(Day of the Entrance Exam)
Izuku woke up early and stretched before he spotted a note by his laid out training gear.
Sidekick,
Get dressed and come to the Danger Room. We have much to discuss.
Hiro.
The young Evo groaned as he shook the sleep from his head. "What does Hiro want," he asked himself before standing up. He showered and dressed in his training gear before concentrating on the cross-dimensional distance to the Evo-Earth and smirked before placing two fingers to his forehead. He blinked and was instantly in a room filled with boxes on top of metal shelves. Hiro stood not too far away and smiled as Izuku appeared.
"Oh," he exclaimed. "Instant Transmission!"
"Thought you'd like that!" Izuku smiled as he spotted Ando Masahashi, Hiro's best friend, and Peter Petrelli behind him. "Ando? Peter?"
"Hey, kid," said Peter in English.
"We're here to wish you luck in your entrance exam," said Ando.
"And to give you a choice."
"What choice," asked Izuku.
"Flight, or Crimson Arc," said Ando with a smile.
"Flight," said Izuku. "I want to get to places faster, not shoot lightning out of my hands. Yet, at least." Ando deflated and turned to Hiro who turned to him with a smirk.
"Told you," he said. Ando made a face before Peter smiled.
"So, remember what I taught you," said Peter.
"Feel the Ability, link the emotions, take it slow," said Izuku.
"Right. With Flight, or Personal Levitation as Mohinder likes to correct, the feeling is… free." Peter chuckled. "I don't know how else to describe it other than that. There's an… uplifting joy when I fly. Even if it's… somewhat melancholy because of my memories of Nathan." Peter lifted up into the air slightly.
"Joy…"
"Think of the happiest memory you've got. It should be enough to match mine."
"What's your memory, Peter?"
"A recent one. Match me and I'll tell you." Izuku racked his brain, trying to find something that could spark enough joy to make him feel free. The thought was almost instant.
(Three months prior)
Izuku stopped a hail of rubber bullets from impacting with his body in midair, carefully adjusting himself to avoid a blow from a metal staff as Momo aimed for his ribs. The Evo hopped back and smirked before creating steam from his skin and filling the room until it covered the training room entirely. "Izuku," shouted Momo, trying to see through the steam. Izuku smirked and pushed the staff out of her hands with his Psychokinesis before rushing forward, arm extended for a lariat. Momo, hearing him coming, grabbed hold of his arm and swung herself around his neck before pinning him to the ground. Izuku moved to kick her off of him but found his legs bound around the knees, preventing him from moving. She leaned in close, panting. "I win." Izuku quirked an eyebrow. "What?"
"If you wanted to be on top, you could've just asked." Momo chuckled and sat up, thankful the steam was enough to make her body mask her blush.
"Nice try. You're not getting me that easy."
"Just needed to think long enough for the blades."
"Blades?" Momo's eyes widened and she looked behind her, seeing blades jutting from Izuku's legs, cutting through the ropes. She stood up quickly, startled by the sharp objects, before the blades dropped to the ground and Izuku swung his legs to catch her own and twisted, sending her to the ground. He moved to pin her before grunting as a metal staff shot from the small of her back, impacting with his gut and knocking him to the side.
"Dirty…" He tried standing up and shouted in pain as a taser struck his side. He grunted as he dropped to the ground, point of the staff planted at his neck.
"All's fair in love and war, Midoriya." Izuku smirked before grabbing the butt of the staff, creating the end of a taser in his palm and shocking the steel staff in her hands. Momo yelped in pain and surprise before Izuku tripped her up and maneuvered himself under her as she fell forward. She blushed as she found herself a few centimeters away from his smirking face.
"Best pyric victory I could've asked for." Momo shot up before moving to where she placed her towel to wipe off her sweat and cover her face. Izuku wiped his face clean with his own towel and blinked as he lowered the cloth only to see Momo standing right in front of him. Before he could say anything, he found her lips against his with her hands braced on his chest. Without hesitation, his arms snaked around her waist as she slipped her hand up from his chest to around his neck. The two pulled away after what felt like seconds, but may well have been a couple of minutes from their panting breaths as they stared into each other's eyes.
