Episode 3: "The Gang Back Together"

[The episode begins with Marcus, Keenan, and the rest of the Digimon arriving through the Digital Dive at the police headquarters.]

Marcus: [joyfully] Guess who's back?!

[Kristy calls his name, runs to him, and gives him a hug.]

Kristy: [hugging him] I've missed you so much!

Marcus: [grinning] I've missed you too, Kristy.

[Commander Sampson, Miki, and Megumi all welcome Marcus back.]

Commander Sampson: [nodding] It's good to have you back, Marcus. You've been missed.

Miki: [smiling] We're so glad you're home! It's been a while.

Megumi: [grinning] You certainly know how to make an entrance, don't you?

[Thomas and Gaomon run toward each other and hug.]

Thomas: [happily] I've missed you, Gaomon!

Gaomon: [nodding] Same here, Thomas. It feels like it's been forever.

[Thomas then walks over to Marcus with a smile.]

Thomas: [grinning] It's good to have you back, buddy.

[They high-five and then hug.]

Lalamon: [looking around] I wonder where Yoshi is... I need to see her.

[Lalamon finds Yoshi sitting outside the room.]

Lalamon: [gently] Yoshi? Are you okay?

Yoshi: [smiling softly] Yeah, I'm fine. Just... didn't expect Marcus to actually come back. He hasn't changed at all.

Lalamon: [sympathetically] I know it's strange. Everyone's back together again. But things will be the way they were, with time.

Yoshi: [nodding] You're right. It'll be fine. [pauses] It's just... a lot to take in.

[Yoshi stands up and walks with Lalamon back to the office.]

[In the office, Kristy asks Marcus where Biyomon is.]

Kristy: [curiously] So where's Biyomon? I haven't seen him yet.

Marcus: [smiling] He's still back on his side of the Digital World, protecting the Digimon there. But he sends his regards.

[Marcus suddenly feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns around and sees Yoshi.]

Yoshi: [smiling] Hey, Marcus, do you have a moment?

Marcus: [grinning] Sure, let's talk.

[They walk outside and sit on a bench.]

Yoshi: [gently] So, how have you been?

Marcus: [jokingly] Oh, you know... just kicking butt in the Digital World. No big deal.

[Yoshi laughs softly.]

Marcus: [smiling] How about you? And... how's working at the police force?

Yoshi: [laughing] I enjoy it, but, of course, Miki and Megumi still annoy me. But I guess I annoy them too.

[They both laugh.]

[The mood shifts as Yoshi starts thinking to herself.]

Yoshi: [thinking] It's weird, isn't it? Marcus seems so happy in the Digital World... but I can't help wondering... Could I be... falling for him? No, no, focus. Don't think about that.

[Yoshi looks up at Marcus and smiles.]

Yoshi: [smiling softly] I didn't think you'd actually come back to be honest. You seemed so happy there.

Marcus: [nodding] Well, there were times when I did feel homesick... but I couldn't leave until the Digital World was fixed. At least now I'm back. And no one's really changed. Especially not you and your soft pink hair.

[Yoshi blushes.]

Yoshi: [playfully] Marcus! Don't make me blush!

[Yoshi playfully slaps him on the shoulder.]

[Kristy walks up to Marcus.]

Kristy: [smiling] You ready to go? We're heading to see your parents.

Marcus: [nodding] Yeah, I'm ready. Bye, Yoshi.

[Marcus waves to Yoshi as he follows Kristy.]

[The screen pans out to reveal two mini half-demons watching from afar.]

Bat Demon: [sinisterly] We've got them... hehe.

Rat Demon: [laughing] Master Dante will be so proud! Come on, let's follow them.

[The scene changes to Marcus' house, where he, Kristy, Spencer, and Sarah are all reunited.]

Spencer: [smiling] It's great to have you back, son. You even gave your mother a shock when you showed up.

Sarah: [emotionally] I still can't believe you're actually here. It doesn't seem real.

Marcus: [smiling warmly] Just being here with you guys... makes me happy.

[Spencer suggests that Marcus get some rest after his long journey.]

Spencer: [thoughtfully] You've had a long journey. You should rest.

Marcus: [grinning] Nah, I'm cooking dinner tonight. I mean, this is our first night back together in five years.

Kristy: [teasing] Since when do you cook? I've never seen you do that— you're always the lazy one.

Marcus: [rolling his eyes] You'll be surprised.

[Back at the police headquarters, Thomas, Yoshi, and Keenan are getting familiar with their new Digimon partners.]

Thomas: [welcoming Ballistamon and Dorulumon] This is gonna be the strongest trio I've ever had!

Yoshi: [complimenting Lilymon] You look just like an older version of Lalamon! You're amazing!

Lilymon: [graciously] Thank you, Yoshi. It's an honor to be partnered with you.

Yoshi: [smiling] And Sparrowmon... you're the cutest Digimon ever!

Sparrowmon: [blushing] Thank you!

[Meanwhile, Keenan is getting to know Orochimon and Eaglemon.]

Falcomon: [joking] Looks like Keenan's got some serious wingpower on his team now!

Keenan: [laughing] You're not wrong about that, Falcomon.

[Miki mumbles under her breath.]

Miki: [muttering] I wish Marcus had bought me two new Digimon to play with!

[Suddenly, the alarm goes off, and Megumi rushes to her computer.]

Megumi: [urgently] There's a demonic signal in area BK90!

