A/N: Written by request. Gracie has to go to the dentist and isn't too happy about it.

"'Manda, dat tickles!" Gracie giggled happily as Amanda tickled her belly and sides.

"Tickle, tickle tickle. Tickle, tickle, tickle. And… tickle, tickle, tickle." the blonde babysitter teased lovingly, and then she paused and rubbed Gracie's belly, "Okay, time to calm down now."

"When Mommy home?" Gracie asked, still panting a little.

"Mommy will be home in about two hours, sweetie." Amanda assured her.

"No, Mommy is right here." Olivia walked into the house, kicked her shoes off, and put her things away.

"Mommy!" Gracie cheered happily, jumping up from Amanda's lap and running into Mommy's arms.

"There's my sweet girl. Were you a good girl for Amanda today?" Olivia asked, holding Gracie close to her heart and kissing the top of her head.

"Yes, Mommy." Gracie replied honestly.

"She was an angel." Amanda confirmed, "You're early."

"Carisi won the King case, so we all decided to call it a day to reward ourselves." Olivia explained.

"Mommy, wet diaper." Gracie wrinkled her nose.

"Good girl for telling me. Say goodbye to Amanda and thank her for looking after you, and then we'll go get you changed into a fresh diaper." Olivia said.

"Bye, 'Manda. Fank ew for comin'!" Gracie smiled.

"You're very welcome, little one. Maybe the next time Mommy needs me to look after you, she can bring you to my apartment and you can play with Frannie." Amanda said.

"Doggie!" Gracie cheered happily.

Amanda let herself out of the house and walked to her car parked in the driveway while Olivia took Gracie down the hall to her room and laid her on the bed to gently change her diaper, all the while listening to Gracie's innocent chatter telling Mommy all about her day in Amanda's care. Olivia noticed that Gracie was wearing a different shirt than she had been wearing when Olivia went to work that morning, but decided not to say anything about it. Spills were just part of life. The brunette detective grew concerned when Gracie suddenly stopped talking mid-sentence and winced.

"What hurts, sweetheart?" Olivia asked with loving concern.

"Mine toofie hurts. Da uhn in da back on dis sigh." Gracie pointed to her left cheek.

"Let Mommy see, open your mouth. That's my good girl." Olivia peered inside of Gracie's mouth, "Oh, it looks like you might have a tiny cavity. I had better call Dr. Green."

"No dentist! Is icky!" Gracie looked horrified, as if Mommy had just told her that she was getting her arm chopped off.

"Trust me, you are not the only person who doesn't like going to the dentist; nobody does, but it's something we all have to do sometimes whether we like it or not." Olivia gently finished changing Gracie's diaper.

"But I bwush mine toofies ev'y day. Isn't dat good nuff?"

"Brushing your teeth every day is a very good thing, but you still need to go to the dentist at least twice a year, and if your tooth hurts then you should go more often."

"No fair. Naughty cav'ty." Gracie pouted, and Olivia chuckled.

"It won't be as bad as you think, baby. Mommy will go with you, and if you're a good girl Dr. Green will let you choose a prize from the prize bin." Olivia said as she gently guided Gracie to sit up. Dr. Green catered specifically to 'littles' and had a bin filled with small prizes for his patients. Olivia made certain to call the dentist's office immediately, and was able to get an appointment for Gracie to be seen the next afternoon. However, when Olivia went to tell Gracie that it was time to get ready to go to her appointment, her little Houdini was nowhere to be found.

"Gracie, we don't have time to play hide and seek right now, lovey. Come to Mommy, please." Olivia called out as she searched all of Gracie's favorite hiding spots in the house.

"I not wanna go." a tiny voice came from behind the couch. Olivia peered behind the couch and was greeted by Gracie's cute face pouting up at her.

"There you are. I'm afraid this is one of those times when Mommy can't give you a choice, baby; you have to go to the dentist. You don't want that tooth to fall out, do you?" Olivia spoke kindly.

"Mine toofie!" Gracie squealed in horror, clamping her hands over her mouth.

"Well, that's why you have to go to the dentist, so that doesn't happen. Come on, now. We'll go get it over with as fast as we can, and then you can come home and play." Olivia held out her hand for Gracie to take.

"NO! Nononononononononono!" Gracie shouted as she tried to stomp her feet, which was difficult since she was sitting on the floor.

"Gracie Elizabeth, there will be no temper tantrums. Come here." Olivia spoke sternly as she gently pulled Gracie out from behind the couch, lifted the back of her dress, and landed a sharp spank on her tender thigh unprotected by her diaper, "No."

"Owie!" Gracie yelped, and the sudden sting was enough to startle her out of her tantrum, "Mommy, dat hurted!" Gracie glared.

"It was supposed to hurt. You do not throw tantrums, and you need to adjust your face and your attitude right now before Mommy needs to do it for you." Olivia scolded.

"I not need my 'tude 'justed." Gracie snapped, her tone dripping with sass.

"Hmm. I see we aren't going anywhere until you've had a good spanking, little miss mischief." Olivia observed and began to lead Gracie down the hall.

Suddenly realizing that she may have stretched Mommy's patience a bit too far, and wanting no part of what she knew was waiting for her in Mommy's room, Gracie's demeanor suddenly shifted from sassy and sullen to apologetic and panicked.

"I's sowwy, Mommy! Peeze, no 'panking! We go now, I go dentist!" Gracie assured Mommy of her full cooperation, "Peeze, Mommy! I go wiff ew!"

"You had your chance to cooperate with me, Gracie Elizabeth." Olivia sat down on the bed and Gracie suddenly found herself bent over Mommy's lap with her dress pulled up and her diaper pulled down to her knees.

