New York was famous for being the city that never sleeps. And nowadays, it's in more ways than one. For there was crime running rampant and harsh weather nearly every other day. The Police can barely help those in need and put away others who threaten the lives of innocent. But there were some heroes who tended to help out, taking matters and the law into their hands. They've gained the respect of the city...all except one.

Far beneath the city, there was a secret subterranean extension of New York's D-line train under Pershing Square, the original Roosevelt Train Station. It was used by the President himself, whenever he needed to get away from the Public eye. Some years later, a brilliant scientist discovered the old station and renovated it with a secret lab in an abandoned subway car. And sometime after that, his son followed suit.

Peter Parker, a brilliant young mind, lost everyone who he considered family. His parents at such an early age, his Aunt and Uncle about a year back. He was put into foster care before he came across a large sum of money belonging to his family. With it, he was able to rebuild his life and a whole more as the young man walked into his secret hideout, the very Train station his father rediscovered.

As he walks in, we hear a voice coming from the television.

TV: Police and emergency services are urging New York residents to stay off the roads and in their homes tonight in light of the severe storm warning.

For months, he's been making it into his lair, able to gain access to some high-tech equipment, older stuff belonging to his father, and newer stuff that he purchased with his newfound money. He had a supercomputer that he built himself, a workbench for all the gadgets he's made; someone was working over there. There was a wall that showed cases of criminal activity, a place for a few suits belonging to him. And that's what he was going to do right now as the TV continued to play on some other news stories.

Newscaster: And in other news, a young man who inherited a fortune from his family continues to invade answering questions about this, and seems to be laying low for an unknown period of time.

He knew that it was talking about him. He was the talk of the town, and even in school, all eyes were on him. Some had pity, some were impressed, others had envy and indifference towards him. His friends, the ones he's had for a long time, Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy, and Mary Jane Watson, tried to give them comfort and condolences for the pain he's suffered for a while, but he blocked them out. To them, he had become a shell of his formal self, but Peter believed that this was for the best as he started to put on the suit. All the while he hears another story, an interview with some of the police. His nightly activities didn't take long to get the attention of New York's finest.

Betty Brant: Lieutenant Stacy! Any comment on the rumor that it wasn't the cops who dealt with many rival gangs in the city? Some say they were found covered in webbing-

George Stacy: There is no such thing as a Spider-Man!

The Police wanted to prevent the web-slinging vigilante from getting more attention than he deserved from the press. They tried to get more questions, but Stacy blocked the cameras away. Aside from the News, the other thing he listens to is the radio, a police scanner attached to it. Even now, something is going on, and Peter's work was never down.

Police Dispatcher: (over radio) All units, all units. We have a crime in progress all around the city. Bank Robbery, Hostages taken, suspects spotted in action. Known associates of Big Man.

The Enforcers. Peter dealt with them every so often. This would be no different as he sets his arms into bracers and gloves, expecting to the wrists before securing a slick utility belt, securing it to the suit. He picks up small, circular, spider-shaped shurikens which he was able to fold the blades in before putting them into his belt. And lastly, he put on a mask, a cowl that covered his entire head, showing only a pair of white piercing eyes. On close inspection, the suit he wore was mostly black and grey with plated texture all around, shown to likely be bulletproof, yet slim enough to not hinder flexibility. It fitted Peter perfectly, as he walked over to a circular platform, looking up to see an equally shaped opening above him. It opened by itself, revealing that it was going outside, as the rain started to pour into the lair and down on Peter.

The person who was working at the gadget table stood up and walked over to see the young, costumed man before he took off. He too was a young man, a tad bit older than Peter, had dirty blonde hair and was wearing a blue hoodie over a grey shirt with an atom symbol on it, black jeans and sneakers, and a pair of glasses over his eyes.

His name was Oliver Osnick, a computer repairman by day, and a vigilante technician by night. He and Peter met a while back when Peter started funding this operation, and they shared common interests. They both shared a similar admiration towards renowned scientists who worked for the betterment of humanity. Oliver found that this life was fun, though he sometimes worries for the kid who he sees is about to take his leave.

Oliver: Peter, come on! You haven't even had a bite to eat!

