When they returned it was like a blur for Hikari. The Dark Ocean became a blur. The nightmares thankfully stopped, but maybe it was because of how hectic things go afterwards. Karen, Taichi, Yamato, Takeru, and Mimi were all taken into medical care. Hikari's apartment was destroyed so she found herself staying over at either her mother's place or Miyako's place. Ken was bedridden for a while, but once he recovered, things became easier to manage. Hikari and Miyuki were examined multiple times by Gennai and Koushiro to ensure the Dark Ocean could not come back. Hikari was moving around so much she couldn't pay attention to Daisuke.

He wasn't around too much, maybe Digital Force stuff if she had to guess. The times they saw each other were small moments when he waved and said 'hello'. Once the check ups came to an end, Daisuke was on her mind completely. Even Miyuki began to ask about him.

Today was no different. Hikari sat on the couch of the Ichijouji household. Miyuki was to stay with her grandmother for the week.

"So how about we go shopping?" Miyako, carrying Hinami, sat on the couch. "Ken is at work, and we need to do something together." Hikari glanced over and shrugged, "okay, what's wrong? I thought the Dark Ocean was gone."

"It is… it's just… how is Dai-kun?"

"Daisuke-san is supposedly just trying to get his part in order. Nothing bad," Miyako said as she saw a frown on Hikari's face. "Look, I can ask Ken to contact Rei or someone from Digital Force to make sure."

"Right," Hikari nodded before she heard a knock.

Miyako got up, sighing, "wasn't expecting any guest… did Ken-san come home early?" She walked over and unlocked the door, "Ichijouji household… how can I…" Miyako's eyes widened, "Daisuke-san?"

Hikari immediately sat up, and she turned to see Daisuke standing in the entrance with some flowers. Despite all that happened between them in the Dark Ocean, she hid instinctively.

"Are those flowers for me?" Miyako giggled.

"Oh, no, s-sorry, I was told that Hikari was here?"

"Yes, she is, she is very much here," Miyako gleefully pulled Daisuke inside the apartment. "How about this, I need to go shopping and may take… TWO HOURS… and Ken won't be home for another five hours. So make yourself at home. Bye."

Hikari blushed and gritted her teeth at Miyako, knowing full well what she was doing.

"Wait, I…" Daisuke said as Miyako casually grabbed her purse and stroller. She waved off not answering as she exited the apartment. Daisuke sighed before looking at the flowers.

"D-Dai-kun?" Hikari spoke up.

Daisuke jumped a bit and turned towards the couch. Hikari got up, unable to look at him in the eye at first. As she did, Daisuke chuckled and presented the flowers, "I bought you these. I thought they would work as an apology for me being busy and not showing up."

Hikari crossed her arms and smiled, "I mean… I wasn't going to get mad at you after all we said."

Daisuke rubbed the back of his neck. Hikari sighed and walked over, taking the flowers and saying, "maybe we should put these in water. They do look lovely."

"Y-yeah," Daisuke said as he followed Hikari to the kitchen. Hikari got an empty face and filled it with water before placing the flowers.

"Good to see you though, you are feeling better right?"

"Yeah," Daisuke chuckled, "I was a bit tired coming back from the Dark Ocean, but that went away after a nap." He said as Hikari nodded, "I-I was at my parents place actually. I didn't get to visit them when I moved in with you and the fight… Yamato in the hospital and Jun worrying… didn't want to bring so much chaos as I knew you… you were dealing with… um… everything on your end."

Hikari smiled a bit, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, I mean…" Daisuke cheeks got red, "okay, I don't want to hide anything, but… it feels weird having you like me." Hikari's eyes widened, "no, no, no! Not like I hate it. I just… the last time you liked me it was your birthday and then you know I was gone. So, I never learned what to do."

Hikari couldn't help, but to smile and giggle. She shrugged and said, "I don't know… what feel right to do?"

Daisuke paused, "t-talk about it?"

Hikari reached over and grabbed his hand, "then let's talk about it." She guided him to the couch as she sat down on one side, he sat down on the other.

"So, my name is Hikari Yagami. I have a loving daughter named Miyuki Motomiya. And I am a single mother." Daisuke blinked, confused. "You said you wanted to talk about it. There is my… description."

"Oh, I am Daisuke Motomiya. I am single too."

