Chapter 20: Opiate
All across the world, people shrieked in horror. As when they looked up into the sky they saw a massive floating head looking down at them. Laughing and mocking them all, threatening them with complete and utter destruction. And he seemed to be making good on that promise as it started duplicating itself into small circular moon sized pounds of flesh. Then sending them flying down to Earth.
It didn't take a genius to look at these to make out that this was a form of an attack. Though with how big they were, it was pretty apparent how much devastation they would cause if they were to make contact with the surface. Much has been said about how devastating it would be if the moon ever collided with the planet. Now there were nearly six of them all heading straight down to Tokyo-3. Hell bent on making everyone in that city and then later with the rest of Earth.
"DISAPPEAR!" Diligentia shouted.
Though due to the small moons being far away, it would take some time before they fell to Earth. Giving the governments of the world enough time to shout at their subordinates to do something. Though ultimately in the end not accomplish anything. As no one could agree on whether or not to fire the nukes. Or give the codes to the ones who needed to fire them.
Eventually, it became clear that all anyone could do now was watch and wait for the inevitable. Everyone from the President of the United States to Prime Minister Norio, along with his secretary Ichiko. Watched as the massive skin bombs fell from the sky. Wondering what the afterlife might be like and how strange and horrifying everything has become. It was truly a hopeless situation.
Even to the Reflection's own shadows.
"Welp, that's a skin bomb." Kilroy said.
"I guess it was fun while it lasted." Karen started to cry.
"Let's get out of here boss. Maybe we can still hold onto your past self." Wes told Dominus.
Yet the Reflection remained calm, looking up to the sky. As the rest of its bandmates asked what they were going to do. As the troops started screaming about the giant blobs falling towards earth. As Diligentia laughed and mocked them all, shouting:
"YOU ALL ARE IMPERFECT! FOOLISH! DEAD SOULS! TIME TO DISAPPEAR! DISAPPEAR! DISAPPEAR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Through all this chaos, Dominus stood there. Silent, and planning for the inevitable. Until eventually, it spoke. Calm and collected as can be in this kind of situation.
"Get out of here." It told them.
The shadows looked confused at their master for a minute. Wondering what the Hell it meant.
"Are you talking about just us? What about you? Boss, you don't have nearly enough power to counteract those things. We did most of the heavy lifting in that fight.
What we need to do is get out of here. Let's retreat, maybe you can regain your strength back in your home dimension."
Fred summed up the situation perfectly from their point of view. Which was funny because this was the same guy dressed like a wannabe gangster saying this. Granted all of them were wearing funny clothing, but still. Dominus wasn't convinced.
"You fool." It growled. "My home dimension is this dimension, if we go back and spend too much time there. Everything will disappear. So, I have to save this place."
"No, you don't! So what if you lose your safe zone. As long as your old self is still alive, we're fine!" Fred argued back.
The Reflection sighed in disappointment.
"I don't have time to explain how even if we take my old self with me. That I would gradually weaken me, not only destabilizing everything we've worked for, but also. It doesn't take a genius to notice that weakening the one whose power is currently allowing you all to exist. Would cause a disaster on a multidimensional scale! So, I mean this with every fiber of what's left of my soul.
Get out of here! I will handle this situation!"
The shadows technically answered to Dominus's every whim. They were forced too, not only through its sheer raw power, but also because they were all alive and standing here today thanks to it. So, they answered to whatever it said. However, not this time, for they were all worried for their master.
"Let us stand beside you! If this is to be your last moment, let it be our last moment as well." Karen begged the Reflection.
"Hell yeah, why do you get all the glory? Let us get some of the attention before we all inevitably die." Kilroy demanded.
"Hmph, why even bother listening to this douchebag? Let's just fight Dilgentia like we did before." Wes suggested.
"Fuck yeah, let's just do it!" Fred agreed.
Soon, however, they all started arguing with each other about what to do about it. All while the moon sized lumps of flesh fell over closer to the Earth. This pressure mixed with arguing about things reminded Dominus of old times. A time best left forgotten by not only by itself, but by everyone that should never have to experience. So, it put a stop to all of their pointless talking over each other.