"Peeze, Mommy, no! I be good girl! You say, I do! I be good girl!"

"Do you understand why you're getting a spanking?" Olivia inquired as she raised up her strong right hand and began to spank Gracie's naughty bare bottom.

"Ouchy! Yes, Mommy! Ouchy! Cuz I hided from ew and frew a fit! Ouchy!" Gracie winced.

"I wasn't planning on spanking you for hiding from me; I understand that you don't want to go to the dentist, but now you are in trouble. You do not throw tantrums, you do not get sassy with me, and unless you are in the bathroom, you come to me immediately when you hear me calling you, you do not hide from Mommy unless we are playing hide and seek. I told you we don't have time to play hide and seek right now; we could be almost at Dr. Green's office right now, but instead we are here and you have a pink bottom." Olivia scolded.

"I's sowwy!" Gracie cried, struggling to stay still like a good girl.

"I know you're sorry. I'm afraid you're going to be even more sorry by the time Mommy is finished with you. Stand up from Mommy's lap and bring me the wooden spoon from the kitchen. No rubbing." Olivia instructed.

"Yes, Mommy." Gracie wept as she did as she was told. She was too well spanked to disobey at this point.

"Good girl. Over you go." Olivia guided Gracie across her lap once again, and Gracie began to cry a little harder as her spanking continued with the wooden spoon.

Olivia spanked until she was satisfied with the color of Gracie's bottom, and then she threw down the wooden spoon as if it had burned her and began to gently rub Gracie's bottom while she listened to Gracie's sobbing. Gracie wasn't crying quite as hard as she normally would be during a spanking, but Olivia decided to call it good enough, trusting that her baby had learned a good lesson, and she scooped her sobbing baby into her arms.

"Mommy!" Gracie sobbed, clinging to Mommy for dear life and crying on Mommy's shoulder.

"Mommy's here, lovey. Just cry it out, Mommy's got you. That's my good girl. Such a good girl." Olivia soothed lovingly, gently rubbing Gracie's punished bottom.

"I's sowwy!" Gracie wept.

"I know you're sorry, baby, Mommy knows. My good girl is all forgiven. It's all over now."

Gracie cried for a while until finally she was calm with just a few stray tears clinging to her eyelashes that Mommy lovingly wiped away with her thumb.

"We don't have time to read stories right now, sweetie, we need to get you to the dentist, but I promise as soon as we come home, we will cuddle up and read stories." Olivia promised lovingly, "Let's go wash your pretty face and then we need to leave."

"Yes, Mommy." Gracie agreed with just a slight sniffle.

Gracie's diaper served to provide enough padding for her to ride mostly comfortably in the car on the way to the dentist. When they arrived, Gracie suddenly became shy and latched onto Mommy's hand tightly.

"Hello, there. Name, please?" the receptionist smiled warmly.

"Gracie Muncy." Olivia replied.

"Oh, yes, if you'll have a seat, it will be just a few minutes." the receptionist motioned toward the mostly empty waiting area.

Olivia sat down in a chair and Gracie settled herself on Mommy's lap to be cuddled while they waited for her name to be called.

"Do you want to play, baby?" Olivia motioned toward a few toys scattered on the floor where another baby girl was playing. Gracie shook her head.

"Mommy hold me, peeze."

"Yes, baby, Mommy will hold you."

"Tushy ouchy." Gracie whimpered on Mommy's shoulder.

"I know it hurts, lovey. As soon as we get home, you get lotion and stories, I promise. You were so, so good for Mommy." Olivia soothed in Gracie's ear.

"You sad?" the baby girl who had been playing on the floor walked up and spoke to Gracie.

"Mommy 'panked me." Gracie blushed lightly.

"Oh. Is 'kay, be better soon." the baby girl gently patted Gracie's arm in an attempt to comfort her, "Wanna come p'ay?"

"No fank ew, want mine Mommy." Gracie politely declined the offer and was rewarded for her manners with a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"Gracie, it's your turn, dear." Dr. Green smiled. Gracie heaved a big, dramatic sigh and Olivia had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing.

"Sit still, baby. Good girl. Mommy's right here." Olivia assured her, sitting nearby; far enough away to be out of Dr. Green's way, but close enough so that Gracie could see her and know that she was there.

"So what seems to be the trouble today?" Dr. Green asked, putting on a pair of rubber gloves.

"Mine toofie hurts. Da uhn in da back on dis sigh." Gracie pointed to her sore tooth and Dr. Green looked at it with his tiny mirror.

"Oh, yes, you do have a tiny cavity there, but nothing too serious. You were a good girl to speak up about it right away instead of waiting." Dr. Green praised.

Dr. Green had Gracie's tooth fixed in no time, and to her delight she was allowed to choose a prize from the prize bin. She contemplated her options very seriously and eventually decided on a small sticker book filled with various glittery stickers.

"Mommy, I loves ew. I's sowwy I was naughty girl." Gracie hugged Mommy when they arrived home, and her body relaxed upon feeling Mommy's strong arms around her.

"You are all forgiven, my baby angel. There's nothing left to be sorry for, Mommy loves you very much. Do you want Mommy to read you stories now?"

"Yes, peeze. An' lotion, peeze." Gracie replied.

"Yes, and lotion, too." Olivia agreed.

Gracie found herself draped back over Mommy's lap while Mommy gently rubbed her spanked bottom with arnica, and then she crawled into Mommy's arms to be cuddled while Mommy read to her for a while. After her spanking and her ordeal at the dentist, Gracie was exhausted and soon found herself falling into a deep, peaceful sleep in Mommy's arms with Mommy's voice swirling in her ears.
