Stannis ignored the apologies and boot-licking of Lady Whent, the woman was not at fault for the great dragon's actions.

He didn't say anything beyond excusing himself and asking to be taken to his wife who was shaken by the events.

Being the rock of his family, he held both of them and allowed the pair to cry themselves to sleep. He didn't shed a tear, nor did he allow himself to show any weakness, because if he did he might not be able to stop himself from falling.

Something like this couldn't be kept quiet, the fires burned so bright that they could be seen for miles and both the roars and screams of the enraged beasts could be heard even further.

He now understood the actions of the old bat and had to admit that the woman was clever.

It didn't matter if she found or already had the treasure in her possession, what mattered was what she had done with it.

She must have hired someone to search for those who could control exotic animals, and they must have found the girl. It must have taken her years to gather the men and women that served her.

Harrenhal despite its ruined state gave its owner a sense of authority, it didn't matter if the person that owned it didn't have any, the castle's massive size gave it to them.

Now the woman had something that could not only fight a dragon but beat it in a fight.

He gently held both his wife and daughter and felt their arms tighten around him. The Riverlands would soon be at war.

The loud sound of the castle doors being flung open followed by the loud voices of men and the roars of beasts forced him to push both women aside before silently ordering them to hide.

He drew his sword and watched as one of his men opened the door before telling him that his brother and his men were about to start a war.

He turned and gave both Shireen and Selyse a final look before ordering two of his men to stay to guard them.

He found the castle in even more chaos than he left it when he asked to be taken to his room.

His brother the king, pointed his hammer at Lady Whent who desperately begged him to listen to her explanation. The woman's frightened expression and desperate pleas almost made Stannis ignore the men that surrounded her.

Between his brother and the woman was a room full of heavily armored knights each holding a sword or an ax, and to the side were two packs of large dogs and cats waiting for their master's order.

Stannis cursed himself for not leaving, he had left Kings Landing because of the insult his brother had given him, and while he was tempted to escape during the chaos he knew that he couldn't.

His brother would investigate Lady Whent and would discover that Shireen and Selyse had spent some time with her.

It would not matter how long it was, what mattered was that they had been there, and he had failed to tell his brother about it.

He exhaled and lowered his sword, but he was not foolish enough to sheath it. Before doing what needed to be done, he looked around the room hoping to find the girl.

He found her holding a small dagger while hiding behind a man who held a great white shield that had a red cross in the center.

He steeled himself and walked forward, he knew that a wrong move or a poorly spoken word would result in a blood bath, but he walked forward anyway.

He stopped when he saw that his brother noticed him and held himself back when he both saw and felt his brother glare.

"Stannis I see that you finally."

"Before you finish your words look behind the man wearing red armor, if you can't see him just look for the one that's holding the white shield." he interrupted his brother's threat and insult.

What he had just done was punished by death, but seeing Robert's expression change told him that he wouldn't have to worry about that.

The girl was already serving her purpose and he would make sure that she would only serve him and him alone.

"Alright, you old bat what's she doing here?! Robert said to Lady Whent while tightening his grip on his warhammer.

Stannis could hear the leather glove moving on the warhammers handle.

A heavy silence so thick that it could be compared to the walls of the castle set in as all eyes fell on Lady Whent, but the woman only stuttered as she begged for forgiveness.

Stannis could hear Robert breathing louder with each passing second, he shared his brother's growing frustration. He had given the woman a chance to end things before they got worse and she was squandering it.

"Grab the girl and kill everyone else!" Robert yells\ orders, but before anyone can move something on the girl's head lets out a breath of blue fire creating a wall of fire between her and Robert's men.

Again the spell sets in as no one is sure about what to do.

Slowly everyone's eyes move to the blue creature that's on the girl's head and Stannis realizes that it looks just like the one that the girl had been riding on.

"Lower your swords and tell the rest of the men to stand down." Robert says to his men before turning to him.

He feels his brother's eyes as the man walks up to him and stands over him, but he doesn't say or do anything, he just glares at Stannis.

Robert turns to Lady Whent and shouts "Woman tell your servants to bring my men and me some wine and food!"

"Maybe after I'm drunk and eaten my fill we can talk and you can explain yourself."
