{Greetings from beyond the screen my fellow readers and writers, Slifer Draconus Rapturous here with a new chapter, now then onto the chapter.}

Chapter 9: Sports Festival Preliminaries

Kenshi(P.O.V)

I walked down the hallway of UA, my mother and Principal Nezu both emailed me through my school to come to the as soon as possible, apparently the two of them had something to discuss with me. I suspect it's a final interview about the USJ incident, so the matter can finally be put to rest.

"Hey you over there," A voice behind me said, making me turn around. "You're Kenshi Hayabusa right?"

Standing at the other side of the hallway was an orange-haired girl wearing a pair of sweatpants and sweatshirt; she was also holding a bag under her arms.

"You're Itsuka Kendo?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as the girl walked up to me, "To what do I owe the pleasure?" I ask with a smile.

She chuckles with a grin before walking up to her side, "First off I wanted to congratulate you on becoming number one in the entrance exam."

"Prrrruuuu," I couldn't help but to pur at the compliment. "Thanks, it was shocking for me too," I said with a smile. "Nice job to you too for making it to the top 10, you did what 1000 other students couldn't do."

"Thanks," Kendo said before dyeing me inquisitively. "So what brings you here today?" She asked innocently.

I involuntarily roll my wings and whip my tail, "Principal Nezu wanted my final account on the USJ incident." I say before looking down the hallway.

Kendo folded her arms and nodded her head, "Was the USJ invasion really that bad?" She asked in a soft tone.

I look at her with a small frown, "You heard about that?" I ask, getting a nod from her.

"Yeah, along with the entire school, everyone found out after the teachers told us school was canceled today and it was on the news last night," Kendo explained with a shrug.

"Rrrruuuuu," I unconsciously whined but nodded never the less before blinking. "Wait, if the school is canceled then why are you here?"

Kendo smiled as she put her hands on her hips, "I'm the president of class 1-B." She said before pointing to Izuku, "And since you're here, I can only guess you're the president of class of 1-A." She said, making me nod.

"So everyone heard about the attack on us at USJ?" I asked with a frown.

"Yup," Kendo said with a sigh as she rubbed the back of her head. "Honestly a lot of students are jealous of 1-A for getting attacked, especially 1-B."

That made me give her a weird look, "What, seriously, people are jealous of the fact that villains came to kill us and managed to injure our teacher?" I asked in disbelief.

Kendo nodded and gave a small shrug, "Well I know some people in my class are jealous that 1-A was able to fight against villains and prove themselves and a lot of the media is already saying 1-A is the best of the best, making everyone feel a little sore."

"Grrrrrrrrrrr," That made me growl while shaking my head. "We're all a part of UA, the very best school in the country, if not the world, it doesn't matter what class you're in, we're all going to be heroes someday."

Kendo raised her hands in defense, "Trust me, I know. I tried to explain to them not to be jealous, but they wouldn't let up. They want to prove themselves, and how can I tell them no."

'They want to prove themselves.'

I sighed at that, "Right, sorry, I know it's not your fault." I said as I looked away with a small scowl, "It's just... that attack was not a game."

"...You want to talk about it?" Kendo asked with a concerned look on her face.

I was quiet for a moment before I spoke, "Trust me I would love to but I know that if I don't get going Principal Nezu will send Midnight-senpai after me."

Kendo steps back a bit, "Is she really that scary?"

I stared at the girl for a long moment, "A zoologist once told me that I would be an apex predator but the way Midnight can hunt a person is even better than I." Kendo looked stunned at this but I began to walk away, "It was nice talking to you Kendo but I have to get going." Just before I'm out of earshot I say, "Also good luck at the Sports Festival."

I entered Principal Nezu's office to see not only Nezu but my mother.

"Mom, Principal Nezu, you wanted to see me?" I ask as I walk in.

"Please Ken take a seat," she says with a very serious tone.

I do as my mother says, it is not often that I hear her in such a tone, she must be very angry.

"Now then," Principal Nezu begins. "As you know you fought against an entity with an extraordinary amount of similarities to you yourself."

"Yes sir he was far more experience, in fact if it wasn't for my emissions I doubt I would have lasted very long,"

"Agreed," Principal Nezu comments. "I'm sure you could already deduce that you are his biological son."

I cough into my hand and say, "That was a hard pill to swallow."

Principal Nezu opens a file, "Unfortunately there is more to the story than you think."

"Really," I ask while leaning forward.

Principal Nezu nods and says, "They are part of Interpol and unfortunately one of the requirements was to have no immediate family members."

I looked down sadly, "So they had to give me up?"

I hear mom walk over and place a hand on my shoulder and say, "Ken, even though they had to give you up I know they must have loved you to some extent and even though they want to reconnect I will still consider you s-"

I pull my mom into a hug, "You are my mom." I watch as tears well in her eyes but I continue, "You raised me with the kindness of your heart without any rhyme or reason. As far as I'm concerned you are my mother.

I watch as tears run down mom's eyes.

However it's Principal Nezu who breaks up our moment, "I hate to be the one to break up this touching moment but we still have one more thing to discuss with him Nemuri."

I watch as mom sighs, stands and says, "You're right Nezu, Ken they are formally requesting an internship with you after the Sports Festival."

I stand up and ask, "Wait seriously, those are decided afterwards?"

Mom couches in her hand and says, "Yes normally but they wanted us to inform you on the official name. It's called the Oda Agency."

(3rd POV)

The next day UA was open and the class was back in session. Everyone was present for class, except for Aizawa.

Everyone in the class was talking about the news. Nearly every channel was dedicated to class 1-A and how they came out of the villain attack unharmed, putting everyone in the spotlight.

Mostly everyone was excited about being on T.V so soon, others were still shocked that they were attacked in the first place. Some were even talking about the fights they had with some of the villains. Overall, the class as a whole seemed to have gained some confidence from the attack.

Suddenly Iida came speed walking into class and stood in front of the class right behind Aizawa's desk.

"Everyone! Morning homeroom is about to start! Stop talking and take your seats!" Iida shouted behind the next.

Kenshi sighed as he leaned back as he put his hands behind his head, "Iida, you don't have to worry, everyone is already at their seat."

Izuku then chuckled before saying with a small smile, "Iida all that's left is you."

"Shoot!" Iida pouted as he sat in front of Ochako, who gave him a carefree smile.

"Hey, don't worry about it," She said with a friendly voice.

Kenshi glanced around the class to see if everyone was seated before he noticed Sero waving at him.

"Hey Hayabusa, do you know who's going to be teaching our class today?" Sero asked while looking at the door.

Kenshi sighed with a shrug, "I have no idea, I tried asking the Principal Nezu but he said not to worry." He said before leaning back in his chair, "Honestly, it makes me think Mr. Aizawa is going to come in."

"Eh, but wasn't he injured?" Jiro asked, hearing the conversation behind her.

"He was, but thanks to Sora nanites it was nothing seriously critical. Plus with Recovery Girl skills and quirk, it's not too far-fetched for him to be back in class," Kenshi said, making the two nod softly.

Just as Kenshi finished talking, the door opened with a loud bang and Aizawa walked into class. He had a large patch over his eye and one of his arms was in a sling, overall he still looked his same grouchy self.

"Morning," He said as if it were a normal day.

"Damn, that's dedication," Kirishima muttered, seeing as he saw the hero walk behind his desk with little effort.

"Sensei, are you alright!?" Iida asked with concern.

"Don't concern yourself with me, I've had worse in the past," He said before looking at the class. "But remember, the battle hasn't ended for you yet in fact it's barely begun," He said, getting a confused look from the class.

"The battle?" Bakugo said with a confused look on his face.

"You don't mean..." Izuku trailed off with a worried look on his face.

"More villains!?" Mineta screamed in fear.

Aizawa meant a different kind of battle, "UA's Sports festival is approaching, boys and girls."

"A sports festival!"

"I keep forgetting this is an actual school!"

Kenshi heard a thump, looking back he saw Izuku hit his head on the table, he must have forgotten about one of the biggest events UA hosts every year, The Sports Festival.

The UA Sports Festival was both similar but very different from a normal school festival. Every year UA hosts a large tournament for students to show off their quirk, skill, and fighting capabilities for the world and other heroes to see. This allowed students to get noticed by big-time heroes and possibly be recruited to a hero agency as a sidekick or more.

Many people had watched every UA sports festival and knew a great deal about UA's style of holding them.

"Wait, hold up! That sounds like something villains would try to infiltrate... isn't it? Will it be alright?" Someone asked in a concerned tone.

"On the contrary: Since we're going ahead with the festival, it means that the school is confident it has all its ducks in a row when it comes to its crisis control now," Aizawa explained while scratching his cheek. "I hear the police presence will be five times bigger than normal, for example."

"Plus you've got to take into account the number of pro-heroes that will be there," Izuku said, grabbing everyone's attention. "The stadium UA will be using will be filled to the brim with pro-heroes from all across Japan, and some even overseas. No villain group would be stupid enough to attack an army of heroes."

Aizawa nodded his head, "Midoriya's right, security will not be an issue. What you should be thinking about is… what a huge chance the academy's sports festival presents for you all." He said in a confident tone, "This isn't some event that'll be brought to a halt by the likes of villains."

"No, if villains do appear, can we halt it please," Mineta said while shaking in his seat.

Kenshi couldn't help but look back and give the short teen a weird look, "Mineta, have you never seen the UA sports festival?" He asked with a raised brow while looking back.

"Of course I have! That's not it at all-"

Before Mineta could continue, Aizawa cut him off, "Our sports festival is one of Japan's biggest events! In days past, the 'Olympics' was the sports festivity that whipped all the nation into a front of enthusiasm! But now, as you know, the extent and population have shrunk and it's lost a lot of substance. So what has taken the place of the Olympics in Japan is the UA sports festival."

Most of us nodded to Aizawa's words. Before quirks, the Olympics was one of the biggest events in the past where nations competed against each other on equal footing. However, with quirks coming into play no one had any equal footing anymore. Since quirks raised the bar on what it meant to be equal.

That didn't mean the Olympics were gone, the countries of the world still kept the tradition and held the Olympics every few years. It was just no longer as big of an event as it was in the past.

"The country's top heroes are all sure to be watching us!" Momo said, grabbing Mineta's attention, "It's because they'll be scouting for us and other potential students."

"I'm thinking I might follow the tactic of going sidekick for a pro heroes agency after graduation!" Kaminari said to Jiro with a grin, "But there are loads of people who get stuck as sidekicks forever and miss their chance to break as solo heroes."

"And you seem like just that kind of dumbass, Kaminari," Jiro said with a grin making the blond sulk.

