Wonder Woman, Shazam and Supergirl fly around Metropolis to begin the evacuation of civilians. They reach on top of a building, right in front of the skull ship and have a talk...
"Billy, you go ahead," Wonder Woman tells him, "Supergirl and I will handle this"
"Alright" Shazam said before disappearing by thunder teleportation.
'Where should we start?' Supergirl asked, her voice laced with urgency. 'Diana, we don't have much time!'
Wonder Woman, her gaze fixed on the monstrous ship, shook her head. 'Batman's strategy is all wrong. Delaying our offense is pointless. It's one less hour before Brainiac sends us all to Hades. Saving these people could doom billions more!'
Supergirl, her heart heavy with the fear she could feel radiating from the city below, countered, 'I can hear the people down there…all of them. They're afraid, like I was on Krypton when I didn't have these powers. And I look at us, and I think…we can give them hope!'
A wave of despair washed over Wonder Woman. It felt hopeless. Below, the streets were a chaotic symphony of screams and fleeing civilians, herded by Brainiac's robotic enforcers, the Betas. A Beta shoved a police officer, urging him to move faster.
With a swift, silent movement, Wonder Woman descended, catching the Beta mid-air. The world seemed to hold its breath.
'Up here!' she roared, her voice echoing around the terrified crowd.
Heads tilted upwards, eyes wide with confusion and fear. Standing proudly above the chaos, Wonder Woman raised the Beta high, its metallic form glistening in the harsh city lights. With a decisive motion, she crushed its head, the metal ripping and groaning under her immense strength. The Beta's lifeless form plummeted to the ground, sending shockwaves through the crowd.
A barrage of laser fire erupted from the remaining Betas, but Wonder Woman and Supergirl were a blur of motion, easily dodging the deadly beams. Wonder Woman landed with a powerful thud, her shield reflecting the laser fire and slicing through the Betas like a hot knife through butter.
Supergirl, a whirlwind of speed and strength, joined the fray, her heat vision incinerating the metallic bodies. Within moments, the Betas lay scattered, their threat neutralized.
Finally, the last Beta fell, a metallic corpse amidst the wreckage. The two heroes stood triumphant, their chests heaving with the exertion of battle. They looked down at the crowd of humans, who had been watching the fight unfold with a mixture of awe and terror. But instead of cheers or gratitude, they saw only fear.
'Why are they so afraid of us?' Supergirl asked, her voice laced with confusion.
The question hung heavy in the air, unanswered. Before Wonder Woman could respond, a laser beam ripped through the silence, slamming into Supergirl's shoulder. She stumbled, a hiss escaping her lips. Turning, she saw Cheetah, her eyes gleaming with predatory glee, a laser gun clutched in her gloved hand.
'Minerva...' Wonder Woman growled, the name a venomous whisper.
'Welcome back, Diana,' Cheetah purred, her voice dripping with malice. A second laser shot, aimed at Wonder Woman, sent her tumbling backward, crashing through the wall of a nearby building. The force of the impact sent debris scattering, shattering the glass front of a bustling salon.
...
Inside, a bartender, startled by the sudden intrusion, raised a shotgun in self-defense, his face frozen in a mask of fear. But before he could fire, a booming crash from the entrance sent him diving for cover. It was Captain Cold, his face etched with a chilling smile, his cold gun crackling with icy energy.
'Your heart's so cold, Wonder Woman,' he sneered, his voice a glacial whisper. 'Let's put you on ice.'
Reverse-Flash, appearing from thin air with a blur of movement, landed a series of blows, each strike delivered with lightning speed. Captain Cold, his eyes gleaming with anticipation, moved to join the fray, firing a freezing beam of ice. But Wonder Woman, using her bracelets, dodged/blocked the attack, allowing the ice to engulf Reverse-Flash instead.
'Nice rope-a-dope,' Captain Cold chuckled, his voice a stark contrast to the chilling power he wielded. He stepped closer, his eyes cold and calculating.
'Give up your code of honor, Snart?' Wonder Woman challenged, her voice unwavering in the face of his threats. 'Why lower yourself to work with Grodd?'
'You're not so pure, Amazon,' Captain Cold retorted, his voice hardening. 'You... you executed 'Golden Glider'. She... She was my sister!'
