Well, that last chapter amirite?

Fun fact, I told my friends about this story and said "And in my Christmas Lukanette fanfic Marinette fucking kills Gabriel!" and I gave them no context as to why...I just said "It's not Christmas until Marinette kills Gabriel."

Well...There's your context lol.

Anyway, on with the show!

It felt like the longest sleep Luka ever had.

Everything was dark, and Luka was tossing and turning until he heard the familiar sound of a music box. The nightmare faded away as Luka's eyes slowly opened.

He woke up on Christmas day feeling the weight of the world crumble, but he couldn't bring himself out of bed because that dream felt all too real. He wasn't sure how to make sense of everything that happened.

And then he remembered…The music box and doll by the window.

Luke quickly picked himself up. While the music box was still playing beautiful music, the knitting fairy doll was gone! He frantically searched his bedroom, and then his heart stopped when Juleka called his name and cracked open his door.

"Good morning bro, Merry Christmas, I guess," Juleka said.

"Jules!" Luka cried. His sister was almost too taken aback by how stressed he was.

"Have you seen the knitting fairy?!"

Juleka took a moment to bite her lip to process that question. "No…" She took another moment to run her fingers through her hair, and Luka felt the need to ground himself and not look so ridiculous.

"But…I can search for the doll for you if you want Luka…"

Then Luka remembered. He grabbed his jacket, put it on over his pajamas, and slipped on his shoes.

"I need to see Master Fu!"

Juleka winced. "Right now?" Luka didn't answer that question as he closed his bedroom door on his sister and ran out of the boathouse into the snow.

Juleka questioned what was happening, but then she remembered why their mother was against using rat poison against pesky rats: too many fumes were bad. She blinked her eyes and sat on her brother's bed as she looked at the beautiful music box by the window. "It figures…"

Luka didn't care how ridiculous he was rushing through the snow to get to Master Fu's antique shop. He nearly ripped the door open and made his way in. Master Fu was in the room and smiled as if Luka hadn't just rudely let himself in.

"Oh! Merry Christmas, Luka, you have perfect timing!"

Luka clenched his teeth, realizing he wasn't acting properly, but he had to get answers.

"Master Fu! The Knitting Fairy! She could be…" Luka started to lose his breath.

Master Fu ran his fingers through his beard before trying to calm the young man.

"Luka, I know you have undergone a bit of a transformation…"

Luka groaned under his breath and clenched his fist. "I'm not sure what's going on with me, Master. I think I am losing my mind."

Master Fu chuckled, and Luka shot him a look.

"I knew you had the makings of greatness, Luka. You did very well, and you should be proud of yourself."

Luka didn't find this very funny. In fact, he was close to crying because he may have been asleep. But as far as he was concerned, he had lost the person most important to him forever!

"Master Fu, I can barely keep myself sane! I need to find her! She could be in danger! I need to find–"

"Uncle Fu!" Cried a familiar feminine voice from the other room. "I'm missing one of the birdhouses!"

Luka turned slowly, feeling some deja vu. Master Fu smiled warmly from behind as a beautiful young lady wearing pink silk and her midnight blue hair in pigtails appeared from the door. She automatically locked eyes with Luka, which made his mouth drop…She looked so familiar.

"...Marinette?"

The girl pursed her lips into a smile. "Mari, actually." She pondered for a moment with her finger rubbing her cheek. "But I think I like Marinette more…"

"Luka…" Master Fu said as Luka noticed how jovial he looked.

"This is my only niece, Mari."

Luka looked at her again and saw her smiling at her feet and making a slight curtsy in her pink dress.

"I'm so happy to meet you, Luka."

Luka felt his heart race as he tried to swallow. "Likewise," he wanted to punch himself for replying like that, but not in front of her.

Master Fu touched Luka's back as if he knew how to calm Luka's nerves. "This is the niece I alluded to a few times, and she is finally home for Christmas!" Mari's beautiful blue eyes sparkled, bringing a million flashbacks to Luka's memory.

It was certainly something how Luka and Mari were so taken aback by each other that they couldn't say a word, just staring at each other in wonder as if they had met in a previous life… a good thing Master Fu was there to break the ice, although he also took notice of the wavelength the two teenagers were on.

"I'm sure you and Juleka will make my precious little Mari feel welcomed here and keep her company during Christmas dinner."

Luka winced, and Mari placed her hands together in delight.

"You'll be here for Christmas dinner?" Mari cried.

"Um…" Luka suddenly remembered something important. He looked down and saw that he was still wearing his pajamas and jacket. Mari seemed very excited, and Luka gave her a nonchalant smile in return.