(Present day)
Izuku opened his eyes and chuckled as he found himself floating off of the ground. With a whoop, Izuku shot out of the open window beside them with Peter following after. He lifted himself up to the clouds, his body adapting itself with the shortage of oxygen before falling backwards, closing his eyes and cradling his head in his hands. He felt a tap on his should and opened his eyes to see Peter above him. "Didn't I say to match me?"
"Come on. My first flight and I'm not gonna push the extremes? Remember when I learned Hiro's Ability?"
"I remember your mom grounding you for a month." Izuku winced before following his uncle back to the building and landing beside Hiro who was grinning from ear to ear as he placed his hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Congratulations, Flying Boy!" Izuku smiled before hovering off the ground.
"I did it," exclaimed Izuku with a smile.
"A little too overzealous, but yes you did," said Peter.
"Oh, right. What was your happy memory?"
"I asked Emma to marry me. She said yes." Izuku's and Hiro's grins widened as Ando's mouth matched their own. All at once, the three congratulated Peter. Izuku smiled before Hiro turned to him with a nod.
"I must take Izuku back to his home," said Hiro. "He has an exam to prepare for, after all."
"Good luck, Izuku," said Ando. "Kick some ass."
"Good luck, kid," said Peter with a grin. Hiro placed his hand on Izuku's shoulder before clenching his eyes.
(Two hours later)
Izuku walked beside Katsuki as they headed to the gate of UA. "After over ten years of waiting, we're finally here," said Izuku with a smirk.
"You should just give up now, Izuku," smirked Bakugou. "There's no way you're going to beat me at this. Even with that cheap knockoff of my Quirk."
"It's actually better than your Quirk, Kachan." Izuku turned to the blonde. "And I proved it by saving your ass almost a year ago."
"Fucker…" Izuku smirked before ducking under his palm before flicking his finger, making his oldest friend trip on himself and fall to the ground where he glared up at the boy.
"Face it, Kachan. The number one spot is a cinch. And you better settle for second place."
"Like hell you're beating me!"
"Oh no," muttered a timid voice behind them. We turned and spotted Bushida not too far away. He had been showing major improvements in his physique since Izuku last saw him, though his personality was still lacking in confidence.
"Fuck are you doing here, Dead Weight?"
"Kachan," Izuku said with an annoyed look before turning to Kenta. "You alright, Bushida-San?"
"Don't bother with the Quirkless wannabe, Izuku."
"You forget I was in the same boat until you pushed me too far, Kachan?" Izuku sent a small glare to Katsuki before turning back to Kenta. "Just ignore him. Can't do anything but give it your all, right?"
"Hopefully, it's enough," muttered Kenta.
"Just stay out of the way, Dead Weight," said Katsuki. "Let the real heroes show you why you won't ever make it." Katsuki growled at Izuku as the verdet psychically slapped him upside the head.
"Ignore him," said Izuku. "Just do everything you can to prove yourself."
"Right," said Kenta. The Evo nodded before leading the other two towards the entrance.
The written exam was fairly simple for Izuku, already being the top of his class academics wise alongside Katsuki. He turned his exam paper before strolling out to the hall, subtly flicking off a slightly snarling Katsuki as he glared Izuku's way before turning back to his test. Izuku waited off to the side, waiting for others since his phone was confiscated along with everyone else's. He flicked his fingers back and forth, messing with Katsuki's spare pencil, only slightly annoying the blond as he finished his exam.
"Fucker," growled Katsuki as he stood beside Izuku.
"Not my fault you're not as smart as me."
"I'm way smarter!" Katsuki growled at some of the other test takers as they shushed him. "Shut up!"
"Calm down, before you pop a blood vessel. This is why I said you need counseling before the test. That anger is not a good indicator you're a hero."
"Fuck off, Deku."
"I told you not to call me that."
"I'll do whatever the hell I want."
"Good luck rising in the ranks with that attitude…" Izuku ignored his best friend's growl as he glared in Izuku's direction. "Better bring you're A-Game for the physical exam, Kachan. You won't be beating me."
"You're on, Deku. But you could never hold a candle to me."
"How about a bet then?"
"The usual?"
"Why not? It's worked so far."