"Naturally," Aizawa spoke up, making everyone quiet down. "Entering the agency of a famous hero will get you higher status and more experience. Remember, time is limited. If you get noticed by a pro, that gives you the standing for a brighter future than otherwise." He said, grabbing every single person's attention, "This is the chance you'll get only once a year... for a total of three chances. If you aim to be a hero, this is an event you can't overlook!" He said, making everyone serious about the Sports Festival.

Kenshi thought about what he would do after he graduated. From what Kaminari said, the most common thing every hero did was become a sidekick to a pro at an agency before going off on their own, but it was also possible for that hero to stay a sidekick for their whole career. The young dragon didn't know what exactly he planned to do after he graduated, would he form his own hero group?

What Kenshi did know however was that he would show the world at the UA Sports Festival what a dragon can do.

After the end of the fourth period, it was noonday break, allowing everyone to finally talk about the Sports Festival.

"I mean I knew it was coming, but now I feel like the tension is flying high!" Kirishima shouted while pumping his fist.

"If we put in the effort and stand out to a pro, it'll be a giant leap forward!" Sero added.

"Looks like everyone is getting pumped up," Izuku said, standing well with Iida while he had his hands behind his head.

"Don't you feel it, too?" Iida asked while moving his hands as his body shook, "You've enrolled in UA to become a hero, so getting fired up is only natural, man!" He said, a bit out of character for him.

"Iida's got an oddball way of unleashing his weirdo passion," Tsuyu said bluntly as she grabbed her lunch.

"Oh don't worry Iida," Izuku said with a grin. "I'm getting fired up too," He said with a thumbs up.

"Izuku, Iida..."

The two turned around to the familiar voice, only to see something very out of place, which many people notice, including Kenshi.

"Let's crush the Sports Festival," Ochako said with a serious face and aura around herself, catching everyone off guard.

"Whoa, your face, Urakaka! Your face!" Some people were freaking out.

"What's up with her? Urakaka's being, kind of, not Urakaka," Mina said while tilting her head.

"Maybe it's PM-" Mineta couldn't finish his sentence because Tsuyu slapped him in the cheek hard with her tongue and Akane kicked him upside the head.

Ochako suddenly turned to the guys while throwing her fist in the air, "Guys! I'm Gonna! Go for it!" She shouted in a scary tone with a fire in her eyes.

Izuku throws his arm in the air a little awkwardly, clearly caught off by Ochako's sudden fire. Eventually the two of them convinced her to calm down so they could get lunch.

On their way to the cafeteria, Izuku asked, "Come to think about it, I haven't asked why you want to be a hero."

The answer was a little surprising to the two, almost shocking to say the least.

"For money...?" Izuku said with a shocked look on his face along with Iida, "You want to be a hero for the money?"

Ochako blushed as she rubbed the back of her head, "Yeah, I guess ultimately." She said as she frowned in embarrassment, "Man, sorry, I know it sounds lame. Like I'm not being pure as a hero! Iida especially is doing it for high-minded principles and stuff, not to mention Izuku is doing it to become the next symbol of peace after All Might's retirement, I'm so embarrassed." She said while hiding her face behind her hands.

"Don't be!" Iida shouted as he started waving his arms around rapidly, "Why, what on Earth is there not to admire about applying yourself to aim for a comfortable life?"

"Plus you're not any less of a hero for wanting money," Izuku said while smiling at the girl. "I always say actions speak louder than words. Remember during the entrance exam when you saved me after I overused my quirk, you could have just run away to save your skin, but instead, you and Iida saved me without any hesitation. You had nothing to gain but you didn't hesitate, that's what makes you a hero." He said, making Ochako smile a bit, "Though I have to admit, it's a little unexpected."

Ochako started to fidget uncomfortably as she avoided eye contact, "I'm working at my parents construction company but... there's just no real work out there, so we're flat broke!" She said in a worried tone.

"Construction?" Iida said with some confusion.

Izuku had a thoughtful look on his face, "With a quirk like yours, if you gained permission to use it by the government, it'd be super effective in construction work, not to mention economical. Your quirk would replace all the heavy machines needed."

"I know, right!?" Ochako suddenly shouted, making the two guys jump at her tone, "That's what I told my dad!" She said as she gained a down look, "But..."

Ochako went on to explain that when she was younger she had asked her father to work at their construction company. Her dad instantly refused saying it was a parent's job to push their kids to go for their dream, and for the child to grow.

Ochako gripped her skirt before she turned to Izuku and Iida, and for the first time since Izuku met the girl, he saw a look of pure determination, "I'm going to become a hero and earn money, without fail. And I'm going to give my mom and dad the easy life they deserve!"

Izuku and Iida were momentarily speechless, completely caught off guard by the girl's determination.

"Urakaka, bravo!" Iida shouted while clapping his hands, making the girl blush red.

Izuku smiled and put his hands in his pocket, "You know there's nothing to be ashamed about wanting to provide for your family, in fact, it's very admirable."

"You guys..." Ochako said softly as she started to tear up.

Before Ochako could say anything else they were quickly interrupted by none other than All Might himself, popping out from around the corner.

"Oooh! There you are Midoriya, my boy!" All Might shouted making the three jumps.

"All Might!?" The three shouted in shock, clearly not expecting the hero to suddenly show up, "What are you doing here?"

The hero cleared his throat, "Would you care to... have lunch with me?" He asked in a bashful tone as he held up a lunchbox.

"You sound like a teenage girl!" Ochako spit-laughed.

Izuku knew All Might wanted to talk about something important, so he decided to cover for him, "So you want to talk about the USJ attack, make sure I didn't miss anything." Izuku said while giving him a knowing look.

All Might instantly caught on and nodded his head, "Yes, just one final interview before we can put this whole thing behind us."

Izuku nodded before he turned to his friends, "I'll try to catch up with you as soon as I can."

"Take your time, and don't worry, we completely understand!" Iida said while throwing his arm up and Ochako nodded.

With that, the two started to make their way to the lunchroom while All Might and Izuku quickly walked to a private room together.

The two entered a room not far away and Izuku saw two unfamiliar people sitting on a pair of stools. Only one person wasn't actually there, they were a hologram.

"Uh, All Might, isn't that your former sidekick Sir Nighteye?" Izuku asked as All Might closed the door behind him and turned into his real form but Izuku continued, "And who are you?"

The happy blond gave Izuku a wide smile and a small wave, "Mirio Togata, hero name Lemillion, I'm part of Class 3-B."

Izuku gave him a small smile and said, "It's good to meet you, senpai." He then turned back to his father and asked, "All Might, why is Sir Nighteye here?"

Before All Might could reply Nighteye spoke up, "I am here to impart some advice about the harsh reality of this world."

"Wh-what the heck!?"

It was currently after school and just as everyone was about to leave they were blocked off by a mob of students.

"They're crowding the exit! Why are they here?" Mineta asked in a worried tone.

"They're scouting out the competition, retard," Bakugo said as he walked to the door, though Mineta was left shocked at being called a 'retard'. "They wanna see the guys who came through the villain ambush. They're checking us out before the big battle, asshole."

Izuku rubbed his head while letting out a small breath, "I'm starting to get the feeling you have some kind of speech impediment with how often you curse for no reason."

Bakugo clicked his teeth and just glared forward, "It's pointless to try, so why don't you just fuck off, you goddamn extras." He said, ignoring Izuku.

"Don't go calling people you don't know 'extras' right off the bat!" Iida yelled while Izuku shook his head.

"I came to see what you kids are made of, true, but I didn't think you'd be this arrogant," Kenshi blinked at a familiar voice as the person started to make their way to the front of the crowd. "Are all the kids enrolled at the department of heroics this way?"

Kenshi was slightly shocked to see Shinso Hitoshi standing at the front of the crowd. When the two made eye contact Shinso gave Kenshi a small grin before turning back to Bakugo.

"Ahhh," Bakugo growled softly while glaring at Shinso.

"I'm a bit disappointed. So that's it, huh?" Shinso said while giving Bakugo a flat look and rubbing the back of his head, "There's a lot of kids who wind up in the general education department or other departments because they failed the heroics one. Did you know that? And based on the results of the sports festival, people can be transferred into the heroics course. However, the reverse is also a possible outcome." He said, shocking everyone who heard.

Kenshi rubbed his chin and gave Shinso a grin, "So, this is your 'Declaration of War', huh, Shinso?"

The purple-haired teen gave Izuku a nod and his grin, "Why not knock you guys down off your high horse, you know." He said with a shrug.

"Wait, Ken, you know this guy!?" Akane shouted with a surprised look.

"Yeah, we met during the entrance exam," Kenshi said while throwing his thumb to the purple-haired teen, however unknown to him his statement got a shocked look from Shoto and Momo. "I helped him out a bit when he was dealing with a robot."

Shinso rubbed the back of his neck and gave Kenshi a grin, "This guy saved me from being choked out by a robot." He said before giving another grin, "But don't think that just because you saved me that I'll go easy on you."

Kenshi scoffs and says, "I wouldn't expect it any other way."

Just then another kid jumped forward in the crowd, "Hey! You! I'm from class 1-B!" He said as he pushed through the crowd.

This teen had silver hair and eyebrows, not only that he had a row of sharp teeth in his mouth that could give Kirishima a run for his money.

"I heard you knocked around with villains or whatever! But I don't wanna hear it from snot-nosed punk!" He shouted while looking at Bakugo.

Everyone glanced at Bakugo, expecting him to explode and yell at the mob of students, maybe even show off his quirk. Instead, Bakugo ignored them and started to move forward.

"Wait a second, what did you just do!?" Kirishima yelled in worry, "Now we're gonna get haters all up in our grill!"

Bakugo glanced back with a passive look on his face, "It doesn't matter."

"What!?" Kirishima shouted in confusion.

"None of that matters, once you're at the top," He said before making his way out of the classroom.

The simple words left an impact on the class, even Izuku himself. Despite being blunt they did hold some meaning.

None of the words or insults matter as long as you reach your goal. Izuku was also aiming for the number one spot in the hero rankings, to become the next Symbol of Peace.

'We all have goals and dreams we're chasing, nothing should stop us from reaching them,' Izuku thought as he felt his determination grow.

Suddenly, Kenshi releases a heavy sigh, "Sadly he's one of our top contenders." He then eyes Shinso and says, "Words of warning although a book has grammatical errors does not mean you can't understand the hidden meaning."

With that the dragonoid walks away.

"Fucking hell," Akane says with an exasperated sigh. "Does he have to be so cryptid," she asks.

"What did you expect? He has three other minds in his head," Sora says casually which causes shocked looks from everyone not in 1-A. "Why do you think it couldn't get a bit philosophical?"

"I don't think that was philosophical," Rin says sarcastically.

(Time Skip)

"Hey, dad I'm home!" Kenshi called as he entered his home.

There was no answer in fact this was normal for this time of day, with a sigh and a shrug Kenshi closes the door. He split himself; Glacius and Raiden went to the bedroom to study, while Nova went to the kitchen to make dinner.

