After meeting Bernard, the Posidro Gum Leader, our heroes are continuing on their journey for Davis' upcoming gym battle. At the moment, they're stopping at a local Pokemon Center.

"Here you go. All the pokemon you left are in good shape." Nurse Joy confirmed.

"Thanks a lot, Nurse Joy." Davis said as they took their pokeballs back. "I can't wait. Posidro City won't be far now, and then I'll have my gym battle against Bernard." It seemed like things were all bright and sunny. That didn't last as a dark cloud blocked the sun.

"Woo..." Terra moaned as she felt something was off.

"What's wrong?" Cletus asked.

"Anyone else get a shiver down their spine?" Terra said as it felt like there was something eerie. Just then, the doors opened up and they all met someone creepy. He was all white with black lips and long black hair with a red streak in it. He wore a red too with black sleeves and wore black leather pants. He also seemed to have a dead look on his face. Everything about this guy sent a fearful feeling through you.I want to be the very best

(Davis' voice): The Scaring Hour

That mysterious trainer that walked in was giving Davis and the others an eerie feeling. As he walked by, they all kept clear of him.

"Can you make sure this Pokemon is in good shape?" He asked as he gave a pokemon to Nurse Joy.

"Of course." Nurse Joy said as she took the pokeball and went to do her job.

"Who is that guy?" Terra questioned.

"I don't know, but he's giving me the creeps. I guess he's a goth." Imperialdramon said.

"let's just ignore him and he won't be a problem." Cletus said.

"We need to get going anyway." Davis said, but Cletus was thinking differently as he looked out at the weather.

"I don't know, Davis. The clouds don't look that friendly. Maybe we should hang around here in case it's going to rain." Cletus suggested. They all thought that it might be a good idea. Better to be safe than sorry. Since they can't go anywhere, they just hung around the Pokemon Center.

"So, what are we going to do until it might clear up?" Terra said.

"I don't know about you, but maybe I should give Professor Oak a call to see how my other pokemon are doing. I really miss those guys." Davis said. "After all, I came back for them."

"Came back? From where?" Terra questioned with Davis panicking. He can't really say he's from another dimension.

"Uh... Not important!" Davis said.

"You said you have other pokemon?" Terra questioned as she just brushed past the whole thing.

"Tons." Davis said. "I've got a Sawk, Seadra, Houndoom..." He would have kept listing his pokemon until something happened.

"You've got a Houndoom?" Davis got a good scare when the goth guy appeared behind him.

"Don't do that! You almost gave me a heart attack!" Davis complained. "What did you say?!"

"I heard you have a Houndoom. Houndoom are some of my favorite pokemon." The goth said. "It is said that a Houndoom's howl can call the Grim Reaper." The way he said it with no emotion made it really creepy. They were all getting disturbed by him. "Oh, my name is Loki by the way."

"Hi... I'm Davis and these are my friends Terra, Cletus, and my partner Imperialdramon." He said with him being a little nervous while the others were feeling creeped out by him.

"It's nice to meet all of you." Loki said with no emotion. "Are you going to the fields as well with the tall grass?"

"Fields with tall grass? What are you talking about?" Cletus questioned.

"That's where I'm going to find the Cacturne." Loki said.

"Cacturne?" Terra questioned as she pulled out her pokedex.

"Cacturne, the Scarecrow Pokemon. A grass and dark type, and the evolve form of Cacnea. This pokemon rests during the day to avoid losing moisture, but is more active at night."

"But I thought Cacturne lived in deserts. You're saying some of them live in this grassy field?" Cletus asked.

"That's right since they are known as the Scarecrow Pokemon." Loki said. "It would stand to reason they would like to be in places you would see a scarecrow. I thought that since you had a Houndoom, you would be interested in a Cacturne. I'm going to catch one myself."

"How did he come to that conclusion?" Imperialdramon whispered to Terra.

"I guess he likes creepy pokemon." Terra whispered.

"Creepy or not, I would love to catch a new pokemon." Davis said as he pushed the fear away. "Is it okay if we go with you?"

"Sure. We can go tonight." Loki said.

"Tonight? The pokedex said their most active a night." Terra said. "Wouldn't it make more sense to try catching them during the day?"

"It's better to do it at night." Loki said with all of them too scared to argue with him.

...

Later

When it got darker out, they all went with Loki to this tall grass field to find Cacturne. However, traveling at night made things creepy. Davis was putting up a brave face, but Terra and Cletus were getting scared.

"Why are we doing this again?" Terra questioned.

"Loki is certainly an interesting character. He seems to be interested in creepy stuff." Cletus claimed.

"Stop being a bunch of babies. We're dealing with pokemon. It's not like we're ghost hunting." Davis said as he put on a brave face.

"Davis is right." Imperialdramon agreed.

"Yeah. We're just looking for pokemon at night." Terra said as they tried to change the way they think.

"But looking for ghosts seem like fun, too." Loki said with everyone feeling disturbed. " Here we are." All of them looked and saw a large field of tall grass that looked for like it went on for a while...with scarecrows. "Somewhere inside is a Cacturne."

"How are we even going to find them in all of this?" Terra questioned.

"With this pokemon." Loki said. "Come out, Golbat." He emotionlessly said as he released his pokemon.

"Gol!"