Hikari leaned her head on the couch, "I like a lot of things. Cats are my favorite animal. I want to one day be a teacher. You?"

"I work for Digital Force, and I want to one day open a noodle shop. I mean I hope to…" Daisuke's cheeks got red, "is there someone you like?"

Hikari smiled wide, "oh, there is. He is tall and quiet, but he used to be loud. He's still fun though. He is like… the cutest boy I have ever known. And I have a little secret about him…" she leaned over and whispered, "he's the father of my child." She could see Daisuke get flustered, "you?"

"There's someone. I think she's the cutest girl I ever met. I feel nervous talking about her because I don't want to say the wrong thing…" Daisuke said nervously as Hikari looked at him curiously. "I think she's… kind of sexy…"

"Yeah, that'll do it," Hikari said before moving towards Daisuke. She straddled him and said, "you… make me feel sexy," she said touching his cheek.

Daisuke looked at her in the eye before looking down, "you… make me feel lucky that someone like you likes me."

"I like you a lot," Hikari leaned against him, "love even…" she lifted his chin to face her. Their lips so close to touching.

"I want to be honest. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong just… going for it. Just going for this," Daisuke admitted.

Hikari bit her lip, "maybe in another circumstance this is highly inappropriate. But we made a child together and saved each other multiple times. I think we're past formalities." Hikari giggled and when Daisuke chuckled back, she felt an excited shiver down her spine. She paused, looking at him right in the eye. "I want to kiss, but is it right…?"

Daisuke leaned in and pressed his lips against hers. She shifted ever so slightly to make sure the kiss was deep. When Daisuke moved back, both looked at each other. Hikari rubbed his cheek gently as he answered, "I don't think so…"

Hikari bit her lip and giggled, "dummy," she leaned to kiss him again. This time opening her mouth to allow him to kiss her back deeply. Their tongues instantly wrapped around each other. He wrapped his arms around her, and she melted. She kissed him and he kissed her. And they kissed, each kiss more passionate until Hikari finally gasped out. "Sorry, I never thought I would be kissed like that again."

"It's okay," Daisuke said, "me neither."

Hikari traced her fingers on his knuckles, she glanced over and could see small faint scars on them.

Daisuke leaned forward and Hikari put her chest against his face. Lovingly holding him and moving her chest just enough to make him know this was okay.

Daisuke sighed, "I should… be honest."

Hikari stopped, Daisuke looked up as Hikari still pressed him between her chest.

Daisuke continued, "I should tell you what happened to me those five years before we go any further."

She could feel him slid back to a proper sitting position. She still straddled him, but she was careful to give him the distance. She saw him take deep breath before presenting his collared shirt. Hikari gulped as she looked at the buttons. "I will only take off two…"

"Yeah, please," Daisuke sighed gently.

Hikari carefully unbuttoned the first button, Daisuke let out a deep breath. As if this button has been suffocating him. She traced her down to the next button, moving his shirt so slightly. The second button felt heavy, she almost knew what was behind it, but it's been so long waiting for the answer that it almost scared her. What if he was lying and just left? But she knew that was wrong. As she unbuttoned the second button, she paused.

This is where Miyako will come in having completed her shopping. Or Ken would come in wanting to look for his wife. This is where the phone will ring and it be Miyuki missing Hikari. Something was going to make this stop, right?

And Hikari then opened the shirt more.

The worst was finally confirmed and for some reason it was a relief to her and Daisuke. She saw scars, lots of them. Even with only removing two buttons, he was riddled with them. Some scars so faint that the lighting in an angle would reveal them. Some so apparent it made her shiver.

Hikari traced her fingers on each small scar she could see.

Daisuke finally said something again, "I was taken. I was taken…" he repeated as if he couldn't believe he got to say it.

Hikari kept on tracing her fingers against his scars, "they tortured you…"

"Yeah," Daisuke said before his face was lifted by Hikari. "Hikari-hime…" Hikari pushed her lips against his. He kissed back. She felt his grip grow weaker. She slid from straddling him and sat beside him. His head immediately went to her lap as he laid there.

At first silent, then shivered. Hikari combed his hair with her fingers. She saw him shake uncontrollably for a moment before closing his eyes.

"Dai-kun…" Hikari continued to comb his hair, noticing he was asleep. Hikari closed her eyes too, leaning forward for a moment. And at that moment, she felt like she was free falling.