"You're on." The two bumped their fists together and grinned before resuming their seats as everyone finished their exams as well. Izuku resumed his seat and tapped Kenta on the shoulder as the boy sat down.
"You okay, Bushida? You look a little green."
"Fucker's probably nervous about flunking out the next test."
"I'm fine," said Kenta. "I think it's just… something I ate…"
"Bad breakfast," asked Izuku.
"Something like that…" The three boys, along with the other examinees around them turned to the front as one of the UA teachers, the hero known as Present Mic, rushed onto the stage. Izuku mentally noted the Quirk and sent his mind spinning as he recognized the elation behind Present Mic's voice, the need for attention.
'Sociopathic qualities mixed with an extrovert personality and a need to please others. Dad would've had a field day with that one,' Izuku thought to himself. 'Wouldn't even need to cut him open, it fits with him perfectly.' Izuku listened to the presentation on the exam, letting his enhanced spatial awareness expand throughout the room, something he'd been doing since he was a child. He could feel every impatient tick, every restless foot and rocking knee, even a few flies buzzing around above their heads to get warmth from the spotlights in the auditorium.
"Three bots," muttered Kenta. "Each with their own point count… Almost like a video game."
"Except you lose, that's it," muttered Katsuki.
"Then just don't lose," said Izuku. "Fight with everything you've got."
"Words to live by."
"To die by is more like it," muttered Kenta.
"That's morbid," said Izuku. He kept his gaze on someone trying to stand only for Izuku's Psychokinesis to keep him down and not interrupt the explanation.
"And just because you listeners have been such a patient audience, there's one last bit of information I'd like to give you," shouted Present Mic. "As you've all no doubt noticed, there are four shadows on the screen behind me. The One, Two, and Three-Pointers and a fourth one. This last robot is worth zero points, and exists only as an obstacle to avoid. It's not that it can't be beaten, there's just no reason to! With all that said, it's time for you to board your buses to your respective training grounds!" Izuku walked past the other examinees and stood in front of the bespectacled boy.
"Patience goes a long way. It may not have seen like we were treating this seriously, but I assure you we were." The boy looked at him, fearful when he couldn't stand or open his mouth. "I'm going to let you go now. So please don't shout." Izuku flicked his fingers and the boy shot to his feet. "Sorry to use my Quirk on you, but if there's one thing I can always spot, it's annoyance." The boy adjusted his glasses as he turned to Izuku.
"That was very unnecessary," exclaimed the boy, arm chopping like a machine.
"You were about to interrupt the explanation for something that Present Mic explained later, right? The fourth enemy type?" The boy stiffened slightly. "I can tell you're big on rules and regulations, so that's how I knew you were."
"How could you know that?"
"I know how to read people. Emotions are kind of my thing." He held out his hand. "Izuku Midoriya." The boy hesitated slightly before shaking Izuku's hand and bowing slightly.
"Tenya Iida." The boy adjusted his glasses. "I don't appreciate you using your Quirk on me."
"It was either that or let you call us out for talking about the exam. We're just as serious about it as you. One of us more so. So instead of assuming we're not taking this seriously, I suggest you focus on your own exam. Let us worry about ours and any distractions you would've caused if you called us out." Izuku pat Tenya's shoulder and walked on as Katsuki turned back to him.
"You're doing that casual intimidation thing, aren't you," asked the explosive blond.
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Bullshit." The two bumped fists before heading to their respective buses and Izuku sat beside a girl with long green hair, wide eyes, and her tongue slightly sticking out of her mouth. Izuku turned to the girl as her tongue shot out to smack a fly that was buzzing around her.
"Reptile or amphibian related Quirk?" The girl turned to him, staring wide-eyed and passive.
"Amphibian," she said, followed by a croak. "Specifically Frog."
"Handy for rescue and improvised combat. Nice." He held out his hand. "Izuku Midoriya." The girl shook it.
"Tsuyu Asui. But you can just call me Tsu."
"Then you can call me Izuku. My uncle's from America, so I'm used to addressing people by their given names. Even preferred nicknames."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Izuku."
"Likewise."
"What's your Quirk?"
"Technically, a copy Quirk." Izuku's Spatial Awareness alerted him to someone behind him turning their head in interest.
