Chapter 14:
Stephanie spoke up, then, "Lester, do me a favor and get me the rap sheet for Sasha. Maybe Chris, if you read her rap sheet, you will believe what we have been telling you. A paper trail never lies." Stephanie told Chris.
A few minutes later, the rap sheet for Sasha Manoso was printed out.
Sasha Manoso:
Burglary
Fraud
Attempted Murder
Murder.
Stephanie read it and then handed it to Chris. He read it, and his mouth dropped open.
"Do you get it now, Chris? She is a bad cookie. She is using you and your dad. But the two of you are too blinded to see it. But Ranger can see it. He is trying to help you before it is too late." Stephanie said to him.
Stephanie then put a hand to her forehead.
"Steph," Lester said and then came running up to her.
Lester pulled out a chair, and Stephanie sat in it. Lester picked up his cell and then called Ranger and Bobby.
Both of them came running into the conference room three. "Babe,"
"We need to get her to the hospital," Bobby said to Ranger.
Lester called 911 for Stephanie. Ranger and Bobby went to the Emergency Department with Stephanie.
While Stephanie was being taken to the hospital, Chris called his mom and pop, "Hey, Momma, Stephanie is being taken to the hospital. She started to feel lightheaded and dizzy."
"We will meet you there," Anna said, then hung up.
"You did this, Tim. You and Chris, just because Helen Plum vetoed my vote, you started to hassle Stephanie and Carlos. Now, if she loses that baby, it is your fault, and I hope you are happy. Now move; we are going to the hospital." Anna yelled at her husband.
At the hospital,
The ambulance arrived, and Stephanie was placed in a room. "Mr. Manoso, please let us look at her. We will update you when we know what is going on, " one of the doctors told Carlos.
Carlos sat down in a chair and waited. He put his head in his hands. "I can't lose her; please don't let me lose her," he said and then started to cry. Before Anna went to be with Carlos, Tim and Chris looked at Carlos. Look at him. You two caused this. If he loses Stephanie, we will lose him. I want you both to think about that." Anna said and then stormed off to be with Carlos.
"Carlos," Anna said softly as she sat beside her son.
Tim and Chris looked at Carlos and Anna, who were trying to calm him down.
"Chris, your mom is right. We should not blame Stephanie for her mother's mistake," Tim said. It was then that they noticed Bobby and the Doctor coming out.
"Carlos," Bobby said. Ranger got up, "Bobby, what is going on?"
"Carlos, I am sorry, but Stephanie lost the baby. You both will be able to have children if you choose to. But Stephanie will be okay, and that is the important thing."
"Can I see her? You know how she hates anything with hospitals,"
"Yeah, you can. Right now, she is sleeping. Come on, Carlos. I will take you to her," Bobby said, and then Anna watched Bobby and Carlos walk to see Stephanie in an exam room.
Carlos saw Stephanie in a hospital gown, lying down in a bed with an IV in her arm. Carlos walked up to his baby and kissed her on her forehead. He then pulled up a chair, sat down, and took her hand.
"Please, Babe, wake up, come back to me," Carlos begged his wife.
About half an hour later, Stephanie started to moan.
"Babe,"
"Carlos, what happened?" Stephanie asked him
"I am so glad you are awake. Babe, I am sorry, but the baby is gone." Carlos told her softly.
"But the doctor says that once your body heals, we can try again. Just think of the fun we can have trying." Carlos said and smiled at his wife.