During dinner Nemuri suddenly clears her throat, "Before we continue Kenshi, there is something I must clear with you." This grabbed the dragonoid's attention, "Since you came first in the entrance exam, you are required to speak as the student's representative."

That made Kenshi choke on this drink, "Wait, I have to speak in front of the entire stadium, and to everyone watching." Kenshi said slowly as a cold sweat ran down his face, "…Crap…"

That made his parents laugh.

"Don't worry, it's not that difficult," Yamato said while giving his son a thumbs up. "Just say what's on your mind, such as a heroic speech or words of encouragement from your classmates." He said, making Kenshi nod slowly.

"Also, since you came first in the entrance exam the school has provided you with three tickets to the Sports Festival," Nemuri said as she pulled three tickets from her coat. "You're allowed to bring anyone you please."

"Whoa, seriously!" Kenshi shouted with a shocked look on his face as he was handed the tickets, "I'm surprised there's any room left."

That was the truth, the UA Sports Festival was one of the biggest events in Japan. Because of this getting tickets was next to impossible for most people and the top pros were the ones with early access to the tickets.

Kenshi was planning on giving one of the tickets to his father, as for the other two, "I wonder if my parents could make it?" Kenshi asked himself, hoping they would be able to take some time off from their hero work, "Thanks for everything you guys."

His mother smiled and waved him off, "All this is you son, you're the one who brought yourself here."

Kenshi nodded and gripped his fist, "I've got two weeks until the Sports Festival until then I'm going to train like crazy."

"And I'll help you," Yamato said while giving him a thumbs up to his son. "It's been a while since we spared."

That just made Kenshi laugh with some dread, "I want to be strong for the Sports Festival, not in a body cast." He said, only for his father to laugh.

(Time Skip)

For the next two weeks everyone in class 1-A trained for the upcoming Sports Festival. Some trained their quirks, others trained their bodies, and some were already training for the standing ovation once they won.

For the first three days Kenshi spared with his father to the best of his abilities, but still lost in the end. Yamato's quirk, Reflection, already made fighting him extremely hard, but adding Kenshi's was practically fighting himself. Fortunately for Kenshi his father only didn't use his quirk to spar with Kenshi, allowing the dragonoid to get a few good hits in before his father beat him.

When it came to the other two tickets, he discussed this with his parents and they all agreed to allow Kenshi to invite his birth parents. The couple were surprised to hear from their son soon but nevertheless accepted the ticket. It was then the two of them offered to train their son, however he respectfully refused because he had a few ideas that he wanted to surprise them all with. It was then that both sides of the family got excited and for the first time truly met each other.

Once the day finally came for the Sports Festival.

Kenshi made his way to the 1-A waiting room with the rest of his class. Everyone was currently wearing their PE uniforms and talking among themselves.

"Everyone, are your preparations complete!?" Iida shouted as everyone still talked among themselves, "We're set to enter in no time." He said while waving his hands, though everyone barely noticed.

"Man," Mina whined as she looked down at her PE uniform. "I wanted to wear my costume."

"To keep everything fair, we can't," Ojiro said as he closed a locker. "Our costumes give us an edge with our quirks that the other classes can't have."

"If that's the case then why does Kawakami get her builds?" Mina asked with a pout as she pointed to the computer teen.

It was actually Izuku who began to explain, "Because they're created from her quirk, Nanites, her body naturally is able to produce nanites which through practice she's able to create her builds."

"Oh Izuku you sweet talker," Sora said in a flirty tone making Izuku blush.

"So we can only have equipment if it lets us use our quirks?" Mina summarized before looking down at her shoes, "I guess that's why they allowed me to use my shoes." Mina muttered under breath.

"Hey, guys," Rin called, making everyone turn to the petite teen. "Since you guys are so smart, do you have any idea what the first task is going to be?" Rin asked in a hopeful voice.

Izuku gains a thoughtful look, "I have no idea what the exact task is going to be." He said, making Rin look down, "But I do have a general idea on what it will be like."

Now that got everyone's attention.

"All right then, why don't you tell us what we're facing," Jiro said as she crossed her arms.

Izuku put a hand on his chin and started to think, "Every year the UA sports festival is different but has a lot of things the same. Last year the first event was a giant maze with robots inside of it."

"Oh yeah, I remember that," Ochako said as she rubbed her head. "The robots kept popping out left and right."

"Right, and the year before that was the last man standing event."

"You mean the one where all the students were standing on a giant wobbly platform and they tried to push each other off," Kirishima said with a grin. "Man, that one looked cool."

"So what you're saying is there's no way to tell what the first event might be," Rin said with some disappointment.

"Well, not exactly," Kenshi said with a shrug, getting their attention this time. "What we can tell you is this. The first event is going to be big, something where it's going to knock most of the students out of the Sports Festival and only leave about 40 left."

"Damn, UA is cut-throat," Jiro muttered while rubbing her neck.

"The next event is most likely going to be some event where it involves teams of 2 or 4," Sora said before looking at everyone with a grin on her face. "And the last event is always the same every year, a one-on-one tournament with the 16 remaining students," Sora finished while letting out a breath of air.

When they looked up they were surprised to see everyone staring at them, "…What?"

"You guys are scary," Kaminari said with a laugh, making Izuku blush.

"Well I've always had a knack from analyzing and memorization, so it just comes naturally to me," Izuku said with a small laugh and a slightly larger blush.

Iida looked at his watch before raising his arm, "Alright everyone, we have five minutes before the festival starts!"

With that everyone started to go through their mental preparations; Ochako was doing light breathing to calm herself, Tenya was doing some simple leg stretches, Sora was doing tons of calculations, Momo was enjoying a kind of candy bar, Bakugo had his hands in his pockets in an attempt to sweat more, Akane was also doing was light stretches, Mina was doing some quick hoping, Kenshi was trying to not to use his emissions, Rin shut her eyes in an attempt to calm herself as well, Denki was muttering some rock lyrics, Tsuyu was drinking some waters, Ojiro was stretches his tail, Toru was slightly pacing at one each of the table, Kirishima closed his eyes and turned his head to the ceiling, Sero was bending his elbow over and over again, Jiro was listening to some rock n' roll, Tokoyami was brooded in a corner, Izuku was clenching his fist and bouncing on his feet, Mineta was doing some type of ritual muttering five times faster than a normal person, and then there's-

"Hayabusa."

Kenshi turned to see Todoroki look at him with a cold glare, "Something up Todoroki?" The young dragonoid asked as he sat up in his chair.

The two-colored-haired teen looked at Kenshi for a moment before speaking, "On an objective basis, I think I'm above you in terms of practical strength."

"Well, that was blunt," Kenshi muttered with a deadpan expression.

"Yet despite that you managed to beat me in training," Todoroki said, making Kenshi raise an eyebrow a bit. "But what I wanted to tell you…" Todoroki looked at Kenshi dead in his eyes and Kenshi could see the determination in his eyes. "I'm going to beat you."

"Oho!? What's this, a declaration of war from the strongest kid in class?" Kaminari said, making Bakugo growled at not being mentioned as the strongest.

Kirishima quickly got up from his chair and grabbed Todoroki by his shoulder, "What's with the sudden belligerence!? Don't spring this on him right before-"

Todoroki pulled his shoulder away from the redhead, "I'm not here to play nice or make friends. But whatever."

Kenshi's hair shadowed his eyes before he let out a small sigh, "It's true that on power alone, you do outshine me Todoroki." Kenshi said, grabbing everyone's attention. "Not to mention you're no slouch with using it. On an objective standpoint, your quirk's output is vastly greater than mine so while the outcome seems pretty obvious on paper." Kenshi then grew a wide toothy grin on his face as he looked Todoroki right in the eyes, "Which is why I'm not only going to push you to your limit I'm going to beat you."

"Oh?" Todoroki muttered, raising his brow ever so slightly.

Kenshi then stood up, standing at his full height, looked the ice user right in the eyes and said, "Sure you might have the strongest quirk in class, but I know for a fact that I have a larger arsenal than you." The room went silent, "But you have forgotten that I'm not the only one at the UA Sports Festival." He said as he gained a more serious look, "If you start underestimating anyone here, then you'll eventually overestimate yourself."

The two stared each other down and neither one flinched, the whole class staring at the two with shock and awe.

The moment was broken however when Bakugo let off an explosion and glared at the two, "Don't you think too far ahead of yourself you reptile bastard? I'm going to win!"

Kenshi gave the explosive blonde a side glance and a wicked grin, "What's this, a new challenger approaches."

This made Bakugo grin ferally.

Before Bakugo could move Kirishima grabbed his shoulder, "Easy man, let's save it for the Festival."

"Speaking of the festival!" Iida shouted as he raised his arm, "We should get moving, it's almost time to start!"

Kenshi nodded and turned to Todoroki with a grin, "I'll see you in the finals." He said before he started to lead everyone out to the stadium.

'I will win the UA Sports Festival,' Todaroki thought as he tightened his fist, 'And prove that I don't need his quirk.'

Zenjin, Sakura and Yamato sat in the booth, it was large with only a few people inside, some heroes and some students.

"Not bad," Sakura said after drinking some cold water. "These are some of the best seats in here," She said as she leaned back into her seat.

"Agreed, I've always wondered what the view was like from up here," Zenjin said before eating a piece of meat that was stabbed onto his index claw.

Yamato chuckled, catching their attention, "It's so weird how much Kenshi resembles you two."

Zenjin began to roar with laughter, "It seems Kenshi is hardwired to act a certain way."

Sakura on the other hand laughed into her hand, "It's more like convergence behavior." She then looks down at the field, "Do you think Nemuri's custom change is due to Kenshi."

Yamato thinks for a bit before speaking up, "It's indeed possible."

Suddenly a horn went off making everyone turn to the stadium field.

"The UA Sports Festival!" Present Mic shouted throughout the stadium. "Where the hero world's inchoate little eggs aim for each other's throats-and the top! Our grand yearly melee! And let me guess, all you miscreants came to see them, right? The freshly-formed miracle stars that shrugged off a mass villain assault with wills of steel!"

"The Department of Heroics freshman class!"

"You're here for class 1-A, right!?"

As the hero spoke class 1-A all walked the main entrance, causing the crowd to cheer for them.

"There he is I see Kenshi!" Sakura shouted as she pointed down at the group of teens.

"He's the spitting image of his father," Zenjin bolstered before turning to his son's adopted father and asking. "Am I right in my assumption that you're the one who taught swordsmanship?"

Yamato nods without taking his eyes off of his son, "I did and I heard he even showed you his sword skills."

Zenjin sighs, "He did and yet despite it healing I still feel it."

Sakura nudges her husband, "That's what we call a lingering effect."

That caused the three of them to burst out in laughter.

