Lucy felt her head ache and her ears rang. The explosion she was in was so loud it gave her a minor headache. Although, it appeared the explosion wasn't lethal or even that damaging as she can still move her body and not feel much pain. Perhaps her body has gotten used to these kinds of situations.
She laid on her back as she slowly opened her eyes. The ground felt…fluffy and soft, but still solid where she wasn't sinking through like a water bed. She saw a silhouette approach her, reaching their hand out. The Celestial Wizard's vision became less blurry and realized the person standing above her was none other than Erza Scarlet, the red elegant hair and body armor becoming apparent.
"It looks like you made it through as well." Erza stated. Lucy grabbed her hand and was pulled up from the ground.
Lucy rubbed her head and looked around. The floor was misty like a light fog, there weren't as many clouds above them as there were before they left the guild. However she also noticed some run down looking buildings made from wood. Erza then gestured Lucy to look ahead and when she followed her friend's gaze, she saw a large town in the distance on another cloud separated from the one they were currently on.
"Despite the mishap, we were able to make it in one piece." Erza confirmed.
Lucy wiped her forehead and sighed in relief. "That's good, so where's everyone else?"
'HAPPY! WHERE ARE YOU BUDDY?!" Suddenly, loud screaming was heard several feet away from the two. They saw both Natsu who was desperately looking around for his Exceed companion and Gray who was crossing his arms looking annoyed.
"Keep it down will ya! We're in enemy territory!" Gray scolded. Lucy took quick notice that the angel props on Gray weren't taken off, she felt her head and back and confirmed the 'disguises' didn't fall off or get damaged. The ice wizard took a quick glance around. "Although…I don't see Juvia either…"
Chelia came out from behind the building nearby as she clenched her side in slight pain. "Hey, do any of you see Carla?"
Now that you mention it…" Lucy looked around. "I don't see Gajeel, Sting or Rogue either…"
"This isn't good…" Jellal feared as he limped behind Lucy and Erza. "Not only did we cause a scene at our entrance, but it looks like we were separated in the process." Jellal limped over, clearly struggling to move. Erza quickly helped her old friend up by wrapping an arm around his shoulder and holding him up, the two shared a brief friendly smile.
"We can at least assume everyone else is at least together." Gray reassured as he and Natsu joined the group. "Knowing them, I'm sure they'll be fine for now." He rubbed the back of his head.
Lucy and Chelia suddenly felt a chilly breeze brush against the two as they immediately huddled for warmth. "H-h-hey…isn't it a l-litt-le chi-ll-y up he-re?" Chelia shivered. The rest of the group looked at the two in confusion.
"What're you talking about? I don't feel cold." Puzzled Natsu.
"Yeah, pretty sure it's just you. You two *are* dressing pretty light after all." Gray replied, his shirt suddenly missing.
"Says the one without a shirt…" Lucy mumbled. "Well it's unbearable up here! It feels like we're on Mt. Hakobe all over again!"
"Well, I suppose that makes sense…" Erza concurred. "We are several feet up in the air right now…"
Lucy scrambled in her pockets and pulled out one of her golden keys. "O-open! Gate o-of the Maiden. V-V-V-Virgo!" She summoned as the key shined in a golden light.
A pink haired maid appeared out of the light and bowed towards Lucy. "Good afternoon, princess. What assistance are you in need of today?"
"W-warm clothes! P-p-please!" Lucy requested as she and Chelia huddled even closer. Although, despite the cold, the celestial wizard felt her chest burn slightly.
"Of course." Virgo gestured her arm as a small dressing curtain appeared out of thin air. "I've supplied warm clothes in here, feel free to change."
"Th-thank you!" Chelia thanked as the two ran inside.
Virgo looked at the rest of the group. "Would you like some too?" She asked. Everyone else immediately shook their heads.
Lucy bursts out of the portable dressing curtain and Chelia shortly followed after. They were both wearing fur coats, soft gloves and pants. Lucy patted the coat she was wearing and smiled. "Much better! Thank you, Virgo!" She beamed.
