Our heroes are continuing on their journey towards Nyxer City so that Davis can have his seventh badge. As they are on their journey, they are about to have another encounter with a pokemon, and learn of a new evolution.

Davis and the others were on their way, but something happened. Something small came down from above and landed right on Davis' head. Then, just jumped right off with Davis falling to the ground.

"Hey! My head isn't a trampoline!" Davis complained. All of them looked at what jumped on Davis' head. It appeared to be another pokemon, but it was as small as a child. What's more is that it was purple with a black piece placed where it's nose should be. He was also wearing black pants.

"Juntae."

"Who is that little guy?" Terra said as she pulled out her pokedex.

"Juntae, the Prodigy Pokemon. A fighting-type. Juntae might be young and small, but are quite skillful in the ways of karate."

"I don't know why you jumped on my head like that, but that was a big mistake." Davis said as he reached for a pokeball and got ready for a battle.

"Hold it!" Just then, someone jumped down from out of nowhere and got in the way. "I shall be the one to catch that Juntae!" Who could this guy be? Whoever he is, Juntae wasn't interested and just took off. "Juntae, wait!"

"Hey! Don't get in the way! That Juntae is asking for a battle with me!" Davis said.

"I think not." The guy turned to them, but they all recognized him. "Davis?!"

"Daniel!" Davis said as he and the others were surprised to see an old face.

Through the water, forest, and up in the sky

(Davis' voice): Fight With Might

They weren't expecting to run into Daniel. Daniel was a student they met at a place called the Kendomy Dojo. He was hoping to one day please his sensei and become the kind of trainer his sensei could be proud of. This was the first time they were seeing him since then.

"It's been far too long. It's good to see you all again." Daniel said.

"I'll say. The last time we saw you was at the Kendomy Dojo. What are you doing all the way out here?" Cletus asked.

"Continuing my training. Trying to get myself to learn and grow as a person." Daniel said.

"How so, and what does that Juntae have to do with it?" Terra questioned.

"After you left, I learned from my mistakes and have been improving." Daniel said. "Sensei Chun is pleased with my progress, but I have been doing some thinking. I wish to try and spread my wings and try to learn other styles that could help me improve. I thought finding a brand new pokemon could help me improve and create my own style, help me broaden my horizons."

"I think I get it." Cletus said. "You wish to expand yourself and your style by finding a new pokemon. That's why you wish to catch that Juntae."

"Correct. When I saw a Juntae, I knew it would be the perfect pokemon for me." Daniel claimed. "They are fighters like me, and I have always admired their evolve forms."

"Who did they evolve into?" Davis questioned.

"Juntae have a branch evolution." Daniel said. "They evolve depending on the condition they are in. If their power is greater than their speed, they evolve into Throh. If their speed is greater than their power, they evolve into Sawk."

"Wow! They can evolve into Sawk or into Throh?!" Imperialdramon said as he didn't know about that.

"Either one of those pokemon would be great for me to have. That is why I am going to be the one to catch this Juntae." Daniel said. "I'm sorry, Davis, but I must do this and ask that you stand down. Let me catch this pokemon."

"No worries. I already got a Sawk, and I don't really want to have the same pokemon." Davis said as he had no problem with it. "I would have just wanted to want it. You really need it to make yourself better or whatever, go for it."

"Thank you." Daniel said as he appreciated that. "Mendokin, let's go!" He called out his partner.

"Mendokin!" His pokemon looked like the size of a young teenager in kendo gear. You were able to see the red skin under the helmet with fierce yellow eyes and had hair coming out from the back.

"Mendokin?" Davis questioned as he knew who that might be, but still used his pokedex.

"Mendokin, the Kendo Pokemon. A fighting-type, and the evolve form of Kendomy. Mendokin's name is said to have originated from a mantra that is suppose to increase strength, keen sight, and intellect in battle."

"No way! Your Kendomy managed to evolve!" Terra said.

"I told you that we've been training and improving." Daniel claimed. "Mendokin, let's get ourselves a Juntae!" They both cheered on that as they were ready to go.

Juntae

As for Juntae himself, Juntae was just helping itself to some apples. It sat on top of a tree and just simply enjoyed it.

"Juntae! There you are!" Juntae looked down and spotted Daniel and the others. They were able to find it with Daniel and Mendokin having it's sight set on catching Juntae. "I challenge you, and I will win to catch you! Mendokin, attack with Knock Off! Size Juntae up!"

"Mendokin!" Mendokin jumped right at Juntae with dark power flowing through its kendo sword. Juntae countered as it jumped up higher than Mendokin. It came down and used Karate Chop right on Mendokin's head and knocked it to the ground.

"Wow. It's pretty tough for a small little guy." Imperialdramon said. Juntae landed down and dared them to come at it again.

"Mendokin, keep up with the attacks!" Daniel called. "Attack with Fury Attack!" Mendokin charged right at Juntae and tried to attack. However, Juntae had its eyes glowed and was avoiding every attack that Mendokin threw at it.

"How is Juntae avoiding every one of Mendokin's attacks?!" Terra said.

"It's using Detect. That attack is going to make it difficult to land an attack as long as it knows that." Cletus said. Mendokin continued to attack, but none of the attacks were working. Then, Juntae used Low Kick and kicked Mendokin's leg. It was so painful that Mendokin had to hop around in pain. After that, Juntae used Karate Chop once again and nailed Mendokin on the head.

"Fight back, Mendokin!" Daniel called. "Attack with Focus Blast!" Mendokin gathered power at the tip of it's kendo stick and formed a large orb. However, when Mendokin tossed the attack, Juntae used Detect once again and avoided the attack.

"That little guy sure knows how to move." Davis said.