'A sister you led into a life of crime,' Wonder Woman countered, her voice devoid of remorse, 'She paid for your mistakes!'
WONDER WOMAN VS. CAPTAIN COLD
With a swift movement, Wonder Woman surged to her feet, her eyes burning with a newfound intensity. The fight was on. The salon became a whirlwind of motion, the air thick with the clang of metal and the crash of furniture. They fought with a ferocity born of desperation, each move a testament to their unwavering will.
Her arm tightly grips around his neck; the temptation to crush his throat expanding greatly with each passing thought. Lifting him off the ground with ease, she had him exactly where she wanted him.
Cold, however, took notice of this surprisingly sorrow look of reluctance on Diana's face before it fades back to coldness, staring at him. She remembered what Batman said about not killing – she just didn't give the slightest damn. However, for now... She won't kill Cold... For a moment, anyways...
In the end, Wonder Woman emerged victorious, Captain Cold lying defeated on the floor, his cold gun lying close at hand.
WONDER WOMAN WINS!
'My condolences,' Wonder Woman said, her voice cold and emotionless.
As Wonder Woman turned to leave, Reverse-Flash began to vibrate, the ice surrounding his body melting away. His muscles stretched and snapped as he released himself from his icy prison.
'Eobard Thawne, right?' Barry said you're some kind of time traveler,' Wonder Woman remarked.
'Yeah...and let me tell you about the future,' Reverse-Flash replied, zipping to the opposite side of the bar. 'You THINK you're immortal. But, in MY time, Diana... you're QUITE dead!'
WONDER WOMAN VS. THE REVERSE-FLASH
Driven by his hatred, Reverse-Flash attempted to ensure Wonder Woman's demise in this timeline. His lightning-fast strikes proved formidable, but Wonder Woman's unwavering determination refused to waver.
Utilizing her sword, shield, and lasso, she expertly maneuvered around Thawne's attacks, closing the distance and delivering a series of powerful blows.
WONDER WOMAN WINS!
'An oracle you are not!' Wonder Woman proclaimed triumphantly as she sheathed her sword and walked away, leaving both Captain Cold and Reverse-Flash defeated in her wake.
She was just about to leave when a strange green smoke appeared from the floor. Diana then looked up and saw the man of her dreams.
'Diana, you're safe!' Superman exclaimed, relief washing over his face.
'Clark, we have to find Kara. She's...' Wonder Woman began, her voice trailing off.
'We will,' Superman replied, his arms encircling her waist.
'Clark, we don't have time for...' Wonder Woman protested.
'Please,' Superman interrupted, his fingertips tracing her cheek. 'I've missed you.'
A flicker of longing crossed Wonder Woman's face. 'We can beat them, Kal. Brainiac, Batman, they both go down today,' she murmured.
'And we'll rule side-by-side as equals,' Superman whispered.
'And lovers,' Wonder Woman added.
As their lips parted, a blinding beam of heat vision pierced through the mist, slamming Wonder Woman against the wall. Superman hovered in midair, his eyes blazing with a newfound fury.
'I turned to you when Lois died! You took advantage! Manipulated my grief!' Superman roared, pinning her against the wall. 'Turned me into someone I wasn't meant to be!'
Wonder Woman groaned in pain. 'That's not true! My love made you stronger!'
'Is THAT what you tell yourself?!' Superman sneered.
Without hesitation, Wonder Woman drew her sword and plunged it into Superman's chest. A gasp escaped the Man of Steel as the weapon pierced his supposed invulnerable body.
'That's what SUPERMAN told me, Scarecrow!' Wonder Woman exclaimed.
...
Suddenly, the mist Woman awoke with a groan, her head pounding. The air was thick with a sickly sweet scent, a nauseating green mist swirling around her. A maniacal cackle ripped through the fog, sending shivers down her spine. She stumbled to her feet, her vision blurry, the scent making her stomach churn.
'Hehehaha,' the voice rasped, closer now. 'You're not afraid of Superman... you're afraid you corrupted him. Brave hero. Your worst fear is becoming the villain of the story.'