"Of course, princess." Virgo bowed. "Now that I'm no longer of use, is it punish-"
"Okay! Goodbye for now Virgo!" Lucy swiped her key in the air and Virgo quickly vanished. The Celestial wizard once again felt a burning sensation as she clenched her chest and cough slightly.
"Hm? Lucy are you alright?" Chelia took quick notice and looked worried.
"Y-yeah…*cough*" Lucy replied, the pain going away. "It's just a little heartburn."
"Heartburn? Did you eat anything spicy lately?" Gray wondered.
Erza, still holding Jellal with one arm, held her chin with her other arm. From the moment they've arrived here, the atmosphere felt different. The red haired wizard wondered if that feeling had to do with Lucy's sudden heartburn. However she wasn't so sure as of yet and decided to save the thought so they can get their bearings first.
Immediately after that thought, Erza was suddenly snapped out of it as she and everyone else heard shouting in the distance.
Once everyone turned their attention towards the noise, they noticed some sort of object flying towards the closest one at a rapid pace. That person...being Natsu. He widened his eyes and ducked right before the object struck his head and it stabbed the fluffy ground instead. The object appeared to be a rake.
"What do y'all think you're doing?!" A high pitched voice fumed, they flew towards the group and stopped right in front of them. They appeared to be an Exceed with brown fur and black stripes. "Ah don't know who you all are but you better compensate for the damage you caused!"
"Is that…" Gray started.
"Hey! What was that for?!" Natsu chided, pointing at the rake that almost struck him.
"Don't give me that, slant eyes!" The Exceed snapped back. "How about y'all take a look around and see what ya did!"
Natsu glared at the Exceed for a moment before he and the rest of the group checked around their surroundings. They then notice a large hole in the distance with patches of grass surrounding it, as well as several pumpkins falling through the hole. The group had sweat drops leave their head, fully realizing the situation.
Natsu immediately stood up straight and alongside Gray, Chelia and Lucy, they all bowed their upper bodies. "We're so sorry!" They all apologized.
Gray slightly poked his head up as he thought. "She's the same race as Happy and Carla..."
"Ya think some apology is gonna fix that hole y'all just made?!" The Exceed shouted. "Do y'all know how long that took to grow?!"
"Grow? But there's no soil here…" Jellal realized.
Natsu raised his head back up as his eyes met with the brown cat's. "Hey, have you seen a blue cat? He looks a bit like you and his name is Happy." The pinkette inquired.
Lucy raised her head as she gave Natsu a blank expression. "Pretty sure that's jumping ahead there…" She thought.
"Cat? What on Earthland is that?" The Exceed tilted her head, still looking visibly annoyed. "Ah'm an Exceed, not a cat!" She then pointed at Natsu. "And don't go changing the subject!"
"Alivia! Hold on!" A young man was heard as now an angel flew towards the group. He was wearing a tan t-shirt with long black pants. He had short blonde hair and bright green eyes. "Let's not be rude, it looks like these folk got into an accident."
Alivia groaned as she immediately backed off and flew towards the young man. "But y'know that it's been a dry season. Who knows how long it'll be until we get more opportunities to grow our crop! And these nitwits ruined it!" She sneered, glaring at the wizards.
Erza briefly releases Jellal as she approaches the two and raises a palm on her chest. "Once again, we must apologize. We didn't mean to hurt your progress."
The male angel raised his hands and smiled. "Now now, I don't know what kind of stunt you strangers did but there's no need for that." He then lowered his arms. "And call me Henry."
Chelia lets out a sigh of relief that the argument calmed down. She looked back at the semi-large hole and felt a little off about its placement. She then notices more angels and a couple Exceeds around the area, with them staring at the group but not approaching them. She was feeling a little uneasy.
"I don't think I've seen you all around here before. What brings you to our lovely home, strangers?" Henry inquired, smiling wide.
"Forgive our intrusion." Jellal approaches, being able to walk now. "We're…uh…not from around here."
"Ah'm pretty sure we all got that picture by now." Alivia snarked. "That was magic you used, huh?"
Jellal rubbed the back of his head, almost accidentally knocking over the plastic halo. "Magic? Why do you ask?"
Alivia squinted her eyes. "Ya know the rules around her in Exahelm right?"
Gray crossed his arms and tilted his head. "What kind of rules?"