"I can see why it's called the Prodigy Pokemon." Cletus said.

"Attack again! Try Fury Attack!" Daniel called. Mendokin attempted to attack, but Juntae attacked first. It used Karate Chop once again and that third attack knocked Mendokin out. "No! Mendokin!" Juntae was rather satisfied with the end of this battle and just took off. "No! I failed!" He said like he had great shame.

"Calm down. It's not that big of a deal." Davis said. "Let's get Mendokin fixed up and you can just try again."

"Davis has the right idea. Let's make sure Mendokin is okay for next time." Cletus said. Daniel liked the sound of that.

Later

Thanks to some help form Cletus, Mendokin was well taken care of. Mendokin's gear might have protected it, but Mendokin still sustain some damage.

"Is Mendokin going to be okay?" Daniel questioned.

"I believe so, but let's take it easy for a while." Cletus said. Mendokin liked the sound of that and just kept resting. "While Mendokin rests, let's talk about what you're going to do if you're serious about catching that Juntae. It's obvious it's not going to be as easy as it seems to catch it."

"No kidding. They say big things come in little packages." Davis said. "That Juntae knows how to battle."

"Maybe, but I will not give up. A Juntae would be the perfect pokemon for me. I must simply have it." Daniel said.

"Yeah, but how are you going to do that?" Terra questioned. That's the part Daniel is having a hard time figuring out.

"You and Mendokin certainly have improved since the last time we saw you. You're stronger and faster than before." Cletus said. "In fact, I would have to say you would have caught Juntae if it wasn't for Detect."

"You really think that one attack made all the difference?" Davis questioned.

"I do. With Detect, Juntae will be able to tell where and when an attack is coming." Cletus said. "I remember when we last visited your dojo, Chun told us that sometimes you need to wait for the opponent to attack and strike when they are most vulnerable. I'm sure you've been working on that, haven't you, Daniel?"

"Yeah, I have." Daniel said. "Our plan was to get a measure on Juntae's power, have Juntae and Mendokin size each other up. Once we have a better idea of Juntae's power, we could counter when it attacks."

"But the problem is Detect is going to make that difficult." Cletus said. "You need a way to counter that."

"But how when Detect is designed to help evade attacks?" Terra questioned.

"Well... Mendokin and I have been working on this one attack that might be able to help with that." Daniel admitted. "We haven't perfected it yet."

"You have a move that could beat Detect? Well, let's get that attack working so that you can catch Juntae." Davis said as it sounds like they have a plan now.

"Mendokin!" All of them looked and saw that Mendokin seemed ready to go despite how it needed rest.

"Mendokin, you need to get some rest and recover first." Daniel said, but Mendokin felt plenty rested. It wants this just as much as Daniel does. That's why it took it's kendo sword and raised it up so that it could do battle once again. Mendokin wants this and Daniel is glad to have a loyal pokemon to fight just as hard as he would. After that, they all worked as hard as they could to get this attack perfected so that Daniel can finally get the right pokemon for him.

...

Juntae

Juntae was just simply relaxing against a tree. It didn't really do anything, but it's instincts kicked in. It opened its eyes and saw that Daniel and Mendokin came back for another round.

"Juntae, I challenge you once again, and I will capture you this time." Daniel claimed. "Mendokin, show Juntae we mean business by using Knock Off!" Mendokin charged right at Juntae and readied itself to attack once again. Mendokin swung down, but Juntae was able to move out of the way and tried attacking with Karate Chop. "Here it comes with Karate Chop! Dodge it!" Mendokin jumped out of the way to avoid the attack with the two of them having a standoff. "We won't make the same mistake as before. Fury Attack!" Mendokin went at Juntae once again, but Juntae activated Detect and was avoiding attacks again.

"Now, Daniel!" Davis called.

"It's time to use the attack we practiced! Feint!" Daniel called. Mendokin had its kendo stick glow a bright orange. Once it did that, Mendokin spun around. Juntae couldn't avoid the attack. Mendokin smashed its weapon against Juntae and hit rather hard. Juntae was sent flying and smashed against a tree.

"It worked!" Terra said.

"You did great!" Daniel claimed. Feint seemed to have worked, but Juntae wasn't defeated. It got back up and kept trying to attack with Karate Chop.

"Dodge, and then strike with Fury Attack!" Daniel called. Mendokin stepped to the side and avoided Juntae's attacks. After that, it attacked in the spots that were the most vulnerable. All of it's attacks connected and were dealing some damage. "Now, Feint once more!" Mendokin used the same attack. Juntae attempted to use Detect, but it only failed and Juntae got struck again from the attack. Juntae got hit rather hard and took some damage.

"Now's your chance!" Davis said.

"Right! Go!" Daniel called as he threw a pokeball. The ball tapped against Juntae and he went inside. All of them waited to see what the result would be, and it ended up dinging. That means that Juntae was caught. "Yes! I did it! I caught a Juntae!" Daniel did it. He managed to catch the pokemon that was right for him.

Later

"Thank you for your help. With Juntae and Mendokin, I can't wait to see what I can accomplish." Daniel said as they were getting ready to part ways.

"We're glad we were able to help." Cletus said.

"So, are you going to make your Juntae a Sawk or a Throh?" Terra questioned.

"That isn't really for me to decide. I'm going to let nature take it's course. All I can do is train Juntae well and see just what kind of style of battling we can make together." Daniel said. "I'm glad I got to see you once again."

"Same here. Take care." Davis said with all of them parting ways.

After meeting up with an old friend, they see a dedicated fighter and battler that sought out a goal to become even stronger. By fighting as hard as he could, Daniel managed to capture a brand new pokemon. Our heroes will take that dedication with them as they continue on with their journey.
