After their mutual declaration, Lucas gently leads Brooke by the hand, fingers intertwined with hers, to what he calls his little cabin. The Texas sun begins to set, bathing the ranch in a golden light, and Brooke feels a strange peace invade her despite everything. When they reach the cabin, Brooke is surprised to see a small charming building, nestled between the trees. The facade is simple but warm, with a porch and a hanging swing. Lucas opens the door and lets Brooke in.
Lucas : This is where I live. I like to have my space. To be close to my mother, but not too close.
Brooke looks around, impressed by the comfort he has managed to create in this small space. Everything is impeccably organized, and the wooden furniture gives a rustic but welcoming atmosphere.
Brooke : It's charming. I see why you like it here.
Lucas : Make yourself at home.
Brooke : You have good taste, Lucas.
Lucas : Thanks. But tell me, after your mad dash to find me, you must be starving, right?
Brooke : You have no idea. My little adventure has definitely worked up an appetite.
Lucas : That's good. I have leftover lasagna from last night. If you're interested, I'll heat it up.
Brooke : Perfect.
Lucas disappears into a small adjacent kitchen, and Brooke hears him rummage through the fridge and open the microwave. While he's busy, she takes the time to examine the space. Pictures adorn the shelves, including one of Lucas and Julian when they were kids. Brooke's heart sinks for a moment, but she takes a deep breath. Julian will be a part of their lives, always, but right now, she wants to savor this moment with Lucas.
A few minutes later, Lucas comes back with two steaming plates.
Lucas : Here you go, miss. Express service.
Brooke : Thank you, sir. That's perfect.
They eat quietly, and Boroke savors every bite, but Lucas seems thoughtful. After a few moments of silence, he puts his fork down and meets Brooke's eyes.
Lucas : I have to tell you something.
Brooke : Go ahead, I'm listening.
Lucas : First, I want to apologize. For everything. My behavior that night... what I said... everything was stupid. I think I was terrified. Terrified of what... I love you. And I didn't know how to handle it. I felt like I was betraying Julian, following in his footsteps when I had no right to.
Brooke feels a lump form in her throat, but she keeps her focus on her words.
Lucas : I texted you, tons of texts. But you never responded. And I understand. I even asked Peyton and Jake for your address, but they wouldn't give it to me. And again, I get it. I had no right to ask you for anything after what I did.
Brooke : Lucas...
Lucas : Wait. I have to finish. I want to start over with you, Brooke. If you want. I want to be there for you, for your baby. And I want us to build something new, together. But I won't force you. I want you to want it too.
The emotion in his voice overwhelms Brooke.
Brooke : Now, I just want one thing. To forget the past and just move forward with you.
Lucas places his hand on her cheek, his palm warm and reassuring. His thumb gently brushes her skin, drawing circles that make her heart beat at a frantic pace. Brooke looks him in the eyes, his gaze filled with a tenderness that completely disarms her. Without realizing it, she bites her lip, an unconscious gesture that seems to capture Lucas's full attention. He opens his mouth slightly, hesitating, as if he wanted to say something. But the words remain blocked, and it is at this moment that Brooke takes the lead. She straightens up slightly and, with a determined movement, she crushes her lips against his. Lucas's breath catches for a moment, then he returns her kiss with an intensity that makes a heat grow throughout Brooke's body. The world around them fades away, and all that remains is this moment, this visceral need to feel close to each other. The kiss quickly becomes more heated, filled with a passion they've held back for too long. Lucas' hands slide down Brooke's arms to rest on her hips, pulling her even closer to him. Brooke's fingers claw at his shirt, tugging at the fabric impatiently.
Brooke : Take that off.
He complies, a smirk on his face, and with a deft gesture, he removes his shirt, revealing his tanned skin and muscles defined by years of ranch work. Brooke's fingers explore his torso, following the contours of every line, every scar. Lucas shivers under Brooke's touch, and she feels an intense satisfaction at the idea of having this effect on him. She fixes her gaze on his, her eyes shining with desire.
Brooke : Lucas... take me to your room.
Lucas's breath hitches, but he nods slowly. Without a word, he stands, holding out a hand to Brooke to help her up. She takes it without hesitation, and he gently leads her towards a door at the back of the small house. When he opens it, Brooke discovers a simple but welcoming bedroom. A large window lets in the moonlight, bathing the room in a silvery glow. A large bed sits in the center, covered in crisp white sheets. Lucas turns to Brooke, his eyes filled with desire but also infinite sweetness.
Lucas : Are you sure?
Brooke : Sureer than ever.
He wraps an arm around her waist and lifts her slightly, carrying her to the bed with disconcerting ease. As Brooke lies down, Lucas leans towards her, and their lips meet in another kiss, slower, deeper. Every movement, every gesture is filled with the passion and affection they have kept buried for so long. Brooke feels something holding him back. Lucas stops for a moment, his eyes fixed on her rounded belly.
Lucas : And the baby?
Brooke can't help but smile at his innocence. She runs a hand over his cheek and answers him:
Brooke : Lucas, you don't have to worry, everything is fine. The baby is safe, I promise.
Lucas : Are you sure?
Brooke : Absolutely sure. Now stop thinking and trust me.
This time, something changes in Lucas's gaze. The tenderness gives way to an intensity that Brooke has never seen before. His large, warm hands come to rest on Brooke's waist, and he gently pulls her towards him. He slides his fingers over the fabric of her dress, slowly removing it as if he wanted to savor every second. He takes a deep breath, his eyes roaming her body with an admiration that makes Brooke blush.
Lucas : You are so beautiful... incredibly beautiful.
His words touch her deeply, and Brooke feels her cheeks flush. But Lucas doesn't stop there. He moves closer to her, his lips brushing hers before slowly moving down her jaw, then her neck. Each kiss he places on her skin ignites Brooke's senses a little more. When Lucas' lips reach her cleavage, she shivers under his touch. He moves lower, placing a soft kiss between her breasts before lingering. His tongue gently teases one of her nipples, and Brooke lets out a sigh, her head tilting back. Lucas' hands slide over her hips, holding her firmly against him, as he continues his caresses with exquisite slowness.
Brooke : Lucas...
Lucas : Yes?
The mischievous look he gives her betrays that he knows exactly what he's doing.
Brooke : Stop playing.
When he slides into her, it's both slow and powerful, like a promise he carves into every movement. Brooke feels everything, the warmth of his skin, the strength of his gestures, and most of all, that raw, sincere love he hasn't said yet but that oozes from every moment they spend together. Brooke's hands grip Lucas' shoulders as he guides her with infinite patience, making sure she's okay.
The room is silent, except for their heavy breathing and the pounding of their hearts that seem to resonate in unison. They move in harmony, as if their bodies were always meant to be together. Each kiss, each caress seems to fill the void left by months of doubt and silence. They are vulnerable, but together, in this moment suspended outside of time. Brooke hears Lucas whisper her name, a barely audible breath that resonates like a prayer. She slides her fingers into Lucas' hair, her own murmurs mingling with his. The pleasure rises in waves, overwhelming her completely.
When they finally reach that moment of total abandonment, Brooke clings to Lucas, her face buried in his neck, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. Lucas remains lying against her, his breathing slowly regaining its rhythm. His forehead rests against hers.
Lucas : I've never loved you as much as I do right now.
They stay like that, entwined, Lucas' body covering Brooke's as if to protect her. At that moment, the outside world no longer exists. There's only them, united in a serenity that Brooke hasn't felt in a long time.
