Percy left the camp, with just his backpack with a few items of clothes, ambrosia and nectar, some drachma and of course, his trusty blade, Riptide. He didn't know where to go… as he didn't want to bother his mother nor did he want to lead monsters to her, however it would be the best option so his mother didn't worry about him. So that was it, he had to go to his mother's.
As he was clear out of sight of the border, he whistled for the Gray Sisters taxi. Once the taxi arrived, he got in and gave them the address of his mother's apartment. They soon arrived outside of the apartment block, he paid his fee and got out. Slowly, going up the stairs to the floor that he lived on..
He eventually reached the landing, and knocked on, Paul answered the door "Sally! Look who it is."
Sally came round from the living area "PERCY!" she yelled, tackling him into a bear hug.
"Can't breathe" he managed to get out, her hugs could rival those of Tyson. Eventually Sally let him go, "So what brings you by, shouldn't you be in camp?"
"Can't I see my mother?" He asked, not wanting to tell her what happened nor wanting to tell her a lie.
Sally just smiled as they headed into the living room.
Later that night, around midnight, Percy decided to creep out of his bedroom window, he couldn't stay there and bring danger to Sally, Paul and his half-sister, where could he go though? He wouldn't and couldn't return to Camp Half-Blood, he didn't want to risk Camp Jupiter not liking him, so he headed North. Towards Canada.
The trek to Canada would take months, however, he was prepared for this as such, he made sure before he left that he had a few pairs of clothes, he did however not have a tent, and had a limited supply of food. He did also have some US dollars on him, in total about 400, which wouldn't last long.
It took him a while to get out of the city as he kept getting distracted but 3-4 days later he ended up in Hamilton County, NY, he was close to blue mountain lake, he had bathed in small streams he had found however, he could stay in this lake, get clean, and get some energy back and speak to any fish that lived in the lake.
Before he dived in, he looked around to see if any mortals were close by and there weren't so he dived in and swam towards the bottom, he could feel the water taking action, his energy had started to slowly come back, and he did hold a conversation with the fish, however they weren't too talkative.
Eventually, after 12 hours, he resurfaced. Still no mortals, however, it was pitchblack so he swam back to the land and got up, still dry due to his powers and now he set off again, heading north.
–3 weeks later–
He was still trekking north, for the last week or so he had not slept, as he had to keep fighting off monsters and at one point he was running from the hunters of Artemis, yet, he was determined to carry on North, towards Canada.
He finally found a resting place, just as he laid under a tree, and closed his eyes. He could hear a low snarl, opening his eyes and rushing to uncap Riptide, he could then see the beast's red eyes.
A hellhound.
However, this hellhound didn't attack him, it just bounced towards him as if they were friendly with one another, Percy didn't let his guard down, then the hellhound gave him one soppy lick.
"Mrs O'leary." Percy muttered, finally letting his guard down as he petted the dump truck sized Hellhound. Soon, he collapsed to the floor due to being tired, this time he managed to get a decent 48 hours sleep, the hellhound keeping watch.
When he woke up, he was very confused, he had indeed slept for 2 days. Once, he was somewhat aware, he turned to his 'pet' "You need to go back to the underworld, you can't come with me. This is something I need to do alone." However, Mrs O'leary didn't like that, she picked him up by the scruff on his collar and soon they were gone, into a shadow.
When they emerged, he realised they weren't in the USA anymore, but now he was in Quebec, as well the Hellhound had dropped him by the "WELCOME TO QUEBEC" sign and then vanished, Percy remembered that Boreas' penthouse was in Quebec, he would seek the god of north wind, winter, and ice for refuge, even for a night.
So, he set off again with a palace in mind, eventually after 3 hours he found the penthouse, he indeed got lost.
Boreas stared down at the demigod, "Speak to why you are so North, child of Poseidon."
Percy stared at the god, "I seek refuge in your penthouse for a night, I left Camp for personal reasons." His tone was somewhat neutral, unheard of for Percy to be semi-nice to gods that weren't his father.
Before Boreas spoke, Khione interrupted, "He will stay with me father, I shall have fun with this demigod." Her intentions were somewhat unclear to Percy. However, he couldn't argue as Khione had whisked him away.
