"There it is! We made it!" Cletus called as they all stood at the top of a hill and could see their destination was just ahead of them now.

Right before our heroes is Nyxer City, and that means that Davis is going to have his seventh gym battle.

"Yes! I can already picture that seventh badge in my hands!" Davis said.

"How? We don't know what it looks like?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"This is so exciting! I can't believe we might get to meet Vanica!" Terra said as she seemed pretty excited about this.

"Vanica?" Davis questioned.

"Check it out." Terra said as she pulled out a magazine that had the photo of a woman with a sparkling purple dress with no sleeves and with her dark brown hair tied back. She also carried a fan with feathers on it that matched her dress. "She's the Nyxer City Gym Leader. She's famous because she's also one of the best fashion designers in the entire region. Her specialty is with dark-type pokemon, and her motto is to bring out the beauty of the dark."

"Her specialty is with dark-type pokemon. That's good to know for your battle." Cletus said.

"So that's the gym leader..." Davis said as he could now have a face to his next opponent.

(Davis' voice): What Makes the Night Bright

Being in Nyxer City, of course Davis wanted to go straight to the gym. However, they weren't expecting the place to be packed with workers being so busy. It seemed like they were getting ready for something, but they couldn't tell what it was.

"I know she's a fashion designer, but is Vanica really this busy?" Cletus questioned.

"I don't care how busy she is. She better at least agree to have a battle with me." Davis said.

"What?! Vanica can't have any gym battles today?!" All of them looked to the front desk and saw a familiar face discussing with one of the employees.

"I'm afraid so. I'm sorry, but she's too occupied for the rest of the day."

"Oh man. After I came all this way." Davis and the others got a good look at who the challenger was and they couldn't believe that it was really him.

"Adrien?!" Davis called. It really was him. It was none other than Adrien, who Davis and his friends have met in Bacu City. After they left Bacu City, they weren't sure they were ever really going to see him again after what happened with Adrien's father.

"Davis! It's so great to see you again!" Adrien said.

"I can't believe you're really here!" Davis said. "What are you doing all the way out here?"

"I took your advice. I decided to stop letting my father run my life and go on the journey that I want." Adrien said. That sounded great to them. "I've been traveling around and challenging other gyms and catching other pokemon. I was hoping to challenge the Nyxer Gym, but they say Vanica is too busy and can't have any gym battles."

"Wait. Is that true? Vanica can't have any gym battles today?" Davis questioned.

"I'm afraid so. Today is Nyxer City's annual Moon Festival. Since Miss Vanica is the gym leader, she's going to play a key part, so I'm afraid she has no time for gym battles today."

"That's too bad, but I can't believe we got to see you again, Adrien." Terra said spotting the silver lining in this. "Since you guys can't have a gym battle, let's go the Pokemon Center and catch up." Adrien agreed to that. They all left since there wasn't much more they could do, but someone did spot her and caught her interest.

The Pokemon Center

All of them left the gym since there wasn't much more they could do. When they all went to the Pokemon Center, Cletus managed to pull something together for them and all of their pokemon, including Adrien's Panthark. As they were all eating, Adrien told them all about what he's been up to since they last saw him.

"You ran away from home? Your father must be so mad at you." Terra said.

"Maybe, but I couldn't live that sheltered life anymore." Adrien said. "So, I decided to leave. When this journey of mine is over, I'll face him, but I'm tired of him trying to control my life. Ever since I left, I've been challenging gyms like you, Davis. You inspired me to do this."

"Go on. You're making me blush." Davis said as his ego was really showing.

"Great. It's all going to his head." Terra said with annoyance.

"Anyway, I'm curious about this Moon Festival. What is that all about?" Cletus questioned as it seemed like a big deal.

"Nyxer City is known for having beautiful night skies." Adrien said. "They say the Moon Festival is to honor the moon goddess for bringing light to the dark."

"It can also be a great opportunity for dark-type pokemon to really show their inner and outer beauty." All of them looked up and were met with Vanica herself.

"It's Vanica!" Terra said with excitement.

"Wow! You're really here!" Davis said.

"Hello there. It's nice to meet you, especially you, Adrien." Vanica said.

"You know me?" Adrien said.

"Not officially, but I've seen your work. I'm actually quite acquainted with your father." Vanica said. "I was surprised to see you at my gym, and that you were looking to have a gym battle with me. Although, I'm sorry that I'm not able to have any gym battles today."