Her eyes opened wide as she was still sitting on the couch with Daisuke laying his head on her lap. She went to touch his cheek, but suddenly heard a voice. "I didn't think I would get to talk to you."

Hikari winced and looked forward, seeing a woman with a white robe and dark hair. Hikari froze before the woman said, "I know this may sound strange, but my name is Veth. I am… I am technically a ghost." Hikari stared as Veth asked, "are you not scared?"

"Oh, I mean… I… I always had this weird connection to something deeper. But a ghost is just… I didn't think one would try to talk to me…"

Veth shrugged, "ghost is the best explanation. If you want to know the truth, I am someone who is part of Daisuke's power of Sun and Moon. I was just once alive."

Hikari looked down and touched Daisuke's face, "you're here for a reason…"

Veth turned around, "I am here to tell you what happened to Daisuke in those five years."

Hikari froze for a moment, she looked down at Daisuke. "H-He already told me."

Veth nodded, "but he won't tell you everything, not immediately. I mean I wouldn't blame him. I will tell you and show you what happened to him. More precisely, what they did to him."

Hikari raised a brow, "what they did… torture?"

Veth presented her hand, "if you trust me. I want to show you everything. You earned the right to know." Hikari paused again, looking at Daisuke. She gave a silent apology before reaching for Veth's hand. In an instant, she was standing up in a dark void with Veth. "Let me ask you… do you know what multiverse is…?"

Hikari suddenly saw rays of light form into branches. "K-Koushiro-san once said that there is chance other universes exist. Some like ours. Some different, but still connected. I-I didn't think much of it."

Veth walked around the expanding tree of light. "He isn't wrong. There are multiple universes. Digimon in this world are monsters made of data. In other worlds, they are living creatures. In others, they were ever only a concept of a video game." Veth grabbed one branch and presented it to Hikari. Hikari grabbed the branch and saw a flash of herself sharing a bed with Takeru.

"For example, in this world Digimon never existed. You simply went to school and fell in love with Takeru-san. You're both married in this world by now. Annia doesn't exist… and neither does a lot of other people including Daisuke."

Hikari let go of the branch as she returned back to look at the tree of light.

Veth continued, "I am telling you this to understand some things may sound outside of the realm of what you know as Digimon or the Digital World. It may sound supernatural or 'holy'."

Hikari nodded, "no, I understand. It just means what seems strange in one world may not be in another. The Dark Ocean and BelialVamdemon's world of dreams... both felt... different."

"Correct," Veth smiled, "let me be clear, I am from another universe entirely. I think I exist in yours, but I might be some American girl that never met any of the Chosen Children. In my world, it's different, Digimon don't exist. But now onto how I know Daisuke-san."

Veth raised her hand as suddenly the image of Daisuke with the blue moon and orange sun eyes appeared. "Sun and Moon…"

"Those eyes…" Hikari whispered.

"I'll spare you the long details. These are one of the strongest powers in all the multiverses. The power of the Sun is to create. And the power of the Moon is to destroy. Long ago, in another universe, three children created the power of the eyes and spread them out. Through centuries of different users, it would one day lead to Daisuke... your Daisuke. Of course, the power was desired by many… I'll get to that later…"

Hikari looked down, "Daisuke… but why? Why him? Why did he get both?"

Veth shrugged, "hard to know why. Probability and chance. Multiple realities of Daisuke exist. Heck, there is a timeline where Daisuke went through the same thing as yours did, but he didn't have the power of the eyes. Still, your Daisuke is the one who got the power of Sun and Moon. Thus making him a target…"

"A target… for who?"

Veth frowned, "the power was detected many times in many different worlds. The Koushiro you know once detected it, correct?" Veth asked.

Hikari nodded and said, "he said it was a strange power source that didn't create the crest… but enhanced…" Hikari remembered the way Daisuke used it in the fight with Dagomon. "Enhanced…"

Veth nodded back, "it is a strong power. Many universes detected it too when someone in their world possessed it. But, a group of people in particular decided to hunt it down. You see… the power to create and destroy sounds and is limitless. Anyone who can control such a power can do whatever they want. The group's name is Celestial Hunters, there are four members, but we will focus on one. Waru." Veth was monotone the whole time, but even Hikari could hear venom when saying his name.

"Any questions before I move further…?"

"Yeah, you said you want to tell me. How are you so sure Dai-kun won't?"