"BEGONE!" It commanded at the top of its voice.
The noise was so loud and powerful that it not only sent the shadows away. It could be heard all across the globe. The voice didn't echo either, it was as if it was simply said with no purpose of lingering. Which was the intention of the Reflection, to cause a state of silence for it to focus.
For it was about to bring out a monster to rival the pure evil of Diligentia. The monster, that was its true form. A form that would bring madness upon any of those that looked at it. One that Diligentia was all too familiar with. A form with more teeth than face.
Which began to grow and distort the face of the once child looking Reflection. It is here where it laughed and roared. Similar to the sounds that a bass guitar could make. Though it is after this laughter that Dominus noticed someone crying. The sound of pain coming from a little girl nearby.
All to close for comfort for the still concerned Reflection. Through coughs and grunts, it retracted its teeth until its face then looked the same. Then, it looked around for the source of the pain. To which it sees poor Sakura, crying as her ears appeared to be bleeding. The Reflection was immediately by her side, comforting her through hugging, and using its healing influence to make her pain slowly disappear.
Sakura actively felt her ears rehealling. As if time was moving backwards to the time right before the Dominus shouted. Once she was fully healed, the Reflection moved back and made sure she was comfortable. To which Sakura laughed at how such a powerful and seemingly uncaring individual. Wanted to make sure that she was okay.
"You really are just like my brother. Always caring for me even though you act though."
Despite Sakura's warm smile, Dominus looked away in shame.
"I'm not your brother, and if your brother knew the real me. He'd have nightmares for the rest of his life."
The Reflection's voice had changed. It was a low growl, like if a bass guitar was able to speak. Though despite the change in voice tone. Sakura wasn't really scared, well she was a bit startled, but she could tell what a tough guy act looked like from a kilometer away. To which, she simply began hugging Dominus again. Surprising the demon voice sounding entity.
"It's okay, just be yourself. The real you won't hurt the good people. You're a hero, you're my hero."
Her words made the Reflection slightly cry. It hugged her back and if it wasn't for the impending flesh bombs thundering down from the sky. This brief moment of peace might have gone on for a bit longer, but instead. Dominus simply told the little girl:
"I was never a hero. Not even now. I'm the lowest of the low and I simply want this to end. I just want to go to sleep."
That last word was imbued with a secret power. It forced Sakura to close her eyes and pass out. With that, it gently laid her down. It then patted her on the head and walked over to the edge of the roof. Where it could overlook the now warped and destroyed city.
Buildings were tilting over, water was flooding into the streets, and there were now no semblance of roads or infrastructure left. All blown away by the battle. It brought up old memories, ones that never left the Reflection's mind.
"It's a mess. Much like every other timeline I try to save."
Before, Dominus was talking in its monster voice. However, here it reverted back to normal.
"So why not destroy them all? That's the whole reason why I'm here. To help in ending it." The monster voice returned.
"Yes, but only me. Maybe with this, I really will finally meet my end. I was always a bit too curious."
It said in its normal voice one last time, before closing its eyes. Focusing its power onto every single speaker and audio system in the world.
"Attention!" The Reflection said to the entire human race. "I will only say this once, so make sure you understand this."
Its voice was deep, but not as monstrous as before. Even if there were no audio systems nearby. It spoke into the people's minds. So that way no one would miss what it was about to say.
"I am the most powerful being to ever exist in this dimension. However, I am not God, do not worship me. I will not answer you. Though, like your false deities, my true form can not be fully comprehended by mortals. However, I'll need to morph into this form in order to save the world.
I don't think I need to elaborate how dangerous this is. However, if you don't want this planet to be knocked out of orbit. I'm going to have to do this. So, make sure you listen to these next few words. They are imperative to your survival, as well as your continuing somewhat decent mental health.
Do. Not. Look. Up.
I am about to become so big that people on the other side of Earth will be able to see me. Just the scale of this alone would drive anyone mad with how horrifying it would look. And that's before you gaze upon what I truly am. So, for the next ten minutes. Look down at the ground and do not turn around.
Gazing upon my true form will cause your eyes to bleed. As well as your brain to physically melt if you look for too long. Do not look, just listen to the music. It's the only time you will all understand the same language. As well as this being a good lesson in humility and understanding of your place in this world.