A gaunt figure materialized through the mist, its long, skeletal fingers twitching. A straw hat perched atop its skull, framing a pair of dark, piercing eyes that seemed to bore into her very soul. It was Scarecrow, the master of fear, and his voice dripped with mocking amusement.
Wonder Woman drew her sword, the familiar weight a small comfort in the unsettling silence that followed.
'To Hades with your mind games!' she snarled, her voice tight with suppressed fury.
'Classic anger displacement,' Scarecrow continued, his voice a sickeningly smooth whisper. He raised a hand, a canister dripping with emerald liquid. The mist thickened, swirling around him, morphing into a grotesque, monstrous form. The Scarecrow's body became elongated, his limbs twisted and contorted, a ghastly mockery of humanity. The air crackled with a new intensity, the green gas choking her lungs.
'We should continue your therapy!' the monstrous Scarecrow shrieked, its voice echoing through the green fog.
WONDER WOMAN VS. SCARECROW
Wonder Woman felt a wave of fear wash over her, a primal dread that clawed at her composure. The fear gas, always a potent weapon, was amplified by the grotesque spectacle of the creature before her. A nightmare made flesh. But she wouldn't give in. This wasn't fear. This was anger. Raging anger, fueled by the betrayal, the manipulation, the vile attempts to undermine everything she stood for.
She gritted her teeth, her anger hardening her resolve. The fear was a whisper in her ears, a distant echo. She would not succumb.
She charged forward, her sword a blur of steel. The monstrous Scarecrow lunged, its razor-sharp claws reaching for her, but she moved with a speed that defied the fear-induced slowdown. She dodged, parrying his attack with a flick of her wrist, her sword connecting with a bone-jarring thud against his skull.
The creature recoiled, its head tilting at an unnatural angle. The fear gas, a tangible presence in the air, momentarily blinded her. But she knew the rhythm of the fight, the dance of pain and fury.
Scarecrow lunged again, the fear gas spraying from its twisted hand. Wonder Woman, with a practiced move, swung her sword, catching the canister in mid-air. The canister clattered to the ground, the green gas seeping out in a viscous puddle.
She then moved with a swiftness that left the creature reeling. With the might of a woman empowered by righteous fury, she swung her sword, the steel biting deep into the Scarecrow's arm. The creature screamed, a high-pitched shriek that tore through the fog, a mixture of pain and fear.
Wonder Woman did not hesitate. She pressed her advantage, her sword a lightning bolt of steel, striking again and again. The creature staggered, its grotesque body contorted by pain, its attacks becoming weaker, more desperate.
As the creature crumpled, its monstrous form deflating back into the frail, skeletal form of its human shell, Wonder Woman stood over him, her sword poised at his neck, the green mist dissipating around them.
WONDER WOMAN WINS!
'This therapy session's over,' she said, her voice heavy with suppressed rage.
Scarecrow tries to blast her with more fear gas, but Wonder Woman, with a swipe of her sword, cuts Scarecrow's wrist and makes him drop the nozzle. As Scarecrow screams in pain (and maybe in FEAR), Wonder Woman stands over him with her sword at his neck.
Just as she was about to kill him for his nightmare schemes and for joining Grodd and Brainiac, a huge hand bursts out of the roof and grabbed her before slamming her onto the ground a few times, knocking her out. The giant hand then gently picked up the weakened and bleeding Scarecrow out of the salon.
After a few minutes, Diana slowly got up from the knockout and saw that Crane was gone... However, she saw someone else walking into the salon... Someone familiar...
"It's been awhile... Diana..." Giganta replies with a dark smile.
"Doris Zuel..." Wonder Woman glared at her archenemy, "I'm surprised that you of all people would join Grodd and Brainiac..."
"Oh, you stupid Amazon... I'm with Grodd because I love him... Besides, he's making me his Queen once he and Brainiac take over the Earth"
"Do you really think he'll keep his promise to you? He has broken his promises before..."
"This time, Grodd will keep his promise! You watch, Diana. Once he and Brainiac conquer this planet, I will be the one standing tall beside him, while you—' She cackled, mocking Wonder Woman's reputation. 'You will be forgotten, like the dust you are.'