Veth looked down, "I don't want him to. He shouldn't relive what happened to him. He's kind and caring. He's warm and giving."

Hikari stood there silently, not knowing what to say. She could only agree.

Veth then moved her arm and manifested Daisuke who was sleeping on the ground. Suddenly a stream of bubbles and broken shards began to line up. "These are Daisuke's memories. The bubbles are the happy or neutral memories. The broken shards the unhappy ones. The smaller the bubble or shard, the more neutral, the larger the bubble and shard, the more intense."

Veth moved her hand and lined up a line of bubbles with some shards. "These are of the first 17 years of his life. Before he was taken by Waru." Hikari looked at them, mostly staring at the bubbles. Veth smiled and leaned over, pointing at the largest bubble. "That's the one of the night you two shared, if you're wondering."

Hikari's eyes sparkled with joy seeing it was the largest bubble. The small shards did catch her attention, a good amount of them appearing around the time the Digimon were not allowed on Earth, which made sense.

"These are usually what memories look like. A bunch of bubbles with a few shards. Yours would look similar I would imagine." Veth waved her hand as the bubbles and shards went away. Hikari's eyes widened as suddenly a line of giant shards appeared. "These are of the five years he was gone."

"They're all shards," Hikari commented.

"They were not of a happy time… frankly, it's not exactly a time I want to show you, but I have to. I want you to understand Daisuke-san."

Hikari looked over, "why?"

Veth clenched her fist, "he deserves to be understood. I believe you're the only one that can make him happy right now."

Hikari looked at Veth's clenched fist before asking, "so what, am I going to experience five years of his life?"

Veth shook her head, "I am not going to show you everything. I am only going to show you what you need to see and tell you what you need to hear. This is to understand Daisuke's feelings. It will… hurt… if it gets too much, please tell me. Are you ready?"

Hikari glanced at the image of a sleeping Daisuke and then at the giant shards above him. "I am ready."

With that, Veth gently grabbed Hikari's hand and a light engulfed them both.

"Where are we?" Hikari looked around before realizing she was in her room when she was seventeen. She looked to see two people in bed with each other. "This is…" she said before seeing a seventeen-year-old Daisuke wake up.

"This is the day after you and Daisuke had intercourse," Veth added, Hikari cheeks went red at the comment.

Hikari saw Daisuke get dressed, clearly not noticing her standing in the same room. "Why this memory?" Hikari saw Daisuke make his way to the bathroom. He didn't even turn on the light.

"This is the day Daisuke-san was taken. I thought it be appropriate to show you this. I know this has caused you a lot of pain afterwards."

Hikari followed Daisuke as she saw him sitting on the toilet, "I didn't even tell her—." He stopped and leaned back, looking up.

Veth walked over, "he didn't know what to say to you. He didn't know how to act afterwards. I think you already guessed that. To him, the greatest thing just happened. He just made love with someone he really liked."

Hikari smiled and Daisuke got up, she could see it in his face. He wanted to return to bed with her. But her face dropped to dread. He never came back to bed with her. She saw a pitch-black portal appear behind him.

"No," Hikari whispered before seeing multiple hands reach and grab Daisuke.

He first tugged away from them. He gritted his teeth in shock, but then Daisuke heard, "Dai-kun" in the other room. Hikari remembered, she just woke up. He never ever wanted to leave her, he wanted to be with her when she woke up.

"Daisuke-san did not want to risk putting you in harm so he accepted being taken…" Veth said as then the world went black, "I will give you the same warning. If it gets difficult, don't be afraid to ask me to stop."

Hikari saw a prison in a dark void appear. Veth touched the bars, "this world is a dead world. A pocket dimension as many would call it. It was a prison world and Daisuke was sent here." Veth turned to Hikari who stared at Daisuke sitting in a cell, shackled.

"Waru was the man who took Daisuke. He was part of a group, Celestial Hunters. In their world, they were Hunters looking for world-altering powers. They discovered the power of the Sun and Moon. Waru specifically wanted to find it. He wanted to transcend the world's limitations. In short, Waru became obsessed and disbanded from the group. He began to go mad for his search. He became a depraved man… he began to take people from other worlds who he suspected could help him find Daisuke or help him break him."