"The number one rule! The one everybody knows!" Alivia explained. "Magic is completely prohibited here unless given special permission!"
Meanwhile, in the busy town far ahead of the farm area. A crowd gathered in front of a bar which was named 'Heaven's Gate' as they were witnessing something they haven't seen before. Earlier, in front of town, there was a big crash which emerged a small group of unique looking people. Now that same group was eating at the bar, or at least one person was.
"You guys have to try this stuff! It's out of this world!" Sting marveled, currently chowing down on several plates of food. He was eating to get his strength back from using so much magic.
"...I'm not interested." Rouge declined.
Everyone else wasn't eating as they sat around the Light Dragon Slayer, waiting for him to finish. Juvia in particular was constantly fidgeting her hands impatiently.
An angel in a black suit who delivered the food was bewildered. "...Are you sure you all aren't hurt?"
Gajeel waved his hand. "Nah, just a flying accident. No biggy."
Carla was currently pinching her nose. "I cannot believe these disguises are working…" She thought before slamming her paws on the table. "Okay! Can you all stop watching us?!"
Immediately after Carla's outburst, everyone suddenly backed off and left the group alone. The crowd outside scattered as well. The white cat sat back down and crossed her arms.
Happy was currently snickering as he whispered. "Heh heh heh…infiltration successful…" The blue cat then looked around and nudged his arms towards Carla. "Hey, Carla…"
"...Yeah…" Carla realized. "I noticed too, there's Exceeds here…"
"Do you think some of the eggs landed here?" Happy wondered.
Carla sighed softly. "I suppose so, no wonder we haven't seen many of them lately…"
"I hope the other Exceeds from Extalia aren't too worried about them…" Happy lamented.
Gajeel decided to attempt and listen in on any conversation in the bar. However, he was distracted as Happy's wing suddenly brushed off of him.
The Iron Dragon Slayer shoved Happy's wing out of the way. "Gah! Can you cut that out?! You don't need to keep those things open you stupid cat!"
Happy turned to Gajeel. "I can't."
"Huh?"
"I can't put my wings away. I've tried."
Carla sighed. "He's right. For some reason I can't either…" She then proceeded to attempt once again to make her wings vanish, but they remain opened.
Juvia raised her head up. "Juvia has noticed an odd feeling too. Like a bit more pressure in the air?"
Rogue leaned back and crossed his arms while looking at the ceiling. "You're not the only one who's felt the off atmosphere." He then lowered his head and narrowed his eyes towards the group. "This may not be good, we didn't come up with a plan before taking off here."
"I thimk we smould-"
"Finish chewing first, Sting." Rogue rolled his eyes.
Sting swallowed his food before exhaling. "I think our top priority right now is finding the others before doing any plan of action. I'm starting to get my energy back!"
Happy looked down. "I hope Natsu, Lucy and the others are doing okay…"
Gajeel snickered before crossing his arms. "I'm sure that Salamander is doing just fine. A dumb mishap like this ain't gonna cause any trouble." He then slammed one hand on the table. "Now hurry up and pay so we can leave this place!"
Juvia went back to twiddling her thumbs. "Y-yes! What if Gray is hurt…or worse! Talking to another angel woman?!"
"Would you two just calm down! You'll cause a scene!" Carla exclaimed, holding her head in pain. Being seated between the two was making her head hurt.
Sting looked at the three with a deadpan look as he slowly pulled out his wallet. "Jeez, okay okay…" He proceeded to read the receipt to see how much he would have to pay. While the Sabertooth master scanned the receipt, he noticed Rogue stood out of his seat and began walking out. "Hm? What's up, Rogue?"
"Honestly, one of us should've waited outside to keep watch. So I'm doing just that." Rogue answered as he opened the front door. "I hope the others haven't already passed by us." He then left the building as the door swung back closed.
Carla groaned as she muttered to herself. "I can only hope the rest aren't having any issues right now..."
"Are you serious?" Jellal exclaimed, eyes widened. "Magic is prohibited here?"
Alivia glared at Jellal. "See? You guys aren't from around here! Everyone here knows that!" She then pointed her rake towards the group, inching closer to them. "Who are y'all anyways?! Not criminals ah hope!"