Diana rose to her feet, shaking off the haze of fear gas and the weight of the Scarecrow's twisted manipulation. Her vibrant armor glinted even in the dim light of the salon, a testament to her unwavering resolve. 'You think I care about being remembered? I fight for righteousness, not glory.'
Giganta crossed her arms, her towering figure casting an imposing shadow. 'How noble of you. But you don't scare me. You really think some old tales of valor can stop a new world order? I have power now—real power.' She flexed her massive arms to emphasize her weight as an enemy.
Wonder Woman's eyes narrowed. 'Power is nothing without wisdom, Doris. Grodd's reign will crumble like the tyrants before him.'
'Is that what you tell yourself, Diana? That you're the one handing out judgment? Let's see how long that lasts!' Giganta charged forward, her fist swinging like a meteor heading for Earth.
WONDER WOMAN VS GIGANTA
Diana was quicker, dodging to the side and drawing her lasso. With a flick of her wrist, she ensnared Giganta's arm, the golden rope glimmering in the low light. 'This ends now. You were once a great adversary, but now you serve a lesser master."
Giganta struggled, pulling against the lasso, which shone brighter with each passing moment, the spirit of truth reinforcing its hold. 'You think you can twist my arm with nostalgia? I'll show you the consequences of underestimating a queen!'
With a surge of strength, Giganta ripped the lasso off and swung her fist again, but Wonder Woman was already two steps ahead. She expertly sidestepped and countered with a spinning kick that landed squarely on Giganta's midsection, staggering her momentarily.
'You may have power, Doris, but brute strength means nothing when you lack purpose!' Diana shouted, her voice echoing with unintended authority.
Giganta sneered, recovering quickly, and unleashed a series of blows, each one barely evaded by Wonder Woman. The force behind the punches sent shockwaves through the salon, causing the walls to fissure. Wonder Woman fought with ferocity, each parry and riposte a testament to her skill, but Giganta's size and strength were overwhelming.
Finally, Diana found an opening as Giganta launched another forceful jab. With her sword positioned like a shield, she caught Giganta's punch and twisted, leveraging the momentum to throw the larger woman off balance. Giganta stumbled, crashing into a tense wall, causing it to crumble.
WONDER WOMAN WINS!
"It's over, Giganta!" Diana declares, readying her sword and preparing the final blow when someone attacked her from the back, "Ack!"
"Sorry, Diana… but you're not killing any of my old friends," Circe sneered, her voice dripping with malevolence as she flicked her wrist. With the grace of a serpent, her magic swirled around them, binding Wonder Woman's arms momentarily. "You and Superman's Regime have given this world enough pain…"
"Circe… You have returned…" Diana breathed, a mix of weariness and righteous indignation spilling forth.
"Yes, Diana," Circe replied, stepping into the dim light, a malevolent smirk playing on her lips, "And you don't know how long I've waited for this day... You've always been the shining beacon of hope, the hero everyone admires. But what has that done for you, Diana? The world is still twisted, the injustices still rampant, and your precious ideals mean nothing against the relentless tide of suffering."
'You think this is strength?' Diana breathed heavily, the strain of the battle evident on her brow. 'Your power is rooted in deceit and manipulation. True strength lies in protecting those who cannot protect themselves.'
"And yet, your Regime was doing the opposite... You and Superman have hurt, torture, even killed your enemies and your own allies... Hahaha..."
"So, you're with Grodd and Brainiac as well?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Of course, not!" Circe declared, with a theatrical flair, her black cloak billowing menacingly in the dim torchlight. 'Those brutish apes and cold, calculating machines cannot understand the artistry of chaos as I do. I'm not here to join them; I'm here to make a statement. I want you to see the world for what it truly is—a stage for power and manipulation where only the cunning and ruthless survive.'
Wonder Woman struggled against the swirling tendrils of magic wrapping around her wrists, her heart beating like a war drum in her chest. 'You think throwing your lot in with them makes you superior? You're just a puppet dancing for higher powers, Circe. I won't let you use Giganta or anyone else as a pawn in your twisted game.'
Circe's laughter echoed off the ancient stones, a sound that reverberated with both madness and elegance. "And who will stop me, Diana? You're too busy pretending to uphold justice while your own hands are stained with the blood of your friends and foes alike. You champion a regime that believes it can control morality through fear. How ironic that you would dare lecture me on strength."
