Kawanakajima:of grudges and bonds
The skies atop echigo and kai were gold and orange… reflecting the dawn of a new day, however… the moon had a slight crimson glint, a suspiscious omen… but not one that bothered the two warriors who stood in opposite hills of kawanakajima.
An old battlefield near a river, which held the zenkoji shrine… that once served as the historical battleground of the amicable nemeses of shingen takeda of kai, and kenshin uesugi of echigo… and now, in orochi's world… it shall reveal the truth of who truly is fighting by their own will…
Uesugi main camp.
Great god bishamonten… grant me the power to reveal the truths of shingen's soul… and the power to see that he's truly himself when fighting…- kenshin was on a prayer to the god of war, as he asked either for his help (be it through the mystics or his power), or to just give him clarity over the issue at hand…
takeda main camp
If there's one thing i know that dragon for, is that he's truly stubbornly determined when fighting, but that he's also a master strategist, thus, if he fights with the same vigor as all other battles…- shingen pondered.
Then it means that lord kenshin is not under any spell, and we can truly reunite the coalition, thus having an edge in this chaotic world.- sakon finished, realizing the intent of his lord.
However… that still means dealing with the dragon at his mightiest, for he too doesn't know we're ourselves and not brainwashed…
If that devilish eye hadn't separed us… then we could just gloss this over…-shingen tried to curse.- but who am i kidding, kenshin and i would still end up fighting, even for a friendly sparring…
When you think about it… that is what this is… a friendly sparring to see if two friends are truly themselves… it's indeed quite the twist…- sakon, resumed in his own account.
And with a grin, shingen pointed his fan to his nemesis.- well said sakon… now, the die is cast, and once masayuki and kunoichi return from their scouting mission… we shall see if the dragon has not been chained.
Shall we prepare the woodpecker strategy…- sakon suggested.
Well then, what makes you think it's the best strategy?.- shingen asked, knowing the countless times kenshin read the stratagem like a book and surpassed it.
The fact he managed to counter it… look at it this way my lord: kenshin has been able to flawlessly counter our strategies and forced us to either improvise and plot a counterattack… thus we've seen the dragon at his finest… thus we know how he fights when he's free and himself…- sakon explained.

It was the fact their foe, if they controlled shingen, could possibly know and remember orochi's world… be in liason with the demons… or possibly foresee events…
Don't worry miss aya.- the brothers Heard the voice of kanetsugu naoe.- we have been through many conflicts against injustice and evil, and justice has always prevailed… and knowing the sanada clan, then i can bet my heart that shingen's is on the right place.

It seems bishamonten has answered us… and gave us a signal… that shingen indeed is himself.

While an odd warning… kanetsugu would worry about it in due time… for now, he would celebrate seeing his friend, alive once again.
A few minutes ago… cookie country, kanto province (this will be oddly funny as a running gag.)
The dead of night, a solemn canopy of the woodlands that once brimmed with life welcome the sanada's current leader, as well as a shinobi who's a good friend of them…
For the shinobi, the dead of night, the darkness normally is a welcome friend and part of their job…
So… can't feel but ask… am i really going forward?- she said, confused.
but this time… it felt odd, repulsive even… as if this woodlands aren't the same ones she knows…
-the trees here feel unnatural, more vivid and vibrant… yet not belonging here… not to mention the one that seemed to be alive… yet didn't resemble any sort of youkai…
Considering she saw a tree with eyes sleeping a Little ago… yup, she ain't in kanto's natural woodlands… however, she wouldn't resist laughing at the bandages in the tree's face…
Anyways… nothing here, nothing there… not a single soul…- her vigilance was met with silence and nothingness… she was a Little flustered, but nothing she couldn't manage.
Have you seen anything kunoichi?- she Heard the voice of her lord, masayuki call out.
Nope, nothing here… and is not the silence of waryness and expectancy that would prelude an ambush… but real silence, alone… in this canopy.- she told him
This isn't good…- he began to wonder.- these woodlands are unnatural to these lands, there's not a single trace nor footstep to mark the prescence of soldiers… nor there's a clear rout we can see… then that means…
That this time orochi's world… might have fused different worlds?- that tought did indeed unnerve the kunoichi… who was currently going as kunoichi as her name (odd, one could say), for she didn't knew what sort of worlds, dangers and people loomed in the lands, and also because kiyomori has more groundwork to usurp them… not to mention not knowing if the newcomers are allies or hostiles…

