Our heroes have arrived in Unus City. Normally, Davis and his friends would have gone straight to the gym so that Davis could battle Kaze for his sixth gym badge, but Professor Oak asked him to do something before that. That is why they are at Unus City Airport instead.

"The plane should have landed by now." Cletus said.

"Who is it that Professor Oak asked us to meet with again?" Terra questioned.

"I don't know. I never met them." Davis said. "However, he said they were good friends of Ash. They were like family to him. That's why Professor Oak thought we would be interested in meeting them."

"Though, you should have asked for a photo so we know who to look for." Imperialdramon said as they kept their eyes opened for who it was they were suppose to meet.

"Alola. I take it you must be Davis and his friends." Someone said when they walked up to them.

"Yeah. I'm Davis." He introduced. "Are you the guy Professor Oak asked us to meet?"

"That's me. It's nice to meet you. My name is Professor Kukui."

Through the water, forest, and up in the sky

In the fire, thunder, and right in your heart

There are so many, many, many to find

And I know I can do it

(I can do it)

I know I can catch them all-all-all

(Gotta catch'em all)

So let's go

(Come on)

Oh

Watch me, here I go

Pokemon, here I come

It's destiny calling

I'll give it my all

It's all I can do

(Davis' Voice) Unus Union: Greetings and Alola

"It's a pleasure." Professor Kuki said as he shook hands with Davis. "When I informed Professor Oak about taking a trip up here to Grecko, he told me about you. He also told me that you were good friends with Ash."

"That's right, and he told me you were kind of enough to let Ash stay with you while he was in Alola." Davis said.

"When Professor Oak asked us to meet with you, it was hard for us to say no." Imperialdramon claimed.

"Wow!" Professor Kuki said as his eye laid on Imperialdramon. "You must be Imperialdramon! Professor Oak told me how you are a really rare and special pokemon! This is like Hyper Beam experience!" He claimed as he was amazed with meeting Imperialdramon.

"Professor Kukui! Are these the nice people you said would be our guides?" All of them took a look and saw five others joining in.

"That's right, kids." Professor Kukui. "These people here will be the ones to show us around and give us a Slam time."

"I take it you all are the class that Professor Oak told us that would be accompanying Professor Kukui." Cletus said.

"That's right. These are my students from the Pokemon School in Alola." Professor Kukui said.

"Hi there. My name is Mallow."

"I'm Sophocles."

"My name is Lillie."

"I'm Lana."

"And my name is Kiawe."

"Hi. My name is Davis, and this is my partner: Imperialdramon."

"Hello."

"My name is Terra."

"And I'm Cletus."

"I heard all of you were all friends with Ash back when he was in Alola. This is going to be fun." Davis said as he's glad he gets to meet new people, especially ones that were good friends with Ash. Once they all got acquainted with each other, they all left the airport and went into town to get to know each other a little better and have a little fun. "So, what brings all of you to Grecko in the first place."

"We're here on a class trip." Mallow said.

"You see, I thought it would be good if they got to see what another region is like." Professor Kukui said. "While Alola is great, there are some pokemon that can't be found in Alola. Coming to another region is a great way for them all to learn about other pokemon and other regions."

"Yeah, like Imperialdramon here. I've never seen a pokemon like this one before, and it's able to talk?" Sophocles said.

"Uh... Yeah... I'm one of a kind." Imperialdramon said as a cover.

"Well, you guys are in for a show." Davis said. "Since you're going to be here for a while, you get to see me take on the gym here. That's why we came to Unus City, and why Professor Oak thought we should meet."

"A gym? As in a real gym battle? We learned about them when we took a trip to Kanto, but never got see what they're actually like." Kiawe said as he liked the sound of that. "That would be rather great to see. We don't have gyms in Alola. It would be great to see what a real gym battle is like."

"Davis, you're good friends with Ash as well." Mallow said. "He can be rather unpredictable, don't you think?"

"Maybe, but that's what makes him fun." Davis said. "It's from watching Ash that I became the trainer I am. Who knows, I might even surpass him one day." He joked, but Kiawe took that a little serious.

"What do you guys think?" Sophocles asked Cletus and Terra. "Ash can be a little passionate about pokemon and battling."

"Oh! Uh... Actually, I never had the pleasure of meeting him. I don't know what he's like." Cletus said.