"I know. You're busy with the Moon Festival." Adrien said. "These are my friends here. Davis here was hoping to challenge your gym as well." He introduced with Davis getting to meet her.

"I see." Vanica said. "Well, I might be able to battle today, but I should once the Moon Festival is over. Now, you're all curious about the Moon Festival is about. I be happy to show you around." She took a look at their pokemon and took notice of Davis' Tazzvil and Adrien's Panthark. "I can see that you're dark-type pokemon are well taken care of." She claimed as she petted them, then got a look at Tazzvil. "Oh my. This Tazzvil is quite a strong one. I say this could be an amazing opportunity for it to evolve."

"Evolve?!" Davis said as that caught his attention. "Are you saying my Tazzvil could evolve already?! I haven't had Tazzvil for very long!"

"You must of caught it when it was already quite strong, and this Tazzvil might be close to evolving." Vanica said. "A Tazzvil can only evolve when it's night while the moon is out." Vanica claimed. Davis couldn't believe it. His Tazzvil could evolve any moment now. He can't miss an opportunity like that.

The Moon Festival

Vanica showed all of them around and saw the Moon Festival was already underway. Wanting to make sure Tazzvil gets the opportunity to evolve, Davis kept Tazzvil out as they all looked around. There were stands for snacks, games, and anything else you would find at a festival.

"The Moon Festival has been going on for many years. It even goes back to when I was just a little girl." Vanica said. "The story goes that this land was just a wasteland where hardly anyone lived. Then, a priest came and asked for the divine moon to aid in granting life."

"How did the moon help in bring life here?" Cletus asked.

"The answer is right there." Vanica said as she showed special white flowers that had a yellow crescent in the petals. "Those are called lunar flowers. Their special flowers that only bloom at night with the full moon. They were the first things to bloom here, and that was the start of life here. At least that's how the story goes. I do love this city. That story and everything about it helps me find inspiration for my clothing lines. That's why I modeled my style after dark-type pokemon. Dark-type pokemon might seem scary, but they make me think of the night sky, and there's always a little light in the dark of night."

"Vanica, can I ask you something?" Terra asked. "We were told that you play an important part since you're the gym leader, but what would that be?"

"Well, I get to bestow the moon a very special crystal." Vanica said. "Traditionally, we hold out a special glass crystal when the moon is at it's highest points. The idea is to spread the moonlight to bestow the moon's blessing upon all, so that they may find joy and bliss just as we have."

"That sounds amazing. I want to see it." Adrien said.

"As the gym leader, it is my responsibility to bestow the crystal." Vanica said. "I've also been working on a special outfit for such an occasion, but when I spotted Adrien, I just simply had to come meet him and the rest of you."

"Really? Me?" Adrien questioned.

"That's right. As I said, your father and I are closely acquainted with each other." Vanica said. "I feel that you are the light in his darkness." Adrien is the light in his father's darkness? With how he is towards his son, Adrien never thought of it like that before. "Anyway, would you all like to see what I have been working on?"

"Can we?! Pretty please! I would love to see your actual work!" Terra said as she got so excited.

...

Vanica's Office

Vanica brought all of them to her office so that she can show them what she has been working on. While they were there, they also got to see samples of her other clothes. They were all incredible. They all gave off the feeling like they were as mysterious as the night sky, but also beautiful at the same time. Even the guys thought they were incredible.

"Beautiful!" Adrien said as they all loved what they were seeing.

"Thank you. Here's what I've been working on." Vanica said. She showed her latest piece that looked like a white robe with large sleeves and a blue bottom half. It was more like a kimono. To top it off, it came with this headpiece that had a series of gold prongs with a crescent moon sitting right on it. It was so elegant, classy, and beautiful. They were all amazed with it.

"It's gorgeous." Terra said. All of them loved what they were seeing. However, Tazzvil couldn't hide how it was feeling. It tried to get a closer look at it and reached up for it, but Tazzvil's claws were not good for the outfit.

"Tazzvil, no!" Davis called. All of them couldn't believe what they were seeing with what Tazzvil was doing. Davis grabbed a hold of Tazzvil and stopped it from causing so much damage, but some damage was already done. There were now tears in the outfit and it was now ruined. "Oh no! Tazzvil, look at what you did!"

