Our heroes continue to make their way to Gaios City for Davis' next gym battle. They made their way through the desert and knew that Gaios City had to be just up ahead.
"There it is! I see it!" Imperialdramon called. Davis and the others kept moving until they could see it right before them. Gaios City was up ahead of them. "We finally made it."
"Oh yeah! My next gym battle is just up ahead!" Davis said as he was pumped for it.
"Finally. I was starting to wonder when we would ever get through that desert." Terra said. She was glad to be there, but she noticed up ahead. She saw that there was a giant hole on the edge of the city. "What's with the giant hole over there?" She questioned.
"It looks like some sort of tourist spot over there." Cletus said. "Maybe I can find out what it is."
"It's what Gaios City is known for. It's called Hades Entrance." All of them looked up a rock formation and spotted someone up there. It looked like a young woman with curly black hair and dark skin. She wore an orange and white unitard with shorts and short sleeves.
"Who is she?" Davis questioned. Suddenly, she surprised them by jumping off the rock, but that was really dangerous and gave them a good scare. Falling from up there could be really bad.
Through the water, forest, and up in the sky
In the fire, thunder, and right in your heart
There are so many, many, many to find
And I know I can do it
(I can do it)
I know I can catch them all-all-all
(Gotta catch'em all)
So let's go
(Come on)
Oh
Watch me, here I go
Pokemon, here I come
It's destiny calling
I'll give it my all
It's all I can do
(Davis' voice): Look Out Below
"What's she doing?! That's crazy!" Cletus said as they all watched her dropped down. Suddenly, something emerged right out of the ground. They all saw it was a Boldore and it was right under her. When Boldore appeared there, she held out her hands and landed in a handstand right on Boldore.
"Perfect, Boldore." The woman said and jumped right off.
"That was crazy!" Davis said.
"Do you have any idea how risky that was?! You could have gotten seriously hurt!" Cletus said.
"That's what made it fun!" She said as she laughed it off like it was nothing.
"I don't think that's anything to laugh about." Terra said.
"What can I say? I've always been a daredevil and risktaker." The woman said. "The risk adds to the thrill. The daring position I'm in makes it more fun. You should have seen me when I go bungee jumping, standing at high grounds in a storm, or hanging from the whiskers of a Gyarados." She just laughed all of it off, but they all just thought she was nuts. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Gia, and I'm Gaios City's gym leader."
"You're the gym leader?!" Davis said as they couldn't believe they were actually meeting the gym leader right before them. "It's great to meet you. My name is Davis, and I came a long way to challenge your gym."
"Have you? Good. Challenges can be just as fun those daring stunts." Gia said as she sounded like she was looking forward to a battle. Davis seems to have found himself an interesting gym leader.
...
Gaios City
Since they met the gym leader, she's showing them around. Gaios City might be in the middle of a wasteland or a desert, but it seemed like a great city. It had nice buildings, people appeared to be living happy lives, and everything else you could find in a city.
"You see, some trainers are hesitant to come to this place." Gia said. "Being out in a place like this with such rough terrain, they don't like to travel all the way out here. Still, I've got no complaints. Rough terrain like this is great for daring stunts."
"You mean like what we saw earlier? That seemed rather dangerous to me." Cletus said. "You could have gotten seriously hurt. Even though your pokemon was there to help you out, I don't think a Boldore was the best choice."
"Still, the way you landed was pretty impressive. You have to be rather strong to land the way you did." Terra said.
"You have to be if you want to be a bit of a daredevil." Gia said. "Let's just say you need to know how to take a punch. I know some people say it's dangerous, but that's part of what makes it fun. I just love doing stunts like that. Not only does it help me see what I'm capable of, but it also makes me feel alive."
"I don't really get all of that, but I'm just hoping to have our gym battle." Davis said. "Since that Boldore was yours, you must work with rock-type pokemon. So, what are we waiting for? Let's go to your gym and have ourselves a battle."
"I like your attitude. You want to get straight to business, and you've got plenty of enthusiasm." Gia said.
"Hold on. I want to know more about that giant hole we saw." Cletus said. "It's called Hades' Entrance. What's it all about? I would like to get a closer look at it."
"Can't it wait until after our gym battle?" Davis questioned.
"Are you sure you don't want to know now? There's actually a myth to it that is tied to a legendary pokemon." Gia said. When she said that, even Davis couldn't say no to seeing that giant hole.
...
Hades' Entrance
"Here we are. This is the most famous sight in Gaios. People are allowed to come here, and we did set a rail around it for safety." Gia said. They all walked over to the giant hole and they almost couldn't believe it. They couldn't believe how huge it was, and it was so deep that the bottom couldn't even be seen.
"Wow... It's deep." Davis said. "Should I spit down there to try and see how far it goes?"
"Don't you dare. Not only would that be disrespectful, but it would also be really gross." Terra said. "Gia, you said that this hole has something to do with a legendary pokemon. I wonder if this is what Professor Sassafrass came to study."
"Does this giant hole have something to do Vastnus or Unicris?" Cletus questioned.
"No. It's tied to another legendary pokemon that's named Cerbmare." Gia claimed.
"Cerbmare?!" All of them said as they haven't even heard of that pokemon before.
"It is said that Vastnus embodies the heavens, Unicris embodies the earth, but Cerbmare is a pokemon of another darker realm; if you know what I mean." Gia claimed. Terra pulled out her pokedex and looked up the pokemon. The pokemon appeared to be a three-headed dog with black fur, pointy ears, and had spikes coming out of all three necks with a spike ball at the end of it's thin tail.
"Cerbmare, the Nightmare Pokemon. A fire and dark-type. This legendary pokemon is said to guard the entrance to the afterlife, but it will punish those who have been bad in their lives."
