Prompt 8th Dec. from Wordwielder - Shakespearean
A Sonnet
Within the sixty tales a Boswell penned,
are lovers bound by danger and regret,
unfaithful wives who meet a violent end,
and those betrayed when rival's traps are set.
An heiress flees from church, though newly wed,
another is beguiled by serpent's lies,
a couple hide from circles stained blood red,
a schemer courts his daughter in disguise.
Disaster strikes when deeds long past return,
a splendid writer's lost, his mistress thrives,
a sweetheart is avenged when powders burn,
chalked lines of dancing men destroy two lives.
~0~
These souls are linked by circumstance and crime,
and destined to live on beyond their time.