"Rorw..." Tazzvil didn't realize the damage it caused until it actually saw it. It felt so ashamed at what it just did. How could it allow itself to do something like this.

"Vanica, I am so sorry." Davis said. Vanica took a look at the damage as she guided her hand through it. It's such an important piece, but it might be ruined now. "Isn't there someway we can fix it?"

"There must be." Imperialdramon said.

"It's fine." Vanica said as she didn't seem mad at all.

"You're not mad?" Adrien questioned.

"It might seemed ruined, but artists such as myself can't let these setbacks get to us." Vanica said. "I'm sure there's a way to fix this. What fascinates me is the fact that you're Tazzvil got like that. Clearly, it got excited at what it saw, and now it feels guilty. It's clear that your Tazzvil has great heart, at least to me."

"Uh... Thank you?" Davis said.

"Don't worry. I'm sure I can get this fixed in time." Vanica said. "In the meantime, go on and enjoy the festival. Everything is under control." Davis and Tazzvil did feel bad that something like this happened, but Vanica wasn't mad. All they could really do was just trust that Vanica could handle this.

The Moon Festival

Since Vanica didn't need them anymore, all of them tried to enjoy what the Moon Festival had to offer. It was still a great festival, and they were all having a good time with all of it. However, Tazzvil still felt rather guilty about what it did earlier. Tazzvil thought the outfit was so beautiful that it just couldn't help itself. Tazzvil continued on with that guilt until it got dark and was almost time for the crystal and the moon

"Tazzvil, don't worry. I'm sure everything will be fine." Davis said. "Vanica said that she had it all under control."

"She said it all would be fine. I guess we'll find out soon enough." Adrien claimed. "It's almost time." Everyone gathered for this event. All of them watched and made way as Vanica walked over to a pedestal for her to stand on. They were all curious as to what she did. Vanica changed the long blue dress into a skirt with a piece of cloth trailing behind her. She also modified the long sleeves to be tighter with little blue stars stitched in.

"Amazing! It looks even better than it did earlier!" Terra said.

"She really is an amazing fashion designer." Cletus said. Tazzvil certainly enjoyed see it. It was like they were seeing an actual moon goddess. Vanica made it to the pedestal and stood on it. Then, a perfectly spherical glass crystal was brought to her. She reached down to have the blessings bestowed on others.

"Tonight we honor the moon." Vanica said. "The moon is the light in the darkness. Let this remind us all that there will always be light in the darkness. The moon possess great symbolism and power through many cultures. May it bestowed upon blessings to all and serve as a reminder to all of us that no matter how dark things are, there will always be light. Let this be known that even though the darkness and night might be concealing, it can beautiful." She raised the crystal above her head and it was in perfect alignment with the moon. The moonlight shined through the crystal and was amplified. The moonlight shined right through the crystal to bestow the moon's blessing on all. It was simply beautiful, enchanting, and astounding. It really was light in the darkness.

"Incredible. Don't you think, Tazzvil?" Davis questioned. Tazzvil certainly thought so. Tazzvil could actually feel the moon empowering Tazzvil. Tazzvil couldn't stop itself from howling right at the moon. "Boy, you really can't control yourself." They all thought Tazzvil was just acting out, but Tazzvil then began to glow. Tazzvil was beginning to evolve. Tazzvil grew much taller, standing on two legs until it was taller than Davis. It now had lean arms and legs with a broad chest and a bushy tail, but it's head remained the same.

"Rowwwwwooooo!"

"Vanica was right! Tazzvil evolved into a Werevil!" Adrien said.

"Werevil?!" Davis said with him using his pokedex on his new pokemon.

"Werevil, the Wolf Beast Pokemon. A dark-type, and the evolve form of Tazzvil. Every night when there's a full moon, Werevil will howl at it for it feels a strong connection."

"This is incredible! Tazzvil really did evolve!" Terra said.

"If I didn't know any better, I would have to say that Tazzvil was empowered by the moon itself." Cletus said. This was incredible. Vanica could see it happen. Davis looked towards Vanica and could see that she isn't just some other fashion designer. She sees things in ways others wouldn't. Davis is going to have one heck of a gym battle, and he'll have to be ready.

Now that Davis has met with Vanica, he sees that he might have a tough gym battle ahead of him. Perhaps the moon has blessed him and he will win his seventh badge. There's only one way to find out. Stay tuned.
