AN: Alright, it's been a year but I'm back. I was honestly very distracted the past year. My mother passed away shortly after Mother's Day last year after a long battle with cancer so that took a toll. Then my sister got married a few months later. Finally, if you look on my profile, other ideas took over my brain and I wanted to get my foot in the door with those.
Honestly, the biggest thing I feel was a factor is I'm getting somewhat disinterested in MHA actually for the time being. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the series and what other fanfictions and author's have done, but the spark has dwindled. Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the fic, but you guys get what I'm saying?
In just one day, the news about All Might was teaching at U.A. High quickly spread to everyone, causing reporters to quickly gather at U.A. for two days straight. This unfortunately brought great annoyance and suffering to numerous students.
"What's it like being taught by All Might himself?" asked one reporter eagerly, rudely shoving a microphone into Izuku's face. Smacking it away, he stormed off, leaving Robbie, Kamala and Laura behind
"Who?" Robbie asked dumbly, grinning as he melted a mic that was forced onto him before leaving.
"He some kind of body builder?" Kamala joked before enlarging her fist and crushing a mic and following Robbie. The reporters nervously looked at Laura who merely yawned.
"I'm too tired to give a shit." She drawled, merely opting to smack a camera onto the pavement and breaking it.
For the next few hours, class went on as normal. Midnight briefed them on their previous hero trial, telling them she'd be discussing with them one on one how they did. She also gave them a brief plan for the year in regards to what she had planned for them during their hero course. The rest of class before lunch was to be spent on picking a class president, which of course devolved into pandemonium that Izuku and Laura slept through. A while later, it was lunch time.
"I can't believe I'm class president," voiced Izuku as he ate a cheeseburger he made and brought from home. Around him were the usual crowd: Kamala, Laura, Ochako, Momo, Mina, Kyoka, Tenya, Robbie and Ibarra.
"Why would you be so surprised?" asked Momo as she got an extra large serving of her lunch, one heavy in fats for her Quirk. Izuku glanced at the taller girl, who was currently digging in.
"Don't want to sound like that, but it's not exactly something high on my list of priorities." He said with a shrug before finishing his burger.
"And that means?" Mina trailed off. Izuku rolled his eyes.
"I'll delegate it to Harmony." He muttered. Mina may be cute and fun, but she wasn't the brightest bulb.
"Love you too boss." Harmony said sarcastically, the mental image of a girl sticking her tongue out somehow crossing their minds. Izuku glared at the ceiling.
"Don't give me that. You're in UAs's security system, you're running my apartment building and lab. This is nothing." Izuku ranted and boasted. His friends sweatdropped at the sight of him arguing with his AI, yet they still giggled. Leaving the green genius to his devices, everyone conversed with each other instead
"But Iida-san, didn't you want to be class president?" asked Ochako, and it did make sense, considering he brought up the idea to vote for the president.
"Wanting to be it and suitable for it are two very different things," replied Tenya, "I merely did what I judged to be correct."
Ochako huffed as she continued to eat her food, seeing his point. She and the others were already familiar enough with Tenya by this point that they knew he was part of a family that had been heroes for generations, and that he was the little brother of a rather famous hero, Ingenium. You pick a thing or two up in that family.
VREEEEE
Suddenly, a screeching alarm went off in the cafeteria, followed by an announcement.
"Level 3 Security Breach detected. All students are to evacuate outside in a swift and orderly manner."
"What's a Level 3 Security Breach?" Tenya promptly asked an upperclassman that stood up.
"It means someone infiltrated onto the grounds!" yelled the upperclassmen, "In my three years here, this has never happened before! We have to get out of here!" He ordered. As one, everyone got up except Izuku, Laura, Kamala and Robbie.
"Okay, let's see who we're dealing with." Izuku muttered, knowing Harmony already got a bead on what was happening. Outside was the swarm of reporters from this morning, having gained entry from a now disintegrated front gate. Rewinding the footage, it went to someone in a disguise that hid all their features, grab the gate and destroy it. The crook alerted the press and slipped in with the crowd. Izuku raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, clever. Step above the rest. Now what do you want?" he said appraisingly before Harmony skimmed through the footage, quickly landing onto the interloper skimming quickly through some files, careful not to activate their Quirk.
"So an espionage mission? Mmmm, sloppy. Aunt Natasha would be disappointed. Now to fuck with you." Izuku said in disappointment before proceeding to mess with the criminal. Turning an icon on his tablet, an annoying buzzing noise filled the room the spy was in, making him look around wildly. Stopping it for the time being, the spy continued their work, grabbing a drawer only for Harmony to make it fall out violently, smashing his foot. As he bounced around holding his foot, everything else in the room seemingly came to life, making his paranoia go through the roof. Panicking, the spy eventually found what he was looking for before having his friend warp him out. Izuku chuckled.