Struggling to maintain focus, Diana summoned her strength, her fierce determination shining through the fatigue. "This isn't about morality, Circe—it's about doing what is right! I may have wielded the sword against those who threaten peace, but I have not sought to destroy without cause. This endless cycle of vengeance must end!"
Circe looked down at her, a predator sizing up its prey. "Oh, sweet Diana. You've missed the point entirely. This world is a canvas, and I am its artist. I'll not be bound by your antiquated notions of justice and truth. I see the darkness people hide, and I embrace it. And soon, I will unleash it upon this world."
With a flick of her wrist, Circe's magic tightened further around Diana's arms, rendering her sword a mere glint of metal on the ground. 'Stand down, or I will show you just how fragile that shining beacon of light can be.'
Diana inhaled sharply, focusing her mind despite the barriers. "Every artist must consider the consequences of their actions. You may think you can wield chaos, but you'll find darkness only begets more darkness."
A flicker of doubt crossed Circe's eyes, but it was swallowed by her confidence. 'Perhaps, but chaos is far more entertaining than your reluctant heroism. Just look at your world. Your precious ideals… they've unraveled. Heroes fallen, lives shattered. I refuse to play the role of the defeated!'
'Then what will you gain from this?' Diana countered, seizing the momentary pause. 'Ultimately, in your pursuit of power, you will be left alone atop a mountain of broken bodies. That isn't strength; that's desperation.'
Circe's expression faltered, if only for an instant, as memories of her own past mingled with the venomous hatred she had cultivated for so long. But her resolve hardened again, and she smiled, sallow and sharp. "And what will you gain, Wonder Woman? Another hollow victory celebrated by the naive? No—my victory will be real.'
With renewed vigor and righteous fury, Diana charged at Circe, the sword of Athena humming to life in her grip. "You may require chaos, Circe, but I will be the defender of the innocent—against you and anyone else who would use their gifts for harm."
WONDER WOMAN VS CIRCE
The two clashed, the air crackling around them like a storm unleashed. Diana's blade met the ethereal tendrils of Circe's magic, producing a blinding flash that lit up the shadowy forest clearing. Each powerful strike echoed with the weight of their convictions; the clang of steel against sorcery rang true beneath the oppressive shroud of twilight.
Diana danced forward, each step imbued with courage, reminding her of every life she had saved and every innocent she had defended in her quest for justice. The sword of Athena, a shimmering embodiment of hope, buzzed with energy, as if echoing its wielder's determination. 'You can't forge a better world through destruction!' she shouted, narrowly dodging a surge of dark energy that whipped past her shoulder, singeing her armor.
Circe responded with a laugh, mad and vibrant, flinging a wave of chaos towards Diana that morphed into monstrous shapes, shadows of victims past, their cries echoing in the air. 'Every artist makes sacrifices, Diana! This is the world you've upheld—written in the blood of those too weak to understand.'
Diana's heart twisted at the sight of the phantoms thrashing about, desperate yet familiar. She pressed her lips together, determination solidifying her resolve. 'Those you seek to elevate—those you manipulate! You misunderstand their strength, Circe. Resilience is born in the depths of despair, and I will not let you turn that into your tool of pain!'
With a swift swing of her sword, she sliced through the apparitions, their forms dissipating like smoke. "Their sorrow will not be weaponized by you!" she roared defiantly, focusing all her will into her next move.
Circe narrowed her eyes, frustration simmering beneath her carefully crafted façade. "You swing your sword with such noble intentions, yet it changes nothing! The world has already turned to ash. Your heroism is a mask you wear to shield yourself from your own frailty."
In that haunting moment, Circe opened herself to the memory of her own despair, unearthing the sorrows that had sculpted her. She had once been a healer, an ambitious woman who dreamed of lifting the burdens of those around her until betrayal twisted her heart into stone. The pain had festered, growing into a tempest of chaos that she believed would shield her from further harm.
Diana, sensing that the witch's magic faltered slightly, seized the fleeting chance. With vulnerable strength, she spoke, 'You don't have to carry this weight alone. I know disappointment, Circe. I know the sensation of being cast aside. But allowing that pain to reign in you only clouds your heart. Healing comes from love, not destruction. There is still a chance for you to find your way back.'