Peter said nothing. He only stood straight and found himself heading upward by a high-powered air canon below his feet and through the opening directly above him. He was soon outside, high up in the air, unleashing a pair of under-arm webs that acted like a wingsuit before performing a kulbit maneuver and gliding in the air.

He was now the Infamous Spiderman. The Arachknight. Out on a night above the city where he makes it his personal mission to dispense justice, save lives, and give criminals something to fear. Deactivating the web wings, he zooms past buildings before shooting a line of webbing from his shootings located at his wrists. Swinging long and fast across the buildings, some would think that he moves much faster than the eye could see. The fact that he worked at night and the color scheme of his costume him virtually invisible to see. Few could be lucky enough to catch a short glimpse of him on stormy nights, whenever he is by a flash of lightning.

At this moment, Spiderman goes to see if he can do anything about the hostages and the Enforcers. If he were right, Ox, Montana, and Daniel Brito (aka Fancy Dan) would be there so he could wipe the floor with them again. Their boss, Frederick Foswell, the Big Man, is one of the more lowly crime bosses in the city. He wouldn't have his goons take hostages unless they were known associates of rivaling crime lords, and there were only that low lives like him fear the most.

Arriving at his destination, one of New York's largest hotels, that looked to have been semi destroyed, Spider-Man landed on top of the building and looked to see the entrance inside was ripped open.

Spider-Man: This isn't usually the Enforcerer's MO. I need to find what's going on.

Heading down into the building, the Arachknight found himself heading into a shotty penthouse that was partially destroyed...and on fire. Bodies littered the halls, all finely dressed men with faces of scum. Gang members and he recognized some of them belonging to Tombstone...and Old Man Silvermane. Why would they be here? Who else is involved? He soon heard some commotion, two more gangsters judging by their bad accents. Spider-Man followed the voices and listened closely.

"Big-Man don't got the right to do this! He's aligned with Fisk! He has to-"

"Things have changed, Ollie. Now, you don't have a chance to see your family next Thanksgiving."

"Screw you! I'll see you dead first, Mack."

Then, there was laughter before two men came around the corner, both dressed in different colors, one for Big Man, the other for the Kingpin, the biggest crime lord in the city, one of lawful evil. The one for Big Man had Kingpin's thug crawling up against a wall as he was ready to break his neck with the bat he was holding. The lights flickered in the room as Spider-Man walked right behind the thug, who was oblivious to the dark vigilante that was slowly coming up behind him.

"I'm gonna enjoy making you suffer, Ollie boy."

"You...W-W-What the hell is that?! Behind you!"

"Aw, come on! Do you really think I'd fall for-"

He paused the moment he heard breathing behind him and turned around to see the Spider-Man, making him panic as he quickly swung the bat in his hand.

"Aaaahhhh! What the hell!"

Spider-Man smashed the bat by blocking it with his arm, before grabbing the Big Man Thug by the neck and then slamming a right hook to his face. The other thug belonging to Fisk quickly crawled over to a lead pipe in an attempt to defend himself.

"Y-Y-You're not supposed to be real!"

That pipe was soon knocked away as well as Spider-Man soon had the goon in an armlock.

"Aaagghh! Don't hurt me! Please!"

Spider-Man: What's going on here? Sure doesn't seem like you're keeping hostages.

"N-No! You got it all wrong! We are the hostages! Big Man had his enforcers move in on us and some new guy! Called himself Mountain...something!"

Spider-Man: Where are they now?

That's when Spider-Man's enhanced senses made him hear something commotion down in the floors below. A rough voice was going on, saying "YOU GOT IT?!" along with painful screams and...crushing bones followed suit. Definitely worth checking out.

"S-S-So are you are gonna let me go, or-AAAAGGGGGHHH!"

Spider-Man broke his hand before knocking him out and going on his way. Using the elevator shaft, he headed to the level where he heard the screams and found the floor did have thugs of Kingpin, Silvermane, and Tombstone, all held hostage by goons belonging to Big Man. This doesn't make any sense; Fossil's main muscle were the the Enforcers, he didn't have this many men at his disposal. How could he have gotten this much power before? And where were those three scumbags?

Spider-Man: I'll make these men tell me where I can find the Enforcers.

The thugs were enjoying themselves, having other lowly gangsters at their mercy. There was a shift in power running through the city, and they wanted to be the ones on top of the world.

