Well. The prologue was a mind fuck and a half, wasn't it? Aren't you glad you voted? *laughs manically* You thought my stories would be all rainbows and flowers?! That's Hilarious!
Chapter 1: The Discovery
Firestar woke in a cold sweat in his den. The moon was high in the sky. He shook his head and muttered, "Fucking nightmares. I know I'd never do such a thing. Fuck you Tigerstar. Making me dream about killing and eating the bodies of my mates, is an all time low, even for your ass." Firestar looked around and his heart stopped for a second.
Blood covered the inside of his den. He looked around and saw signs of a struggle. He mewed weakly, "W-Where are Spottedleaf, Olivenose, and Heathertail?" Firestar bolted out of his den and tried to find anyone, but saw no one. He muttered, "Right. The Gathering. B-But why is there so much blood in my den?!" The rain had only worsened and Firestar's eyes wandered back over to his den. He noticed an obvious trail where several cats were dragged out towards the entrance of Thunderclan. Firestar sprinted out of the entrance, following the trail.
Sunnypelt awoke at the sound of Firestar sprinting out of Thunderclan's camp. She looked around and muttered, "W-Where is…. Right. The Gathering. I will never understand why Bramblestar brought the entirety of Thunderclan aside from Firestar, Spottedleaf, and I. If I recall, Olivenose and Heathertail are with Firestar in his den." Sunnypelt got to her paws and walked out of the Warrior's Den. Her eyes widened as she saw a trail of blood and disturbed mud leading out of the Thunderclan Camp. She ran over and took a whiff of the air. She muttered, "That's the scent of Spottedleaf, Olivenose, and Heathertail. And… a hint of Firestar's scent. There's something else, but I can't discern it."
Sunnypelt mewed, "Firestar must've followed this trail. But why?" Her eyes wandered towards Firestar's den and she gasped in disbelief. The entrance of his den was covered in blood. Her eyes immediately shot back to the trail leading out of the camp and she thought to herself, 'The she-cats were dragged out of his den. The blood and disturbed ground signify a struggle. Someone catnapped them! Oh god! Firestar must've gone to investigate the trail! I've gotta catch up to him! Who knows what could be out there in the dark, just waiting for him!' Sunnypelt sprinted towards the entrance, following the trail.
Firestar weaved around obstacles, following the trail, his mind racing. He muttered, "I swear, if you hurt them Tigerstar, I'm gonna enjoy killing you!" Firestar's paws ignited in flames and he shot forward, a sonic-boom echoing throughout the forest.
At The Gathering Island:
Bramblestar had just finished talking about how life in Thunderclan was, when a loud BOOM echoed around the Island. Dovewing fell to her stomach in pain, but was caught by Ivypool. Onestar asked, "The fuck was that?!" Hollyleaf answered, "Firestar is running at full speed currently. I don't know why." The rain began to worsen and it began to downpour on the cats. Mistystar looked up, but saw no clouds covering the moon. She mewed, "Well. Starclan is not angry, so he must just be running for some exercise." Her eyes trickled back down and she gasped. The lake was rising steadily. The lake swallowed up the Stepping Stones. Waves had begun to crash into the Island. She ordered, "EVERYONE! GET TO HIGH GROUND IMMEDIATELY! THAT'S AN ORDER!" The cats obeyed and began scrambling to climb the trees and rocks to reach higher ground.
Back with Firestar:
Firestar arrived at the sandy hollow Thunderclan used for training, his eyes full of tears. There was so much blood splattered across the hollow, it looked like someone had gutted several cats and waved the bodies around, draining them of all blood in them. He whispered weakly, "T-The trail ends here." Firestar looked around for any evidence. He saw a puddle and gulped as he realized this was how his vision started. He warily padded over.
Firestar looked into the puddle and his reflection had blood all over its body. He gulped and opened his maw. He threw up as he saw flesh and bones stuck in his teeth. Firestar began hyperventilating and repeating the same word, "NO!"
Sunnypelt arrived after a few minutes. She heard a Tom saying the same word over and over again. "NO!" said the voice. Sunnypelt walked towards the hollow and saw Firestar standing over a puddle. She almost gagged as she saw the scene. His pelt was drenched in blood. A small puddle had formed between his front legs.
Sunnypelt cautiously padded over. She was about to say something when Firestar looked at her. His eyes were filled with tears that streamed down his face. Firestar fell to his stomach in defeat, bawling his eyes out and trying to form words. Sunnypelt padded over and laid next to him. She pulled him close and Firestar drenched her shoulder with tears. Sunnypelt hushed him with understanding and said sweetly, "Let it out. I'm here now. Tell me what happened."