Hikari turned to see the cell Veth was looking at. Veth, the 'ghost', was staring at herself when she was still alive. "Waru did this for a couple years until he finally found the holder of Sun and Moon. But there was an issue, if Waru could get his way, he would have just killed Daisuke-san and taken the power. But he couldn't, it would disappear and the search would become endless. So, he decided to control it, but that meant controlling Daisuke."

Hikari heard someone begin to whistle. "Waru created hell, but he was not alone in creating it," Veth said. Hikari turned to see a long black-haired woman who had a whip beside her. "Her name is Ascura… you're going to have to get used to her quick. She's going to be the main torturer of Daisuke."

"What? She tortured him mainly?"

Veth glared at Ascura, "yes and she enjoyed it. Daisuke was her favorite as she would say."

Hikari glared at Ascura who walked past them and leaned over at Daisuke's cell. "Hey, Daisuke-san, was it?" Ascura asked, "smile at me, would you?" Daisuke didn't even look at her. Ascura frowned, "quiet huh, Waru-sama is being very kind to you. But let me tell you this… if you don't use the power of Sun and Moon soon. I'm going to break you, and I will break you."

Daisuke glared down, still not facing her. Ascura said loudly to the rows of cells, "you hear that. Daisuke-san, the special boy, wants to be difficult. I'll break him. And when I do, I want you all to laugh at his cries."

Hikari seethed glaring at Ascura who walked away giggling to herself.

"She's going to break you," a voice in the distance said. Hikari turned to the voice, it was far away, but it continued, "she's going to break you…"

Veth grabbed Hikari's hand, "come on… time for the next memory."

Hikari looked to see the scene changed. Now it was the same void world, she turned, and her eyes widened immediately. She gasped and collapsed to the ground as tears formed in the corner of her eyes. "Dai-kun…"

It was Daisuke, shirtless and hanging with his wrists chained up. But that wasn't the worst of it. His torso and arms were riddled with scars and cuts. Both old and fresh cuts that bled. Daisuke had a malnourished look by now, his ribs clearly showing making the scars more prominent. He was still breathing.

Hikari somehow had the strength to get up and reach for him.

Veth glanced at the attempt, "this was by the end of the first year of Daisuke being here. He didn't break. He couldn't break. Ascura beat him relentlessly. She took joy in it and did everything she could to make him scream. At one point, he just didn't anymore. And she made it a game to make him scream again."

Hikari, with tears streaming down, said, "no, this isn't where you should have been…" suddenly she heard a door open aggressively. She looked back and her eyes widened in pure horror. Ascura was there with a man pulling a pot of boiling water.

"Daisuke-kun!" Ascura sang and it sickened Hikari the way he said. "Today is a special day! It's the one-year anniversary of when you were made my pet." Never has Hikari felt hatred for anyone more than she did Ascura. And what sickened her is that she was doing this in Hikari 18th birthday. At this point, she cursed Daisuke that he would never return because she believed he left.

Ascura went over and grabbed Daisuke's face.

Hikari snapped, "let go of him!" She screamed. It was a memory, it already happened, but she couldn't help herself.

"Hikari-san," Veth walked over and grabbed Hikari's shoulder to stop her from yelling.

"You know what I hate about you, Daisuke-kun," Ascura whispered into his ear, "you were so much fun when we began. Every time I cracked a bone you would scream and whimper. And now… I cut you and barely move. So, I'll make you a deal. Whimper… beg… beg me to not hurt you right now."

Daisuke didn't say a word, didn't even look at Ascura's direction or reacted to her words. Ascura held his face hard, her nails digging into Daisuke's face.

"Ma'am," the assistant spoke, "if I do recommend, maybe we don't go ahead with the…" and suddenly the assistant was slapped away by Ascura. Shocking Hikari and even getting Daisuke's attention.

"Let me make this clearer for you!" Ascura pulled out a boiling hot blade. "Beg for me to not hurt you! Or I will cut you with this!"

Daisuke looked at the fallen assistant and then at Ascura. As the blade still had intense steam coming off, Daisuke glared before turning away.

Ascura raised the blade and slashed at Daisuke's torso down the middle with it. It sizzled against his skin and Daisuke's eyes widened before he screamed out in agony.

Hikari covered her mouth with tears flowing down. Horrified of seeing Daisuke being burned and cut. His blood from the wound dripped down as Ascura threw the blade to the ground angrily. "Damn it! Heal him! Where is Waru!? I'm sick and tired of holding back."

