"Yeah. I managed to get four badges, and now I'm halfway from entering the Pokemon League." Davis said as he couldn't stop staring at his four badges.
"Davis, better pack up. We're swinging by the school to say goodbye to our new friends." Cletus reminded. Since their business is done, it was time for them to leave Bacu City.
"It's too bad we have to leave Bacu City." Terra said. "I really like it here."
"Maybe you'll come back one day, but it's time for us to hit the road." Davis said as it was just that time.
I want to be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
(Pokemon!)
Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle every day to claim my rightful place
(Yeah!)
Pokemon
Gotta catch'em all
Oh, so true
Our courage will pull us through
You teach me, I'll teach you

(Davis' voice): Take the Step
Davus has managed to win his fourth badge against Jean. Now that he has, it's time for our heroes to leave Bacu City. Before they do go, they wish to say goodbye to the friends they made.
"Wow. Check that place out." Imperialdramon said. They were walking by and soon noticed they were walking by a mansion. "Whoever lives there is loaded."
"I'll say." Terra said. As they marveled at the place, they saw who lived there and saw it was Adrien. "Adrien!"
"Oh... Hey, guys." Adrien said, but he didn't seem that happy.
"Adrien? What's wrong?" Cletus asked.
"It's nothing." Adrien said as he didn't want to talk about it. He was about to leave, but Davis grabbed him by the shoulder and gave him a look to get Adrien to open up. "It's my father. Davis, I enjoyed seeing you battle. I enjoyed seeing a real gym battle. It has me wanting to go on my own journey and challenge gyms myself, but I know my father will never allow it."
"Have you talked to him about it?" Terra asked.
"I chickened out. I know he's just going to say no." Adrien said as he sounded so disappointed.
"Maybe you just need a little backup." Davis said as he was about to go in.
No, don't." Adrien said as he got in Davis' way. "My father is so stubborn, and I don't want to get you in trouble."
"Don't worry about me. Trust me when I say that I've dealt with a few messed up people myself." Davis assured. "How bad can this guy be?" Davis marched right in the mansion and met with Gabriel.
"What is the meaning of this?" Gabriel said.
"Hi. My name is Davis. I'm a friend of Adrien's. Your his father Gabriel, right?"
"I prefer it if you called me Mr. Agreste." Barbie's claimed as he sounded rather stern. "What do you want?"
"Well, this is about what Adrien wants. He tells me that he wants to go on his own journey, but he's afraid you won't allow it." Davis claimed.
"And he's right. Adrien's not allowed to go anywhere without my approval." Gabriel said. "He should be grateful I allowed him to go to public school rather than being homeschooled."
"Wow. That's a little harsh." Davis said. "Adrien wants to go on a journey."
"No. Now out." Gabriel said like he demanded it. "Adrien, this is the last time I want to here of this. Unless I say otherwise, you will not leave Bacu City." Gabriel isn't fooling around. He's put his foot down and is making sure Adrien never leaves at all.
...
The School
Adrien still isn't over what happened. Adrien would love to travel and get to do what he wants, but his father has made it clear that's never going to happen. Davis and the others didn't leave yet because they didn't want to leave him like this. As Adrien sat on a bench in disappointment, everyone tried to figure out how to help him.
"Poor, Adrien. He looks so sad." Alya said as the girls were talking
"I know just what to do. I'll run home, get him the emergency present I have for when he's sad, cheer him up..." "Wait a minute." Terra interrupted.
"Emergency present?" She questioned.
"Yes. I have one for his birthday, Christmas, his next seven birthdays..." Marinette kept listing them until Terra covered her mouth and stopped her.
"That's a little weird. You're crushing big time on him, aren't you?" Terra questioned.
"What?! No!" Marinette denied, but it was rather obvious.
"Anyway, Adrien is upset because he wants to go on his own journey, but his father won't allow it." Terra explained.
"A journey?! Away from me?!" Marinette said as she sounded like she was panicking.
"Calm down, Marinette. Remember that this is what Adrien would want." Alya assured. "Adrien wants to be like everyone else, but his father has such high standards for him. Mr. Agreste can be rather controlling and demanding. He doesn't listen to anyone. He claims he's doing what he believes is best for Adrien, but sometimes it's not what Adrien wants. What Adrien really needs is to stand up for himself." That does sound like it, but how can he? At that moment, Davis came over and sat with Adrien.