Izuku couldn't help but feel shocked as he glanced around the stadium, seeing hundreds of people all cheering for them. And this was only the people present, there were people all over the world watching them, waiting for them to make their entrance. The other students of class 1-A were all nervous but also pumped up.

"They're all here to watch us shine," Izuku muttered as he gazed around. "Then let's give them a good show."

"Excellent point Izuku!" Iida shouted while marching next to Izuku, making the green haired teen jump, "Let's be sure to do our best!" He said, making Izuku shake his head with a small laugh.

After Present Mic introduced the rest of the classes to the students of UA, everyone gathered in the center of the stadium in front of a large stage.

A moment later a certain hero walked on stage, and instantly everyone started blushing like crazy.

"Now it's time for the Player Pledge!"

The UA Chief Umpire this year was none other than the R-Rated Hero, Midnight. She was an older woman with long dark purple hair, blue eyes, and a very mature body. She was also Kenshi Hayabusa's mother and his mother wore a new trench coat over a tight spandex suit with what looked like BDSM clothes over it, broken handcuffs in her hands, and with a riding crop in her hands. All this made her look like a dominatrix however most recently she began to wear a long trench coat over her entire outfit.

Kenshi found his mother's hero persona interesting to say the least, not because of her personality and fashion choice... mostly. Her quirk, Somnambulist, is an emission type that allows her to produce gas from her skin that puts people to sleep but it's more effective against men. It was very useful for a close-range fight, and from what Kenshi has experienced, she was far from a slouch when it came to hand-to-hand combat. Most likely not at Aizawa's level, but well above the average pro.

"What is Midnight warring?" Kirishima asked with a blush on his face, trying to look away but couldn't.

"That's the R-Rated hero for you," Kaminari said with a nod but was drooling out of the corner of his mouth.

"Is it okay to be at a high school even though she's R-Rated?" Tokoyami said, the only one appearing not to blush.

"Yes!" Mineta shouted through his grit teeth, practically drooling out a waterfall.

Before anyone could say anything, Midnight spoke, "Quiet everybody!" Midnight shouted before looking right at a certain dragonoid, "Representing the students is Kenshi Hayabusa from class 1-A!"

Kenshi took a small breath as he started to make his way to the front stage.

"What, Kenshi's representing us?" Ochako asked while tilting her head.

"Well, he did place first in the entrance exam, remember?" Sero said, making Bakugo click his teeth with a scowl but the statement made Momo and Shoto eyes widen.

"Yeah, that heroic entrance exam," A girl from the general education course said with an annoyed huff.

"Someone's feeling a bit butthurt," Kaminari said with a snicker, getting a glare from the girl as she flipped him off.

Once Kenshi made it to the stage he was presented a mic facing the stadium with his back to the rest of the students. He looked at the mic for a long moment as complete silence filled the stadium. After a while, he finally spoke.

"When I first heard I was going to represent the students, I thought about giving a long-winded speech and stuff with cheesy one-liners," Kenshi said with a grin, getting a few laughs from the audience and even the students. "I then realized how inappropriate it was and instead came up with something different." He said with a serious look on his face, getting total silence.

He then took one final breath before he spoke.

"To put it simply, not everyone is born equal," Kenshi said, instantly getting some murmurs. "Some of us are born with amazing powers, talent, and skill, while others have to work for it. Some are unlucky in chasing their dreams and are forced to set back," He said and he could instantly feel himself getting some glares from the students behind him, clearly hitting a few places close to home. "But right now, all that doesn't matter," In that instant all the murmuring stopped. "Heroics, general education, support and event management but none of that matters. Right now, we're all students of UA and all of us with dreams and one goal in mind," Kenshi said as he held up his finger. "To be number 1! So forget whatever you were before, what class you're in, or even why you're there because right now, we're all aiming for the top, including me!" He then grabbed the mic and turned around to face the students, a big grin on his face.

As soon as Kenshi took a breath the stadium roared with applause. Even some of the students were cheering at Kenshi's speech.

"D-damn it... I wanted to hate him, but that was so damn manly!" A familiar silver-haired teen shouted with tears in his eyes.

"I-I know!" Kirishima shouted as he whipped the tears from his eyes.

"All right, quiet now!" Midnight shouted to the crowd, grabbing everyone's attention before shouting, "It's time to move on to our first event!"

A second later, a large holo-screen appeared behind her and started to spin like a slot machine.

"Onto the 'Preliminaries', as they're called. Every year, many drink their tears here, and the first round of this year's destiny is..." Midnight paused for dramatic effect as the spin came to a stop, "...This!"

OBSTACLE RACE

"An Obstacle Race," Izuku said while nodding slowly. "Yeah, I can see that as a way to lighten the numbers," He said before listening to Midnight explain the rules to everyone.

"All 11 classes will participate in this race, that's about 220 students. The course will be the outer circumference of this stadium-about four kilometers!" She said before she creaked the riding crop, "Our school's selling point is freedom!" She said before licking her lips, "As long as you stay on the course, it doesn't matter what you do!" She shouted, making the crowd roar, "Now, take your place everyone!" She said while pointing to a large red entrance off to the side.

It didn't take long for the 11 classes to make their way to the entrance. Most pushed their way to the front thinking they could get a head start, but this caused a lot of people to bunch together, limiting mobility. Others hanged into the back, not wanting to be trampled over, but would be the last to exit the tunnel.

Izuku stood close to the back, but was close to the center. For his plan to work, he would need to have as much room as he could while being close to the front.

As the lights above the entrance lit up Izuku couldn't help but start to think about all the people who were supporting him.

'Mom, Dad, Mirio… Sir Nighteye, all of you believe in me,' Izuku thought as he tightened his fist as the lights above the entrance started to count down. 'Dad said I should show the world that I am here, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. Show them all that I could become a hero, that I am here!'

As soon as Izuku finished his thought the last light above the door went off, and Midnight raised her hand.

"START!"

And with that, the first event of the UA Sports Festival started.

Izuku and the rest of 1-A bolted forward as soon as Midnight shouted that word, but they weren't the only ones. Despite being closer to the back it didn't take long for Izuku to be crammed in the tight hallway.

"Okay, here's a play-by-play! Are you ready to do this, Sleepy man?"

"You're the one who forced me here."

"Let's get this started right away, Sleepy man. What should we pay attention to in the early stages?"

"This part right now."

"Hey, hey!"

"This is too narrow!"

"Ouch!"

"Hey, move!"

"Sorry!"

"Hey, stop groping me!"

"...Wait, what!"

Kenshi grit his teeth as he tried to move through the crowd as he was elbowed in the face. With the hallway so narrow and with so many people moving at once, mobility was a big problem.

'I see what Aizawa means, with such a narrow hallway and everyone gunning for the exit, everyone's running over each other,' He thought before a grin crossed his face. "Luckily, I already have a plan for that," Kenshi muttered before he acted.

Throwing his right arm into the air, Kenshi threw a Plasma Coil into the ceiling. The coil latched itself onto the ceiling before Kenshi pulled himself out of the crowd and above everyone.

Suddenly Kenshi felt a wave of cold, making his eyes widen.

'Todoroki!' Kenshi thought as he quickly started to crawl along the ceiling.

In a second the entire tunnel was covered in ice, trapping a good portion of the students. Once Kenshi saw that the ice had stopped growing he quickly launched himself out of the tunnel. While in the air he instinctively spread his wings and flew.

BOOM

"Take this!" Bakugo shouted as he rocked out of the tunnel with his hands exploding.

Kenshi quickly glanced around to see he wasn't the only one not caught in Todoroki's ice. Bakugo was flying low thanks to his explosions, Izuku broke free with his strength, Sora created a pair of Hephaestus Fits and Boots to break free before shifting into her Apollo Engine, Rin used a portal on herself before appearing several meters away, Momo used her creation quirk to make a poll to push off the ground, and Kirishima had jumped just in time to dodge the ice.

"Naïve, Todoroki!" Momo yelled as she started to fall to the ground.

"I won't let you get away so easily!" Bakugo yelled with an angry look on his face before he let off an even stronger explosion, "You half-and-half bastard!"

Ojiro used his tail to jump off the ground before the ice covered it, "You got me with that once. You won't get me again!"

"Whoa, whoa!" Mina yelled as she used her acid to skate across Todoroki's ice.

Glancing back Todoroki narrowed his eyes and tried to speed up, "More people outside of Class A were able to dodge that than I expected..."

Izuku grinned as he saw a good portion of the students hadn't been caught by Todoroki's.

"It's exactly as Kenshi said, Todoroki?" Izuku shoutedly asked as he landed on the slippery ice, cracking it underneath his feet, "Don't underestimate anyone today!" He shouted as he continued to run with the ice breaking by each step.

Izuku glanced around and he saw other students that weren't caught in Todoroki's ice. Such as Mina who used her Acid to skate across the ice, or Tokoyami using Dark Shadow to push him off the ground.

The young dragonoid made sure to keep an eye out for any interesting or dangerous quirks he might run into later on in the Sports Festival.

Looking back, Kenshi was both surprised and pleased to see Shinto pushing himself across the ice with a weapon in hand. A staff.

'It looks like he took my advice,' Kenshi thought with a grin as he looked forward, but was surprised to see what was just ahead of him. "Well... didn't see that coming."

The student just ahead of Izuku and Kenshi was none other than the perverted Mineta, throwing his grapes onto the ice floor and bouncing on them with a surprising amount of agility and speed. Hell, he even did a perfect flip forward before landing on one of his grapes. It didn't take long for the little pervert to become second in the race.

"...I guess he made it into the hero course for a reason after all."

"I've outwitted you, Todoroki!" Mineta shouted while in midair with an evil grin on his face, "How pathetic!" As he started to fall, Mineta's hands slowly moved to his head, "Take this! My special attack!"

"He already came up with his own special attack?" Izuku and Kenshi couldn't help but feel not only shocked, but a little impressed, "Now if only he could stop being a creepy pervert he might actually make a decent hero."

Mineta plucked one of the grapes from his hand and held it back, ready to throw. "Gra-"

WHAM*

Mineta was cut off when something hard slammed into his side, sending him flying. Kenshi was so shocked by the sudden attack, he stopped in his tracks and caught the little pervert.

"What the hell, Mineta!" Kenshi shouted out the teen before he realized what hit him as he heard machine parts move.

"Target, found."

They looked to the side to see the very same robots from the entrance exam.

"Lots!"

The once thin trail led to a large field of robots, ranging from 1 pointers all the way to 3 pointers.

'Where the hell does UA get the money for these things?' Izuku muttered as he clenched his fist. pulled up

The sudden appearance of robots was enough for everyone to stop in their tracks and assess the situation.

Looking up ahead Izuku paled at what he saw and made him give a weak laugh, "Well that's not very fair."

"Obstacles have shown up suddenly! Starting with... the fist barrier!"

"Robo Inferno!"