"Of course I will!" He said. Although Luka could only keep his cool for so long as he turned away blushing. "I just need to…"

"Of course! Make sure to look your best and bring your special gifts!" Master Fu said, patting Luka on the back again. Luka decided not to embarrass himself further as he headed for the door. However, he turned to Mari again as she hid her blush by covering her face with her hand.

But then Mari looked at Luka, who was about to go out into the cold, and quickly ran into the back to grab a few things.

"Wait!"

Luka felt his heart skip a beat as the beautiful girl returned to his side with some knitted items, all in baby blue.

"So you don't get cold," Mari said gently. She wasted no time helping him put on the gloves and hat and tenderly wrapping the scarf around his neck. Luka looked down at her as if he saw the entire world, and Mari's blush became redder as she nearly fell over.

"Thank you, Miss Mari."

"Oh!" Mari yelped. "It's no problem at all, I can't let you freeze!"

After that, she couldn't help but giggle, and Luka chuckled in return. The look in her eyes begged him to come back soon, and the look in Luka's eyes replied, "Of course, miss! Any time of the week!"

Luka felt on cloud nine regardless of the cold breeze, thanks to the knitted items made by a classy girl. And Master Fu saw how Mari looked over the moon as she eagerly decorated the rest of the antique shop for Christmas dinner.

Luka put on the best dress clothes he owned so he could at least pretend he was a decent gentleman for the night. By the time he made his hair nice and smooth, he started to question if he was trying too hard. Juleka looked at him while raising an eyebrow. But Anarka couldn't help but gush at her son and hug him before squishing his face, noting how handsome he looked.

When the snow sparkled like diamonds in the Paris twilight, the Couffaine family made their way to Fu's antique shop. When they opened the door, Mari looked absolutely festive in a holiday red dress as she greeted the Couffaines.

"Merry Christmas everyone!" Mari beamed.

Luka blushed, and Juleka raised an eyebrow at her brother.

"Merry Christmas, Dearie!" Anarka cried. "It's so nice meeting Master Fu's niece at long last!"

Mari wasted no time making the Couffaines feel welcome. She even helped her elderly Uncle carve the Christmas roast duck, but she had to admit it was a bit of a struggle for her. So Luka decided to do most of the carving, and Master Fu and Anarka smiled in approval. Juleka was just happy that the duck was finally carved.

It was a pleasant dinner with lots of laughter and warmth. But as much as Luka enjoyed all the food, he couldn't help but look at Mari curiously, noticing how familiar she was. As the dinner went on, Mari and Luka were able to have fun with the others without blushing uncontrollably.

"Oh Mari! You're just as sweet and talented as your Uncle said ye are!" Anarka cried. "You don't deserve half of the tragedy that you went through in your life. Luka and Juleka lost their grandparents when they were very young, but you've been through much worse."

Mari pressed her spoon against her lips, but she still smiled. "It's alright. My parents are always with me, and they left me so much. I was homeschooled because I was bullied, but I got to explore my love for painting, and also…" Mari looked down at her plate for a moment. But Luka looked at her softly, and Mari breathed and lifted her head.

"I also like to knit; it's always helped me when I felt lonely…"

Mari was relieved to get that off her chest but then looked down at her plate again and pressed her fingers together.

Luka smiled warmly and shook his head.

"That's nothing to be ashamed about, Mari. It's wonderful!" Luka said with such sincerity. But he regretted setting his scarf aside. Even if he had only just met Mari, he would have kept that scarf close to him. And Luka would probably wonder all night why his feelings were all over the place tonight.

"Yeah, that's really cool!" Juleka chimed in. Mari smiled back at her, and the two girls continued to share their interests.

"Aye! Nothing to be ashamed of, lass!" Anarka said.

But as Mari and Juleka were having fun with their little conversation, Master Fu intervened by tapping his glass.

"Mari, we should move this into the living room and serve dessert."

Mari gasped and quickly got up. "Oh my gosh! You're right! I need to serve everyone dessert!"

Luka smiled fondly at her and chuckled.

Dessert was definitely no slouch either, as a variety was served on the living room table.

"This is cranberry tart, Earl Grey pie, and chocolate thumbprint cookies," Mari trailed off as she picked up one last plate. She gently brought it to the living room but looked at Luka before setting it before him.

"And Luka, you should try these gingerbread cookies; they were my mother's and father's recipe. I loved making gingerbread houses with them when they were still alive…"

Luka wasted no time taking one of the gingerbread people, biting its little head, and moaning in delight at the taste of the sweet ginger cookie. He quickly grabbed another one, and Juleka gave him a resentful look as if he would take the entire plate for himself and quickly grabbed her own pair of gingerbread people cookies.