Now shut up and do as you're told. Now!"
Everyone followed its directions, not a single person disobeyed. For they were all too afraid of a being with such power. Once it could sense that everyone was looking away. Dominus looked up to the now incredibly close skin bomb. Breathed in, breathed out, put its palms together, and closed its eyes.
"There used to be a bunch of foolish, willinging ignorant fools in this building that we call a multiverse. Though, much like cockroaches, I systematically killed each and every single one of them. Amen."
(Opiate² - Tool)
(0:00 to 0:19)
A bass guitar began to play. The noise was loud enough to be heard for multiple kilometers. Though, if one could still see the Reflection. They would notice that it still had its hands still together. So, who was playing the instrument? The shadows were nowhere near, only it could be playing it.
It was a blessing that everyone was looking away. Not watching the cameras, or sleeping on the hill or nearby. Because they would notice the copy of the Dominus growing out of its back. Growing its limbs out and using its massive teeth like loose strings. To simulate playing the bass notes.
As this deformed and fleshy imitation emerged from the back of the Reflection. Two more arms grew out of its left thigh. And used its overgrown calluses, nails and exposed bones. To simulate the sound of percussion instruments. Then, when everything went silent, with the lingering sound of the bass guitar.
Dominus, opened its eyes, to reveal not the brown soft pupils of its former self. Instead, there were spotted black and white. Similar to the likes of Diligentia and the rest of the Ancestrals. Though, much like its body, deformed and different to a degree that even the highest evolved beings would be disturbed by. It was truly a dark Reflection of everything it used to be.
(0:20 to 0:32)
The Reflection looked up to the sky. Towards the crazy smile of Diligentia's floating head. Which even from many kilometers away, was horrified at what was happening.
Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Two pairs of arms grew out of the side of Dominus's stomach. Then ripped open the flesh of said stomach, to pull out metal strings. The arms then used them to play a guitar riff. Using the bones of the Reflection's rib cage as the tuning pegs to hold the strings. Thus creating a biological one man band.
(0:33 to 0:56)
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Like me.
Dominus writhed and fell to the ground.
Like me.
Though the instruments didn't stop playing.
Like me.
Even when it looked like this process was causing great amounts of pain to the Reflection.
Like me.
And even when Dominus began to grow bigger. In a matter of seconds, it was already the size of the rooftop. It quickly jumped off the building to the ground below. As to not crush and kill the poor sleeping girl. Who thankfully didn't have to see this.
(0:57 to 1:20)
If you want to get your soul to Heaven.
Trust in me now, don't you judge or question.
You are broken now, but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
The Reflection was growing so incomprehensibly big. Sort of like a certain friend of Dominus who became one with the creator of humanity. The difference was that she didn't have things growing out of her, playing with her body parts like instruments. Nor did she have to watch her footing so that way she didn't step on anything. Eventually, the Reflection realized it was better to grow its feet into roots than to dig into the ground.
It wouldn't be able to move, though with how big it was getting. It didn't seem to matter if all it needed to do was be big enough to stop the skin bombs. And get close to Diligentia to crush him. That, and there was one last little difference between Dominus and the giant Rei. She was naked and pale white, the Reflection was naked and still flesh colored, a big difference.
Along with a good reason to look away.
(1:21 to 1:46)
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand up, hand upon you.
Dominus swayed to the song and reached its hands up into the air as it tried to grab Diligentia. Giving the Ancestral the wrong idea that it was trying to avoid the skin bombs. So Diligentia redirected all of the currently falling bombs directly into the path of the Reflection. To which it tanked them full on. Not even trying to dodge them like Diligentia thought.
Giant limbs went flying, but the song didn't stop. If anything, the explosions synced up with song.
(1:47 to 2;21)
My God's will.
Becomes me.
When hе speaks.
He speaks through mе.
He has needs.
Like I do.
We both want,
To rape you.
As one massive explosion after another hit Dominus. Diligentia felt a presence that it truly detested. Something that he never wanted to see again. Yet, here it was, using the attacks to shed itself of the original mutated body. To finally present itself in all of its horror, and now even much bigger than before.