Near the center of the big field were a small group of Zero-Pointer robots.

"Aren't those the zero-point villains from the entrance exam!?" Kaminari yelled with a shocked look on his face, and he wasn't the only one.

"Seriously!? The hero course had to fight those!?"

"This is what they meant by obstacles!?"

"There are too many! I can't get through that!"

"What the hell is wrong with UA!"

Todoroki kept his guard up as he glared at the robot, "So this is what they used in the general entrance exam?"

"I wonder where they got the money for this?" Momo said in a much calmer voice, looking barely fazed.

"Right!?" Izuku shouted, glad someone else other than him finally asked that question.

Glancing over the field Izuku started to formulate a plan, 'The sides of the field are covered with the smaller robots, while the center only had a few and the Zero-Pointers. If I aim for the sides, it will take me longer to make it to the exit, not only that I'd have to deal with a small army of robots. If I go to the center, I save time, but I'll have to face the Zero-Pointers. UA did this on purpose.' Izuku thought as he tightened his fist. "They want to see who has the guts, power, and skill to face a giant robot in order to win. I may not have power, but I have guts and skill!"

Suddenly one of the Zero-Pointers moved and started to attack Todoroki.

The ice user was already moving, "If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would've prepared something better." He said as he placed his hand on the ground, freezing it in an instant, "Since my old man is watching."

Throwing his hand forward a large wall of ice crashed into the Zero-Pointer's hand, stopping it in its tracks and covering it in ice. Todoroki let out a small breath before running forward between the robot's legs.

Kenshi couldn't help but feel his jaw drop slightly. He knew Todoroki was so much more powerful than him, he had only seen him in two fights, and he could tell that his level of power was almost off the charts. As everyone stared at the frozen robot in shock and awe, Kenshi noticed the slight movements it was making.

Kenshi's eyes widened as a grin crossed his face, "Todoroki, you clever son of a bitch!"

"Between the legs! We can get through!" Someone shouted with glee, but Izuku knew better.

"I wouldn't if I were you," Todoroki called back just as the robot started to break off the ice. "I froze it when it was unbalanced. It'll fall over."

Just as Todoroki said, the giant robot fell over and created a large dust cloud.

"Todoroki from class 1-A! He attacked and defended in one hit! How elegant!" Present Mic shouted through the mic, "Amazing! He's the first one through! It's, you know, practically unfair!"

"His actions are logical and strategic."

"As expected of someone who got in through recommendation! He'd never fought them before, but those Robo Infernos couldn't get past his elite moves!"

Kenshi coughed as his second eyelid wiped away the dust in his eyes, but the grin on his face was still present, "Mother said anything was fair in this race, even making things harder for everyone else." He said before letting out a breath of air before his eyes hardened, "I've got to hurry, can't let Todoroki get too far ahead." He said before he started to move.

In the stands Kenshi's family looked at their son, impressed at the young dragonoid. Zenjin was proud of his son, from the small movements it looked he was beginning to develop a martial art based around his draconic features, he would have to properly teach his son. Sakura was very proud, not only did her son develop multiple different ways to use his emissions but many looked to be vastly different to the way she uses them. Yamato on the other hand was proud of his son for not only helping a fellow classmate but also because he outsmarted another classmate.

"What kind of technique is he using now?" Sakura asked them as they watched Kenshi slice through a 2-pointer with the plasma coil in his left before doing the same to a 1-pointer on his right.

"He calls them Plasma Coils and as you've seen they can latch onto objects and cut through others," Yamato said as they watched Kenshi lean back to avoid some type of yellow circle.

They then watched Kenshi look at the user, only to watch her stick her before blocking another robot with a red circle.

"Am I seeing that correctly," Zenjin asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You are," Yamato said as he looked away with shame in his tone. "I idiotically tried to enter Kenshi in a Quirk Marriage, however-"

"However your wife put a stop to that," Sakura interrupted him.

"She did," Yamato said with a sigh before returning his gaze back at the monitor. "I wasn't expecting them to remain such good friends."

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!"

Once Izuku saw the robots moving in on them he ran forward as fast as he could.

"Hey! Someone's trapped underneath!" Someone shouted in worry.

"Wouldn't that kill them?"

"Will people die at this Sports Festival!?"

Izuku would have ran to the fallen robot to help, if he hadn't seen who it fell on.

Not even a second later a familiar redhead burst through the fallen robot, looking more annoyed than injured.

"Like I'd die!" Kirishima shouted while using his hardening quirk.

"Kirishima from class 1-A was underneath! That's crazy!"

Kirishima let out a sigh before glaring ahead, "Todoroki you bastard! He timed it on purpose so it'd land right in our way. If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!"

Suddenly another hole in the robot started to form not far from Kirishima, grabbing his attention.

"That class A..." A second later a familiar teen from class B bust through, though this time his skin was a sleek silver, "Really is filled with bastards!"

"Tetsutetsu from class 1-B was also underneath! That's crazy!"

Tetsu let out a sigh before glaring ahead, "If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!"

Izuku raised an eyebrow at the familiar teen as he analyzed his quirk, "Steel/Transformation quirk: Cover his body in a steel like coating, most likely using the iron in his blood to do so. Counter: Wear down steel until it breaks, trap the person in a lock. High amounts of heat is also possibly able to melt steel."

Izuku found it slightly surprising there was someone so similar to Kirishima just one class away. Izuku also noticed that this upset Kirishima greatly, he knew Kirishima hated how little he stood out, now he had to deal with someone with the same quirk he had.

"Small world," Izuku muttered before he saw something coming at him from the corner of his eye.

There was a 1-Pointer and a 3-Pointer rolled up to Izuku with it's arms raised, "Target lock-"

In a single motion Izuku launched an air blast at the robot without even turning around, tearing off its head and stopping it in its tracks. Izuku was about to do the same to the 3-Pointer well when Kawakami punched the 1-Pointer with one of her Hephaestus Fits before shifting her build into a cannon and blasting another 1-Pointer. With that Izuku dipped low before running at full speed.

Thanks to his training with his dad for the past two weeks, Izuku felt like he had gotten faster, and his reflexes were sharper.

When Izuku got close to one of the Zero-Pointers he raised his fist before punching the trends, before jumping its head.

"It appears Class 1-A Izuku Midoriya is making his way ahead of the Zero-Pointer!"

As Izuku jumped off the Zero pointer knee he noticed that it raised its arm at him. Acting fast Izuku jumped on the arm and began to run the length to its shoulder. He let out a sigh of relief.

However it was short lived.

"Deku!"

Turning around Izuku saw Bakugo flying right at him with a glare in his eyes.

"Class 1-A's Bakugo! Since the bottom's blocked, he's going overhead! Clever!"

Izuku also noticed two others not far behind the blond, Sero and Tokoyami. Seeing as they would be there soon, Izuku started to run to the edge of the robot's giant head. Once their Bakugo landed while glaring at the green brawler.

"Deku, get back-"

Bakugo was cut off when Izuku spun around and launched an air blast at him. Acting fast the blond rolled out the way.

"Damn it Dek-"

BANG

As Bakugo looked up he didn't have enough time to dodge the second air blast.

"Oh, right in the kisser!"

"Deku, get back-"

"See you later Bakugo!" Izuku shouted as he jumped off the robot, leaving a shunned but very pissed off Bakugo.

As Izuku fell he quickly did a flip before kicking the air slowing his descent, once he landed on the ground safely, before he started to run again.

Suddenly, large explosions started to go off behind him, making Izuku glance back. The greennette was surprised to see Momo had not only created a cannon, but also was able to knock down three Zero-Pointers.

"Damn, who knew the Vice-president was such a badass!" Izuku muttered before he noticed more and more students were catching up, one of them being an angry Bakugo, "Need to pick up the pace!"

Looking ahead Izuku saw two more Zero-Pointers, and a few numbered-pointers. Suddenly he saw a blue blur heading towards the lead Zero-Pointers, making Izuku grin.

As Kenshi flew into the air before stopping and accelerating with a blast of fire, electricity streamlined him and ice hardened his head. He pierced through the Zero Pointer's head.

"Woah, Class 1-A's Hayabusa Kenshi shows off a devistanting move!"

"Incoming!" He heard Izuku call back jokingly before he dodged another robot and continued to run again.

"Damn it 1-A!"

The Zero-Pointer fell on its side, only blocking half of the exit giving more than enough room for the students. Despite Izuku being ahead of quite a few students they quickly caught up thanks to their quirks. Izuku didn't really care, he was going to win no matter what.

"Hey, Hey! The first barrier's were a piece of cake? Then what about the second?"

When Izuku reached the second stage he stopped head in his tracks with his eyes wide, along with a dozen other students.

"If you fall, you're out! If you don't want to fall, then crawl!"

"It's-"

"The Fall!"

A large field was just a giant pit, with giant stone columns connected by steel ropes.

"When did they build this stage?" Ochako asked with a shocked look.

"Most likely someone with an earth quirk helped make this," Izuku said while glancing over the pillars. "Now they're testing out our speed, balance, and guts to see if we can pass this. Looks like I was right, each barrier is some kind of test that will show us off."

As Izuku started to think, he saw Tsuyu walk to the edge of the pit.

"Tsu?" Mina asked with some confusion before Tsuyu jumped onto one of the steel wires.

Tsuyu landed perfectly on the rope before she started to climb across, "Ribbit, this is like a glorified tightrope."

"Wow she's fast!" Mina shouted in shock.

Izuku put a hand on his chin with a thoughtful look on his face, "Huh, tight rope?" He said before a grin crossed his face, "Well if that's the case..."

The young greenette started to cross the rope while holding his hands out to keep balance.

"Wow, Izuku has a lot of balance!" Ochako said in a shocked tone as the greennette was already half way across.

"Deku!" Izuku glanced back to see Bakugo flying his way, a mad grin on his face, "Eat my dust!"

Bakugo blasted past the brawler, his explosions shaking the rope greatly. Izuku grit his teeth as he tried to keep balance, but quickly lost his footing.

"Shit!" Izuku shouted as he fell off the rope.

"Izuku!" Ochako called out in worry.

"I got you!"

Izuku slammed into a red Glyph.

"Urg," Izuku groans as he stands up on his classmate's emission. "Thanks Sakai."

Izuku jumps onto the nearest pillar however the force of his jump scatters the glyph, only for the scattered pieces to reform into complete glyphs. Rin, Mina and Ochako jump from glyph to glyph.

As they all land on the pillar they see Kenshi fly overhead and over the entire obstacle.

"Wow it looks I missed the free advertisement," A pink haired inventor said as she tried to catch her breath, this was Mei Hatsume. "Damn you guys are fast but thanks to my babies I'll catch up soon!"

Sora rides up next to Mei on her Apollo Engine to see her at the edge of the cliff with a big smile on her face. The pink haired girl was decked out in tons of gadgets with a pair of goggles, a grapple belt and some type of modified boots.