Hikari was left speechless seeing Daisuke slouch down from his wound. His body was shaking, but his face still, emotionless. As if he learned to endure the pain instantly after screaming out.

The assistant got up with a bloody mouth and said, "you poor bastard."

"Dai-kun…" Hikari looked at Daisuke who still breathed, his eyes tired as the wound continued to bleed.

The memory disappeared and Hikari was seeing the current Daisuke sleeping with the shards above him. Hikari wiped her eyes from the tears and looked at Veth who was seemingly doing the same.

Once Veth was done wiping her eyes, "that's what they did to Daisuke in terms of scarring him. The physical torture did not yield success. Daisuke was literally unbreakable in that aspect. Ascura did other methods too, slower methods. I won't show them as they are truly grueling, but she liked using temperature to torture. You luckily can't feel it, but that pocket world did not produce cold. It was hot and suffocating at times. Ascura put Daisuke in special designed cold rooms and put back in rooms with boiling water. I think you noticed it… how Daisuke doesn't really feel heat and cold. He can wear long sleeve shirts without breaking a sweat and doesn't have to wear a ton of clothes to endure the cold."

Hikari couldn't believe what she was hearing. All the pain he went through. Her mind began to regret how she treated him. She looked back, "what's next?"

Veth looked down, "I don't want to tell you what is next, but you need to know. I won't show you… Daisuke-san would never forgive me if you saw even a little bit."

Hikari froze, shivering. Something worse than Daisuke being torn apart? It felt impossible, but Hikari began to guess what it was.

Veth turned with a saddened look, "Daisuke-san does care for you. And you will always be his first and only…"

Hikari's heart skipped a beat in horror, "he was… r-raped?"

Veth turned away and nodded. "May I continue…?"

Hikari gulped, "yes."

Veth could be seen sighing, "Ascura… liked forcing Daisuke-san. Making him do things and doing things to him. He never liked it, ever. Not a single moment. She was twisted. She pretended to be loving. She touched in ways only two people who truly love each other should touch and then mocked him for it. She would be 'gentle', but it was all a game and her brutality will be shown afterwards. She wasn't the only one, but she was… the one who did the most. Daisuke-san never buckled though, I began to talk to him because Ascura did it to a lot of people. Me included. He refused to even hint at saying Ascura's name during her acts. Waru allowed all of this. He wanted Daisuke-san to break in order to have a husk that he could control. That was the first two years."

Hikari shivered, "only the first two years?"

"The third and fourth year is probably the most difficult for Daisuke-san. Waru had no use for 'us' when he found Daisuke… until now. Some of us died before then, but the ones that didn't… were forced… to hurt Daisuke. And Daisuke was forced to hurt them."

Hikari looked at Veth's guilty face, her eyes watering. "Daisuke-san could take pain, but he couldn't cause it. They played games with us. Daisuke sometimes had to choose between hurting us or being tortured and he always chose to be tortured. They got crueler. A lot of the prisoners would die, and Waru blamed Daisuke-san to try to break him…"

Hikari looked at Veth, "d-did you die?"

Veth took a deep breath, "the assistants were cruel, and I was just… my fate was a result of that cruelty. I thought it was a blessing to be freed, in the end, I woke up again. I was… I was like a part of Daisuke-san. The others were too. At the time we didn't know what was going on, but we were becoming one with the Sun and Moon power he had dormant."

Hikari could faintly see other people standing behind Veth for a moment. "Soon, all the prisoners were dead. Daisuke was the only one left. Waru grew desperate because of this."

Veth lifted her arm as the scene began to change. Daisuke was in his cell, he was malnourished. His scars now all closed, but visible. Daisuke had a haggard look, but still had life in his eyes.

An assistant walked to the other side of the cell, it wasn't Ascura.

"Where is Ascura?" Hikari asked.

Veth shrugged, "I don't know. She disappeared right around this time…"

The assistant chuckled, "Daisuke-san, I have some good news for you. Waru-san knows you don't like being lonely. So we thought about bringing other prisoners here for you." Daisuke's eyes winced, but he sat still to not allow himself to buckle in front of them.

The assistant leaned against the cell bars, "I don't think you understand. Let me be clear… I thought Ascura was your first, but she wasn't. It was… Hikari-chan."

Daisuke's eyes widened slowly as he turned to the assistant.

