InuYasha and Kagome remained silent while their parents simply observed them. Kagome felt the weight of uncertainty in her stomach and squeezed InuYasha's hand more tightly—the same hand he had held with a firmness even greater than what he had used moments ago to announce to their families that they had decided to marry. Kagome looked out the window, searching for calm amidst her emotions, and was captivated by the magic of the first snowfall of the year, beginning to descend just in time for Christmas.