"That's one scary-looking pokemon." Imperialdramon said.
"Cerbmare is one powerful pokemon." Gia said. "According to legend, Cerbmare was the one that created this giant hole. He was greatly angered and unleashed its power and created this giant hole. They say that the entrance to the underworld is down that hole. Others say that the hole is the entrance itself because it's bottomless. That's why it's called Hades Entrance."
"Wow. That's incredible." Terra said.
"Oh please. A bottomless hole is impossible." Cletus said.
"Has anyone gone down there to check it out?" Terra questioned.
"Not really. Since this has been made a national landmark, you would need very special permission to go down there." Gia said. "Besides, it's not really safe to climb down. The sides are so smooth that it's difficult to climb. One wrong move could be your last, especially since there's no way to tell how far it really goes. Once you get down there, you might not be able to get out. Even a daredevil like me wouldn't dare to do something like that. I don't want to get stuck down there and never come out."
"Well, while there is no way for it to be bottomless, I do believe those reasons as to why no one investigated are plausible." Cletus said.
"But to think... Cerbmare could be right down there." Davis said as it amazed him there could be a legendary pokemon right below them.
"Well, you got a look at Hades' Entrance. Davis, are you ready for that gym battle?" Gia said as she was ready to get to it.
"Yeah!" Davis said as his attention shifted to their upcoming battle. "I'm ready to go right now, so let's do it."
"Help! Someone help!" They could hear someone calling out for help. They looked around to see who needed help and soon found someone at a construction zone in need of help with him hanging off the building.
"That isn't good!" Gia said as they all hurried to see if there was anything they could do to help. A lot of people gathered around and saw what was happening. That construction worker needs help because he's not going to hold on for much longer.
"Someone has to do something, and fast!" Terra said.
"Imperialdramon, fly up there and get that guy before he..." Davis didn't get to finish telling Imperialdramon what to do until Gia seems to be beating him to the punch. She was taking matters into her own hands. "What's she doing?!"
"Boldore, let's rock!" Gia called as she released her pokemon.
"Boldore!"
"Boldore, Stone Edge Staircase!" Gia ordered.
"Boldore!" Boldore had rocks shoot out of the ground and Gia jumped across them like they were steps.
"Impressive, but there's no way that can make it all the way up there." Cletus said. All of them watched carefully as to what she might do next.
"Now, Rock Blast!" Gia called. Boldore started firing rocks straight up. Gia actually jumped on a rock and used it have herself be shot up there.
"No way! Even Ash wouldn't do something that crazy!" Davis said as they couldn't believe their eyes. Gia was shot in the air and grabbed on the ledge of the building. She was really strong with her pulling herself up.
"Hang on! I'm almost there!" Gia said as she moved her way towards him. It was like she wasn't afraid of the danger or anything. She made her way closer and closer and was able to reach the worker that needed help. She reached him just in time and helped pulled him up. "There we go. You would think as a construction worker, you would know how to be safe in places like this."
"Thank you." The construction worker said as he was grateful for the save and everyone cheered for what Gia did. There's no way anyone else would have had the guts or the courage to do what she just did.
"Unreal! I can't believe she was able to pull something like that off!" Cletus said.
"I've never seen anything like that before!" Terra said. Even Davis didn't know what to say about something like that. After Gia's heroic rescue, many were impressed and amazed with her. However, Officer Jenny had to do her own job and reprimand her for her actions.
"Gym Leader Gia, despite your heroic actions, they were very dangerous!" Officer Jenny said. "You keep putting yourself in these dangerous situations and could place others at risk, not to mention yourself! Leave these sort of things to professional rescuers!"
"But it's more fun my way. Not to mention it got the work done." Gia argued. As those two were going back and forth with their argument, Davis recognized the gym leader he is going to face.
"You have to admit that it was rather reckless and irresponsible of her, even if it was rather impressive." Cletus said.
"I guess living as a daring risk taker, daredevil, or whatever you want to call her as given her a lot of courage." Terra said. "I don't think anyone could have done what she just did. She might be a little insane for doing stuff like that, but she's incredible."
"That is one intense gym leader." Imperialdramon said. "I wonder what kind of battle we'll have with her."
"She's certainly unlike any other gym leader we've faced before, but that's what's going to make this exciting." Davis said as he couldn't wait. This is going to be one gym battle he's really going to enjoy.
After meeting with Gia, Davis can see that there's going to be one fierce battle up ahead. With Gia being such a daredevil, anything could happen in this battle. So, stay tuned to see what will happen next.
...
Later
Meanwhile, a mysterious figure was walking over to Hades' Entrance. It appeared to be a simple man wearing a simple suit. He stood right over it with his Cryogonal and was in deep thought about what it all means, as well as what is to come from it.
"So, this is where it is believed that the mighty Cerbmare might be laying dormant." The man said. "A legendary pokemon could be right underneath our feet, and it's possible that it might have been the one to create this. What do you think Cryogonal?"
"Cryogonal..." Cryogonal flew around the whole and seemed to be rather enjoying the sight it had.
"Yes. It is impressive." The man said. "A power that could change the way of the world. It should be a marvelous thing to hold and behold. Some might consider it a myth, a legend, and maybe nothing more than a story. However, all stories have a form of truth to them. I almost do not wish to disturb it."
"Cryogonal..."
"You're right." The man said as he sort of had a feeling as to what Cryogonal was saying. "We must complete our mission. Let's alert the rest of our team." He said, but it almost sounded like he wasn't looking forward to it. Who is this mysterious man, and what exactly is he after at the Hades' Entrance?