Circe halted, her brows knitting together as doubt encroached upon her relentless resolve. Memories whirled; visions of laughter, of friendships before betrayal shackled her heart. Then darkness crept in, whispering that trust was a folly she could not afford. So she pushed the thoughts deep, where they would fester, but Diana's words lingered like an elusive melody.
"Is your victory worth the cost of your very soul?" Diana pressed, embers of compassion igniting her fierce spirit. "Can you build upon others' pain and ever call it yours?"
'Silence!' Circe roared, flinging her arms wide—a tempest of crackling energy surged forth, threatening to engulf Diana. With unwavering focus, Diana raised her sword, its brilliance cutting through the darkness, and deflected the chaos, redirecting it back towards Circe.
The spell backfired, forcing Circe to stumble backward, her magic a wild storm sparking around her. The shadows of her forgotten victims flitted in the corners of her vision, chanting a melody of guilt that pierced her heart.
But rather than drown in despair, she straightened, fierce defiance burning anew. "You don't know power, Diana! You squander your strength clinging to hopes of that which can't be saved. I am the storm—chaos is my birthright!"
With every ounce of energy, the clash renewed, Circe unleashing conjured beasts that roared into existence, while Diana held her ground, reflecting their might with the justice of her sword and the righteous flame of her spirit.
Time bent and twisted as their fight escalated—a breathtaking ballet of illuminated blade and dark tendrils. The surrounding forest trembled with the weight of their conflict, every thrust and parry echoing within the hearts of those who believed.
"Then in this chaos, perhaps you will find your reckoning!" Diana shouted, determination sharpening her voice like the blade she wielded.
But Circe's resolve hardened. "You think you're a beacon of light, but your brilliance blinds you to the truth! Power is the only constant in this world. I will not let you—the hero—dictate my fate." With a final explosion of chaotic energy, she summoned forth a monstrous serpent, channeling all her remaining strength, but Diana was ready.
With an elegant sidestep, she dodged the beast and swung her sword, severing the serpent's head clean off. The dark spell shattered like glass, scattering remnants to wind—its magic no longer hers to control.
As the dust settled, Circe, on her knees, gasped for breath, the remnants of her power swirling chaotically around her like ghosts in torment. She had expected to rise victorious, to bend Diana to her will, but now faced the encroaching reality of her defeat.
WONDER WOMAN WINS!
Diana stood over her, sword poised, ready to deliver justice. "The people you've killed demand justice…" Her voice was a calm river, flowing with purpose and strength.
"Hmph, we both know you don't have the heart to k-ARGH!" Circe was about to say when Wonder Woman stabbed her straight in the stomach, "Y...You..."
"You won't hurt anyone else again, Circe" Wonder Woman declares, with a voice steady as the dawn. The blade glinted ominously in the dim light, the crimson of Circe's blood shining like a malevolent star against the surrounding shadows.
Circe gasped, her defiant facade crumbling as the reality of her defeat sank in. The magic that had once surged through her now flickered like a dying candle, shadows whispering of her past transgressions. 'I-I did what I had to do!' she stammered, her voice a fragile thread flailing against the weight of her own guilt.
Diana knelt beside her, the heat of battle still simmering in her veins, but a wave of compassion washed over her. 'What you're clinging to isn't power, Circe. It's fear. Pain. Those who fell before your wrath—they were not mere victims; they were lives filled with potential, love, and light. You could have built a legacy upon their kindness instead of their suffering.'
Circe's laughter came soft and broken, a sound devoid of joy. 'And what have you built, Amazon? A monument to mercy in a world where cruelty reigns? You wield your compassion like a weapon, expecting it to shield you from the hurt that lingers in this world!'
'At least I didn't bring this world to darkness and destruction like Superman's Regime have done..." Circe's life was getting weaker, slipping through her fingers like the very magic she once commanded with ease. Diana tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword, unwavering, but the shadows of Circe's words lingered in her mind like echoes in a cavern.
"We were bringing peace to the Earth by getting rid of crime once and for all! These people were just ungrateful..." Wonder Woman exclaimed in anger, "They needed to be shown the way! You could have been part of that vision, Circe.' Her voice wavered slightly, a crack in the armor of resolve forged through countless battles.