Firestar sniffled and explained everything. Sunnypelt's eyes widened. She thought to herself, 'That does not sound like something he'd ever do. From what Purdy told me, he loves all of his mates more than life itself. He'd never do something like this. Something smells fishy here and no; it isn't me. Did you forget that I'm a virgin? Get your head out of the gutter, reader.'
Firestar growled, "I-I am going to fucking kill him. If it's the last thing I do, I will end his fucking life. And because of what I did, after I kill him, I will be killing myself. I can no longer be trusted. I-I need to stop this from ever happening again. I will be gutting myself after I kill him." Sunnypelt mewed, "Don't be so hasty. What if it's a ploy to get you to kill yourself."
Firestar snapped, "Do you see their bodies? What was that? Oh, No? I didn't think so. I fucking ate them so I wouldn't be found out. Fuck's sake, their flesh is still stuck between my teeth! It's the least I could do to make sure this type of thing never happens again! I can and will do one more good thing for the forest, before I commit suicide. And that one last good thing, will be murdering Tigerstar! After that, the forest will be on its own."
Sunnypelt thought, 'He has to be the one my body wanted me to find. Anytime I am near him, my body stops wanting me to hunt for the one it wants me to find. Damn it Starclan! What is my purpose here?!' Sunnypelt mewed, "And I will help you do it." Firestar looked at Sunnypelt, his eyes full of grief, anger, hatred, and rage. Sunnypelt continued, "But I will not sit idly by while you embark on a quest of Revenge, not hoping to make it back! You're stuck with me now, Firestar." Firestar yelled, "WHY DO YOU CARE?!"
Sunnypelt flinched at the tone and retorted, "BECAUSE YOU ARE THE FOREST'S HERO! WITHOUT YOU, THE FOREST WILL BE LOST!" Firestar argued, "SO WHAT IF IT IS! I DON'T CARE ANYMORE! LET'S TAKE A NICE LONG LOOK AT WHAT BEING THIS PLACE'S HERO COST ME! IT MADE ME LOSE CONTROL AND KILL THREE OF MY MATES! I BECAME A LEADER WHEN I DIDN'T WANT TO AND WHEN I DIDN'T EARN OR DESERVE IT! STARCLAN BE DAMNED, IT WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME IF THEY KNEW I WAS GOING TO DO THIS, AND THEY DIDN'T TELL ME! ALL I HAVE DONE IS GIVE THIS PLACE MY ALL! AND WHAT DID IT GET ME?! OH RIGHT, IT GOT ME TAKING MY OWN MATES' LIVES! IT GOT ME TARGETED! IT GOT ME FUCKED OVER! IT GOT ME NOTHING BUT PAIN AND RAIN! IT GOT ME KILLED ONCE! IT GOT ME DEPRESSED! IT GOT ME FUCKING UP HISTORY! IT GOT ME ALMOST DYING TIME AND TIME AGAIN JUST TO SAVE PEOPLE! MY FAITH IS NOW GONE! FUCK THEM! I'VE LOST EVERYTHING CAUSE OF STARCLAN! GODS I WISH I WASN'T REINCARNATED! AT LEAST I'D BE IN A BETTER PLACE THAN THIS HELLHOLE!"
Sunnypelt mewed, "W-Wait. What did you say?"
In Starclan:
Tallstar walked over to Bluestar and asked, "Have you found Firestar?" Bluestar replied, "No. I haven't been able to find him since last night. We need to ask if he's alright. Go see someone else. Try Mothwing." Tallstar snorted in amusement and said, "You really think we can even contact her? She has lost faith in us."
Bluestar mewed matter-of-factly, "I know Mothwing believes in us, even if it just a little bit. That's more than enough for us to talk to her now." Tallstar sighed and said, "Fine. I'll talk to her. Maybe I'll tell her the prophecy too. Can't wait until she laughs at me for thinking she believes in us."
Tallstar padded away, grumbling angrily. He muttered, "Oh gee. Can't wait to try to reach out to her and find nothing. Fucking Bluestar." He felt himself connect to a dream and he said, "No shot." He appeared in an empty space with a cat that looked like Mothwing in front of him. He muttered, "I don't believe it. Well. Here we go."
At the Gathering Island:
Mothwing was on top of a tree and yawned. She muttered, "Geez. I need some sleep." Mothwing laid down on the branch she was on and closed her eyes.
