Thunder, Rain, and Lightning

(Abigail's POV)

*It's been a few weeks since we went to the Tundra & met Rotor's Dad. Today, I was on a hoverboard alongside Sonic, who had Chip on his head. Behind him was Lupe being pulled along with the Sling Rings, a new invention of Dr. Ellidy's that he sent to us. We were running across the Thunder Plains, an area a north of the Kingdom of Acorn, from a giant Super Badnik called E-118 Tau*

*After they returned to the Wolf Pack Nation, the twins Lyco & Leeta, practically begged Lupe to let them start their own team of Freedom Fighters. She was unsure about it at first, but when she saw the determination in their eyes, she complied. They recruited a few other wolves who wanted to join them in their fight & moved to Northamer to start the Neo Wolf Pack Freedom Fighters. Lupe & her family were visiting them when we arrived. Lupe volunteered to join us, wanting to relive all times*

Sonic: How you doing back there, Lupe?

Lupe: Do not slow down! Just get us to the plains!

*Chip was holding on to Sonic's head for dear life*

Chip: So . . . Fast . . .!

Abigail: You could've stayed on the Sky Patrol!

Chip: And . . . Miss . . . All the . . . Excitement!?

(Lacey's POV)

*I was fighting Badniks with Sally, Bunnie, Lobo, Lyco, Leeta, & some of the Neo Wolf Pack. Lupe's kids were back at the Wolf Pack's HQ. Well, Sally was just watching Sonic, Abby, Chip & Lupe as they ran from the Super Badnik*

Sally: That wasn't the plan, Sonic!

*A frog Badnik came up on her from behind, but I destroyed it by kicking it*

Lacey: Heads up, Sally!

Bunnie: Besides, when has Sonic eveh stuck to a plan?

Sally: He has! Like when we . . . Um . . . *the three of us destroyed more Badniks* . . . All right. Almost never

Bunnie: And he's always come through, so quit yer worryin'!

Lacey: Are you worried about him because you're the leader or because he's your boyfriend?

*Sally blushed*

Sally: A little of both, actually.

(Abigail's POV)

*Once we got the edge of the plain, Lupe screeched to a halt while Sonic kept going. I grabbed on to the Ring with her & pulled*

Sonic: This is your stop, Buddy!

*Chip jumped off his head & flew towards us*

Chip: Do you have him?

Lupe: "NRRGH!" We've got him!

Abigail: Good and tight!

Chip: Good. Now . . . DUCK!

*He pushed our head down when a tentacle from E-118 Tau came over us. Sonic kept running towards the Plain with the Badnik right behind him*

Sonic:*laugh* Thanks for following me. Pretty dangerous terrain, huh?

*Lupe & I kept pulling on the Ring until the sky looked ready to release another lightning bolt*

Sonic: Have fun with that!

*He stopped running & got pulled back as the lightning bolt hit the Badnik, destroying it*

(Lacey's POV)

*We all saw the destruction from here & the Neo Wolf Pack cheered*

Lacey: Wasn't that just as good as your plan?

Sally: It was certainly more dangerous and reckless . . .

Nicole: Any more than when you entered the Digital Realm to challenge Phage alone? And his tactic was the same as what you -

*Sally pouted & closed her handheld computer. Bunnie & I laughed*

Sally: "Ahem!" Well, I can't argue with the results.

*Bunnie opened the handheld*

Bunnie: Sally won't risk anyone's life but her own, Nicole. One of these days, she's gotta figure out she ain't an acceptable casualty, neither.

Lacey: I guess some part of her still hasn't learned from the Roboticization incident*

Nicole: Double negative, but I concur.

(Abigail's POV)

*Sonic caught up with us*

Sonic:*to Lupe* HA HA! Bring back memories?

Lupe: Hah, yes. Bittersweet ones.

Sonic: Gotta thank Dr. Ellidy for these Rings. They came in handy!

Chip: And thank you, Lupe!

Abigail: Same with you, Chip. We'd both probably be headless right now, if not for you.

*Chip blushed at the praise*

Lupe: Oh, no. Sonic and the Freedom Fighters will never need to thank me for anything.

Chip: Huh? You owe them for something?

Lupe: More than I could ever repay. It was years ago . . . *she remembered all the times Sally & the Freedom Fighters helped her & her family. especially when they had been Roboticized & needed to settle the feud between the Felidae Tribe* With Eggman gone, it wasn't hard for Sally and me to rally the original Wolf Pack and drive him off many times. I've lost so much, but they gave me hope, and the will to keep going. For that, I will be forever grateful.

*Lacey & Bunnie wiped away tears at her speech*

Sonic: We were pretty surprised to see you on Gregorios' list. You never told us you were a Gaia Key Guardian!

Lupe: No. But you never asked either.

Sonic:*laugh* Fair point.

Sally: I'm just glad it's one less battle for us to fight. Eggman doesn't deploy his E-100 Units casually. I'm sure the rest of the Dark Egg Legion Garrison around the Gaia Temple is fierce.

Lupe: It doesn't matter. They're in the wrong place.

Abigail: What?

Lupe: The ancients weren't fools. They built many decoy temples. Only the Guardians know the true locations of the ones they're sworn to protect. With that in mind, the Neo Wolf Pack has been staging small raids to make Eggman think the one he's controlling is important.

Bunnie: Decoy temples, huh? You reckon that's Coral's lookin' after?

Sonic: Probably? Maybe? I don't follow all this mystic stuff. I just ran fast, smash things, and save the world.

Lacey: Yeah. We know.

Sally: Smart thinking! And that explains the E-100 Unit!

Lupe: Maybe. It was straying far from the false temple, though. As if it were searching for something . . .

Chip:*off-screen* Hey! Sonic! *we turned & saw him in front of a destroyed Prison Egg**on-screen* This looks like an Eggman machine! Is this important?

*We all ran up to it*

Sally: OH MY GOSH! This is the decoy Egg Prison that had the Chaos Emerald! It must've gone off course and crashed here! But . . . I don't see the Chaos Emerald . . .

Bunnie: Maybe one of the locals found it! If so, it might still be in the area!

*Chip & Sonic high-fived*

Sonic: Nice find, Chip!

Leeta: Lyco and I will send the Wolf Pack to ask around. Someone must have seen it!

*Sally shook hands with her*

Sally: Thank you, Leeta! Bunnie and I will search, too!

Bunnie: Yahoo! In yo' face Eggman!

Lacey: Yeah!

Sonic: You want me to come along in case things get dicey?

Sally: Not this time. You, Abby, and Lacey go to the Key's hiding place with Lupe. We'll link up later.

Bunnie: We'll be back faster'n you can say "finders keepers!"

*Lacey, Sally, & I got on hoverboards, Bunnie used her rocket feet, Chip held on to the Sling Rings, & Sonic ran on the ground with the Wolf Pack, while holding on to the other Sling Ring*

Sonic: Cool. See you soon, ladies! We'll have this planet fixed in no time!