"What do you mean technically?"
"It's more like… I understand how things work and adapt from there." Tsuyu tilted her head in curiosity, finger on her chin. "It… hold on…" Izuku lifted his hand and ignited fire in his palm. "Based on someone's emotional symmetry with myself, and my knowledge of how an Ability works, I can replicate non-transformation Quirks. Quirks like yours would require a shapeshifting Ability to fully copy."
"That seems handy."
"It is. Especially since I can take it a step further."
"What do you mean?"
"I'll keep that a secret until the exam starts. Someone else has been steadily trying to hear more about my Quirk behind us. I don't like eavesdroppers." Izuku flicked his fingers and the blond boy was thrown back into his seat. Izuku glanced back at the shocked, and clearly peeved, boy before turning back around. Walking calmly off the bus, Izuku looked up at the massive door between him and his first obstacle to being a hero. He flexed his fingers and thought up how best to go about the exam as Tsuyu stood beside him.
"Good luck, Izuku."
"Same to you, Tsu." Izuku threw out his arm and a replica of Hiro's katana shot from his hand until he caught it in his palm.
"Ribbit!" Tsuyu brought a finger to her cheek as she jumped in surprise along with a pink-skinned girl not too far away.
"That was so cool," exclaimed the pinkette as she walked over to him. "I bet you practiced that at home, huh?!"
"Was it that obvious," asked Izuku, scratching his cheek. "You wouldn't believe the number of dull blades I had to melt down after the number of attempts I tried at home…"
"Begin," shouted a droning voice as the giant doors started opening. Izuku wasted no time and floated ten feet off the ground before shooting for the doors. He raised his blade, bringing it down on the first robotic enemy he found, a Three-Pointer, and cleaving it in two.
"Soft metal alloy? Of course. It's for a test. I meant to test the strength of the katana, not cleave the machine in half… But now I know the score." Flicking the oil off the sword, Izuku created a sheathe and strapped the katana to his back before flying ahead.
(UA Observation Room)
"We have another promising batch this year," said Present Mic.
"But this batch seems exceptionally so," said Nezu, focusing on a screen where Katsuki Bakugou was flying through the air, propelled by explosives, and landing attacks on the test robots. His gaze shifted to one showing Izuku Midoriya using a combination of Quirks to get the job done as well as help maneuver others out of tricky and potentially dangerous situations either due to their own Quirk, or debris from the fighting.
"And then there are those who show less than favorable talent," muttered Eraser Head. His eyes settled on the screen showing Kenta. The boy was showing little to no talent for combat, only throwing strong punches at random when encountered with an enemy. He managed to take them down, but so much energy was wasted on a single enemy, it was laughable.
"Now, now. Best to not judge a book by its cover." Toshinori nodded in agreement as he watched his chosen successor. Somehow, he'd taken to One for All faster than Toshinori himself had and was showing remarkable progress in how he was wielding the Quirk. He couldn't help but feel proud. Then his gaze shifted over to the other boy he was familiar with. Midoriya was another story entirely. Switching between Quirks like it was nothing, using Pyrokinesis to debilitate and Psychokinesis to disorient and defend himself and others, only using that katana he'd created to remove the weapons of his opponents. Izuku Midoriya seemed every bit the young, aspiring, altruistic hero. But part of him couldn't help but feel like he was somehow related to All For One, and Toshinori hated himself for that.
"This test is illogical. Not every Quirk is combat efficient. We shouldn't waste someone's time in General Studies because of a lack of combat skill."
"Like it or not, Aizawa, it's out of our hands." Aizawa's gaze shifted back to Midoriya as the boy surveilled the fake city beneath him before flying out of view of the camera, moving faster than its motors could follow. His eyes narrowed as the boy once again, deflected the scorpion tail of a robot from hitting another examinee before rolling away as the boy hardened his hands and punched a hole through the machine.
"We've reached the ten minute mark," said Cementoss.
"Well then," said Nezu. "Let's really test them, shall we?" Nezu pressed down a big red button as his eyes shined with a sort of sadistic glee.
