Kyle's group stood in the dimly lit remains of the church, their flashlights casting long shadows that danced across the crumbling walls. The air was heavy with dust, and every creak of the structure felt ominous, as if the building itself were holding its breath. Tension rippled through the group, unspoken but palpable.

Wendy: "We've been over this area three times," Wendy said, her voice sharp with frustration. "If there's a way to open that altar, it's not going to magically appear."

(Jessica hugged her arms tightly, her flashlight beam trembling)

Jess: "Maybe… maybe there isn't a way. What if they're just trapped down there for good?"

Kyle: "They're not trapped for good," Kyle said firmly, his jaw tightening. "We're missing something. There has to be a mechanism or a switch somewhere. Whoever set this up wouldn't have made it a dead end."

(Evan, leaning casually against a half-collapsed pew, let out a low whistle)

Evan: "Or maybe that's exactly what they want us to think. You know, run around in circles while time's ticking."

(Wendy shot him a glare)

Wendy: "If you're not going to help, Evan, don't bother talking."

(Evan raised his hands defensively, his trademark smirk softening)

Evan: "Alright, alright. Don't get your nickers in a twist. I'm helping, I'm helping."

Kyle ignored their bickering, focusing his beam on the altar itself. The intricate carvings and worn edges told a story of years of decay, but there was something purposeful about its design. He ran his fingers along the edges, searching for anything that felt out of place.

Kyle: "It has to be here," he murmured to himself. "Somewhere…"

(Jessica voice wavered)

Jess: "What if… what if the explosion Tweek talked about before sealed it for good? What if there's nothing left to find?"

Wendy: "There's always something," Wendy said, her tone more patient now. "We just have to keep looking."

(Evan's voice broke through the tense atmosphere)

Evan: "Hey, uh… guys?" He stepped closer to the altar, his expression unusually serious. "I think I found something."

(Kyle spun around, his flashlight immediately locking onto Evan)

Kyle: "What is it?"

Evan pointed to the base of the altar, where a faint seam was visible in the stonework. He crouched down, brushing away layers of dust to reveal a small, rusted lever.

Evan: "This… this wasn't here before. I swear I didn't see it earlier."

Wendy: "You're kidding," Wendy said, her eyes narrowing as she moved closer. "How did we miss that?"

(Evan shrugged, his smirk returning just slightly)

Evan: "Guess I've got the magic touch."

(Kyle crouched beside him, inspecting the lever)

Kyle: "It's old, but it looks functional. If this is the mechanism…"

Jess: "Then it might open the altar," Jessica finished, her voice tinged with hope.

Wendy: "Or trigger something worse," Wendy added grimly. "We don't know what it's connected to."

(Kyle took a deep breath, his hand hovering over the lever)

Kyle: "We don't have a choice. If this is the only way to get to them, we have to try."

Evan: "No pressure or anything," Evan quipped, stepping back. "Just our friends lives in your hands."

Kyle shot him a glare before gripping the lever tightly. The group held their breath as he pulled it down with a loud, metallic creak. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, a deep rumble echoed through the church, shaking the ground beneath their feet. Dust rained from the ceiling, and the altar began to shift.

Jess: "It's working!" Jessica exclaimed, relief flooding her voice.

But the rumbling didn't stop. It grew louder, more violent, until the ground itself seemed to tremble with fury. Wendy's eyes widened as she looked around.

Wendy: "This isn't just opening something… it's triggering something else!"

Kyle: "Everyone move!" Kyle shouted, his voice barely audible over the deafening roar. The church groaned as if in pain, the walls beginning to crack. Whatever they had just unleashed, it was far more than they bargained for.

The air in the chamber was eerily still as Tweek, Lucas, Megan, and Ace continued their search for answers. The oppressive silence weighed heavily on them, broken only by the faint sound of their footsteps echoing off the damp stone walls. Suddenly, a low rumble reverberated through the chamber, sending small clouds of dust cascading from the ceiling.

Lucas: "What the hell was that?" Lucas asked, his voice tight with unease as he instinctively gripped his flashlight tighter.

Megan: "An earthquake?" Megan suggested, though the doubt in her tone was clear. The rumble grew louder, and the ground beneath them shook violently. Tweek's eyes darted toward the staircase leading up to the altar, where the sound of heavy stone grinding against stone cut through the noise.

Tweek: "The altar!" Tweek exclaimed. "It's opening!"

Without hesitation, the group raced through the long corridor and up the stairs, the rumbling intensifying with every step. As they reached the top, they saw the stone barrier sliding open, revealing the altar's passageway. Beyond it, Kyle, Wendy, Jess, and Evan came into view, sprinting toward them.

Kyle: "Go back!" Kyle shouted, his voice urgent as he waved them off. "It's not safe! The whole church is collapsing!"

Tweek's group froze for a moment, their relief at seeing their friends quickly replaced by the realization of the danger. A loud, deafening crack echoed through the chamber, and a section of the church's ceiling caved in, sending debris crashing down near the entrance.

Wendy: "Move!" Wendy screamed, pushing Jess forward as another section of the church groaned ominously.

Tweek: "Back down!" Tweek yelled, grabbing Megan's arm and pulling her toward the staircase. "We have to go back down!"

The two groups merged as they descended back down into the chamber, the sound of collapsing stone filling their ears. Dust clouded the air, choking their breaths as they stumbled into the relative safety of the lower level. But even there, the rumbling didn't stop. The chamber itself began to quake, with small rocks falling from the ceiling and cracks spreading along the walls.