"I'm sorry about your father not letting you go on a journey." Davis said.
"I'm sorry, too. Thanks for trying, but I warned you about my father." Adrien said.
"What's his deal? He's strict." Davis said. "Still, you got to do something."
"Why are you still here, and talking to my Adrikins?" Chloe said as she came over. "You have your ugly badge, now you can leave Bacu City as the loser you are. You're a loser because you lost the Battle Tournament, and you only won your ridiculous gym battle because the gym leader felt pity for you."
"And I would have just challenged him again if I lost, which means you would be seeing more of me." Davis said to Chloe's annoyance. "Besides, I'm trying to help Adrien. He wants to go on a journey, but his father won't allow it."
"Adrien! You're not seriously thinking of going on a ridiculous journey where you have to walk everywhere, partake in ridiculous battles, and socialize with nobodies." Chloe said being a little dramatic. "Not to mention leaving me."
"Well, yeah. Although, I wouldn't have put it like that." Adrien said. "Seeing Davis battle has me wanting to even more, but my father won't let it happen."
"As he shouldn't. You're too precious." Chloe said.
"Drama queen." Davis complained. Focusing on Adrien, he tried to think of a way to cheer him up. "In that case, let's you and I have a battle."
"You and me?" Adrien questioned?
"Why not? I would love to see what Panthark can do, and you love battling." Davis said.
"Ha! Now you are being utterly ridiculous. Adrien would never waste his time with you." Chloe said.
"Let's do it!" Adrien said as he clearly loved the idea. Chloe doesn't seem to know him at all. Agreeing to do this, the two of them stood facing each other and were set for their own battle. "This is so exciting. Panthark, let's go!" Adrien called out his partner. A Panthark emerged with it standing. Once it was like, a Panthark opened its eyes and showed they were a bright sharp green.
"Rrar!"
"Time to see what you're really all about, Panthark! Cubolt, I choose you!" Davis called as he chose his pokemon.
"Cubolt!"
"Okay, Davis! Don't hold anything back!" Adrien said.
"I never do. Cubolt, start with Spark!" Davis called.
"Cubolt!" Cubolt coated itself in electricity and charged right at him for an attack.
"Panthark, Shadow Claw!" Adrien called. Panthark waited for Cubolt to get close enough. When he was, Panthark had dark energy form around a claw and slashed it against Cubolt. "Now use Slash!" Panthark extended its nails and slashed at Cubolt again with it taking some damage.
"Are you okay?" Davis questioned. Cubolt took some damage, but was able to get back up. "Nice. Now use Fury Swipes!" Cubolt jumped right at Panthark and started scratching away at Panthark's face.
"Use Shadow Claw again!" Adrien called.
"Dodge it and use Bite!" Davis called. Panthark tried to attack Cubolt again, Cubolt slipped underneath Panthark to avoid the attack. Cubolt then jumped at Panthark's tail and hit down on it. Panthark was in some real pain from that, but tried to shake him off.
"Blast it off with Shadow Ball!" Adrien called. Panthark shot the dark orb right in the air. When it came down, it swung its tail and smashed Cubolt right against it. Cubolt was knocked right off. It bounced against the ground and had trouble getting back up.
"Ha! As if he could ever beat Adrien." Chloe mocked.
"Don't give up, Cubolt. We can still win this." Davis said. Cubolt certainly didn't want to let Davis down. He kept fighting and began to glow. An unexpected event was happening.
"What's happening to Cubolt?" Marinette questioned.
"It's evolving!" Terra said. They all watched with Cubolt evolving to Cheebolt.
"Cheebolt!"
"This is amazing! You just evolved into Cheebolt!" Davis said as he was so excited to see his pokemon evolved.
"That's incredible!" Adrien said.
"And that means he holds a lot more power. Now use Thunder Fang!" Davis said. Cheebolt leaped at Panthark with electric fangs and bit down on it.
"Not bad. It does have a lot of power, but I think it's time to end this." Adrien said. "Time to use Cataclysm!" Panthark gathered power around its paws with it surging with dark matter.
"What is that?!" Davis said.