(Testing Ground Charlie)
"86…" muttered Izuku before settling on a rooftop, slightly winded. "I knew flying would take a lot, but not this much. Then again, I'm changing altitude quickly. Even with my body adjusting because of Flight, it's still a difference in air density." He knelt on the edge of the rooftop as Tsuyu climbed up the wall to him.
"Are you okay, Izuku," asked Tsuyu.
"I'm fine. Still new to Flight. It's fun. But the concentration takes a lot, especially when I'm also fighting and helping others, that and the constant change in altitude, it's sort of exhausting."
"How many Quirks have you copied, Izuku?"
"Six. Only four are really meant for combat." Izuku floated up again and turned to her. "How well have you done so far?"
"Only about 43 points. What about you?" Before Izuku could speak, he heard a loud rumbling and saw a few buildings shift aside to make room for the giant Zero Point robot. "That's a bit overkill, isn't it?" Tsuyu hopped onto the roof and turned to where Izuku was looking before croaking in agreement. Izuku flew down quickly as the machine smashed a building apart, sending debris falling to the street below. "Look out!" Izuku flew into the boy with a metallic body Quirk and the pinkette from earlier and flew them out of the way of the debris when they were too distracted by their robotic opponents.
"Whoa, thanks," shouted the pinkette.
"Get to safety. The Zero-Pointer is loose and smashing buildings. Best to get out of the way before anyone gets hurt."
"I'd be fine," said the boy.
"Don't just bank on assumptions on your Quirk. So much can go wrong." Izuku flicked his fingers and the debris beside them collided with the head of the robot, sending it reeling slightly. The robot's sensors turned to him in response. Izuku smirked as the robot swung one of its arms at him. The examinees stared in awe as the arm stopped ten feet from Izuku thanks to his Psychokinesis. Izuku held up his hand before flicking his fingers out. The arm shot backwards, impacting with the machine's head and knocking it clean off.
"Whoa," exclaimed the pinkette as she stared up at the boy.
"That's so manly," shouted the boy beside her.
"Ribbit," croaked Tsuyu in agreement. Izuku landed beside them and smirked.
"That's not too overboard, is it," he asked with a smirk.
"That was awesome," exclaimed the two beside him and Tsuyu.
(Testing Ground Alpha)
Kenta Bushida breathed out as he came to a stop in the middle of the fake street before feeling the ground quake slightly under him. He turned around as he registered his fellow examinees running past him. It was then that he saw why. The Zero Point robot was barreling through the streets, smashing buildings left and right, sending rubble to the ground below. Kenta smirked as he saw this and leapt. The perfect opportunity to test his strength. He shot toward the machine and reared back his fist, ignoring the scream of pain beneath him as he zeroed in on his target.
Putting everything into his punch, he swung away, fist impacting with the body of the machine. The machine reeled back, chassis dented and wiring exposing from cracks in the metal. Gears and machinery scattered out of the back as Bushida fell to the ground with a grin. He turned to the ground and kicked downwards, the force of the kick suspending his fall slightly so he landed without breaking anything. Bushida smiled down at his hands and laughed to himself. He took no notice of the girl trapped under rubble beside him as he walked away. He had power now. He could be a hero now. He wouldn't be looked down on. Kenta smirked to himself before registering the girl calling for help. He threw a single jab and shattered the rubble on top of her with a shot of air.
Ochako Uraraka yelped in surprise and little bit of pain as the boy in front of her shattered the rubble trapping her leg. The debris rattled her body and the impact made her injury hurt slightly more. She clutched at her leg and gasped in pain as the siren marking the end of the exam went off. She barely registered in her pain the pair of smaller robots carrying her to the old woman.
(Observation Room)
Toshinori watched on with a frown. 'That's… troubling,' he thought to himself. 'Perhaps I should speak with young Bushida sooner than I planned…'
(Testing Ground Charlie)
As the exam ended, Izuku was pat on the back by the steel boy, the pinkette and Tsu behind him as they waited for the bus back to the main building. "Dude," exclaimed the smiling teen. "What you did back there was awesome!"
"So awesome," exclaimed the pinkette. "The way you took off the Zero-Pointer's head like it was nothing!"
"Or just before that when he just stood there with a smirk that screamed 'Come at me, bro!' That was so manly!"
