Iruka-Kachou," addressing his direct superior with the appropriate deference.
""Is something wrong?"
"Well…" Iruka paused for a few seconds, his expression unreadable. "The chief wants to see you."
"The chief…" Naruto repeated, feeling the color drain from his face. "Are you sure it was me?"
"Yes," Iruka replied, his tone firm but sympathetic. "She personally asked for you by name."
"Did she at least tell you why?" Naruto asked, hoping for some clarity.
Much to his dismay, Iruka shook his head. "She said it was personal and that it would be better if you went as soon as possible."
"Shit, none of that sound good" though Naruto inside his head. "Thank you, Iruka-san. I'll see her now," he said, saluting his superior with a calmness that betrayed none of the panic brewing inside him.
Outwardly, he projected a composed demeanor, but inwardly…
"I'm gonna get fired," he mentally cried,
"Why are you so worried about" Said the Scarab meanwhile the blonde was going to his voice office." Did you think they found out about... us"
""Not really," Naruto replied, trying to stay focused as he walked down the hallway. "If she found out about you, we'd have a full room of Tokyo troopers surrounding us with weapons, and we'd be in real trouble."
The Scarab seemed to hum with quiet amusement. "Then what's the problem it prodded
"Kurama you been living with me for what a month." Said The blonde. "During that time did i ever, ever interact personally with my boss"
"Not really"
Exactly," Naruto's voice became slightly erratic as he continued. "Grunts like me barely meet with the top brass. If she wants, she could send me to some forgotten post in the countryside, or worse, fire me!"
The thought of being reassigned to a far-off station in the countryside, away from everything and everyone he knew, made him feel even more anxious. Unlike American police forces, Japan's police are national, meaning that officers could be transferred to different cities at any time if the higher-ups saw fit.
That was how he lost his last serious girlfriend, when she was sent to Sapporo.
Then he'd spend the rest of his career handling cases like "Who stole the chicken?"—spoiler alert: the fox did it.
Plus, he didn't want to move. He liked it here.
"Well here goes nothing "Said Naruto before reaching the chief office
Knock Knock Knock
Naruto stepped in to find a beautiful woman with green eyes and auburn hair styled in a neat bun working in some paperwork in a black desk . She was wearing a uniform similar to his, though hers was adorned with the badge of a Chief superintendent. Her name was Mei Terumi. She replaced at the old chief when he retired like 4 months ago
Before coming to Tokyo, Mei had been a hotshot detective in Hokkaido, quickly climbing the ranks due to her sharp skills and keen instincts. By the time she was in her late 30s, she'd been left in charge of a station, earning her a reputation as a strong and competent leader. She was well-liked by her subordinates for her straightforwardness and ability to make tough decisions .
And, if Naruto was being honest with himself, she was really, really hot.
"Officer Uzumaki Naruto, I was told you wanted to see ma'am" Said Naruto saluting her
Mei's green eyes briefly studied him as she set down the paperwork in front of her, her expression unreadable for a moment. She smiled slightly, acknowledging his presence.
"At ease, Officer Uzumaki," she said, motioning for him to sit. "Sorry . I bothered I know how tiring night shifts are"
"Don't worry Ma'am" Said Naruto nervously taking a seat. "Is no trouble at all"
"Oh drop it you big bbaby " Said Kurama tired of Naruto reaction." You weren't this nervous earlier with those two bozos Hamakura and Kanagawa
"It was Hamakura and Sasagawa" Naruto Corrected the scarab about their names , " And I'm nervous because unlike them , she is good at her job"
"Tell me Uzumaki-kun" She said while leaning on his desk." Are you happy in the Koban"
Naruto froze. The question, though casual, sent his mind into a tailspin. He tried to mask his sudden anxiety, but Mei's presence was so commanding that it made everything feel ten times more intense.
This is it, he thought. She's going to send me to some godforsaken place I've never even heard of. A town so small no one bothered to put it on the map.
How was it that a comfy chair, an office with AC, and a few scattered documents could make him feel more uncomfortable than a cold, sterile interrogation room?
"Well I can't really complain. Sargent Umino is a good leader , and my sempai are good with me"
"Bootlicker"
"For the love of God, just this time SHUT UP, I DON'T WANT HER TO THINK I'M CRAZY!"
"Well, that makes me happy," she said before standing up. "You look tense. Do you want some tea? I grow it myself."
Naruto blinked in surprise, the sudden offer taking him off guard. The previous chief was a hardass, so no one really missed him when he left. Actually, Naruto would have sworn some people celebrated when he left. And by "swore," he meant they definitely did it, but it would look bad to say out loud.
"Tea?" Naruto said, his tone uncertain. "Uh... sure, I'd love some. Thank you, Ma'am."
"I know that this job can be stressful sometimes, so it's always good to have a hobby to unwind," she said, pouring some tea into a cup for him.
"I know, I actually have a small garden in my apartment."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I find them relaxing," said Naruto while taking the cup. He hesitated for a second, then brought it to his lips. The warmth spread through his hands and into his chest as he took a sip. The taste was smooth, slightly floral, with a small sweet aftertaste.
It was actually pretty good.
"Did you like it?" she asked.
"Yes, it's pretty good," he said honestly. "But sorry for asking this, you didn't bring me to your office just to drink tea, right?"