The dying sorceress's eyes narrowed, flickering with a mixture of disbelief and contempt. 'Peace, you say? You think your mercy can replace the will of fear and power? You're just as blind as they were, Diana. You wield your sword now, but it will never matter. The darkness will come for you too. It always does.'
The sorceress then dies... as her body disappears as well... Like dust...
Wonder Woman had a brief look of remorse... However, she harden her heart, telling herself that Circe deserved to die. She then looked at the knocked-out Giganta... Yet, she decided not to deal with her anymore. After all, she needed to save Kara Zor-El.
...
Back with Supergirl, she laid on her back, the air knocked from her lungs as she struggled to regain consciousness. The sudden blast from Cheetah's vicious blast-gun had overwhelmed her—an explosion of sorcery that had caught the Girl of Steel off-guard.
She felt a dark presence closing in. The familiar sound of sly movements accompanied the chill that crawled up her spine. Through blurry vision, she saw Cheetah sauntering toward her, a predatory elegance in every step.
"Girl of Steel," Cheetah teased, a smirk playing on her lips. "You are a rare, rare find. No wonder Brainiac wants you… dead or alive." The villain leaned down, her cunning gaze glinting with malice as her claws grazed Supergirl's cheek, drawing crimson blood. "Kryptonians are vulnerable to magic. And these claws cut… like magic!"
Supergirl winced as Cheetah's claws dug into her side, her powers faltering against the unforgiving sharpness of the Cheetah's enchanted edge. She gritted her teeth, fighting against the surge of pain as her mind raced. How could she turn this around?
But Cheetah contemplated her next move with twisted delight, a feline savoring the hunt. Just as she leaned in closer, the unmistakable rush of wind announced the arrival of an ally. A silhouette launched from above—not just any ally, but Wonder Woman herself, a beacon of hope amidst the chaos.
"Hang in there, Kara!" Wonder Woman shouted as she soared through the air, fearlessly crashing into Cheetah and sending her sprawling away from Supergirl. "The gods will protect us!"
Supergirl, despite being in pain, smiled at her mentor.
Cheetah rolled back to her feet while grunting, seemingly unfazed. She slammed her dislocated shoulder into a nearby pillar, the sickening crunch echoing through the chamber as she popped it back into place. "Minerva," she hissed, her voice a velvety snarl, "I'm surprised someone so feral still follows Grodd's orders."
"No, Princess... Not anymore," Cheetah shot back, fangs glinting like polished ivory. "I only joined Grodd to draw out my own quarry—YOU!"
Wonder Woman's blue gaze hardened. "A fool's errand! Like when you sought a god's power but found the Cheetah's curse."
Cheetah sneered, a wild hunger igniting within her. "More like the Cheetah's GIFT! I'm stronger, faster, and thirsty...so thirsty...for Amazon blood!"
WONDER WOMAN VS CHEETAH!
The ferocity of their duel sent ripples through the air, each combatant fueled by a mixture of rage and purpose. Cheetah and Wonder Woman engaged, movements blurring past the very limits of human vision. But as powerful as Cheetah had become, Wonder Woman's disciplined skill and divine strength pushed her relentlessly forward.
With that, the two continue to engaged in a brutal dance of combat, a flurry of claws and Amazonian grace colliding with each other. All around them the ruins of the city seemed to tremble at the force of their blows, echoing the centuries-long rivalry between predator and protector. Wonder Woman managed to clip Cheetah's claws, but the feline foe was relentless, refusing to back down.
WONDER WOMAN WINS!
"You want blood?" Wonder Woman shouted, her voice laden with fury and indignation as she tackled Cheetah, pinning her momentarily against the rubble. "Your curse can NEVER be undone. THIS is the peace you deserve!"
Wonder Woman lifted Cheetah effortlessly, one hand gripping her throat, her sword glinting ominously in the moonlight. With her free hand, she gripped her sword, glinting ominously in the dwindling light. Cheetah didn't respond; she was too weakened, her feline prowess stripped away. It was an end she deserved, Wonder Woman thought, her heart heavy with the weight of obligation.