Wendy: "Is everyone okay?" Wendy asked, her voice strained as she coughed through the dust.

Lucas: "I think so," Lucas replied, glancing around at the group. "But we're trapped now. The whole entrance caved in."

(A loud groan echoed through the chamber as another piece of the ceiling fell, narrowly missing Ace)

Ace: "Not for long," he said grimly. "This place is coming down too!"

(Tweek's flashlight swept over the walls, his heart pounding in his chest)

Tweek: "We'll find another way out. We have to."

As his beam landed on a section of the wall, he noticed a crack running along the walls surface. A chunk of stone had fallen away, revealing the faint outline of what appeared to be a tunnel behind it.

Tweek: "Over here!" Tweek shouted, rushing to the weak wall. He pressed his hand against it, feeling the cool air seeping through the cracks. "There's something behind this. A tunnel!"

Jess: "Are you sure?" Jessica asked, her voice trembling as she approached.

Tweek: "It's our only chance," Tweek said firmly. "Help me break through."

Without hesitation, Lucas, Ace and Jess joined him, using whatever they could find to chip away at the crumbling wall. Kyle, Wendy, Megan and Evan worked to clear the debris from behind them, ensuring no one would be trapped as more dust and small rocks fell around them. The chamber shook again, this time more violently, sending them all to their knees.

Megan: "We don't have much time!" Megan shouted, desperation in her voice.

With one final push, the wall gave way, revealing a narrow, dark tunnel stretching into the unknown. The group stared at it in silence, the faint air from the other side carrying a sense of both hope and foreboding.

Tweek: "Let's move," Tweek said, his voice steady despite the fear in his eyes. "We don't have a choice."

The tunnel stretched ahead, dark and foreboding, with only their flashlights illuminating the narrow path. The air was thick with dust, and every step sent echoes bouncing off the damp stone walls. Tweek led the way, his breath coming in sharp bursts as the ground trembled beneath them. The rumbling from the collapsing chamber hadn't stopped, and the sound of distant crashes made it clear that the danger wasn't over.

Kyle: "Keep moving!" Kyle shouted from the middle of the group. "Don't stop for anything!"

(Megan glanced over her shoulder at the debris falling behind them)

Megan: "This whole place is coming down! We have to move faster!"

A sudden crash ahead sent a large piece of stone tumbling down in front of them, blocking part of the narrow path. Everyone froze for a split second before Tweek called out.

Tweek: "We can climb over it! Go, go!"

They scrambled over the debris, each movement hurried yet careful to avoid slipping. As Jess tried to climb over, a smaller chunk of stone fell from above, striking her foot. She let out a sharp cry and stumbled.

Evan: "Jess!" Evan turned back, grabbing her arm to steady her. "Are you okay?"

Jess: "I… I think so," she stammered, wincing as she tried to put weight on her foot.

Wendy: "Come on, we don't have time for this!" Wendy called, her voice laced with panic as more debris crashed down behind them.

Evan: "Go ahead," Evan said sharply, kneeling beside Jess. "I've got her!"

With Evan's help, Jess managed to push forward, though her steps were slower and more labored. Evan stayed close, keeping an eye on her as the group pressed on. The light at the end of the tunnel finally came into view, a faint, flickering beacon of hope that spurred them on despite the chaos around them.

Lucas: "There it is!" Lucas shouted, his voice filled with relief. "We're almost out!"

(Tweek looked back, his flashlight catching glimpses of falling rocks and collapsing walls)

Tweek: "Keep moving! We're not safe yet!"

Jess, still limping slightly, was the last to approach the exit. Just as she reached the threshold, a deafening crack echoed through the tunnel. Above her, a massive chunk of debris began to fall, its shadow swallowing the light.

Kyle: "Jess, move!" Kyle screamed, but it was too late. She froze, her eyes wide with terror as the ceiling came crashing down.

Evan's body slammed into her with full force, pushing her out of the tunnel and into the open air. She tumbled forward, hitting the ground hard but safe. A thunderous roar filled the space as the debris collapsed completely, sealing the tunnel behind Evan.

Jess: "Evan!" Jess screamed, scrambling to her feet despite the pain in her foot. She clawed at the rubble, her hands trembling as she tried to dig through it. "No! No, no, no!"

(Kyle grabbed her shoulders, pulling her back)

Kyle: "Jess, stop! It's too dangerous!"

Jess: "He… he was right there!" Jess sobbed, struggling against Kyle's grip. "He pushed me out! He—he's still in there!"

The group stared at the collapsed tunnel, the reality of what had just happened sinking in. The rumbling finally subsided, leaving an eerie silence broken only by Jess's choked cries. Wendy stepped forward, her expression grim as she placed a hand on Jess's arm.

Wendy: "We can't stay here, Jess" Wendy said softly. "The tunnel's gone"

(Jessica wiped her face, her breathing shaky)

Jess: "We… we can't just leave him…"

(Megan stepped forward, her voice firm but gentle)

Megan: "Jess, the whole tunnel has collapsed. There's no way Evan would have survived that. He wouldn't want us to stay here and risk more lives. We'll figure out what to do, but first, we need to get out of here."

The group hesitated for a moment longer, the weight of Evan's sacrifice pressing down on them. As the silence settled, broken only by the distant sound of debris shifting, a sense of unease rippled through the air. The faint glow of moonlight lit their path, but it offered little comfort in the vast emptiness of the outskirts of South Park. Tweek's flashlight flickered again, casting fleeting shadows across their faces. He finally broke the silence, his voice barely above a whisper.

Tweek: "I… I'm starting to think that the worst is yet to come."
