Missing Friends
Chapter 2:
Tank and Stephanie got back to Rangeman. "Okay, let's get Bobby to look you over," Tank told her.
"Tank, I am fine. I just want to find Ranger and Morelli," Stephanie told him.
"Little one, please, I promise we will find them, but we need to get you looked over right now. I promise you that after everyone regroups, we will look for them again. We will find them one way or the other," Tank told her.
"Little one, I know what you are thinking, and I don't think this has anything to do with us dating," Tank told her as they made their way to the medical level and Bobby.
"Hey there," Bobby said as Tank and Stephanie exited the elevator.
"Bobby, can you look Steph over, please," Tank asked him.
"Sure," Bobby said and gave Stephanie a quick physical. After it was done, Bobby asked them, "Any word on the boss or Morelli?"
"No, not yet. I will call Morelli's captain and let him know, and we will try again tomorrow. But for now, that is all we can do," Tank told him.m
"Well, Stephanie is fine, a little shaken, but other than that, in perfect health," Bobby said, watching as Tank and Stephanie returned to Tank's apartment.
Tank unlocked his Haywood apartment door, and Stephanie and Tank walked into his apartment.
"Pierre, I am worried. I have not seen Lula for two and a half weeks, and now Ranger and Morelli are gone. Something weird is going on here." Steph told him.
"I agree, but for now, I just want to keep you safe, and to do that, we need to be careful." Pierre walked up to Stephanie and gave her a deep kiss. She wrapped her arms around his thick neck.
"Pierre," Stephanie said. Then he picked her up, and they went to his king-size bed and made love.
After they were done, they fell asleep in each other's arms for the night.
The next morning, Stephanie felt her spidey sense start to go off again, and then Pierre and Stephanie heard her cell phone going off.
"Dad, what is wrong?" Steph asked in a tired voice.
"I am sorry to wake you, baby, but your mom is missing. She went grocery shopping yesterday and has not returned yet." Frank said over the phone.
"Seriously," Stephanie said as she sat upright in bed.
Tank heard her moving and looked at her,
"Your grandmother and I took the cab around, and we could not find her." Frank said out loud.'
"Okay, I am awake now," Stephanie said, adding, " Both Pierre and I will be on our way once we are dressed. Try to stay calm, Dad. We will be there soon. "
"Right now, we have a problem. Ranger, Morelli, and Lula are missing, and my mom is too. What is going on, Pierre," Stephanie asked him;
"I don't know, Stephanie, but we will figure this out. I promise you. But for now, let's get dressed, grab some breakfast, and then head to your parents' house," Pierre said, and they both got up and dressed.
After they dressed, Pierre went to his safe and opened it. He saw the small black box. "I have to keep little one safe, and desperate times call for desperate measures," Pierre said to himself.
Pierre closed the safe and returned to Stephanie, sitting at the table.
Pierre approached Stephanie and got down on one knee. "Stephanie, these past six months have been great for me. I love you, and I want you by my side forever. Will you marry me?" Pierre asked her as he opened the small black box.
Stephanie saw the blue diamond ring with a ct twist. It had a round diamond in the middle of the blue diamonds twisting around the bigger diamond and two small rows attached to it.
"It is gorgeous, Pierre; of course, I will marry you," Stephanie told him.
Pierre got up, put the ring on her engagement finger, and kissed her deeply. "Let me finish dressing, and then we can head to your parent's house," Pierre told her. Then he returned to the bedroom, put on a shirt, combat boots, and utility belt, got his phone, and dialed Lester.
"Hey, Tank, what is going on?" Lester said,
" Little one's mom is missing, and I need you to meet Stephanie and me downstairs," Tank said, then hung up.
Tank looked at Stephanie, "Little one, if you want, you can call your dad, and we can meet him at city hall. I want you married to me as soon as possible. We can do it at city hall today, and then we can go to your dad's place and talk to him about your mom," Tank told her gently.
"I would like that, Pierre. Let's do it." Stephanie got on her phone. "Dad, please meet Pierre and me at City Hall?" Stephanie asked him.
"Of course, baby girl. We will see you there," Frank said, then hung up.