"I don't even know who you're talking about." Terra said.

"Ash is a great trainer that loves pokemon and battling. It's like all he can think about. Wouldn't you say so, Snowy?" Lillie asked.

"Vul!" It was just then that Terra noticed Lillie's Vulpix and how different it looked.

"Oh! I didn't even notice your partner, Lillie. It's so cute." Terra said as she used her pokedex.

"Vulpix, Alola Form, the Fox Pokemon. An ice-type. It's breath can reach fifty-eight degrees below zero. It forms shards of ice from it's tail to keep itself cool."

"Alola Form? What does that mean?" Terra questioned.

"It means that what Vulpix look like in Alola." Cletus explained. "Some pokemon take on different forms and become different types to adapt to the climate and environment they live in. This Vulpix is an ice-type in Alola, but they are usually fire-types in other regions."

"Don't worry. There'll be plenty of time to learn about each other." Professor Kukui claimed. "By the way, was there anyone else at the airport?"

"Anyone else? Like who?" Davis questioned.

"I asked someone else to be here because I didn't know about you and your friends, Davis." Professor Kukui claimed, but Davis didn't know who he was talking about.

"Wait." Imperialdramon said as he suddenly stopped. "Davis, take a look at who else is here! I don't believe it!" They all looked ahead with Davis and his friends surprised as to who else was here. Surrounded by a bunch of kids and pokemon was none other than Fauna herself.

"Yes. I can see you all love these pokemon." Fauna said.

"Fauna! Over here!" Davis called and got her attention.

"Davis!" Fauna said as she was surprised to see them. She went right over to talk to them. "What are the odds of running into you here?"

"I'll say." Davis said. "We were in the middle of playing guides to these new friends of ours. What brings you to Unus City?"

"I know why. I wasn't sure you were going to make it." Professor Kukui said.

"Hello, Kukui. It's good to see you again." Fauna said. Davis and the others couldn't believe that they actually knew each other.

...

Later

All of them found a nice spot for lunch with Fauna joining them. It was surprising to know that Kukui and Fauna actually knew each other. Letting all of their pokemon join in for such a thing.

"With your busy schedule, I wasn't sure you were going to meet with me and my students." Professor Kukui said. "I greatly appreciate you coming all the way out here for that."

"Anything for an old friend." Fauna said.

"How do you two know each other?" Terra questioned.

"Kukui and I met back when he and I were young trainers ourselves and doing some traveling." Fauna said. "We became rather good friends. Not only are you a professor and a teacher, but I also heard that you are married now with a child."

"Sure am." Kukui said as he pulled out a photo of his family. "That's my wife, Burnet, with our son, Lei."

"How lovely." Fauna said.

"Although, I'm surprised you lot already know Fauna personally. I know she's the champion, but I didn't think you guys would actually know her." Kukui said.

"We've only met her the one time, but it was still great." Terra said.

"Champion... Does that mean that Fauna here is the most powerful trainer in all of Grecko?" Kiawe questioned.

"That's right." Professor Kukui claimed. "In other regions, they have a group called the Elite Four. They're the four strongest trainers in the entire region, similar to the Kahuna back in Alola. The one ranked above them is the champion, but if you want a shot to become the champion yourself, you have to defeat all four members of the Elite Four first. The only way to take on the Elite Four is to win the Pokemon League."

"That's similar to what Ash did. Ash became Alola's first champion, and he did that from battling all four of the kahunas and winning the first ever Pokemon League we had." Lana claimed.

"Yes. It's

"I might be as you say, but I don't really see myself as that." Fauna said. "I'm really just another trainer that loves pokemon. Speaking of which, I'm amazed by all of your pokemon." She said as she looked at all of them. "I can tell that they're all loved and cared for greatly. You all clearly hold strong bonds with all of your pokemon."

"That's so nice. I do love that we got to see all of these amazing pokemon that we don't have in Alola." Lillie said.

"Yeah. I really love the water-types, such as Slotter and Polear." Lana said. "Terra, I also really love your Slowpoke. It's so cute."

"You think my Slowpoke is cute?" Terra questioned as she got a look at her own pokemon, but she wasn't really feeling it with that look it kept giving. "I don't know about that. It looks more dopey than cute."