"Man, I never thought we'd get ourselves a job like this."

"Yeah, I mostly work with Tombstone on his Biker Drug Gangs. But when I was told that we'd be gettin' into real business, I just had to job in on the opportunity."

"Better than hanging out with Mr. Big Man and his three chumps that call themselves the Enforcerers. I mean, don't get me wrong; those guys are pretty tough, but they kid themselves on working for a guy who the Kingpin can literally crush with his own bare hands."

"Oh, didn't you hear? Fisk planned on buying out those three. Pretty soon, Fossil will be eating dirt before you even know it."

"Speaking of Big Guys, who was that giant hairy guy who was wrecking the place around here?"

"Oh, Marko? Yeah, you don't wanna mess with that guy. Let me tell ya-"

Their long conversation was cut short when something, or rather someone, jumped onto them at high speed before rushing over to the next guy in a blur, knocking him out before webbing him up and swinging him around, slamming into a few other goons before throwing him away. The captives saw this and decided to keep their heads down when they realized who exactly that was. Spider-Man was moving faster than the thugs could hit him, slamming his fists into their weak spots, twisting and snapping bones, and making sure that these guys would be in intensive treatment for at least a week.

The fight, if you can even call it that, more like a beatdown, lasted for about 5 minutes as Spider-Man came out of it without so much as a scratch. And now that that was done, he moved to one of the captives, who was terrified to having the web-slinging dark warrior standing over him.

"W-W-Wait! I didn't do anything to you!"

Spider-Man: Montana, Fancy Dan, and Ox. Where are they?!

"Dude, don't tell 'im!"

"We can't do that to Fossil!"

"They'll kill us if we spill!"

The beaten, frightened thug was torn, but seeing the Spider-Man glaring down on him made his decision.

"T-T-They betrayed Big Man for Fisk! They're up on the second tower, about to getaway and report to him! We were rounded up so that they could kill us! Y-Y-You don't wanna go over there!"

Spider-Man: I'll take my chances. You can take the night off.

Tossing the thug out of his way, the Web-Slinger went on his way to the next hall, where the building was starting to look like a wreck. The amount of damage that was around would make this place fall apart at the seams if someone broke another column or through another floor. But he headed through the bridge that connected the tower of the Hotels and then heard something...crashing...hard on the ground. This was followed by some more voices up ahead, one of them being the gruff voice he heard earlier, the other was more rash and angry.

"You idiot! I told you not to do it after you grabbed the memory card."

Gruff voice: You said you wanted it destroyed. So I smashed it.

"It had better be. Or the next thing that's smashed WILL BE YOUR FACE!"

He recognized the rash voice belonging to Frederick Foswell. The other one, not so much, as there was growling after that and footsteps subsiding. That growling voice definitely belonged to a beast of a brute. Spider-Man looked to see that it was a drone was destroyed and crashed onto the floor he was on. It may have been smashed beyond repair, but the memory card they were talking about was only barely intact. He pocketed it before moving on, web-slinging up to the top floor. Opening a hatch to the roof, the dark Web-Slinger looked down at the roof below the one he's on, having arrived just in time to see Mr. Big and his Enforcers getting on a helicopter, and taking off. That is when Spider-Man turned to see some more of his goons for hire escaping on another chopper, but one of them was bigger than the others.

Now he knew who the thug was talking about, and where the growling was coming from.

Michael Mark, aka, Man Mountain Marko, street tough turned Maggia brute working for Silvermane, one of the main rivals for Big. Why would he cover for his escape? He waved the pilot and stayed behind, so that he could get his chance at taking the Spider. Speaking of whom, he jumped down to meet Marko, who was facing away from him at the moment.

Man Mountain Marko: Thought I caught your sent.

Spider-Man: I know I caught yours.

That is when the super-strong brute ripped an AC Unit from the roof and threw it at Spider-Man, who dodged swiftly and acrobatically as a fight broke out between the two. Marko was tough, but not naturally at peak human condition, having had his physiology strengthened when he became part of the Maggia. Spider-Man may have had a run-in with him in the past, outside the costume, but this time, they were fighting for real. Fortunately for the Web-Slinger, Marko was a predictable hothead who charged in head first. He may have been a beast who showed no mercy, but so was the Spider as he dodged Marko's attack before jumping on him and getting him with a barrage of fast attacks with his fists.