"Nice gear, did you make them yourself?" Sora asks while eyeing the gear.

"I did!" Mei says before eyeing the bike, "What about you did you make that bike yourself?"

She quickly started to examine the bike and spouted questions a kilometer a minute, however Sora interrupted her, "How are you able to do this if we make it to the second round? I will show you the blueprints."

Mei shots up and yells, "Deal!"

With that Mei jumped off the cliff, as she fell she fired a cable from her hip, the arrow soured across the giant pit and hit a pillar. She is then pulled to the pillar before activating her hover boots and traveling up to the top. When Mei landed on the pillar her hover boots allowed her to glide across the stone before she shot up at high speeds. It didn't take long before she shot herself into the air while landing on a pillar close to the center of the field.

Sora saw all of this and acted. She retracted her Apollo Engine back into her body and created something new. A mechanical Zipline trolley, she began to travel up to the pillar. She easily caught up to the pink haired inventor.

While the two techno heroes had their race, the other group of four became five with the addition of Akane, who had used her acrobatics to catch up to them. They had come up with an order; Mina, Ochako, Izuku, Akane and finally Rin.

As the five of them got to the five of them reached the end of the second obstacle Mina threw Izuku on top of Ochako. The cameras caught a preferred view of the two blushing teens. Izuku quickly got off of her and began to slam his head on a metal pole, while Ochako became an even larger blushing mess.

Mina begins to laugh hysterically and starts guiding Ochako away. Rin has an embraced blush on her face while Akane walks over to Izuku and pats him on the back before the two of them begin to continue on with the race.

"A Lot of different people are working hard for their chance, huh, Eraserhead?"

"What are you idiots stopping for?" Aizawa said in an annoyed tone, he clearly hated the fact that such a large number of students had simply stared at the giant crater instead of doing something.

It was then Izuku noticed that Bakugo was closing in on Todoroki fast thanks to his explosion quirk.

"And now, the leader of the pack is easily getting through first!"

Todoroki glanced back as he ran, seeing Bakugo flying through the air, "Looks like he's getting fired up. A slow starter?" Todoroki thought as he noticed his bruised cheek, "Or anger?" He thought before picking up the pace.

"Damn it!" Bakugo yelled before he let off a second explosion.

Izuku grit his teeth as he found himself at the second barrier, along with a bunch of other students.

"And now, we've quickly arrived at the final barrier! The reality here is... that it's a-"

"Minefield!"

True to the pro-hero's words, when one of the students stepped on a dark brown circle it exploded in a pink dust, sending him flying. Izuku noticed that Bakugo and Todoroki were neck and neck, both fighting for first place and Kenshi was closing the gap quickly.

"It's set up so that you can tell where the mines are if you look carefully! So you have to exploit your eyes and legs!"

'Now they're testing our reflexes, critical thinking, and seeing if we can keep calm under pressure,' Izuku thought as he started to come up with a plan.

"By the way, these landmines are for games, so they're not that powerful, but they're loud and flashy enough to make you wet your pants!"

"That depends on the person."

Izuku analyzed the explosion and minefield while narrowing his eyes, 'The mines release a minor explosion that's similar to a concussion grenade, loud and big enough to throw a person off, but no shrapnel or extreme force to seriously hurt someone. The mines also seem press sensitive, if someone steps on the dark circles hard enough it will trigger the mine off, so shockwaves won't set them off.' He thought before looking at the other students already on the field, 'Those in the lead are already at a disadvantage, since the mine concentration is so high. The only ones who can easily get across are the flyers, but most are so worn out that they're hanging back and trying to make sure they at least cross the finish line.'

Izuku grit his teeth as he activated his quirk and took off. He increased his quirks output to around 25% in his legs with 20% in the rest of his body, the explosions rolled off of him.

In less than a minute Izuku was catching up to the leaders, Kenshi was not only in the fight for first but was also winning.

"In the lead are Bakugo and Todoroki! They'll get through the last barrier soon!"

"Not if I have anything to do about it!" Izuku yelled with a grin as he continued to run through the minefield.

The series of explosions went off causing everyone on the field to stop in their tracks and turn back, staring at the huge line of explosions in shock. The closest students covered their faces from the explosion force, trying not to fall back.

"Woah what's with that trail of explosions in the back!? It looks like a person!"

When the explosions finally died down someone finally came out of the pink mist with surprising speed.

"Hold on, that is a person! Wait a minute everyone! That's... Izuku Mydoriya from class 1-A!?" Present Mic shouted in shock, "And he's in hot pursuit of first place!"

Izuku grinned wildly as he raced over the ground, it was then he noticed Akane and Rin riding on Sora's Apollo Engine. Akane was giving directions, Rin was buffing the bike and Sora was obviously stirring.

Izuku thought to himself, 'Damn it as it stands I'm guaranteed at least fourth, that's better than nothing but I'll aim for third!'

With that he increased the output in his legs to 27% however when a different kind of explosion went off in front of him, making Izuku's eyes narrow.

"Deku! You won't go ahead of me!"

"We'll see about that!"

"Don't think I'm out of this!"

"I'm not going to lose!"

Todoroki glared ahead as he froze the ground before he started to run at full speed. Thanks to him freezing the ground he wouldn't have to worry about setting off any more mines.

"Woah the three leaders have stopped fighting and are now trying for first but the fight's not over yet!"

Everything seemed to slow down for Izuku. Bakugo and Todoroki were neck and neck while Izuku and Sora were caughting up fast. Kenshi on the hand slipped into his elements and accelerated exponentially.

Izuku knew he could get into the top five as he was now but he was ultimately aiming for first. He was already pushing his limits and if he pushed himself even further than he ran the risk of breaking his bones.

'I could push myself past my limits and get first but I'd most likely break my leg,' He thought to himself as Bakugo and Todoroki began to pull ahead. 'I have years to become Number 1, one year of highschool won't do that much damage.'

In a fluid motion Izuku intentionally tripped on a pothole and went into a pure scorpion, allowing Bakugo and Todoroki to continue down their paths.

"Woah, wipe out!"

Gritting his teeth Izuku rushed back into the race right next to Akane, Rin and Sora on her Apollo Engine. But it's Kenshi who accelerates past them all.

"Eraserhead, your class is amazing! What're you teaching them!?"

"I didn't do anything. They got each other fired up on their own."

Kenshi had finally reached the end of the minefield and flew into the long tunnel with a bright light at the end, 'Time to pick up the pace!' Kenshi took a deep breath before holding it and suddenly his speed increased.

Normally it would be bad to hold your breath, but in bursts, it could help you gain just enough speed to win. And just in time, as Bakugo and Todoroki were using their quirks in the small tunnel to try and gain any kind of speed. Sora also modified her Apollo Engine to have a nitro booster.

"UA sports festival, first-year stage!"

"Not Listening!?"

"Who could've predicted the developments at the beginning or this conclusion?"

But it wasn't enough, as Izuku had just reached the light at the end of the tunnel.

"Right now, the first person back in the stadium is that young man, the dragon student of UA! HAYABUSA KENSHI!"

Izuku could only hear cheers and shouts from every single person in the stadium cheering for his classmate. The young brawler was panting hard, completely out of breath as sweat dripped from his head. He gripped his fist tight as he heard the cheers for not just his classmates but also him as well. He could already feel the tears in the corner of his eyes.

'I did it mom... I did it,' Izuku thought before he turned to the finish line.

"IZU-IZU-IZU!" Inko cried as she tried to shout out her son's name, only for it to come out a babble in her own apartment.

"Way to go son!" Zenjin shouted as a low rumbling emitated from his chest, "He did it!"

"He did it, he did it, Kenshi won!" Sakura cheered while snowflakes began to fall from hair, sparks of electricity arched from her fingers and embers emitted from her ankles.

"I knew he could do it." Yamato said while crossing his arms.

Meanwhile

"Wow, so that's your cousin," A figure says as they look at a strange floating orb.

With a nod another figure replies with, "It is, be sure to examine every bit of him. Though neither of you can be the head it doesn't mean you can't be rivals."

"Yes father," the younger of the two nods his head.

Elsewhere

Shigaraki was scratching his neck excessively to the point he started to bleed. He wanted to punch the TV more than anything, but he didn't want to miss anything either.

Suddenly a dark laugh escaped the villain's mouth, "Get stronger Brawler and climb the ranks, so when I finally bring you down, it will be fun to see you fall."

Inside the teacher's booth All Might was clapping slowly along with the rest of the teachers, but couldn't help but shake with excitement and pride as he looked down at his son.

Throughout the race the pro-hero couldn't help but feel worried about his teenage son. Yet through the three barriers Midoriya handled each one like a pro, for better or worse.

'This Sports festival is a competition where they have to aim for the top, even if it means defeating their friends and classmates. Modern heroes depended a lot on their popularity, so they need to have that desire to be above all others,' All Might thought as he looked down at Izuku with a smile. 'At your core, you are a hero whose desire is to save lives and help others. That is what I saw in you that day a year ago, and I'm sure your master saw the same in you,' All Might then grow a small frown on his face. 'But I was worried that may also be your one weakness, your desire to help others may out shine your desire to win.'

All Might then clapped his hands together with a smile on his face, "I was worrying over absolutely nothing! Sorry!"

"What do you think?" An individual with tall brown hair that almost looked like a tower said.

"First of all, Hayabusa's stocks were already high thanks to him being the student representative. They only climbed faster thanks to him coming first in the obstacle race." Someone with classes said.

"Yes, yes despite clearly being skilled in many areas, he still has an intimidation debuff so it'll be hard to predict how far he will go," A dark-haired teen said with swirls on his cheek said. "If you took on management of an agency, how would you market him? Options?" Swirls asked the two people next to him.

"His appearance, if marketed correctly, could be the next Hawks," Glasses said while tilting his head. "He is quite handsome in appearance."

"He's clearly particular about his quirk and athletic capabilities, we could highlight those parts," Hair said while rubbing his chin. "Also, we can use the fact he is a dragon to our advantage."

"How so?" Swirls asked.

"Globally dragons are seen as creatures of powers and symbols of powers. We haven't seen the extent of emissions but if he's only at the same levels as the Todorokis then he could definitely stand alongside the likes of Endeavor," Hair said with a grin. "A literal top ten contender."

"Worst comes to worst we could also pass it as a divine destiny," Glasses said as he wrote down what he just heard.

The business, or management course, were classes used to train students in the art of business. Because heroes now-a-days need popularity in order to survive, hero agenesis needs a skilled manager to handle the heroes' popularity, and advise them on how to gain more attention. The hero business was very cut throat, heroes fight for attention in order to get higher pay from the government for equipment and livelihood.