This… this is completely unexpected… are they alive?- he asked, worried, as the sight of two people unconscious, and with odd clothes meant one thing: these two were not from their world…
As in on cue, kunoichi gently poked the Young girl, before checking her heart for pulses… (something ryu hayabusa taught her back in their third war against orochi)… -pheew… yup, they're alive.
Yawn… who's that?...- penny woke up from her surprising snap… and in front of her… she saw kunoichi… and her swords…
UAAAAAAAAAAH!, please don't hurt me and my gramps!.- penny exclaimed in shock, guiding her hand to her chest… for one of the few tricks she had, was that the heart of her suit could turn into a missile, thinking she was in front of a dangerous person.

Well, you can't know my name (i don't even know myself)… but i usually go by kunoichi, nice to meet you.- kunoichi presented herself.
Ok… well, glad to meet you kunoichi.- penny said… until something kicked in…- wait, by the way you dress… are you a shinobi?
Huh… yes, a kunoichi to be exact (hence my name).- she answered.
-OH MY GOD!, i'm meeting a real kunoichi… if kat and ana where here…
Before penny could finish the idea… kat and ana arrived.
Well… we're here… glad to see you penny.- kat was glad her friend was safe…- this forest was quite tricky to travel…

The sun transformed into a snake's eye, it was frightening… and it seemed it was staring right at us…

But it was too late, as a flash of light consumed all, we Heard the sounds of terrain being unnaturally extracted from the land…
But somehow, we lacked the energy to keep standing… and fell unconscious…
However… i remember it clearly… behind the snake's eye, there was a defeated look, as it whoever did this… was not benefiting at all, and rather was forced… but beyond that… everything's fuzzy.

I'm worried about our friends, wario, mona, dribble spitz, the volts, Jimmy t… where they are?- penny asked… somberly.
Well… i might not know where your friends are… but i can offer you help in finding them.- masayuki offered.
Sniff… thanks.- penny calmed down.
Kunoichi… and if possible, kat, ana… find a route to escape the forest.- he ordered.

- it indeed makes sence… but the second inquiry, she said (refering to penny), that the hydra was suffering… if our foe was able to use the hydra itself to complete the fusión… is he a god?- kanetsugu became worried…

Fang, bean and bark were indeed enjoying beating the former world breaking hydra to a pulp…
You know, this is the perfect catharsis after allways losing to that hedgehog.- fang exclaimed.
And testing my new bombs on such a cruel guy always makes me grin.- bean exclaimed as another beaker went and destroyed the hydra's teeth.
As for bark… he was finding the irony of the god of destruction being unable to fight back… hilarious.

So… that's what has been happening…- kunoichi finished.
It's indeed interesting how different this world seems… while we expected our friends from china… for other worlds to be fused with ours seems very odd… as if plotted ahead.- kanetsugu bemused and suspected.- at least seeing you alive and well brings me joyful tears…
It's indeed a shared honour to meet you once again…-yukimura was glad of seeing his friend.- even if the circumstances aren't what we wished to be our reunion…- he expressed.

So, you're the kid kunoichi and father found in the Woods… it's an honor to meet you.- he said.
Penny was eager to meet such a legend from history… (blame meeting kunoichi, and kat and ana's eager delight… was too contagious.), thus, in an atempt to calm down… she presented herself.- same thing… name's penny crygor, an inventor, scientist and future Singer… and you're sanada yukimura… a legend back home.
Woah… so the tales of the samurai still live on even on your era…- yukimura reflected on such a statement…
Yup, you're one of the most legendary figures in history, your last charge in tennojiguchi, the sanada maru… an inspiration for many.- she told him.