"Hehehehe. Harmony, if you would." He ordered, seeing as the real threat was gone and there wasn't any actual danger anymore. The intercom blared back to life.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please return back to your seats and class. Everything is under control. To the interlopers, your faces are documented and the police are currently being notified." Harmony announced, with the trespassers slumping down in defeat.
Meanwhile, at the front gate of U.A., Nezu glared at the entrance door. It had been completely destroyed, and he knew no reporter could have done this. From a glance, it looked like the doors had disintegrated. Despite Harmony's efforts, she was unable to get a good look at the individual in question, although they now knew that they needed contact with all five fingers in order to activate their quirk as well as they had a partner with a warp quirk.
"Just who instigated this whole thing," murmured Nezu, "And did they slip in to get something…. or did they just want to declare war?"
Line
It was a nice and sunny day. The birds were singing while the bakers were putting out fresh bread. People were heading to wherever they needed to. All seemed peaceful...
"Listen, heroes! Don't come after me, otherwise, I'll kill this unfortunate family!" shouted an enormous muscular villain named Trapezius Head Gear, who currently held a family of three in his right arm.
Mt. Lady, Kamui Wood, and another hero could only grit their teeth at their helplessness. The villain was strong and fast, and Mt. Lady could not use her titan form in fear of harming the hostages and instead focused on keeping the area clear. As the villain seemed to start bragging, they all heard a voice.
"Have no fear, family! Missouri Smash!"
All Might dashed right past the villain from behind and karate chopped him in the head, instantly knocking him out while securing the family to safety.
"Why? Because I am here while on my way to work!" declared All Might, causing the crowd that had formed near the incident to cheer. As he put the sobbing family down and saluted the officers for their hard work, his ears could not help but pick up another cry for help.
"It's a hit-and-run!"
Despite the fact he would be running late to work, All Might could not ignore the cry for help and ran towards the scene. Besides, it's not like he had a drastically short time limit these days or anything. In the shadows, a brownish green humanoid looked at the number one hero and cracked his large hands.
While All Might was out and about saving the day, his step son was in less than enjoyable circumstances. Forced onto a bus for the lesson in heroics for the day, the class of rowdy teens, garbed in their hero outfits, were making a ruckus as they were driven off campus. Of course, Laura and Izuku were using this as a chance to nap, unaware of the sneaking glances that were shot his way for various reasons.
His nap was interrupted by Tsuyu gently nudging him awake.
"As you might know, I tend to generally say what's on my mind," stated Tsuyu before turning to Izuku, "Izuku-chan, what is your Quirk?" Everyone perked up at this, curious as to what the class president and number one students Quirk was. It was so versatile yet unique that nobody could figure it out, save his friends who remained tight lipped.
"I'm quirkless." He said nonchalantly, making almost everyone's eyes widen in shock, save for the ones who were already in on it.
"Then how did you do all that stuff with that tech?" Denki asked.
"I'm suuuuuuper smart dude." Izuku drawled, taking on a vaguely stoned voice.
"How smart?" Toru asked, leaning forward in curiosity if her clothes were any indication.
"My dad made a ramshackle war suit that was bulletproof, had flight, flamethrower and I think machine guns in a cave with nothing but a box of scraps. I've picked some things up from him and others way smarter." Izuku explained plainly, driving home just how smart he was. He sat up straighter seeing he had a crowd gathering.
"My entire adopted family are technically quirkless. Laura and Kamala came from that dimension and- he started before seeing the dumbfounded stares. He rolled his eyes.
"Don't give me that look. You know it isn't that far-fetched." He deadpanned, creating a semi awkward tension that was broken by Shoko of all people.
"That's cool." she muttered in deadpan, making everyone crack up and laugh. Unbeknownst to them, she cracked a small smile.
"All I have is my quirk Hardening. It's good in a fight, but it's not very flashy." Eiko pouted childishly, even crossing her arms under her bust. Izuku merely patted her shoulder,
"Look, Eiko, can I call you Eiko? You have a quirk in the first place, that's more than some people. Be grateful. Anyway, I digress." said Izuku, latching onto the different subject, "Your quirk's more than enough to go pro." He said supportively. He brought out his phone.
"Besides, sometimes the simple powers work best. Hold on." He said, pulling up a hologram on his phone. On it was a VERY big, muscular black man. He was dressed in a hoodie, was bald with a beard and overall looked like a thug.