Just above the three students was All Might, looking down with an amused smile, 'The business course! They never change, huh?' All Might thought with a laugh as he sat back in his chair, 'Don't rest just yet Midoriya, you're far from finished.'

Down below Izuku started to catch his breath as he noticed more and more people were exiting the tunnel. It wouldn't be long before everyone had finally come through and rest from the long race.

"And done, they're finishing one after another! We'll make a list of results later, but for now, good work!"

Izuku smiled to himself as he rubbed the tears out of his eyes. He was a little embarrassed. He cried in front of so many people, he hoped nobody saw him cry.

"Izuku!" The young hero turned around to see Ochako walk up to him, completely out of breath, "You were amazing!"

Not far away Iida had a dark cloud over his head. Clearly disappointed he didn't come first despite having a speed base quirk.

"That's so frustrating, dang it!" Ochako said in a playful tone, making Izuku laugh.

"Don't worry Uraraka I'm sure you'll be able to go far in the next round," He comforted his friend.

A little ways away, "Wow your builds are just as cute as my own babies!" Mei shouted behind the two, making them jump, "Do you think we could collaborate on a few future babies?" Mei shoutedly asked before she grabbed the mechanic's shoulders, catching her off-guard and making her eyes widen, "I knew I could count on you!"

"No problem Mei," Sora said with a slight blush as she felt their breasts press against each other. "By the way, what place did you come in?"

Mei pulled back and gained a thoughtful look on her face, "Somewhere in the top 40 I think. I thought about hanging back, but when I saw you showing off our builds I didn't want to fall behind and thanks to my hover boots the minefield wasn't a problem."

Sora nodded with a smile, "At least everyone came out unharmed." She said before turning to the tunnel, when he saw who it was he deadpanned, "Well, physically unharmed, mentally..." He let the word hang in the air as everyone followed his line of sight.

The person who was stumbling just outside the tunnel was none other than Momo, who looked exhausted with her shirt open revealing her sports bra. What really caught everyone's attention was the little pervert Mineta clinging to Momo's backside with his grapes. The little teen had a huge bruise on his cheek and had blood running down his nose, whether it was from the hit from the robot or arousal nobody knew.

"This isn't how it was supposed to..." The poor girl was too exhausted to finish her sentence.

Mineta gave a laugh of victory as he still hung close to Momo's body, "I killed two birds with one stone!" Mineta shouted in victory as if he won the race, "I'm a genius!"

"You're the worst!" Momo yelled at the short teen as she tried to shake him off, but he wasn't giving up.

"...That's one way to complete the race," Izuku said while rubbing his eyes. "Kenshi! Iida!"

"Mineta! Get off of our vice-president this instant!" Iida yelled as the two of them zoomed over to the young girl and pulled the little pervert off, "You should be ashamed!"

"No~" Mineta cried in agony as he reached for Momo, who stepped back with a shiver, "Let me hold her a little longer, let me at least feel her che-"

"Mineta!" The little pervert slammed his mouth shut as he heard his name from Kenshi, who sounded pissed, "If you don't get 50 feet away from Momo right now, that shiner you got from the robot will be like a love tap when I'm through with you." The dragonoid said in a low tone as he glared at the teen, who stopped resisting and looked ready to piss himself.

Momo gave a sigh before turning to Kenshi, "Thank you Kenshi, Iida and Izuku, now I can finally rest." The girl said with a smile just before she fell to the ground.

After about another five minutes of waiting it wasn't long before every person came through the race. Everyone soon gathered together again and stood in front of Midnight.

"The first game of the first year stage is finally over. Now let's take a look at the results!"

On the holo-screen were the top 42 students to complete the obstacle course.

Izuku smiled as he saw Shinso's name on the board. He didn't see much of the teen's fighting skills, but if he got this far despite being in the general education course then he must have done some serious training.

Kenshi(POV)

"The top 42 made it through to the next round. It's unfortunate, but don't worry even if you didn't make it!" My mother said with a smile, "We've prepared other chances for you to shine." She said before licking her lips, "The real competition begins next! The press will be all over it! Give it your all!" She then whipped her riding crop, causing the screen behind her to turn into the same slot machine from the beginning and start spinning.

"Now time for the second game! But I already know what it is!" Midnight said in a teasing tone, grabbing everyone's attention. "What could it be, what could it be?" She continued to tease, making everyone shake with anticipation. "I just said it, and now it's here!" She shouted as the machine came to a stop.

Scavenger Hunt

"A Scavenger Hunt?" Kaminari groaned with a look of dread, "I suck at those."

"It's like Izuku said, the second event will narrow down the competition, I wonder how that will work," Tsuyu wondered out loud.

"Let me explain." Midnight said, grabbing everyone's attention again.

This was welcomed, many not even Izuku and Kenshi recognized the event. Sora on the other hand did, but thought it would be better to let her sensei explain.

"The event is rather simple, sixteen items will be spread around a simulated cityscape in this case Training Ground Delta. Your task is to simply find and keep one of these items on your person by any means necessary for the full duration of the event," Midnight explained. "We'll even provide these nifty devices that will help you track the items," The pro hero explained, as little robots came out from the stadium walls and began handing students circular devices that had a map interface with multiple different coloured dots.

However Kenshi didn't get one for some reason, he reckoned it was just a mistake on the robots part and would covertly ask his mother for one later so as to not embarrass everyone in front of the crowd.

"Now you may notice that there are only fifteen items showing up on your map, well the reason for that is simple. Item number sixteen is right here," The woman said, holding up a golden laurel wreath. "This is the hero's crown, and of course it belongs to whoever is in first place," The pro then threw the wreath at Kenshi who caught it effortlessly and looked at the headpiece pensively.

"I should have figured as much," I couldn't help but to mutter to myself, before looking over at his fellow students, Katsuki and Todoroki were glaring at him with an intensity of predators.

This was just my idea of a fun time.

"Kenshi over here also doesn't have a tracker, because well, he should know the location of one of the items at all times anyway, the pressure on those at the top is building, but isn't that what plus ultra means?" Midnight smiled sadistically, "The event will last fifteen minutes, and you may only carry one item at a time, quirks are allowed, however, we will be watching, purposely trying to cause permanent damage to your fellow contestants will lead to an instant disqualification, you'll be going to the stage shortly. Also leaving the bounds during the event with one of the items will also lead to a disqualification. Will all the competitors please exit the arena to enter the buses. After arriving you'll have fifteen minutes before the event begins and an additional bonus five minute head start for Kenshi."

I gave my mother a weak chuckle before looking at her with determination in my eyes, "Standing at the top always comes with a price, you got to fight off everyone if you want to hold it."

"That's right." Midnight said happily, "It's survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!" She said before cracking her riding crop, "Welcome to the Survival Game!"

I forced a grin on his face as he stood tall, "This is my type of game and I have to say." I then threw my fist in the air, "Bring it on!"

Midnight grinned as she licked her lips, "That's what I like to hear, the passion of youth!" She yelled while cracking her riding crop again with more force, "Now then you have the bus ride to the ground belta 15 to form your team!"

Instantly the large group of students broke off and started to form their groups. Practically everyone formed groups with their classmates, both for practicality, and the rivalry between classes.

I started considering my options, well, there wasn't all that many to consider, everyone knew where I was going to be at all times thanks to this stupid laurel wreath I'd been given, my own lack of tracker didn't matter much, since I didn't need to look for items himself, just protect the one I had.

The only way I could think of successfully doing that for fifteen minutes was to run away for the whole duration, I could handle either Todoroki, Bakugou or Izuku in a fight, I was sure of that, but the chance of me winning against the three of them gunning for my whilst anyone else who wanted first place doing the same was not a number I was fond of.

I could easily split myself into three and run around and combat any opponent without much issues, especially if it came to one vulnerable to one of my elements, but I was stuck in an enclosed area with a tracker slapped to his head, which made standing around waiting to run away at the first sight of danger implausible, however three separate points of view meant my personas had a limited range and then there was the fact that if Hagakure was around, all sneaky and naked, which was really a downside.

I also made a side note to ask Sora to help her out with that later.

I could just run for a solid fifteen minutes, but that was horribly inefficient and I could easily get trapped in a cityscape, or forced out of the area and disqualified.

I entered one of the buses with a single conclusion, I needed a plan to maneuver and or hide easily.

I had an idea that was super risky because I would basically be fighting anyone and everyone he came across but my goal for this event wasn't necessarily to fight, just to keep my item on me for the duration.

As I was making up my mind I finally noticed that the bus was moving and the rest of Class 1-A, I couldn't help but to spend the rest of the ride eavesdropping on my classmates' plans. People had formed teams, which seemed like an obvious option, and perhaps one I should have considered myself but I wasn't sure I wouldn't be backstabbed, and there was no guarantee being in a team would be helpful. What if only one item was retrieved between multiple people?

Obviously, they would have to duke it out between them to go to the next round.

Sure I felt that I could probably lead a small squad and gather enough items for all of them, but running any kind of operation with two monsters on my ass was detrimental to everyone on my side at best, and I didn't want to drag people in my leadership down with my own problems.

Besides, being in a large congregation of items was just painting another target on my back, and I just didn't feel like participating in siege warfare today.

Was I a little miffed that not a single person, not even my friends, even came up to me to ask if I wanted to team up? No, not at all, in fact I wouldn't expect anything less from Akane, Sora or Rin.

I mean I did train with them.

Eventually, we made it to Training Ground Beta where all forty two participants exited the buses and began to scatter around the edge waiting for the event to start.

"Alright kid," I turn to see Vlad King standing at the entrance of the city. "You have five minutes."

I nod to him in acknowledgment and begin to rocket myself into the simulated city.

It is then I came to a realization, 'Everyone can find me and will know where I am, so what if they didn't?'

With a toothy grin I put my plan into action.

3rd(POV)

Vlad King stood at the entrance of Delta with a hand raised ready to single the students to begin the event and the other held the stopwatch keeping time. Time was almost up for Hayabusa's head start.

"Alright competitors you may begin, now," Vlad says with the drop of his arm.

However before they moved the trackers activated showing that two other dots were moving.

"That reptile bastard is just taunting me now," Bakugo yells, catching everyone's attention and snapping them to their current tack.

With that confirmation the event was finally set under way. Immediately two people took the lead, Katsuki Bakugo took to the skies with his explosions and Shoto Todoroki slid across the ground with a stream of ice. Not far behind them were Class 1-A's Izuku Midoriya running after his classmate and childhood friend, Tenya Iida racing alongside him and clearly taking the lead, Sora Kawakami caughting up to them easily with both Akane Okami and Rin Sakai riding alongside her.

Within a minute all hell broke loose, and fights were starting up left and right or would stop as quickly as they started. It all culminated in three groups cornering Kenshi in a crossway. Within those five minutes Kenshi managed to get two other wreaths.