"We didn't know how close you were to the Chosen Children." Daisuke was unblinking, looking at the assistant who continued to taunt. "Some of them seem like fine women! You don't mind sharing…?"

The assistant stopped talking and looked at Daisuke. Both looking at each other in the eye. Hikari observed something she had never seen before: pure bloodlust in Daisuke's eyes. And like a heartbeat, Daisuke's eyes changed to the blue moon and orange sun.

Another assistant was walking down the empty hallway of cells whistling. "Hey, come on, we need to go…" he turned a corner and saw a splatter of blood in the middle hallway of cells. "H-hey…"

Suddenly, a cell door opened and Daisuke stepped out of his cell. He looked down at the pile of blood. "I didn't mean to make it a mess, but…" he turned to look at the assistant with his blue moon and orange sun eyes, "like I give a shit what I do to you sick fucks."

Hikari watched as the assistant was instantly crushed into a pile of blood. Daisuke began to walk slowly down the rows of empty cells.

Veth grabbed Hikari's hand, "Daisuke is going to kill everyone left in this pocket world…"

Hikari looked at Daisuke who still marched on before turning a corner. "I want to see when he escapes…"

Veth nodded, "it happens soon after..." The scene began to change. The jail cells that once housed innocent prisoners were in rubble. The whole pocket dimension seemed to be consumed by flames.

Hikari looked at all the destruction and had a silent moment of catharsis. This hell world that kept Daisuke from her was now in literal flames. She turned to see a silhouette of someone standing over another person on the ground.

It was Daisuke standing over Waru.

Hikari was astonished looking at Waru. This was the man who caused all of this. And he looked plain, pathetic even. She glared at him, but she wanted to laugh at him. She was almost sickened that this man was just a pathetic balding old man.

"Wait," Waru spoke out putting his hand up at Daisuke. "Your eyes… you have finally been able to summon the Sun and Moon. Daisuke-san! This is good!" Waru screamed out in clear panic, "this means it was all worth it. Your torture… now you are the strongest being in many worlds!" Daisuke didn't say a word, only glared. "You don't get it do you! You can do so much!"

"The people's whose lives you ruined. The years of their life are never getting back. And then… you threatened me with the people you tore me away from…" Daisuke stepped forward, "killing you is a mercy. Torturing… is a mercy… I want you know despair…"

"Don't… don't you dare!" Waru scrambled to move, but his legs were twisted off the limbs.

"You know what I learned. I can create whatever I want and break it. Did you know if a soul breaks, the person dies. It's quite painful. So, pick one to answer… how many souls can I create or how many souls can I break?"

"Please!" Waru screamed with tears falling from his eyes.

"The answer is how many people died here. Burn in hell." Daisuke said coldly as both his shined. Waru suddenly stopped and fell back in pure silence, simply still. It was the same way Dagomon froze in the Dark Ocean. The fire slowly began to surround his still body, as if the flames were vultures ready to consume a dying animal.

Daisuke on the other hand began to slowly walk away from it all. The world that brought him hell for the past five years. It was all burning behind him. Hikari and Veth followed him. Daisuke kept on walking until he was far enough away from the burning prison that looked like an orange dot in the distance.

Daisuke collapsed to the ground, Hikari, despite knowing better, still reached to catch him.

Daisuke was laying on the ground, taking deep breaths. His eyes slowly closing as he let out, "I'm sorry, everyone… I couldn't make it out." As his eyes closed shut, Hikari wondered before seeing Veth beside him. It took her a moment, but she realized she wasn't seeing the Veth that has been talking to her. It was the Veth of the memory.

Hikari then noticed different people, different prisoners surrounding Daisuke in a circle. Suddenly the ground below him made a magical-like circle. It was the symbol of the Sun.

Hikari saw a flashing light as she covered her eyes.

When the light faded, Hikari looked to see they weren't in the black void prison world, but instead a field of tall grass. She looked and noticed the bright colorful night sky. She then turned to see Daisuke laying in the field of grass, comfortable.

"You brought him back…?" Hikari turned to Veth.

"It was… something we all wanted." Veth said looking at Daisuke with warm eyes. "He never tried to hurt us and always blamed himself. Daisuke-san… was… is… a miracle of a person." Veth smiled.

Hikari looked and saw the world return to the white void where the current Daisuke was laying, asleep. The stream of shards ended, and a small bubble was formed. Veth pointed at the bubble, "Daisuke would wake up and realize he was back home. First thing he did was return home."