"Did you know you would be able to do that, Izuku-Kun," asked Tsu.
"Sort of. I've never maxed out my weight limit, so it was just a hunch," said Izuku.
"You did all of that on a hunch," exclaimed the three teens.
"Yeah. Otherwise, someone would've gotten hurt, limiting their exam results. I like things being as equal as possible."
"Dude, that's incredible," exclaimed the redhead. "Oh, yeah!" He jutted a thumb to his chest. "I'm Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu!"
"And I'm Mina Ashido," said the pinkette.
"I'm Izuku Midoriya," replied the young Evo. "And this is Tsuyu Asui."
"You can just call me Tsu," croaked the frog-like girl.
"Do you two know each other," asked Mina.
"We only met on the bus before the exam," said Izuku. "I saw both of you out there. Acid and Steel Body Quirks, right?"
"Yeah, that's right. Speaking of Quirks, just what the heck kinda Quirk do you have anyways?!"
"I call it True Potential. I can understand how something works and restore/replicate it. Through emotional symmetry, I can use this to copy a Quirk and understand how to bring it to the highest Apex I can think for it. Flight, Psychokinesis, Pyrokinesis, Electron Manipulation, and some others."
"And it doesn't go away," exclaimed the blonde boy from earlier. Izuku shook his head, slightly annoyed.
"I'm guessing you have a limited copy Quirk?" The boy said nothing and grumbled, trying to get close enough to touch Izuku who simply floated above the boy, much to his annoyance.
On the bus ride back to the main campus, Izuku spotted the test for Recommended Applicants and decided to teleport back in time ten minutes as the bus transporting them pulled up.
(Observation Room)
As Nezu went over the footage for the exams, he noticed something impossible and intriguing all at once. At the same time as he was taking the exam, one of the examinees had been watching the Recommendation Exams as well. At first he wrote it off as a clone Quirk, or twin, but then he noted something odd. As the exam had been going on, Izuku Midoriya had been careless with one of the machines, and had gotten his short torn close to his ribs. The same tear that appeared on the boy at the Recommended Exam. "Interesting," muttered the chimera to himself.
(Recommendation Exam)
As the bus pulled up, Izuku smirked as he watched the exam takers climb off the bus, particularly the ravenette as she stepped off. "Momo," he shouted. Startled, the Creation Quirk wielder looked up and blinked in surprise.
"Izuku," asked Momo as she spotted him. Izuku walked over with a smile. "Izuku, what are you doing here? You should taking… wait." She looked him over for a moment. "Izuku did you…?"
"I did. I wanted to watch your exam so I blinked here."
"As sweet as this is, you really shouldn't be here. Only the recommended exam takers are supposed to be here."
"Just one kiss, then I'm gone." Momo blushed and glanced around before sighing.
"You're lucky I find you endearing…"
"Hey, I'll take it if it means being with you." The two exchanged a kiss and Momo felt like she was floating on air as he held her close. It was only as she pulled back from the kiss did she realize they actually were flying. She almost stumbled from his grip if she hadn't felt an invisible force keeping her in place with the slightly shorter boy. "I've got you, don't worry. Sorry, guess I should've warned you before."
"Your uncle taught you flight?"
"He did. I'm still getting used to it. It requires a feeling of joy and… thinking back to our first kiss or even kissing you now…" Momo blushed and cleared her throat.
"You can set me down now."
"What if I don't want to?"
"I have to take the test so we can attend UA together, remember?"
"Fine. You and your logic." Izuku brought them back to the ground where one of the other Recommended students rushed over.
"Were you flying just now," he exclaimed.
"Yeah."
"That's so cool! I didn't even feel a gust of wind just now!"
"I'm guessing you're an Aerokinetic?"
"Yep! My Quirk is Whirlwind! I can control the air around me to create cyclones to use for a number of purposes!"
"Ok, that's cool."
"By this, you mean you use this to fly," asked Momo.
"That's right!"
"Okay," said Izuku. "Maybe I'll stick around to see how well you do after all. I've already completed my exam so I've got free time."
"What do you mean you've completed your exam?"
"That would be telling. All you've gotta know, is I'm watching what you guys have to do. But know I'll be cheering my girlfriend on."