Izuku was alongside Ochako, Asui, Pony and Shoda. While Bakugo begrudgingly agreed to fight alongside Akane, Eijiro, Togaru and Tetsutetsu. And behind Todoroki much to his chagrin was Kendo, Kaibara, Shishida, and Monoma.

"Well, this is unfortunate," Kenshi said with a calm tone barely any of them could tell there was an undertone of nervousness.

"Alright Kenshi you're surrounded so just hand over the wreath," Akane said as a matter of factly.

"Yeah Ken, just hand it over," Izuku said as he transitioned into a more comfortable battle stance.

Every single student's eyes were on Kenshi like a predator. Every single one of them were like striving animals.

With a low chuckle Kenshi says just loud enough for the others to hear, "It looks like I have no choice but to split up."

At that statement those one 1-A eyes widened in shock and surprise. While the ones in 1-B are a bit confused. That is until Kenshi begins to glow blue.

"Not this time you reptile bastard," Bakugo yells as he begins to rocket towards him with a number of powerful explosions.

"Oh no you don't," Todoroki yells as he sends a wave of ice.

"No, No, No," Izuku mutters as he fires three air blasts.

BOOM

Simultaneously three figures exit the impact from the three attacks; as Bakugo lands on the ground a foot suddenly slams into his gut sending him into Akane and Eijiro.

As the three of them look up, Nova smirks at them, "Caught me if you can." He rockets himself up to the roofs.

"Hey get back here you fire lizard," Bakugo yells before blasting off to the roof himself.

From the ice Todoroki sent out the image of Glacius bursts out of the ice with an ice katana in hand, he slices out at Todoroki as he steps back into Kendo and Kaibara.

Glacius salutes with the katana, "How about Todoroki up for round two?"

Todoroki growls before sending an ice wave at his opponent, Glacius wordlessly flips his ice katana around into a reverse grip and splits the ice with an upward slice.

An air blast Izuku gets atomized when a plasma coil runs through them. His eyes widen in shock as a second plasma coil throws a chunk of debris at him. Izuku breaks it but his eyes widen when one of the coils latches onto his chest.

His group looks at Raiden who smirks and says, "Izuku, Get Over Here!"

With that Raiden pulls the greenette towards him, Izuku yelps in surprise only to be clotheslined into Raiden's arm. As Izuku traveled under his arm Raiden grabbed him and used the greenette's momentum to throw him back into his group.

It was then the three groups realized that this fight will be the highlight of the event.

(Time Skip)

Class 1-A quickly realized that Kenshi was just too organized and was able to fight them as their own group. It really took them less than a minute so his classmates retreated to gain their own places. Class 1-B on the hand we're sticking to their guns.

Admittedly Kenshi was starting to become overwhelmed but he was trained well enough to hide it.

Glacius blocked several blade strikes from Kamakiri before shoulder checking him away, kicking away Rin, he then bucked under Kendo's big fist before backflipping over Shoda.

Nova continuously bobs and weaves out of the way of Kaibara however just as he was about to be cornered and slide under the kids legs.

Then he came face to face with the large figure of Shishida, who raises both of his fists and brings them down. Nova grins as he ducks under the twin fist and elbowed the large beast in the center of his waist.

"What the?" Shishida grunts, however Nova jabs him on the edges of his waist, "What are you doing?!"

With two separate kicks to the knees Shishida finally realizes that he's being locked in place. However when he tries to reach out Nova jumps off his knee and jabs at his shoulders. It was then Shishida saw what was locking him in place, blue orbs the size of basketballs. When Nova landed on his other knee he saw determination in his eyes, however he suddenly had to close eyes due to getting a knee to the chin.

"Orion Barrage," Nova's voice rings out before those very orbs explode in the very order they were set.

Raiden was flying through the air on an electrified sewer lid, currently he was concentrating on the rapidly moving objects floating around with a light purple glow, he stopped the small objects with his bioelectrical field before swinging an iron particle staff into them.

"Fire!" A voice said from below.

Suddenly another object impacted the sewer lid and Raiden fell only for him to cushion his fall with electricity.

Just as Raiden was able to caught his breath Tsuburaba circles around him, trapping him in a bubble of solid air. It was then that green thorny vines began to burst out the ground, as they wrapped around Raiden pulled the iron particles from the nearby area to slice through the vines. As he continued to cut the vines he sent out an electrical repulse.

Raiden pulled the iron partials into the shape of a staff, he spun the makeshift staff around before tripping Tsuburaba, he brought it back before slamming it into his back.

Suddenly he felt someone coming at him from behind so he readied a Sound Snap. Channeling electricity into hand he pointed it behind him and snapped. The result was a loud sound wave that pushed back Monoma.

Meanwhile

The other classmates of A-1 initially had the right idea of teaming up as the logical and correct one; it allowed them to cover their flanks and weaknesses however near the end of the event it would be preferable to split up.

Izuku, Ochako and Asui could keep up with each other however Ochako became nauseous so she urged them to go on without her. Unannounced to either of them, Ochoka would actually manage to get her own wreath.

As for Sora, Akane and Rin they initially teamed up however when Sora got a wreath of her own. The group quickly devolved and Sora found herself barricaded in an alleyway and her drones watched over her and a turret blocked the other exit.

With the dragon teens, Raiden ducked under Kendo's swipe before throwing her into the air only Nova to catch her and drop her into Monoma. Glacius sent a stream of ice towards a group of 1-B students to separate them before barely cutting their clothes and beginning to freeze a bit.

"Time's just about up and Team Dragon is still going strong, or will they lose their place in the tournament. Let's start the countdown!"

"Ten!"

"Alright then it's time to go full draconic!" Raiden shouted as he pulled out he whipped out both of his plasma coils.

Nova ignites his hands and feet while Glacius created several floating ice swords of different designs. Unknown to anyone two 1-B students slyly pull the wreaths off of Nova and Glacius' head. Even more unknown to the two students the draconic teens actually knew that their wreaths were stolen.

"Nine!"

"Oh shit stop him!" Monoma yelled, getting all of 1-B torush Kenshi.

Instead of fighting the brothers rushed to the middle of the group.

"Eight!"

BOOM

Suddenly an explosion of a multi shade of blue light went off from the three of them recombining.

"Seven!"

As the force of the explosion quickly died down the figure in the middle of them all shocked them.

"Six!"

A large draconic creature the size of Shishida's true beast form stood in the middle of all of them. Only the emissions were ignited all over his body. His head, whiskers and antlers were covered in frost with his hair turning into ice alongside an icebeard, his midsection, wings and arms were sparking with electricity finally his legs and tail were engulfed in fire.

"Five!"

"Grrrrrrrrrrr," The large dragonoid teen began to growl as he began to stand upright.

"Four!"

"God help us," The soft voice of Shiozaki said to no one in particular but Kenshi heard it.

"How is this possible," Shishida muttered to himself in disbelief.

"THREE!"

"Rrrraaahhhh," he screeches loudly as a form of intimidation but the volume is high enough to make the closet of them drop to their knees with their hands over their ears.

"TWO!"

Kenshi reeled back and stomped on the ground, an unusual wave of fire, ice and lightning blasted out, pushing many of the class 1-B students away and Kenshi began to charge up a breath attack.

"KZZT…" The sound of Kenshi's breath attack charging began to ring out as a faint blue light began to travel up his friels before reaching the top and causing his eyes to begin to glow but at the same time the sound began to reach a crescendo.

"ONE!"

"KSHH," The sound of blast shooting out of his mouth at the students.

The students of 1-B all jump out of the way just in time as the blast of ice hits the size of a building, freezing the corner. The young heroes in training gape at the powerful attack.

"TIME'S UP!"

As soon as those words were said, the stream of ice began to die down and only when the dragonoid teen began to shrink those all of the tension left everyone.

After transforming back Kenshi began to stretch out his neck, "Dang you gangs really pushed me to my limit."

Kendo gaped at me from the ground, "You're limit?"

He nods at them before pulling up his sleeves.

They all gasp at the angry growing veins on his arm, "Yeah I'm at my limit." He then offers a hand to Monoma, "Do you need help?"

Monoma hesitantly grabs Kenshi's arm and gets pulled up to his feet.

Kenshi's breath went from a heavy breathing to a more controlled breath, "You guys really gave me a run for my money."

He then led the group towards the buses and eventually rode back towards the stadium. The ride back was awkward and silent. Upon arrival we line up on the concrete plate.

Random thoughts of the vicious fighting replayed throughout Kenshi's mind, he stood in front of Midnight's stage waiting for her to announce the sixteen winners of this round. It wasn't like he couldn't tell just based on who was currently slated or smug, and who was downtrodden, and one blonde that was apparently cursing his 18 generations or something?

"Now then, let's see which one of you lovely virile youths made it through," The pro hero said with a drawl before licking her lips, the action sent chills down Kenshi's and Izuku's spine, but made the latter's heart speed up a little.

For Izuku and many other young men the woman was scary, but strangely attractive, this particular pro had always been rather confusing to Kenshi's emotions; this was after all the woman who raised him.

"After valiantly defending from the dragon that is 1-B, while being a dragon himself I might add, first place once more goes to our very own student representative, Kenshi Hayabusa!"

The crowd cheered at this declaration. Kenshi had done a lot in the last round, which boosted his confidence just a bit. However he truly began to think about what made the crowd cheer for him; this festival basically amounted to gladiatorial combat for most viewers but he could guess that some people have been rooting for him after his performance in the race, the prestige of continuously being first probably amounted to something as well.

"Following closely behind him, after an impressive display of combat, we have the second and third places from the last round, Katsuki Bakugou and Shoto Todoroki."

The crowd cheered again, it was about the same volume as when they had cheered for him, so Kenshi supposed maybe they were just cheering for the sake of cheering, he never could quite analyze large crowds correctly.

"Alongside them are other students from our frontrunners at class 1-A; Izuku Midoriya, Tenya Iida, Fumikage Tokoyami, Momo Yaoyorozu, Ochako Uraraka, Eijiro Kirishima, Mina Ashido, Sora Kawakami, Rin Sakai and Hanta Sero." Midnight continued, "Even after an intense class battle in the second round Class 1-B refused to leave the limelight, from class 1-B's; Ibara Shiozaki and Tetsutetsu Tetsutesu. And last but certainly not least, the absolute wild card of this event, from the general studies course, we have Shinso Hitosh! These sixteen will proceed to the final event!"

Kenshi gave a sidelong glance at the purple haired boy that had made such bold declarations to him previously.

It was quite impressive that he had made this far, which led the dragonoid to believe his quirk was far more useful that he originally let on. But from what he knew and saw it was in fact unsuitable for battling the robots of the entrance exam and obstacle race, which really begged the question as to why he seemed to be so glum about his own power.

The sound of a machine caught Kenshi's ears and as he turned to that direction he saw one of the doors open. Three construction robots rolled onto the stage.