"This is Luke Cage, a hero from that dimension. Same power as yours basically, along with some extra strength." He explained. The students watched as the hero stood there defending some kids behind him, dozens of bullets peppering him harmlessly and bouncing off. Next, some random thug went to punch his face but to everyone's shock, the aggressors hand broke on contact. As he cradled his hand, Cage grabbed him and threw him many meters away effortlessly.
"Oof, that was brutal." Momo said, leaning over onto Izuku to watch. Of course, said boy stiffened up when he felt her impressive chest rest on his shoulder, not that she noticed. They also didn't notice the subtle glares Ochako, Mina and Kyoka shot at them. Kamala chimed in.
"Believe it or not he's one of the lower level heroes we have." She said passionately pulling up photos of some of the stronger heroes such as Black Bolt, Colossus and Namor.
"How strong are the strongest?" Bakugo asked out of the blue, surprising everyone considering how anti-social he was.
"We've got a few on par with and even stronger than All Might." Izuku said, making everyone's jaws drop. Ochako can only nod in confirmation. Everyone went silent at the revelation. Before it got too awkward, the bus pulled to a stop.
"Oh we're here." Izuku announced, prompting everyone to depart.
They all got off the bus to see a large dome building before seeing someone in a large space suit waiting for them as well as two familiar faces.
"Everyone, I have been waiting for you!" declared the person in the large space suit.
"Oh my gosh, it's the Space Hero No. 13!" gushed Ochako. "She's my favorite hero!" Izuku waved at the other female hero there.
"Hi mom!" Izuku said cheerfully, shooting a smile towards his mother, which she returned. Izuku looked pompously towards their third teacher.
"So Hobo-Sensei, what are you doing here? Nezu-san took pity on you and gave you a job?" He taunted, eliciting a growl from the homeless hero. Without skipping a beat, Inko snapped at her son.
"Izuku, you're grounded." She said sternly, making him deflate and drawing some giggles from his friends.
"Worth it." He muttered under his breath, which Kyoka heard and couldn't help but snort. Aizawa sighed.
"If you must know, problem child, I'm on probation in a sense. Damned rat did not like the lesson plans you sent him." He explained. Izuku huffed dramatically.
"Well they were some crappy plans, so tough." He snarked, taking up the front of the class. They were swiftly led into the domed building to see so many variations of rescue training areas, all built to simulate real time disaster.
"It looks like Universal Studio Japan!" said Eiko and Mina, gushing like fangirls
"Flood zone, landslide, fire, etc," stated Thirteen proudly, "Every natural disaster you could imagine, I've created a simulation of it. I built this facility myself. I call this place the 'Unseen Simulation Joint'! Otherwise known as USJ!"
'So it is USJ,' thought all the students at once.
"Thirteen, where's All Might?" asked Shota, "He's supposed to be here." Inko chuckled.
"You know how my husband is. Can't resist the urge to be a hero and help people." She said with a giggle. Just one of the things she loved about him. Every student that wasn't in the loop locked onto Izuku with a crazed look.
"Dude, All Might is your step dad?" Mina asked, grabbing onto his clothes and shaking him like a madman, their faces dangerously close. Before she could get carried away, Kamala enlarged her hand and grabbed the pink girl by the waist
"Can we not do this now?" Izuku whined in embarrassment.
Thirteen began to speak about her quirk and just how dangerous it was. Thirteen continued to explain how each teacher's trials had expanded on their own hidden potential and the dangers of using them against someone.
"This class will show you a new perspective!" lectured Thirteen, "You will learn to utilize your quirks to save lives! You all have powers that are not meant to harm others, but to protect and save! I hope that after this day, you will leave with the understanding that you are all meant to help people. Thank you for listening."
As Thirteen bowed, the students clapped at her speech.
"She's so awesome!" clapped Ochako enthusiastically before feeling something beckon her.
"Hey, what's that over there?" she asked, pointing at a golden stick with a leather strap embedded in the ground at the bottom of the stairs leading to USJ. Izuku dashed to the front and gasped when he saw the item in question.
"No way." he muttered before making his way over, everyone save two distracted by Thirteen giving a brief history the mysterious object.
"We honestly have no idea what it is." she said in embarrassment.
"One day it just crashed from the ceiling. We tried everything we could to get rid of it. I used my Quirk, we tried melting it, even had All Might try and move it. Didn't even budge." she said, still somewhat in awe of the mysterious object that couldn't be moved. Despite all that, they left it be, both because it wasn't doing anything and because USJ was already built. Her musings were interrupted when she saw Stark reach for it.