Behind the massive amount of smoke, slithered the massive shape of the more teeth than face form. Though, the first thing to emerge from the smoke was not the face, but instead. The body of the Reflection, back in its teenage form. With its body almost exactly like it had been before it had become mutated. Only, there was one difference, it was now attached to the head of this massive new form.
The teenage body was only being used for singing. While the other teeth, intestines, and arms were playing the instruments. Like the original form from before. The boy 's eyes were still polka dotted white and black. While the massive form had bloodshot human eyes.
Both fixated on Diligentia, which caused the Ancestral to summon more skin bombs in a panic.
(2:22 to 2:46)
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now!
The new form slithered its way through the air, getting bigger and bigger. It was right upon Diligentia, but the coward just sent more skin bombs at it. Then turned its literal head and began to fly off into space. Dominus managed to take the attacks, but the bombs did slow it down. At this pace, Diligentia could open up a gateway to its own dimension and be safe.
So, it was time for a change of strategy. As more and more skin bombs hit the Reflection's new snake-like form. It grew out four new arms, and out of the ten bombs that hit. Dominus managed to hit catch four by levitating them in its hands. Allowing them to cool down.
Then, out of the Reflection's fleshy body came four new eyes. Which gazed down at the moon sized lumps of white skin. The same skin that was made of the same material as Lilith. Material that could support life. They just needed the right influences, a little bit of sunlight, and plenty of time.
It was here that the new boney hands started to glow green. The new eyes began to burn with the heat of the sun. And within the next couple of seconds, time began to slow. Though, not really, it was all an illusion. Just to make Diligentia think that he was traveling faster than he really was.
Long enough for Dominus to unleash its ultimate attack.
(2:47 to 3:13)
At first, the moons were but barren lands. Nothing but pale skin for kilometers if you were standing on them. However, very soon, due to the cooling of the bomb's explosive properties. The flesh turned to stone, a rock-like substance that soon could grow grass. The grass soon led to plant life, which led to an atmosphere, which led to bacteria.
Life, spurred on by the hypnotic guitar.
Where the guitar was coming from was unknown. Perhaps it was like a monolith, casting its shadow down upon the world. Much like the light from the eyes that helped to warm these worlds to life. The guitar guided them to slowly form appendages. Start to fight each other for dominance.
Each world had a different looking victor. For some, they looked like humans with horns. Others were green skinned with pointy ears. One wasn't even close to human, so reptilian in nature. With multiple limbs that slithered like snakes. Not unlike tentacles to help them grab stuff better.
Though, however different these alien races might be. They all began to form tribes. Form mythologies and primitive philosophy, to bring them all together as one. And once they began to come together, they truly started to form their own societies and cultures. Especially with their own music.
Which all sounded the same, especially with the drums.
(3:14 to 3:47)
Their drum beats were exactly as planned. They could all look different, but in the end they were all created for the same purpose. What it was going to be was for them to find out. Though for now, they simply pounded on their drums. With their cries and variations of the tunes being silenced by the guitar riff looming over them.
Sound only travels as far as the environment that allows it. And these worlds were meant to contain those sounds. Until they were brought to their grand purpose. Which for now, coincided with their pursuit for togetherness. For the need to find purpose and understanding.
Until it wasn't anymore.
(3:48 to 4:25)
The tune of the guitar quickly changed. One that stood out from the typical rhythm of the song. And it represented the differences caused by individuality. It started to take the creatures down different paths. Most were harmless, simply leading to slightly different lives.
While others were much more violent. Causing wars, famine, and other great destructive practices that greatly reduced their populations. Though, through all of this the beat still played. Whether it was played by the drummers that originally banned all of their kind together. Or by the rhythm mandated by the song.
Life continued on just long enough for each race to break through to the agricultural revolution. Followed by the industrial and communication revolution as well. However, much like our own worlds. Tensions continued to grow with all these new means to live. Like humanity, they could achieve all the technological advancements they wanted.
Yet, their own mortal nature would be their downfall. For it was planned this way. So, that once they reached the technological and then space revolutions. Their entire civilizations began to crumble. Under the weight of massive separation of what truly made something worth living for.