"It's a dark-type attack that only Panthark can use." Adrien said. "Panthark gathers destructive power in its paw and unleashed it in one powerful strike."
"In that case, let's step it up. Cheebolt, Spark!" Davis called. Cheebolt coated itself in electricity, but there was a lot more voltage than usual. The two pokemon charged right at each other. Their two attacks collided and the two of them tried to overpower the other. Both of them pushed back until a large explosion went off. When the smoke cleared, Panthark was the one on the ground.
"This battle is over! Panthark is unable to battle!" Cletus declared.
"We did it! Nice going, Cheebolt!" Davis cheered with Cheebolt rushing over and acting like an excited cat to its owner.
"Nice battle, Davis." Terra said.
"That wasn't Spark, Davis. That was Wild Charge." Cletus clarified. "It's a powerful attack, but you need to be careful. It can cause some damage to the user."
"That really was a great battle." Adrien said as he made sure Panthark was okay. "In fact, this battle has helped me even more. It makes me want my own journey even more. I'll stand up to my father, challenge the gyms, and we can battle again."
"That's great, and it will happen." Davis said as he held up his fist. He and Adrien bumped fists with them both wanting to battle again in the future. Panthark and Cheebolt were feeling it themselves as they stared at each other with some intensity.
"Look at that. Davis has a new rival, and it looks like they're pokemon are becoming rivals as well." Cletus said.
"This is great. Adrien is sure to go on his own journey now." Terra said.
...
Adrien's Home
"So, that's why I want to go on my own journey." Adrien said as he and Davis talked to Gabriel again. He poured his heart out to his father as to why he wants to go on a journey.
"How can you say no after that?" Davis questioned.
"No." Gabriel said as they were shocked to hear that. "I thought I made it clear this discussion was over."
"What?! How could you?!" Davis said.
"Let me explain something to you, young man. My son is perfection personified." Gabriel claimed. "He has an image and reputation to uphold. He must uphold the standards that are set for him. If he goes on a journey, how will I even know he's taken care of? How will he get the nutrition or education he needs? What if something were to happen to him? Adrien has everything he needs right here. What reason could he have to leave? If he goes on this journey, it could ruin everything."
"What about what he wants?" Davis questioned with him getting irritated. "As his father, you should care about what Adrien wants."
"I decide what's best for my son." Gabriel claimed. "I expect him to fulfill his obligations. Adrien, you not going on a journey."
"Adrien, forget this! It doesn't matter if he's your father!" Davis said. "He can't really stop you. This is your choice."
"I think I've also decided that you are a terrible influence on my son." Gabriel said. "I'll see to it that you two never meet up again." Davis couldn't believe this guy. Does he not care about what his son wants? "Now get out of my home. Adrien, go to your room." Adrien felt so disappointed and upset, but he still listened to his father. "This better be the last time I see you, young man."
"Don't worry. My friends and I were leaving Bacu City. No one is stopping us from going on our journey." Davis said, but still felt bad for Adrien. "I'm sorry, Adrien."
"I'm sorry, too." Adrien said. It seems like this is it for Adrien.
...
The School
"I feel so bad for Adrien. I've never met anyone so stubborn." Davis complained.
"That's his father for you." Nino said.
"You tried, but I don't think there's anymore we can do." Cletus said as he and the others were ready to leave with the rest of the class seeing them off.
"Are you sure you guys can't stay?" Nino asked.
"Sorry, but we have to go." Terra said.
"It was nice to meet all of you." Marinette said.
"Good luck on the rest of your journey." Alya said.
"Davis, if you're looking for your next gym battle, you might want to try the one in Gaios City." Miss Bustier guided.
"Gaios City? Thanks. Well, I guess this is it." Davis said as he and his friends were on the move.
"Bye!" They all called as they all saw them off.
And so, our heroes time in Bacu Coty comes to an end. They've made many great friends and memories, but its now time for them to continue on with their journey. With four badges in his pocket, Davis is much closer to the Grecko League.
...
Adrien
Later that night, Adrien did something daring. He actually snuck out through a window and left his house. He had a bag pack and was ready to go.
"Sorry, Dad. It's time I take the step to my own life and my own adventure." Adrien said and took off. He actually snuck out of his own house and is going against his own father to live the life that he wants. A brand new trainer is now setting out on his own journey.