Lucy frantically waved her hands. "N-n-now hold on! We're not here to cause you any harm!" She then felt shivers down her spine as the Exceed gave her the stink eye.
Gray began to feel tense. "We just got here and we're already suspected…"
"You lot created that large hole with magic did you?!" Alivia accused, her voice becoming louder and causing a scene.
The group of wizards didn't say anything as they had feelings mixed with worry and tenseness. The blunder they caused earlier did more damage then they could've imagined. Natsu clenches his fists and grinds his teeth. The Fire Dragon Slayer began to debate with himself internally if he should create a smokescreen and escape from the situation.
Erza eyed Natsu and noticed him clench his fists tightly. "Don't do it…Natsu!"
Suddenly, the young blonde angel got in between the group and the Exceed, waving his arms. "Hold on Alivia! I think there's a misunderstanding!"
Alivia slumped her arms and looked annoyed. "Henry, ya know these weirdos ain't trustworthy!"
"Listen to me!" Henry argued. "Didn't you forget what's been going on for the past weeks!" He then pointed at the large hole. "This ain't the first time we got a big hole like this y'know! We just had one a couple days back!"
Alivia cringed. "B-but just look at 'em! They got suspicious written all over their creepy little faces!"
Lucy glared at the Exceed for a moment. "Creepy…?" Her right eye twitches.
Chelia cleared her throat. "May I interrupt?" She started as everyone turned their attention to the dark pink haired girl. "When we got here, we weren't anywhere near that hole. We apologize for the intrusion, but we're travelers coming through this area." She then slightly bowed towards the angel and Exceed.
Alivia eyed the hole once again. She gave an exasperated sigh and eyed the group. "Then ya heard of the news of 'the land walker' then?" Once she said that title, the group's eyes perked up. "Y'all already missed the big celebration ceremony…"
Henry gave a breath of relief as he swiped his forehead with one hand. "Ever since she got here earlier today, it's been more active here in Exahelm than it has been for the past year!"
"This…'land walker' you speak of. They are the one tasked to heal someone here?" Jellal inquired, having a feeling Henry and Alivia are referring to Wendy.
"We've been here the entire time, so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see the lovely lady." Henry rubbed the back of his head. "But from what word has been coming around, she came here to rescue our god from his impending death!"
"I beg your pardon?" Erza was taken aback.
Rogue was leaning towards a building across from the bar. He has occasionally eyed around the area to see if he could spot anyone familiar, but there was no one in sight. He sighed as he began to grow more impatient, he should've realized that Sting wasn't always the best with making payments on his own. The Shadow Dragon Slayer had often stepped in to assist the White Dragon Slayer make his payments.
Rogue's nose then caught a whiff of a foul smell from several feet away. He was able to handle the smell but his sensitive nose still didn't like the stench. He witnessed a large muscular angel strutting towards the bar with a wide grin on his face. The angel then swung the doors open and immediately made his presence known.
"Hey everybody! How's my favorite bar in town running?!" He boomed. All the other angels immediately turned their attention to the new customer and showed signs of excitement, not feeling bothered by his smell.
The bartender flew to the other side of his counter and clapped his hands together. "Argus! Our friend! It's great to see you again!"
Argus leaned one arm on the counter. "HA HA HA! It's always great to see ya! I will never get sick of this place!" He then flexed both of his arms. "Besides, I'm in a GREAT mood today!" He then flipped what appeared to be a blue coin towards the bartender. He snatched it with both palms. "The usual, of course!" Argus requested.
Gajeel pinched his nose as he cringed. "Guh, yeah I'm ready to go now."
As Sting notices the large angel pay with a coin, he tilts his head as he places the jewel on the table. "Hey guys, think that guy is important?"
Carla got out of her seat as she flew in the air. "We don't have time to talk to him right now. Now you've made your payment, yes?" She looked down and noticed the jewel on the table. "Let's hurry and find the others before we make another scene."
The group began to get out of their seats and prepare to leave the bar. They all passed by Argus as the large angel eyed the group before looking at their table. Sting opened the front door before he suddenly heard shouting that appeared to be directed at him.