Penny… well then… you have my support… just be careful… for things are different than back home.- dr. Crygor knew his niece too well, she was eager, stubborn, friendly and caring… if a bit hurrying… however, he knew she would do anything to help a friend… even then, the danger was there.
Well then…-shingen pondered…- how about this, you and kunoichi shall work together, kunoichi as your eyes in the battlefield, then you'll design tactics to gain advantage against kenshin's forces… how's that?- the tiger of kai proposed.
Ok, count me in.- for as much planning as penny tends to do when inventing… she had no experience when it came to tactics… however, she was clever when planning for machines, experiments and contraptions… so long as she visualized the battlefield as one big puzzle… her mind would flow accordingly and she could form tactics, if that failed… then her perspective would change to be that of a chess match…
Now then…
As the soldiers of the takeda and uesugi marched… shingen and kenshin returned back from their reminiscense…
Nemesis… this will be the battle to decide it all… to finally see the truth of the matter.- kenshin solemnly proclaimed.
Well then… if it is as such… i shall not dissapoint you.- shingen retorted to his rival.
(i hope you're there… kenshin.)- shingen muttered, his mind hoping for his nemesis to be on his free will.
A sentiment shared by kenshin…
As the two rose their weapons… a simple order would kickstart it all.
CHARGE!- and with that proclamation… both armies rushed to the battlefield…
As kawanakajima would decide the conflict's outcome.
As for uyijasu and co… they arrive just as the battle starts.
Are we late?...- a tired bea proclaimed.
Nope, we're just in time.- uyijasu said, with a knowing grin…