Keenan: [concerned] Could it be Dante?

Megumi: [shaking her head] No... it's not Dante. There are two of them.

[Yoshi replays the area in her mind.]

Yoshi: [thinking] Wait... I know where this is. [shouting] THAT'S NEAR MARCUS' HOUSE!

[Yoshi sprints out of the room.]

Thomas and Keenan: [calling after her] Yoshi, wait!

[But Yoshi has already left, and the two chase after her.]

[Back at Marcus' house, the family is enjoying dinner.]

Sarah: [complimenting Marcus] This is almost as good as my cooking.

Kristy: [teasing] You actually did well for once.

Marcus: [grinning] Aww, is my sister jealous?

Kristy: [narrowing her eyes, then smiling] Maybe just a little... but I know it's a joke.

[Marcus gets a call and sees it's from Yoshi.]

Marcus: [picking up] Hello?

Yoshi: [worried] Marcus, is there anyone suspicious near your place?

[Marcus goes outside and looks around.]

Marcus: [confused] No... everything seems just... [suddenly a huge explosion shakes the ground] WHOA!

[Marcus falls back, shocked.]

Yoshi: [frantically] What happened? Are you okay?

Marcus: [breathing heavily] There was a huge explosion down the road. It's... it's bad.

Yoshi: [reassuring] Don't worry, I'm on my way.

[Marcus begins looking for clues when he hears two voices giggling.]

Marcus: [angrily] Who the hell are you?!

Bat Demon: [sinisterly] That's none of your concern, my friend.

[Marcus recognizes the black hair of the Bat Demon.]

Marcus: [realizing] You're Dante's henchmen, aren't you?

Rat Demon: [laughing] That's right, my friend!

Marcus: [growling] Now you'll pay! Agumon, realize!

[Agumon flashes out of the Digivice.]

Agumon: [shouting] Ready for action! Bo- WAHHHHHHHH! WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS?!

Marcus: [surprised] They're Dante's henchmen! Agumon, use your Spitfire Blast!

[Agumon attacks, but the Bat Demon uses its wings to blow the fire out.]

Marcus: [shocked] What the...?! You just... blew it out?!

Agumon: [stunned] That's impossible!

Bat Demon: [mocking] Pathetic.

Bat Demon: [commanding] Ricky, finish them off!

Ricky: [cackling] Prepare to meet your end, human.

Marcus: [grinning] Well, I guess I'll have to... PUNCH YOU!

[Marcus punches Ricky in the face, sending him screaming.]

[Marcus gets his DNA Charge.]

[Yoshi, Thomas, and Keenan arrive just in time.]

Yoshi: [annoyed] I told you to wait, you goofball!

Marcus: [smiling] Aww, sorry, just couldn't help it.

Agumon: [cheerfully] Boss, should we show them how it's done?

Marcus: [grinning] You bet! Get ready, pal.

[Marcus shouts, "Agumon, Starmon, Picmonz, DNA Fusion Charge!"]

Agumon: [shouting] Agumon, Digifuse to... Shinegreymon X2!

[Thomas expresses his amazement.]

Thomas: [amazed] Wow... that new Digivolution is incredible. All that time in the Digital World really paid off.

Marcus: [smiling] Practice makes perfect, my friend.

[Marcus orders Shinegreymon to use his Starmon Sword.]

Shinegreymon: [commanding] Prepare to meet your doom!

[Suddenly, a bolt of lightning strikes from the sky, knocking Shinegreymon's sword from his hand. The shock also catches his wrist, causing him to scream.]

Shinegreymon: [screaming] AAAAHH! My wrist!

Marcus: [angrily] You again!

[They look up to see Dante.]

Dante: [laughing] You fool! Thinking you can defeat me!

Ricky: [yelling] RAT INFESTATION!

Ralph: [yelling] KUNAI BATWING!

[Just as the demons are about to attack, two new voices shout.]

Voices: [shouting] ROBO AVALANCHE! BABY BREATH!

[The attacks knock out Ricky and Ralph.]

Dante: [shocked] WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

Yoshi: [looking around] Even I didn't see who or what it was.

Ralph: [fearful] Boss, we have to retreat!

Dante: [growling] This isn't over, Damon!

[Dante, Ricky, and Ralph retreat.]

Thomas: [looking around] Who... was that?

Keenan: [shouting] Look up there!

[The group looks up to see two Digimon creatures and a human form in the shadows. They disappear.]

Yoshi: [quietly] Who were they?

[Back at DATS, Marcus, Yoshi, Thomas, and Keenan explain everything.]

Marcus: [explaining] So these two demons, Ricky and Ralph, are working for Dante. They were trying to finish us off.

Yoshi: [adding] And someone mysterious helped us... I couldn't see them, but they were strong.

Commander Sampson: [calm but stern] Enough! We've got more important matters to deal with. I'll look into the mysterious human and Digimon. Focus on Dante and his henchmen for now.

[The gang obeys, saying thank you before leaving.]

[Commander Sampson waits a few minutes before speaking to someone.]

Commander Sampson: [seriously] You can come out now.

[A young girl steps out, looking similar to the shadow from earlier.]

Young Girl: [curiously] Why did you make me hide, Uncle Sampson?

Commander Sampson: [smiling] Because they can't know about you yet, Meke. You need their full trust before you can join DATS. And I think I know just how you can earn that trust...