"And they're well taken care of." Kiawe said. "In fact, why don't I show you with a battle?"

"Kiawe, you want to battle Fauna?!" Mallow said.

"Oh no. the one I want to battle is Davis." Kiawe said.

You want to battle me?" Davis said.

"When Ash lived in Alola, I was his rival, and I still am. If you're going to say you'll surpass Ash, I need to see if you really have what it takes." Kiawe claimed. "I need to see if you can really challenge him, and mark my words that I will not be defeated so easily. I'm burning with a fire of an Inferno Overdrive!" He claimed as he was getting really fired up.

"I don't know what that last part means, but you're being a little dramatic." Davis said. "Still, I'll take you on. I want to see what your Alola pokemon can do." Davis accepted the challenge, so they all moved out to a place to have the battle. "Imperialdramon, let's show this guy that we always mean business."

"Gladly." Imperialdramon said as he popped his knuckles.

"Turtonator, let's go!" Kiawe called as he chose his pokemon.

"Turtonator!"

"Turtonator?" Davis questioned as used his pokedex.

"Turtonator, the Blast Turtle Pokemon. A fire and dragon-type. It's back is covered in an explosive substance. Touching the stones on it's back will cause them to detonate."

"Sounds like one intense pokemon. Just how we like our opponents." Davis said. "Since it's a dragon-type, let's blast them with Dragon Pulse!" Davis called.

"Turtonator, Flamethrower!" Kiawe called. The two of them used their attacks and they ended up colliding in a fierce explosion. "Now use Dragon Tail!" Turtonator surprised them by moving pretty well and smashed it's dragon powered tail right against Imperialdramon.

"That thing is light on it's feet." Davis said. "Imperialdramon, let's use Brick Break!" Imperialdramon balanced himself up by and flying up in the air. Then, he came straight down for his attack.

"Now!" Kiawe called. Turtonator turned his back to them and caused Imperialdramon to touch the spikes. When that happened, they exploded upon contact.

"Yikes! So that's what the pokedex meant!" Davis said.

"Understand that I won't let you challenge Ash if you can't put up a real battle with him." Kiawe said. "If you intend to battle with Ash, you have to burn with the same blazing passion! The burning fiery spirit that you find in Wela Volcano!" He shouted as he was getting fired up once again.

"You're such a drama queen." Davis said.

"Tell me what you think of this!" Kiawe said as he held out a Z-crystal. Davis and Imperialdramon remembered that and braced themselves. "The zenith of my mind, spirit, and body, like the great mountain of Akala, become a raging fire and burn!" Energy traveled from Kiawe to Turtonator in perfect sync with his firepower greatly heightened. "Inferno Overdrive!" A great fireball was formed with it launched right at Imperialdramon. He got caught up in it with a fierce explosion going off.

"What was that?!" Terra said as she endured the shockwaves.

"A Z-move! They're powerful attacks that use a tremendous amount of power!" Kukui claimed. Kiawe thought this battle was over at that.

"Not bad. We like it when the heat is turned up." The smoke cleared away and showed that Imperialdramon was still standing.

"What?!" Kiawe said as he and others were surprised to see him still standing. "How?!"

"What can I say? We like our bathwater hot." Imperialdramon said.

"Not the first time we've dealt with something like before." Davis said. "Let's do this, Imperialdramon! Imperial Flight!" Imperialdramon gathered his dragon power and took off like a rocket. Imperialdramon smashed his fist right against Turtonator and caused Turtonator to roll against the ground until it crashed behind Kiawe and was knocked right out of the battle.

"That looks like that's done." Cletus said.

"Wow! He beat Kiawe!" Mallow said.

"That Imperialdramon is incredibly powerful. It took that Inferno Overdrive like it was nothing." Sophocles claimed.

"Turtonator, return." Kiawe said as he had Imperialdramon come back. "Okay, I admit that you're the real deal. You've got some skill and power, Davis."

"Thanks, and we're not done showing you." Davis said. "You said you want to see what a gym battle is really like? Well, I'll gladly show you when I take on Kaze, the gym leader here." Kiawe certainly liked the sound of that. This trip to Grecko is turning out to be something incredible.

Having meet Ash's Alola family, Davis welcomes them to witness his gym battle so they can see what a real gym battle is like. This adventure in Unus City isn't over, so don't miss any of it.