The clash of armies was Heard across the valley… as from the river sakon led a small plateau to flank the uesugi main camp…
-This way, we shall corner them here and NOW!.
Predictable.- kenshin smirked…
And as if on cue, kanetsugu and officers of the uesugi appeared to trap sakon.
Looks like the dragon's already has seen it through… (it always happens, even though the woodpecker is quite the brilliant strategy)- he pondered in snide.
Thus he swung his cleaver, cutting through hundred soldiers (but trying to not kill them… if there's one thing kenshin and shingen agree on, is that their battles shall not end with deaths on their end, be it through their respect… and now, the upcoming new enemy.
Didn't make fighting kageie kagizaki, shingenaga honjo and kagemochi amakasu any easier…
Even on a friendly battle you don't slacker kenshin… bringing powerhouses to an ambush… well played.- sakon was impressed… but then he stabbed the ground so hard it created a shockwave…- but even great plans could topple if not calculated to the finer detail.- he proceeded to grab kagemochi, and threw him towards kageie and shingenaga…
Thus leaving him with kanetsugu.
So… the warrior of justice's next… this ought to be interesting… show me what you got kanetsugu.- sakon was glad to see his old ally from the toyotomi days once again… but once again, they're meant to fight.
Your tactics are equal to your honor… thus, what do you intend to do?- kanetsugu asked, as he rose his sword and his sealing tags.
Let's just say that it's all about breaking through a wall.- sakon hinted… with a hint of pride.
As for shingen…
We see again, nemesis.- shingen swung his fan on the direction of kenshin… trying to distract him to grab his nemesis.
And it looks like you haven't rusted…- a slight grin was forming on kenshin's face…
The two swung at each other… occationally back to back as they took down soldier after soldier, clearing the main steppe from allies and foes.
The god of war shall be satisfied by this battle.- kenshin proclaimed.
But that you KO'd the most soldiers doesn't mean you'll win nemesis… for your lead could become a disadvantage at any moment.- shingen retorted.
In the hill uyijasu was looking at the battle, leon couldn't help but frown… kenshin's flawless swordsmanship reminding him of grand's scythe mastery….
He didn't like that feeling one bit, as for bibi and nita… while not as scarred, they could still feel the brutal finesse of each blow… an anatema to their brawls.
On the takeda main camp, penny was overlooking the map of the plains…
Hey kunoichi… try using the rooftops of zenkoji.- after a quick peek, she told the shinobi over a communicator…
Ok…- kunoichi was surprised with how advanced technology has gotten through the ages of the future…- if devices as such can allow people from distance to communicate as if they were near each other… i can imagine the possibilities…-as she threw some shurikens onto the soldiers, before swinging the blade of her shiranui blades onto the soldiers near zenkoji…- ok penny, the coast is clear… (an odd phrase).
Uh huh, great work- penny was glad to Hear that-did anyone die?- she asked, preocupied for the enemy.
Nope, just a Little headache after they wake up.- kunoichi answered
Ok, now go provide support onto sakon, that ambush could have weakened him long enough.- penny told her.
On it.- and like the wind, kunoichi was off… heading onto the Riverside of kawanakajima…
But penny Heard the galloping of horses from nearby…
What was that?- she mentally questioned…
As from the bushes, kat and ana kept an eye on their friend…
Did you hear that ana?- kat asked her sister.
Yes… and it seemed near… penny might be in danger…- ana was beginning to worry.
Well… we're here… so how about we pull our own trick.- kat proposed.
Yeah.- with a nod, ana agreed with her sister… thus they prepared to jump at anything that would head penny's way…
As for masayuki... he and a good friend of the sanada clan, naiki takanashi, were rushing through the outposts of the valley…
Lord masayuki… "Pant…" we have managed to secure all outposts… and so far it seems like we're winning the battle…- naiki said…
It would look like that… but kenshin's a wise opponent… he could be feigning weakness in order to ambush us…- the caution expressed by masayuki couldn't be meassured. He Knew what kenshin was truly capable of…
Returning to the river… and kanetsugu and sakon we're in a standstill… as sakon would order his troops to provide support fire or swing his cleaver with enough forcé to create waves and tremors…
Kanetsugu managed to repel the bullets through divine energy of his talismans… or use them as a makeshift projectile to avoid fighting near sakon…
Gotta admit… you truly fight well kanetsugu.- sakon complimented…-but that defensive approach, is he trying to delay me… for he could have taken countless chances to try and gain an edge.- sakon began to wonder…
You equally fought well sakon… and i can see you fight with passion and honor… which i'm glad…- kanetsugu expressed relief at that.
Well… who said the battle was over?- sakon boasted… as he began to prepare a swing…
And from behind kanetsugu, a familiar shadow was cast.
Nani?!- kanetsugu was caught of guard… as kunoichi grined.
Well… shocked to see an old friend?- and then she jumped, fully intending to kick kanetsugu…
He blocked with his sword… but was unable to guide his talismans to form a barrier to protect his back…
GRAAH.- and with one swing, kanetsugu was thrown a considerable distance… injured in the anckle… but no major wounds otherwise…
I've seen enough… victory's yours.- and with a noble smile, he began to retreat…
Tell yukimura that I hope that we cross paths as allies against our true enemy.- he requested.
Ok… take care kanetsugu.- kunoichi bid him goodbye.

Yes, why?- kunoichi asked, curious.

And from the barracks of the outposts, and from the uesugi main camp's gates, countless soldiers began rushing at the takeda main camp.
Let us see if your allies can endure the dragon's might.- kenshin challenged his nemesis.
Very well… time to show you the takeda's pride.- shingen accepted the challenge… as he knew, his nemesis was truly himself… thus, he could not give him the right to victory.

So hearing horses approach was unexpected.
AN AMBUSH… AND IT'S MOST OF THE UESUGI'S FORCES!?- penny expressed her disbelief at the turn of events…
And i see most of them heading to our camp… truly devious kenshin…- kunoichi mumbled.
Well… you focus on preventing their approach, i'll defend the camp with yukimura.- penny said… trembling, but firm.
Ok… good luck penny.- with that, kunoichi began hoping from tree to tree, as sakon whistled for a horse and rushed through the valley.
It's indeed a surprise just how Young you are… and yet you bravely face the demons of war.- aya expressed her toughts.

Until from the outpost near the camp, lady aya and her angelic zeal; a staff inbued in holy energy, made their appearance.
Sorry Young one… my name's aya… the lady of the uesugi clan and kenshin's elder sister.- she presented herself.- this isn't personal… but i plan to end the battle here… thus, i'll have to expell you of this camp.
