Arthur tried to get closer to him but Merlin was shaking the closer he got. He even tried to talk to him from afar but he didn't seem to hear him.

He called one of the guards to ask them to look for Gawain, Lancelot or Gauis, anyone who could help him calm Merlin down.

Someone quickly knocked on his door, it was Lancelot. He had come back with the guard he had sent. Both of them seemed out of breath, as if they had run to come as quickly as possible. Lancelot hoped that Arthur had called him for good news with Merlin, that's why he had hurried.

"Everything is fine sire, I was told it was urgent?" Arthur didn't answer, he first sent the guard away and then he let him into his room.

The knight was still confused but he quickly became worried when he saw his friend's shaking form.

"What happened?" He didn't know if he should approach him or not.

"He's been like this since he woke up, I haven't been able to calm him down."

Lancelot understood why he had called him now.

He cautiously approached Merlin who still hadn't moved from his place in the corner and was breathing heavily.

"It's me Lancelot, I'm not going to hurt you okay. I just want to help you." He waited a bit for his message to sink in before continuing to speak.

"You need help Merlin, can I approach you?" Lancelot was really careful not to scare him further.

He could see Merlin's hesitation at his question, the young man clearly didn't know if he should trust him or not. It hurt him, hurt him but he also understood.

"You... you knew?" He struggled to string his words together to form a sentence but he had to, he needed an answer.

"Merlin you should calm down and we can talk later-"

"No no I want to know now." They could see that he was becoming more and more agitated.

"You were sick a curse, we had no choice. We didn't have time to find something else."

He really wanted to believe his friend but he had no memory just Arthur trying to kill him. Now that he thought about it he had no memory of the last few days.

"What curse?"

"What's the last thing you remember?" Lancelot asked, he was starting to understand the problem. Gauis had warned them that she could affect those memories.

"We were in the forest for a hunt and… and Arthur gave me a poison I was dying and then I woke up." Merlin was confused how he came back from the hunt to find himself in the castle. There was something he was missing here.

Lancelot explained the things he had forgotten: The ruins and his strange behavior since they had returned from the forest.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt anyone." He purposely ignored the part where he tried to hurt himself it wasn't important here, it was just the effect of the curse…

"We know that but you really scared us, you know. We really had no choice but to use this last solution, your time was limited." He then explained Gauis' findings and the solution he proposed.

Merlin had glanced at Arthur during Lancelot's explanation. He seemed to become more and more devastated. And his friend finally became his story and Ahtur couldn't even meet his gaze anymore.

"Thank you." He said it loud enough hoping his king would hear him. He couldn't doubt their story when he saw Arthur so bad for a decision he made when he had saved his life.

"I'm sorry, this is all my fault. If I had listened to you at the beginning all this could have been avoided..." Arthur blamed himself, he almost lost his friend because he was unable to listen to others.

"I don't blame you, on the other hand if you could listen to me more it would have been appreciated especially when I tell you my lord that you make me work too hard." Merlin finally spoke with a smile on his face.

Arthur and Lancelot returned his smile. "I can't agree on this part but maybe other things."

Merlin nodded, that was already a good start.