"Hey! What do you all think you're doing?!" Argus stormed towards the table they left as he picked up the jewel. "You think you can just dine and dash?!"
Sting quickly turned around and began rubbing the back of his head while chuckling. "What do you mean? I left some payment there already."
Argus glanced at the jewel he was holding for a second before looking back at Sting. "You mean this paper stuff?" The large angel proceeded to rip the jewel into pieces. "Sorry pal, but this ain't gonna cut it."
"W-wait! What're you doing?!" Sting gasped.
"Are you sure you read the receipt?" Happy doubted, feeling nervous.
Sting turned to the group while Argus began to approach them. "Of course! The meal was pretty cheap too!"
"...Did you read the kind of currency they used?" Carla wondered with an annoyed expression.
Argus then pointed one finger really close to Sting's face as the angel towered over the dragon slayer. Sting backed up slightly before Argus began to speak. "I don't think I've seen you around these parts! Do you even have any Dalla on ya?!"
"D-Dalla?" stuttered Sting.
Outside of the bar, Rogue noticed the group by the front entrance being suspected by the large angel he saw earlier. "This isn't good…" He thought as he clenched his fists, trying to think of a way to get them out of this.
The rest of the group began to feel tense, Argus' outburst got the attention of everyone in the building. Sting, Juvia and Gajeel were readying themselves for a potential brawl.
However, they were caught off guard when Argus began to laugh out loud and pat Sting on the back. The Sabertooth master wincing in pain after each pat.
"HA HA HA!" Argus laughs. "Well if that's the case then I'll let ya all off the hook just this once!" He gave a thumbs up. "We folk at Exahelm always love meeting new people, so your food is on me!"
Sting was taken aback. "Excuse me…?"
The angels in the bar proceeded to burst out laughing. The group gazed all over the bar, showing visible confusion on the situation.
The bartender flew back to the side of the table towards the entrance and handed Argus his drink. "Paying for stranger's meal again, eh Argus?" He chuckled. "I think this is the third one this week!"
Argus grabbed his drink and scratched his bushy beard. "That so? Better get a counter going then!" He then turned his attention back at the group. "I bet I know why you're all here! Why not take a seat, I'd love to get to know you all!" Argus gestured his arm back to their table as he offered.
Juvia waved both her hands. "O-oh! Juvia appreciates the offer, but we're in a hurry…"
"Hurry for what? HA HA HA!" Argus jokes. "Come on now, don't be a stranger! I promise I won't take much of your time!"
"Grr! We don't have time for this nonsense!" Carla whispered.
Argus turned as he began walking to the table. "I bet you're here for that 'land walking girl' that recently arrived here! The celebration ceremony ended a while ago but I can tell you all about it!"
"...On second thought we could spare a few minutes…" Carla changed her mind.
"Are you serious?" Gajeel muttered.
Back outside, Rogue noticed the situation calm down as his friends began to walk back to their seats with the large angel. He raises an eyebrow as he thought. "What are they doing…?"
Up above the large town of Exahelm, an armored angel was flying alongside a small white ball with bug-like wings. The two were currently making their way towards the next door island where the ranchers are.
The white ball projected Sync as she was in her room laying on her bed and resting her hands on her cheeks. "Are we there yet?"
Balrus was flying as straight as a plank of wood, his path not wavering even slightly. "Thou shalt not be much longer dear Sync. The rancher's farm reveals itself before us." He answers as he lowers his hand. The two approach the other island and they notice the newly formed hole.
Sync sighed. "It's not getting much better huh…?"
"Tis best not to fret about that at this moment in time." Balrus advised. "For now, we must investigate the explosion that master Stark hath witnessed." He then spots a group of people crowded by one of the wooden houses. He came to a complete stop as the white ball ran into Balrus, making a twink sound as it smacked into his armor.
"B-bu~uzz!" The white ball spun around slightly.
Balrus pointed down dramatically as his tusked mustache blew in the wind. "There! Those scoundrels must be the culprits!" The obese angel proceeded to stretch back before rocketing himself down below right towards the group.
"B-Balrus! Wait for meee!" Sync exclaimed as the ball began to follow frantically.