"Whoa! This is amazing!" Juleka said between bites of food.

After everyone enjoyed the dessert that Master Fu and Mari made, everyone sat on the comfortable chairs to relax.

Luka enjoyed spending time with Mari and Juleka on the couch. Still, Anarka shoehorned an idea while looking at her son intently.

"Luka…"

"Hm?" Luka said. "What is it, Mom?"

Anarka smiled. "I was wonderin' if you could play some nice music for us, Luka."

"Oh…" Luka said as his heart thumped a bit.

Mari looked a bit worried, and Juleka bit her lip as well. She knew her older brother was insecure about playing music, but…Then Luka stood up and smiled, an action that Juleka didn't see coming.

"I would love to, but I left my violin at home…"

In no time at all, Master Fu came in with a violin from the shop. "Here Luka! I would love to hear you play!"

Luka accepted the violin, and everyone waited quietly in anticipation as Luka closed his eyes and ran the violin stick against the strings. He played the same song he had played for all the people of Princess Marinette's kingdom, which helped restore the kingdom to glory. It felt like, for a moment, he was back in that magical world.

Mari watched him from behind as he played his violin. Still, she could've sworn everything was sparkling around them as he played his beautiful music. Of course, the song ended on a melancholy note, and Luka sighed but tried to smile afterward.

Anarka and Master Fu cheered for Luka as they clapped.

"That was amazing Luka! I always knew you had it in ye!" Anarka cried.

"Yes! That was quite wonderful!" Master Fu said as he continued to clap.

"Thank you," Luka said softly, turning back to Mari and Juleka. To his surprise, Juleka looked seriously impressed by his performance. Mari's eyes sparkled as she placed her hands over her lips.

"Wow Luka! I didn't think you had it in you!" Juleka teased.

Luka raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Thanks Sis!"

But Mari shook her head and looked like she was trying not to scream; it almost freaked Luka out.

"That was so beautiful Luka!" Mari cried.

"Hey," Luka said as he tried to console her. "It wasn't that great…"

Mari shook her head. "Yes it was! It truly moved me!"

After that, Mar and Luka spent the rest of the evening in the back of the house. She pulled up a blanket and revealed to Luka a train set with a model kingdom that looked so familiar. When Marinette turned on the toy train, Luka couldn't help but comment on the different parts of the kingdom.

"That's the gingerbread village," Luka said, where we met Alya and Nino among the destroyed houses. And that's the cherry blossom valley," Luka remembered, where they met Adrien and Kagami.

Luka looked at the castle in the center. "The castle had the most dedicated knights and cared about art, music, and literature."

Mari looked like she was musing over Luka's stories. But then Luka felt he was being ridiculous for talking about his strange dream. He questioned why such a peculiar dream felt like a memory.

Still, this was the best Christmas he had in years, and he spent it with his family and the most extraordinary girl. But what about Princess Marinette?

"Luka! It's time for us to be headin' off now!" Anarka said.

Luka and Mari turned and saw Anarka smiling and Juleka giving both of them a teasing look. Mari looked down momentarily and smiled, but then a lightbulb went off in her head.

"Wait a moment!" Mari bit her lip for a second.

"What is it, Mari?" Luka asked. Oh, his deep ocean-blue eyes looking through her would drive her crazy. She took his hand, and they went to the other room, where Mari was relieved they had a little privacy.

Mari pressed her fingers together and tried not to blush. "Sorry to drag you like that…"

"Don't apologize," Luka smiled.

Marinette looked up into his eyes and found her courage.

"Luka, if you are available. I wanted to ask if you wanted to go ice skating with me tomorrow."

God Mari already regretted asking him so boldly, and Luka placed his hand on his hip.

"I would love to Mari!"

Mari's mouth dropped, but she was so overjoyed. "You would?"

Luka nodded. "Of course!"

"Eeee!" Mari cried, and Luka chuckled in return.

"I can't wait!" Mari cried.

Luka smiled warmly. "Me too."

And as much as Luka and Mari didn't want to say goodnight and goodbye to this wonderful Christmas, they at least had tomorrow to look forward to. However, she made the most enormous sigh of relief of the night when she and her Uncle Fu were finally alone.

Mari smiled as she watched the snow fall, thinking everything would be nice and cold tomorrow for their ice skating day, but most importantly…

"Oh Uncle Fu! Luka remembers! He remembers everything!"

Master Fu chuckled for his beloved niece.

"I had no doubt in my mind he wouldn't forget about how he saved the kingdom and saved you…"

"Princess Marinette."