"I was actually waiting for someone else," said the woman, scratching the back of her head.
And just as she said that, a man entered her office.
The man had silver hair and black eyes. He was also wearing a facemask for some strange reason, along with a black suit and tie.
Naruto squinted his eyes for a few seconds, trying to place the guy's face somewhere when it suddenly dawned on him.
"Shit, it's the guy from earlier with the Grandma," he thought, recalling the small incident and seeing him with that klutz Ebisu. "Shit, with everything that happened, I totally forgot about it."
"Did they report me for that? Fuck, I fell for a bait trick." The easiest trick in an interrogation: lure the suspect into a false sense of security, then chase them when they drop their guard.
Seeing his choices, Naruto did what he thought was most appropriate.
"I'm sorry for that, I really shouldn't have said that to the old lady," Naruto said, putting his hands together in a gesture of apology. "It was just a misunderstanding, I didn't know about her husband. I will never approach a witness on my own again. But please don't tranfer me into the middle of nowhere "
Both the detective and the chief looked him for a few second like looking for words.
HA HAHA HAHA
then they started laughing.
"W-w-hat?" Naruto said stupidified.
"Ha ha , " Said Mei taking control of herself. "Officer Uzumaki, you missread the situation at allm though I can't blame you I really should have clear with you earlier, that explain why you were so nervous earlier"
"Can somebody explain to me what is going on" Said Naruto
"Hatake-kun" She said pointing to the detective
"Yes, Chief. Three days ago, a woman named Saeko Tachibana reported her husband Tsuyoshi missing. According to her, the man didn't return from work one evening, and she was growing desperate," the detective explained, causing the blonde to nod. "We had the CID and the forensics team looking for clues, but we found nothing that could tell us his whereabouts—until your little comment earlier: 'You're smiling, did something good happen to you?'
"That got me thinking, so I checked her accounts and found a suspicious deposit for a rented van. When we tracked it down, we found the man's corpse."
Naruto's eyes widened in shock as Hatake continued, "It turns out they'd been having a falling out. When her husband threatened to divorce her, fearing he would leave her penniless, Tachibana-san killed him with a baseball bat. She then rented a van to hide the body far away from their house. Her plan was to dump it after the manhunt for her husband ended, so she could play the part of a grieving widow."
"But you arrested her, right I mean she is a murderer" Said Naruto
"Saeko-san confessed once the evidence was brought up, she feared the possibility of a death penalty too much too argue" finalized Mei, most killers specially those who do it in impulse or by greed end up doing the same
"That's good I guess" Said Naruto . "But that doesn't really has anything to do with me"
"Actually , it does" Mei said while taking a brown envelope and giving it to Naruto
"What is this?" Said Naruto who didn't want to open the envelope in front of those two
"Is a transfer notification" Said Mei causing the blonde. " If you want you can join the CID on next monday"
"You mean... I'm going to be a detective?" Naruto asked excitedly, his eyes lighting up. All that hard work into becoming a Detective the long hours, studiying for the course .seemed to be paying off.
"Well… yes and no," Mei replied, avoiding his eager gaze.
"Wait, what?" Naruto asked, his excitement giving way to confusion.
"Think of this as a probationary period," Mei explained. "Detective Kakashi Hatake will be your partner and supervisor during this time and If he approves your performance, then we can discuss a permanent position."
"And if he fails me"
"Then you will return to your old post" Said Kakashi to the blonde who gulped. "Is ok if you don't want to do it now, most people become detective at least in their late 20 or early 30s, nothing can stop you for trying again. But personally I think you will be making a mistake You have good eyes kid , that gives you an edge"
"I'll do it" Said Naruto. " I wanted to be a detective for a while, and I'm not going to waste my chance nor would I let any of you two down , I will work so hard that neither of you will ever regret giving my this chance"
"I hope so , I have high expectations for you Puppy" Said Kakashi punctuating the last word.
"I will do my best sir" said Naruto ignoring the nickname. Before saluting them and leaving the office and when he was far away.
"YESYESYESYESYES"Said Naruto happily
"Aren't you forgetting something"
"Don't worry Kurama , I'm sure we can find a way to balance. I mean how hard having a secret identity could it be"
Remember Pairing suggestions
And that finished what I call the introduction arc , I always had the plan of making Naruto a detective ( they have much more freedom and involvement in case compared to patrol like Naruto was, that why I never truly developed Naruto Koban colleagues nor I gave him a parter to ride along)
Plus I want your opinion on the Backstory I gave Naruto there were a lot of hints to that earlier in the history
(1)= I have no idea for what is suspension for driving while not drunk but with alcohol in your sistem is either in japan or the US. In chile we have the Emilia Law or the zero tolerance of alcohol, basically what Naruto did is the lesser punishment for first offenders who didn't hurt anyone or anything.
"(2)= That was my personal rant , I'm on the team in that if one is going to drink get an uber or a taxi, avoid lifelong regrets for something so easily avoidable . The emilia Law i said before got his origin in a 9 month old baby who lost her life after a drunk driver crashed her parents car
(3)= I was going to use Tsunade as the chief, but I think Mei is more of what kind of boss , I want Naruto to have , she is competent, reasonable and has a genial personality , she is pretty much a carrot and stick kind of boss, if someone is good she is good, if someone is bad she is not afraid of layind down the law.
Plus is Mei she is really underused in fics