Mothwing's eyes shot open. She looked around and realized she was in an empty space with the stars above her. She said, "W-Wait. This isn't the usual dream I have. Where's the field? Where's the mice I hunt? The hell is going on?" Mothwing looked straight ahead and gasped as she saw a black and white cat with a long tail and amber eyes walking towards her. Her eyes wandered up and she saw a star on the Cat's head. She muttered, "W-Wait. Who is that?"
The cat sat down in front of her and said, "My name is Tallstar. I am a member of Starclan." Mothwing locked eyes with Tallstar and sat down. She asked, "Why are you here? You all know I don't believe in Starclan because of Hawkfrost." Tallstar chuckled lightly and said, "You used to not believe in us. But ever since Firestar introduced you to Spottedleaf and she explained why Hawkfrost wasn't punished for faking the mothwing sign, your faith has been being restored slowly, but surely. That is the only reason why I can talk to you in your dreams." Mothwing looked down and said, "So what if it is being slowly restored? Aren't you all mad at me?!"
Tallstar chortled and replied, "No. We aren't. We completely understand why you lost your faith. But I am here to restore it by giving you a prophecy." Mothwing immediately looked at Tallstar in disbelief but Tallstar's voice changed as he mewed, "When hope has voluntarily banished, and blood rises once again, Lady Luck will call upon those that disappeared, and all blood will be cleansed by North Star." Tallstar slowly began to vanish. Mothwing asked swiftly, "Wait a damn second! Why me?! Why would you tell me?!" Tallstar smiled and said, "Because we know how much being a Medicine Cat means to you. This is the part of being a Medicine Cat you missed out on because of Hawkfrost's betrayal. Do with it as you will." Tallstar fully vanished. Mothwing took in what Tallstar had said and muttered, "Blood rises again, hope voluntarily banished, Lady Luck?! All blood will be cleansed by North star?! The fuck does Tallstar mean?! God damn. Jayfeather is right. Starclan is vague as hell. However." Mothwing bounded up and down as she said gleefully, "Starclan isn't mad at me! And he was right. My faith is fully restored! God! I haven't felt this good and happy since I first became a full Medicine Cat Apprentice before I found out Hawkfrost faked the sign!"
Mothwing jolted awake, gasping for breath. Willowshine was beside her and she asked, "Are you alright, Mothwing?" Mothwing looked at her and mewed shakily, "Y-Yeah. I'm fine. Actually. I'm better than fine. I'm wonderful!" Mothwing got to her paws swiftly, a pep in her step. Willowshine looked at her mentor and thought to herself, 'What has gotten into her? Well. She seems happy, so I won't pry.'
Back with Firestar and Sunnypelt:
Firestar spat, "You heard me." Sunnypelt asked, "Reincarnated?! You were reincarnated?! Are you the original Firestar?" Firestar shook his head no and spat, "No. I am not. I was a twoleg who was murdered in cold blood. The original leaders of Tigerclan and Lionclan plucked my soul the moment I was killed and dropped me in this body as it was born. They did it to give me a second shot at life, being able to do what I always wanted to. Prevent others from going through what I had to go through. Helping people, hunting things, the family business." Firestar looked directly towards an imaginary camera and looked back at Sunnypelt. He continued, "Jokes aside, I was reincarnated to help people."
Sunnypelt took in what Firestar had said and replied, "So… if you were chosen to be reborn by the original leaders of Lionclan and Tigerclan, that means you were a good person." Firestar snorted and said, "I was far from good. I wasn't necessarily evil, but I thought of myself as true neutral, with a preference towards being good. Also, you better not breathe a word of what I told you to anyone." Sunnypelt had noticed a change in Firestar as the constant downpour of rain cleaned his pelt of blood, causing a red puddle to form below him. She thought to herself, 'He seems to get calmer and calmer as the blood is washed away. Interesting.' She shook her head and mewed, "Well. We have a journey to get to. And don't even try to order me to stay behind. According to the code that you made, I can kindly tell you to go fuck yourself if I think the order is a bad one." Firestar laughed weakly and said, "I suppose you can. Fine. Let's go. But stay the hell out of the way of my revenge." Firestar padded away from the sandy hollow and began walking towards Riverclan's border. Sunnypelt thought to herself, 'Well. I have no clue where we are going. But I think this is what I am supposed to be doing currently. Good grief.' Sunnypelt ran to catch up to Firestar. Once she got beside him she said, "Lead the way, Firestar."
Well. Damn. Talk about a vague prophecy (at least I hope so). What do you think? Be honest! May Starclan watch over you all! HappytheExceed16, signing out!