It didn't effect Marko too much, however, being built like a tank, as this left Spider-Man to fall back when he quickly recovered and tried to smash him.

Man Mountain Marko: Grraagh! You're just...a little man! UGH!

And then he got webbing in his face. It left him distracted long enough for Spider-Man to try some more heavy attacks on him, landing hard punches and swinging kicks to the face as he pushed Marko back against a wall, grabbed him by the head, and slammed it down on the pavement. But this only seemed to piss Marko off even more as he went for another AC unit. With his bare hands, he managed to rip them off the roof without fail and flung them at Spider-Man, who dodged acrobatically with flips. Unfortunately, their crashing and the exposed wiring were enough to start a fire on the roof, which would get worse if Spider-Man didn't stop Marko from tearing up the place.

One of the choppers that had some of Big's men was circling back, flying low enough to drop off a few thugs to add more grease for Spider-Man's mill. He would have to deal with them on short notice while still focusing on Marko, who was about to throw another AC Unit. Acting quickly, Spider-Man decided to use something that no one would've expected; a razor-like, circular, spider-shaped projectile weapon that he pulled out so quickly and launched at the Unit in Marko's hands. It had just enough force to knock it out of the Man Mountain's Grip.

The pair of thugs that tried to get at Spider-Man were quickly knocked to the floor, dazed by one shot for each of them as Spider-Man saw an enraged Marko charging in once more, causing him to shoot another set of webs in the Man Mountain's face before delivering more heavy punches and kicks. One thug recovered and tried to attack from behind, but Spider-Man countered quickly and bashed him away. But Marko quickly ripped the webbing in his face and grabbed a hold of the Web-Slinger, throwing him to the ground then tried to throw himself onto him, ready to beat the Spider down to mystery mush. Spider-Man used his enhanced strength, however, to keep Marko from getting any closer with his legs before kicking in the chin, getting him away from him.

The fight continued, but Marko was slowing down while Spider-Man was almost through with him. Whatever thugs joined the fight, they were quickly smacked down by the Web-Slinger, who soon finished Marko and slammed him near the edge of the roof they were on. Marko would've gotten back up, had it not been for Spider-Man being on top of him, and slightly pushing him close to the over-hundred-foot drop below.

Spider-Man: Where was Mr. Big and his enforcers heading?

Man Mountain Marko: I ain't no rat to the bosses!"

That earned him another punch in the face, and inch closer to his doom.

Spider-Man: You want teeth, I want answers!"

Man Mountain Marko: Grrr...! Wait till the Maggia gets through with you! They'll have head on a pike soon enough!"

Spider-Man: I wouldn't bet on it!

And one last punch to finally knock Marko out cold before Spider-Man dragged him away from the edge of the roof. Just in time to have some company on him as a police squad came in to hold the Spider at gunpoint. The squad was led by Police Lieutenant, George Stacy, who had denied the existence of Spider-Man before, yet here he was as the Lieutenant kept his gun trained on him.

George Stacy: Freeze! Stay where you are!

There was the light that forced Spider-Man to shield his eyes as he quickly pressed a button on his right arm bracer. It was to signal something that he and Ollie managed to get in their spare time. And it was coming to pick him up as he took a few steps back while the police had him cornered at the edge. They were expecting him to jump and web-swing out of there, and had some snipers waiting for him.

"Not another step!"

George Stacy: We're taking you in!

Spider-Man: ...Not tonight.

And that's when Spider-Man jumped, but instead of web-swinging, the Police were caught off-guard when a giant aircraft of unknown design came hovering up with Spider-Man getting into the cockpit.

Oliver had some military connections were aerospace that allowed him too get his hands on a prototype stealth aircraft for Peter to use in his operations. Cost a fortune, but both of them were good on the money.

The cops could only watch in shock as Spider-Man had just flown away from them, out of all the things. Lieutenant Stacy was the most in shock as one of his men, Officer Chen, decided to walk over to him.

Chen: I guess this means there is such a thing as a Spider-Man, huh?

Still, George continued to stare off from what he had just scene. This was one of many times they came close to getting the Spider-Man, and it won't be last. There's no telling where the Arachknight would strike next...
