Chapter 20:
Chris, Tim, and Sasha were in the Manosos's house when Chris received a phone call. "Right, I am on my way," Chris said, then hung up on the caller.
"I'm sorry, Momma, but I have to go. Something came up. Sasha, we have to leave now," Chris said as the two of them left the house.
"Anna, I am going to follow them. Something is not right," Tim said to his wife. Tim walked to his gun safe and put in the code. He took out the piece he used on the job and his badge, which he kept safe. It was a badge police officers used when they retired, but it still got the job done. He then got into his car and followed his son. He saw them go into an abandoned building. "Chris, what are you doing now?" Tim said to himself. He followed his son and daughter-in-law into the building and went to the bottom. Tim saw him then. Detective Joe Morelli is alive. "Unbelievable." Tim shook his head and went over to the man.
"Okay, Ranger, you've gotten old," Morelli said.
"I am not Ranger; I am his father, and I am getting you out of here," Tim told him. Then he used his handcuff keys and got Morelli's wrists free. The handcuffs fell from the chains on the wall and then fell free from the floor.
Tim Manoso then picked Morelli up, and the two of them made it out of the building and got into the car. Once they were away from the building, Tim picked up the phone and called Carlo's number.
"Pop, is everything alright?" Carlos asked.
"You were right, Carlos. Your brother is in some serious trouble. I found one of your friends. Can we come over? It is important," Tim asked his oldest boy.
"Yeah, pop come over," Carlos said as he looked at his wife and then at the adoption application. It was then that Steph's spidey sense started to go off.
"Batman, my spidey sense is going off," Stephanie told her husband.
About ten minutes later, Morelli and Tim Manoso approached Carlos's and Stephanie's home and rang the buzzer. Ranger looked at the Monitor, "Holly shit, babe, I know why your spidey sense was going off." Carlos said, and then Stephanie saw Joe Morelli alive with Tim Manoso.
"What in the ?" Stephanie said nothing. She watched as her husband, Carlo Manoso, went to the door and opened it.
"What in the?" Morelli said.
"Pop and Morelli, come in," Carlos said, and then Joe Morelli saw "Cupcake," Joe said as he walked up to Stephanie. Stephanie let out a deep breath and gave Joe a quick hug.
"I am confused," Joe said as he looked at Ranger and Stephanie.
"Ranger, why the hell did you kidnap me?" Joe snapped as he got in Ranger's face.
"That was not me. That was my twin brother, Chris," Ranger snapped at Morelli.
"You have a twin brother." Joe's mouth dropped.
"Yes, I do. He is six minutes younger than me, and he has been causing me trouble from starting the day I married Babe,"
"Cupcake, did you marry Ranger?" Joe asked her.
"Yes, Joe, I did, and everyone thinks you are dead." Steph snapped at him.
"Yeah, that, well, that was not me. Ranger and someone else came into my house and then knocked me out. The person in the house was not me but looked like me enough for everyone to believe I was dead." Joe said.
"Chris and one of his other crones did that to you, Joe." Tim Manoso told him.
"Pop, why do you have your badge on? Momma will kill you. When she sees that on you." Ranger told his pop.
"Your father was a cop," Joe said with an open mouth.
"Yes, Morelli, my dad was a Detective with the 19th percent. Momma used to worry about him all the time about whether he would make it back to us. Growing up was interesting for us, to say the least," Carlos told Morelli.
"Your mom knows that I am using my badge and gun, Carlos. She was there when I took them out of the safe." Tim told his son, "I brought you this as well; it may help you take down your brother." Tim handed his son a USB drive.
"I called a friend a few months ago, and he got a warrant to bug our house. Your mother knows about this as well. I hope this will help you. Your bother is being a pain in our butts, and we need to finish this so both you and Stephanie can make me a grandfather." Tim told Carlos and Stephanie that Joe had noticed the adoption application.
"Adoption application. You two are thinking about adopting a child," Joe said with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes, Joe, I lost a baby two weeks ago, so we are looking into other options right now. We will eventually try again, but right now, it is our best option." Stephanie told him and Tim.
"Well, whatever works works," Tim said and added, "We will love him or her even more," Tim told everyone.
"Thanks, Tim," Stephanie said. Then she noticed Ranger on the phone, and he hung up.
"Bobby will be here in ten minutes to look you over, Morelli," Ranger told him.
"Thanks, He-Man," Joe said, and then asked everyone, "How am I going to get back to Trenton? I have a feeling that your mom, Cupcake, is working with Ranger's twin brother, and if that is true, we will have our hands full." Joe said, and then everyone heard the doorbell ring. Ranger looked at the monitor and saw Bobby and Tank. Ranger walked to the door and answered it.
"Come in, and you are not going to believe this." Ranger shook his head as Tank, Bobby, and Ranger walked into the kitchen and saw Joe Morelli.
"Boss," The two of them said
"It is a long story. I will fill you in later. Right now, treat him," Ranger told everyone in the room.