"Silently, I hope ," said Momo. "Otherwise you'll embarrass me."
"Fine. We'll do it your way." Momo kissed his cheek and made the verdet blush before clearing his throat. "By the way, I'm Izuku Midoriya and this is Momo Yaoyorozu.
"I'm Inasa Yoarashi!" Izuku and Momo jumped slightly as Inasa bowed low enough and quickly enough that his head impacted with the ground.
"Are you okay," asked Momo. Inasa stood up straight with a wide grin.
"Yep! Sorry, I tend to get overexcited a lot!"
"It shows," said Izuku with a soft chuckle.
"Are you also taking the exams?"
"I am," said Momo. "Izuku's taking the normal exam."
"Taken the normal exam," corrected Izuku. "Technically speaking."
"What," asked Inasa.
"It's a long story. Don't worry about it for now. Good luck you two." Izuku stood back and watched the exam from a distance away from the teacher giving it. Immediately, he noted the drastically different exam for the Recommended examinees. Where his was to use his Quirk in a combat scenario, the Recommended Exam seemed to only be a six kilometer race using their Quirks. "That's just not fair…" He chuckled to himself. "Then again, it wouldn't be fair for them if I had been part of this exam… " Izuku watched as Inasa rode a tornado racing for the finish line, a boy with red and white hair neck and neck with him while riding on a trail of ice. Momo was trailing in fourth place behind a boy who was diving in and out of the ground as it liquified and solidified behind him, Momo having created a pair of hover skates with a small jet propelling her forward. Behind her was a flying body part as a girl bisected her limbs to propel into the air and quickly reassembling herself, fumbling slightly as she tried slipping her limbs back through the holes in her tank top and shorts.
Izuku whistled and clapped as Momo passed the liquifying boy in the last twenty feet as his stamina ran out, Inasa having surpassed the Cryokinetic moments earlier. Momo blushed and tucked her hair behind her ear before turning to him. "Izuku, I said silently," exclaimed Momo as she stumbled with removing her skates.
"Sorry, couldn't help it." Izuku turned to Inasa as he went to praise the bi-colored boy only for the boy to glare and walk off. Izuku blinked just behind the boy and grabbed his shoulder. "Hey, Sourpuss. Would it kill you to be friendly?" The boy turned to Izuku, glaring even more.
"You weren't part of the exam," said the boy with a monotone voice.
"Oh really? I hadn't noticed, Captain Obvious. I finished the regular exam seven minutes from now."
"I think you mean ago, right," asked the bisected girl as she reassembled herself.
"It would take too long to cover the semantics. Just know I finished my exam and came to see how my girlfriend was doing. Needless to say, she was flawless."
"Izuku," groaned Momo as she covered her blushing face.
"But back to the matter at hand." Izuku turned fully to the heterochromic boy. "I'm not asking you to make friends, but at least be cordial and not like everyone is in your way."
"Just leave it alone," said Inasa. "He's just like his dad…" The monotoned boy's eyes widened as he heard Inasa's comment and took a step forward before getting sent backwards by an invisible force.
"Don't. You got something to say, it better be an apology. Otherwise, you can fuck right off."
"Izuku," exclaimed Momo. "Must you use such crass language?"
"I wouldn't be me otherwise," replied Izuku before checked his watch and phone and turning to his girlfriend. "Time's up for me. I'll call you later, Mo-Chan." Momo blushed at the nickname and even more as Izuku pecked her lips before blinking out of sight.
"Whoa…" exclaimed the boy with the liquifying Quirk as he swung his arms where the verdet had once been.
Izuku blipped into the exact spot he had been sitting in on the bus and smirked as he kicked his feet up onto the seat beside him, much to the chagrin of the boy across the aisle from him. At the back of the bus, Kenta Bushida smirked as he surged One for All though his hands, watching the sparks of energy flare off his hands. He reached out to the seat ahead of him and clenched his hand around it, forming an indent in the metal the shape of his fingers. 'So this is what strength feels like,' he thought to himself as he went over his exam and the exhilarating feeling of tearing through the robots one by one. 'Try and blow me up now, Bakugou…'