"Who's that pokemon?" Terra asked with her using her pokedex.

"Golbat, the Bat Pokemon. A poison and flying type, and the evolve form of Zubat. Golbat's fangs are hollow. They have tiny feet, but they can actually walk quite skillfully."

"Golbat is another one of my favorites. It's fangs are designed to suck out...""Don't even finish that sentence!" Terra interrupted as she already felt creeped out.

"Anyway, Golbat can produce ultrasonic waves that can be used for detecting movement." Loki claimed. "It can help find the Cacturne while also looking through the air."

"I see... Not a bad idea." Cletus said, but was still feeling rather scared.

"The first scream and I'm out of here!" Terra whispered. All of them continued on with their search for the Cacturne. They all entered the grass while Golbat searches through the air. As they made their way through the grass, it was as thick as a cornfield, and the lack of light is making this all kinds of eerie.

"Man, this place is thick." Davis said. "You can't go anywhere without grass getting in your face. At least fields on farms have paths for you."

"Let's all stick together. It might be easy to get lost in here." Cletus said.

"Don't even put the idea in my head." Terra said. As she kept looking around, she couldn't shake this weird feeling. She took a look behind her, but there was nothing there.

"Something wrong?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"I feel like..." Terra carefully moved closer to some of the grass only to have a Hoothoot fly right over her head and gave her a scare. "That's it! This is too creepy for me!"

"Terra, just calm down. Sure it's a little spooky, but it's not like anything bad is going to happen to us." Davis said.

"Easy for you to say! I feel like we're being watched!" Terra argued, probably because they actually are. "This is starting to look like a scene from a horror movie, where something is going to jump out and attack us."

"It's fine. We have the moon watching over us." Loki claimed. "Besides, the night can be enjoyable. We have the perfect scenery."

"You really like all this spooky stuff, don't you?" Davis asked.

"Yes. All things come from dark nothingness." Loki claimed.

"Wow... That's deep." Cletus said as that is true in a way.

"I alway enjoyed a good scare, ghost stories, and Halloween. I guess it just took a life of its own." Loki claimed. "A lot of people think I might be creep6, but that's actually a good thing to me. I look around and see a lot of people so happy and cheery. It actually makes me sick. This sort of thing does bring me joy, but I'm not really one to be emotional. I know it's not for everyone, but I like it and that's all that matters."

"I guess you're right." Cletus said as he saw it differently. "If you like this stuff Loki, who are we to judge?"

"Plus, scary stuff can be fun like movies and Halloween." Davis said.

"Maybe, but I still don't like it here." Terra mumbled. It seemed like things were okay until they heard Golbat calling out.

"It sounds like Golbat might have found something." Imperialdramon said. All of them looked around for something. Terra was scared, but she did manage to catch a glimpse of something.

"What was that?" Terra questioned. She had a closer look to see what might be in there. "I know someone is there, and I'm not in the mood for anymore scares." She moved the grass out of the way to see another scarecrow. "It's just another dumb scarecrow."

"Wait a sec..." Cletus said as he tried to get a better look.

"Cacturne!" It turned out to be a real Cacturne. It sure gave them all a scare. It wasn't alone either. More and more of them came out and had them surrounded.

"All of the scarecrows are Cacturne! Should have seen that coming!" Imperialdramon said.

"What do we do?! What do we do?!" Terra said as she was in a state of panic.

"Calm down. Why are you freaking out so much?" Loki questioned. "They're not doing anything." When he pointed that out, they saw he was right. None of them are moving or really doing anything. They're just standing there. "See? Is it scary that they're just standing there?"

"I guess not." Davis said.

"Speak for yourself." Terra claimed.

"Come on, Terra. It's not that bad." Imperialdramon said. Terra took a moment to calm down and had a look around to get a good look at all the Cacturne.

"I suppose you're right. They don't really look that bad." Terra said. "How come a few of them look a bit different?"

"It's just a gender difference." Loki said.

"This isn't really so bad. I guess the Cacturne were just harmlessly pulling a prank on us." Cletus said as he was dropping his guard and began to fell relaxed.

"You shouldn't have any problem catching one." Davis said. "By the way, if they aren't really that scary, why do you want to catch one? Why are they just standing there?"

"It's because they're waiting for us to run out of energy and prey on us." Loki said. The moment he said that, the stares turned into creepy looks. Davis and the others couldn't hold back their screams and ran out of there as fast as they could with Loki staying behind with the Cacturne.

...

The Next Day

"I can't believe we left Loki back there, and he didn't come back!" Davis complained as they were a little freaked. They made it out, but Loki never came back. "We've got to go back and help him!"

"It's the day now, so the Cacturne shouldn't be as active." Cletus said.

"I just hope it's not too late." Terra said.

"Too late for what?" They all looked and saw that Loki was back and perfectly okay.

"Loki! You're not hurt?!" Terra said.

"I'm fine. I also managed to get my Cacturne. Yay." Loki claimed, but he didn't sound excited. "Thank you for joining me. Perhaps I'll see you again. I'm sure Cacturne would." He said as he was off, but left a spooky impression.

"I hope not." Terra said.

After meeting a trainer and having an experience that was...unique, our heroes have gained new insight to different kinds of people and pokemon. They'll meet all kinds on their journey.