In that moment, a shimmer of movement caught her eye. Supergirl began to stir, groggy and uncertain but rising to her feet. Supergirl, still dazed and bleeding on the ground, looked up, a mix of fear and admiration gleaming in her eyes. Before Wonder Woman could deliver the final blow, a bombastic voice echoed through the ruins.
"You all right, blondie?" Harley Quinn appeared, a gleam of mischief in her eyes as she rushed to Supergirl's side. "Sit tight."
Kara learned from them about Harley's relationship with the Joker and her involvement in Metropolis, but this utterly confused her more than everyone being afraid of her because Harley...was NOT as cruel and insane as she was told she was.
Anyways, without hesitation, Harley drew her guns and fired, the bullets whizzing past Wonder Woman and striking her sword, knocking it from her grasp in a shower of sparks.
"She's had ENOUGH, Wonder Bread!" Harley exclaimed defiantly, standing protectively before the young superhero, her bright pigtails bouncing as she moved.
"This isn't your business, Clown!" Wonder Woman glared, the anger swelling within her at Harley's audacity.
"You heard Bats: NO KILLING!" Harley continued, her stance unyielding.
"YOU lecture me?!" Wonder Woman's voice dripped with scorn. "After your involvement with Kal's family's murder, you DARE to lecture me?! How much blood is on YOUR ledger, Quinn?!"
"Oh,...buckets full, honey," Harley replied, the levity in her tone belying the truth behind her words. "I was tryin' too hard to impress the wrong guy... kinda like YOU with Superman! Especially after you let him murder my sweet Billy!"
She was right. She was ABSOLUTELY right.
Superman had deceived and fooled her just like the Joker did all those years and she just let it happen all for his love and approval. Now the process was repeating itself for Diana.
Hearing that only angered her. She felt that for all her loyalty to the Man of Steel, she did what she did because it was the right thing to do. And she sure as hell didn't like Harley comparing the two of them.
At that, Wonder Woman's rage surged, raw and overwhelming. She gritted her teeth, emotion erupting. In a single motion, she tossed Cheetah aside like a ragdoll, reclaiming her sword with furious intent. She charged at Harley, who emptied her clips with wild abandon, each bullet deflected by Diana's indestructible bracelets.
But the rage had blinded Wonder Woman. In a flash, she sidestepped Harley's frantic dodges and closed the distance. With a swift, devastating thrust, she pierced Harley's side.
"NO!" Supergirl gasped, witnessing the horror from only a few feet away.
Wonder Woman kicked Harley off her sword, the twisted scene manifesting into a nightmare. Supergirl's heart raced with fury and compassion as she launched herself at Wonder Woman, delivering a powerful dropkick that sent the Amazon tumbling across the battlefield. After that, she then walked up to the former clown princess of crime.
"You're losing too much blood! This is gonna hurt... a lot," Supergirl cried, dropping to her knees beside Harley.
"Heh... even better..." Harley labored through gritted teeth, arching her back as pain coursed through her like electric fire.
With swift decisiveness, Supergirl unleashed her heat vision, focusing on the grave wound, and cauterizing the wound in a desperate bid to save Harley's life. Harley screamed, and yet through the pain, she managed a pained grin, her heart full of a new kind of exhilaration.
AND THAT WAS CHAPTER 15, EVERYONE! WE'RE ALMOST THERE! Don't worry, Shazam's gonna appear in the next chapter, y'all will see how, hehe! Anyways, thank you for the support and patience, i really appreciate it! Also, Temporal King, thank you for your kind words and the advice. I'll add them in the story and previous chapters once I update it!
Y'all can also see that I'm trying to make the fight scenes longer for this story to make it more exciting, cooler, sorrow, tears, remorseful, and for thrills! I even bring out all of Wonder Woman's archenemies (except for Ares, lol!) to make it happen! Believe me, I wanted Circe to be in Injustice 2 as much as everyone else, but alas, we got Cheetah (I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just saying). Even Giganta was a background cameo in Injustice: Gods Among Us and was only mentioned in Injustice 2, she doesn't even appear in the second game!
Alrighty, we're heading to Supergirl's chapter now, and then we're going to Shazam's chapter!
Don't forget to read, comment/review and share this story to others around the World! God Bless us all!