"Stark don't!" She called out but it was too late. Grabbing the handle, Izuku used his whole body to no avail. Making a gauntlet, he tried using mini rockets to help but to no avail.
"Yup, I figured. Kamala, Laura, want a shot at it?" Izuku muttered, slapping his hand on his thigh in disappointment before calling his friends over. Like Izuku, Kamala and Laura met the same result. Seeing the incredulous look on everyone's face, he eased their worries.
"Don't worry, I've dealt with a similar situation before. You've got nothing to worry about. C'mon you guys. Live a little!" Izuku cheered and like a dam, all the other teens rushed forward and attempted to move the object. One by one they tried and they failed all the same. Momo tried to create something to help her move it. Eiko hardened her body and slammed into it full force and to her surprise, hurt herself a little. Bakugo simply tried blowing it up.
"So what exactly is this thing?" Thirteen asked Izuku, who stood by his side as everyone made an attempt. Izuku smiled.
"Just a very important test." he said cryptically, smiling as Ochako went up last and gave it a shot. Despite meeting the same result, she had a large smile. Before Thirteen could press further, an electrical surge traveled through all the lights, dimming the whole room by a noticeable amount. All three pro heroes, as well as the three experienced teens, suddenly knew something was wrong while a chill crawled up their spine.
Suddenly, a dark purple rift appeared in front of the fountain that was in the middle of the whole dome. The rift suddenly expanded, the purple mist spreading wide. As the pro heroes directed their attention to it, out came a hand, followed by a face with a severed hand on it.
"Gather up and don't move!" shouted Shota, scaring the students.
Seeing their protective nature, the students couldn't help but obey as villains began to flood the area from the mist. The most prominent ones were the man with multiple severed fake hands all around his body and face, the giant humanoid with its brain clearly visible, and the purple mist that slowly reformed into a human figure.
"So they're the scum responsible for trespassing," growled Shota as he put on his goggles.
"Where is he?" stated the man with hands all over his body and face, "Where is All Might? I even went through the trouble of bringing all these people, too. All Might... The Symbol of Peace... I wonder if he'll come if we kill some kids?"
The fact he said that so nonchalantly and loudly for all of them to hear sent shivers down quite a few student's spines.
"Villains!? How'd they get in here!?" shouted Eiko.
"Yea, who'd be stupid enough to sneak into a school for heroes?"
"Harmony, call for help." Izuku ordered but to his horror, he got nothing. Either they knew ahead of time of her existence or whatever was jamming the connection was too powerful. Considering how much of a hail mary the invasion was, he was betting on the latter.
"Oh this isn't good. Some kind of jamming Quirk has to be used. I've lost contact with Harmony." Izuku muttered darkly, drawing gasps all around.
"Does that mean they are only here or at the whole school?" stated Shoko, allowing herself to be led away by Inko alongside the rest of the class. All of them unaware of Izuku, Kamala and Laura staying behind and in fact making their way to the invaders.
"And since we're isolated away from the main campus," continued Laura. "During a time where we're scheduled to be here. That means nobody knows what's happening here. Quite smart for a bunch of fools." she growled, cracking her neck in anticipation. Kamala sighed.
"A broken clock is right twice a day." she said in disappointment before the two girls looked to their leader.
"Well, it's clear Handjob, Fart Cloud and Frankenstein are the big boys. Everyone else is fodder." Izuku explained, giving insulting nicknames to those who were clearly in charge. Laura chuckled.
"I know what you're thinking Izuku, and I'm for it." she said, clearly getting more and more pumped up for what was to come. Kamala began stretching, her limbs lengthening to comical proportions.
"You know we're supposed to be evacuating right?" she said, not like she was going to herself.
"Yeah, I don't really care much. Besides, they're here to kill the big man himself, clearly Frankenstein is their secret weapon. Good chance Handjob Is who snuck in while Fart Cloud has the warp Quirk." Izuku said, shaking his head as he formed the most basic armor around himself. While he wouldn't have anything like stealth mode or his drones without Harmony, his sword, cannon and flight would be enough. Taking a breath, Izuku hopped over the ledge of the platform and began plummeting straight down.
"Hopelessly outmatched, odds against us." Kamala said, following her leader down, using the numerous divots of the rock to make her way down.
"Typical Tuesday." Laura said, a bloodthirsty grin on her face, opting to slide down the cliff and drag her hand against it to control her speed.
AN: and we're at USJ. Obviously things will go very differently than canon, given Izuku's suit, Kamala and Laura being involved, All Might at full strength, etc. But don't worry, I've got a few plans to shake things up. Foreshadowed two things in this chapter. The 'balancing' as it were. Next chapter is the violence.