Hikari turned to Veth who said, "that is everything about where Daisuke was. The reason I… we… showed you this because you make him happy. And we want him to be happy. This is goodbye, this is our final wish, to make sure someone knows what Daisuke been through and can comfort him."

Hikari saw Veth begin to fade, "um, t-thank you!" Hikari put her hand on her chest. "I thank you so much for this! I promise I will love him from here on out with all my heart. I hope that if you all can be reincarnated that one day have a happy moment with Daisuke-san of any world."

Veth, as she was fading, gave tearful smile, "thank you…"

Suddenly a bright light surrounded Hikari once again. She blinked and realized she was awake. She was sitting on Miyako's couch and Daisuke still laying on her lap, sleeping quietly. Hikari got a tearful smile seeing him so comfortable in his sleep. She combed his hair, "Dai-kun, I never got to tell you this. But welcome home."

Author's Note: Alright, I'm about to explain why I went the route I did for this chapter. Why what happened with Daisuke happened? Unless you are not aware, Starful is a sequel to Starless. When I made Starless, I more or less planned out Starful. At the time it was 2018 and I had a different mindset for things. I thought of a large scope with my works. This all made sense to me then. Well, in short, the end of Starless made it clear Daisuke was missing and gone. Obviously, he did not leave intentionally and I needed to give him a reason for being gone. This... this chapter was planned since 2018. Yes, everything from the extreme torture to the sexual assault of Daisuke... all of it was planned then. To tell you the truth, I could have changed it, but I didn't want to. Both Starless and Starful has been about overcoming obstacles. The original title of the series was Unbreakable/Breakable. That is the theme that both Hikari and Daisuke are either... Now I do want to say this does not devoid me of criticism. It does not make content 'okay'. This chapter may ruin the story thus the multiple endings comment from last chapter. If you want to consider this chapter not canon... that is alright with me. Whether you enjoyed this chapter or hate it or want to criticize it, all opinions are valid.

Now there may be a second mindset. The Sun and Moon power (made up by me btw) and mention of different universe/multiverse... "what happened there? It felt like it was dropped out of no where". Relating to my previous point, I planned this since 2018. So to talk about the scope. I was going to make 3 different fanfics running at the same time. Starful/Starless, Fanfic B, Fanfic C... Fanfic B and Fanfic C were supposed to be different from Starful and Starless. They weren't going to be Daikari, be more adventurous or more fantasy... what happened? Well didn't get to write both and Fanfic C was going to go on for a LONG TIME before it made sense. And what I mean by that is that the reveal of this chapter multiverse concept was going to connect Starful with Fanfic B and Fanfic C. I finished Starless back then and this was the plan. Well, what happened is that Fanfic C was going to be too bloated to handle and keep up and I did not feel like writing Fanfic B... so I had Starless completed and Starful ready... I will admit that I could have backed down and rewrote Starless where Daisuke stayed and FIGURED something out, but I essentially stuck to my guns. Admittedly, this chapter was the one I was dreading the most... and by all means, I could have dropped the entire Sun and Moon/Daisuke missing storyline... But I wanted to complete Starful enough. Same as before... explaining isn't me trying to devoid myself of criticism. It's simply answering the "why".

Would I consider making a version of Starless or Starful where the Sun and Moon are dropped from the plot... maybe but you'll see it would have turned into a romcom slice of life very quickly. Not saying the next chapters won't be. Not to advertise it, but I did release a version of what Fanfic B was supposed to be with "Echoes"... so maybe the multiverse reveal WAS worth it, I'm joking haha!

Thank you all who have stuck around though. This is the turning point of Starful. The Sun and Moon power will stick around and there will be things relating to it and this chapter's content. There are multiple endings for this and/or if you want to continue, but if just want to... ignore this chapter... that's fine. There's Ending A in Starless which makes it a short story. Ending B which ends the romance storyline. There is Ending C which ends the Daisuke missing storyline...

Responding to Kasumi Mist: First off thank you for sticking with Starless and Starful! I hope this chapter answered all the questions lol I swear this chapter was planned out before you made your comment, but yeah!

Responding to zzkaizer: Yes! There will be multiple Endings! It is inspired by Nier Automata, but no alternate endings. Just endings for different points in the series.
