And love
Chap 68 Trouble III
A/N: Zeagles15, I realize this is off the bell curve for Jamie. But so is the triggering incident. Fortunately, he has an extraordinary support system.

"Let's go find daddy," Eddie holds AJ and grasps Mal's hand, they skip to the front desk.
"Hi Mrs. Reagan. I'll notify your father-in-law that you are done and are ready to talk."
"Notify? I just-
"He wanted to talk with you privately before you joined your husband." She picked up the phone, talked briefly then got up. "Follow me, please."
She ushered them to a small, quiet waiting room. When they entered, they were alone. The clerk turned on the lights, motioned to seats and left. Shortly Frank joined them.
Mal jumped up and flew to his arms. "What is wrong with my daddy, grandpa?" She is crying now.
He hugged her tight, then opened 1 arm for Eddie to join them. After a minute they all sat down.
Frank looked at Eddie, then nodded toward Malina. Mother nodded twice, telling him that Mal can hear whatever he has to say. He held his grand-daughter on his lap as he began.
"Malina, your daddy had a very bad thing to happen at work today. He was the boss of a group of policemen who were going after people doing very bad things to children."
"You mean like me?" Her eyes are big now.
"Yes, and even younger."
"Like Mary Rose?"
"Yes." Now Eddie is crying too.
"When they found where the bad men were, they tried to arrest the men and rescue the kids."
"Did they get them all out?"
At this point Frank wished that he didn't have Malina on his lap.
"They got all the bad men . . . but not all the kids."
"NO, GRANDPA! What happened?" She and her mom are sobbing now; Frank isn't much better.
He can barely talk. "They lost . . . three little girls." The last 3 words were whispered.
"NO!" Mal screams and rushes to her mother.
Eddie can't believe it. Jamie, her love, the father of their 3 girls, their 2 sons . . . survived THAT? No wonder he exploded. SHE MUST GET TO HIM!
"Frank, I must see him, NOW!" She leaves no room for debate.
He reaches down and takes Mal's hand, "Follow me."
They walk down a corridor, turn a corner and go on. They finally reach the end of a hall. They stop in front of a door with a security officer seated out front.
"Jail?" Eddie fumes.
"Not quite." Frank nods; the guard nods back, unlocks the door and walks away.
Eddie opens the door and rushes to Jamie's arms – Mal close behind her mommy. Frank enters, closes and locks the door, and takes a seat.
After a long, silent hug session Jamie speaks. "Privacy, please?"
Frank sadly shakes his head. "You haven't been released yet, son."
"Meaning?"
"You must be in my custody, or locked alone in this room . . . until an administrator signs your release."
"Really?"
"Really." Frank hangs his head.
"Jamie-
"No, Eddie-
"No daddy. Mommy and I need to tell you something." Mal looks to her mother.
Eddie has never loved her daughter more!
"Jamison Reagan! Mal and I love you very much!"
Mal reaches up and kisses her daddy's cheek.
Eddie continues; "We know that something very bad happened today."
Jamie casts a puzzled look in Frank's direction. His dad nods twice. Jamie's head drops.
"But when bad things happen, run to us for love and comfort, not away from us, please!"
"But I had blood all over my uniform. I didn't want you to see me like that!"
"Love, that happens to cops. That doesn't matter." The 3 of them embrace again.
AJ starts to fuss; "I will wait outside," Frank announces. "I'll call and see if that signature has happened." He exits, takes the guard seat and pulls out his phone.
20 MINUTES LATER
Franks phone chirps for a TXT.
SB: Signature done, released.
F to E: Released. Go to ER 4 checkout.
Frank unlocks the door and walks away.
F to J: Off work until Monday. PC orders.
Frank finds his detail and is off.

"Girls, we have something to talk about," Eddie starts.
"AJ's spells?" Mary Rose quips.
"Yup," Mal adds. "We all need to help keep track of them." She shows them all the log, then explains it.
"Will he have those all his life," Cassie is worried.
"We don't know," Eddie inputs. "If they are absence, as doctor Andrews suspects they may be; they often go away in the teen years."
"I just don't get it!" Jamie snorts. "That's a lot of maybe, let's decide, folks!"
"Jamie, doctor Andrews doesn't want to label AJ before she is certain. Can you see the wisdom of that, babe?"
"I suppose," he relents.
Eddie has given Cassie & Mary Rose the cliff notes version of yesterday's events.
Eddie is worried, he isn't over the horrendous happening of yesterday. She supposes that's par for the course, given how bad it was. She will stay close, not letting him withdraw, and encouraging the girls to show dad love daily. This is what family is for, right? Right!

I'm' going to end this one a little early. Before we jump into the next arc. More AJ to come. I' modeling him loosely after my 1st born son. More later.

Question: It seems that the 3 girl's areas of interests are solidifying, especially Mary Rose. But the twin boys? Do you have any suggestions? Something you've not seen explored before? Don't go wacko on me, please. And no promises.
Hey, I know it's early in the twins life!