(4:26 to 5:54)
The keyboard that had been lingering in the background of the song. Began to make itself more obvious now. As it helped to represent the creature's exploration into the stars. However, there wasn't much to explore. Simply to the other planets that had been nearby.
At first, all four new species were peaceful. Trying to explore their neighbors' new cultures and expand their influences. Though, not everyone was interested in open relationships. Due to the influence of the music, some in positions of power opted to pursue isolation compared to communication.
This was shared throughout all four races, and in nearly a couple years time for them. The blink of our eyes for us. They were all back to where they originally started at the beginning of their space age. All pursuing their own means of expansion, weather through pleasure or warfare.
Each of them being indicated from the instruments. For even now the drums that had once indicated each race coming together as a community. Now began to spin off into its own solo. Representing those who wanted to return to their roots and away from technology. Though they still used tech out of convenience.
And in order to ward others from interfering, they built many massive artillery and guns to kill any who came near.
The keyboards kept representing those still exploring the cosmos. Though finding nothing except for what they already knew existed. Resulting in them living on their spaceships. Creating societies and biomes similar to the planets. Though with a clear favoritism for those of higher intelligence and bloodlines.
And in order to protect themselves from what they saw as inferior. They built massive warships, some could be mistaken for floating gun platforms.
The low, yet still noticeable bass. Represented those who decided to go deeper with their roots. Choosing to live underground in subterranean cities. They feared that war would be upon them, so they did their best to stay as far away from the surface dwellers and space fliers as possible.
And to prevent anyone from getting too close. They created massive machines similar to the EVAs in size. Though mainly used for mining and resource hunting. They could be used for combat, especially destroying large artillery units or large space ships.
Finally, there were the creatures represented by the guitars. Who fully embraced their new status as the only ones who chose to fully stay with their new technology. Creating even more advanced machines. The likes of which could only be assumed were magic to the untrained eye. Metal and wires now liquidized into a properly fitting machine that could do anything for you.
These robots were used as everything from servants to personal bodyguards. Soon, this race thought they were the greatest to exist. For in their eyes they had created the greatest invention. And they wanted to use it on those who could challenge them.
So, when the time eventually came, they were the ones to draw first blood.
(5:54 to 6:21)
As the guitar raged into a solo, so did the multiple races into a war. Despite having the most advanced ships and all four sides having advanced technologies. The cost of life was too much for them. Once great planets with bustling cities and populations. Now nothing more than shells of their former selves.
With plenty of creatures desperately trying to keep some semblance of society. While greedy warlords still kept the war going, despite neither side having a clear victor. And this all managed to happen within the blink of the eye for normal human time. The four races were lost, without a true purpose. All they had were their weapons, but barely any food.
Then, the stars started to blink.
(6:22 to 6:45)
Suddenly, the light from the stars that the planets rotated around. Began to dim and make themselves clear to their true intentions. The many different races, all of them stretched out and on the verge of extinction. Looked to the heavens, to find out they were being watched this entire time. With the very source of light they had all relied on for years being eyes.
Many were horrified and lost their minds. Others sought to ask questions, screaming to the new observer monster to answer them on why they had all been created. Some unlucky few tried to figure out how big the monster was. Those who took their spaceships or mining equipment to the creature's body were never seen again.
However, soon, time began to catch up properly for the alien creatures. As a new, child-like entity began to make itself appear in the creature's minds. And it showed them the enemy, the reason why they had been created. A giant floating head that had created their worlds just for them to explode in the end. And just like that, the Reflection didn't need to use hypnotism or its powers of illusion to convince these alien creatures to do its bidding.
When your God tells you something to do, you do it.
(6:46 to 7:11)
If you want to get your soul to Heaven.
Trust in me, now don't you judge or question.
You are broken now, but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
Every single alien race, regardless of their past differences. Found new meaning in the words of their new messiah. They quickly scrapped whatever technology they had remaining. Anyone who was too weak to work was eaten to help with the food shortage. Then, once the ships and war machines were ready.
The crusade had fully begun.
(7:12 to 7:35)
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now.
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now?
Open my eyes, blind me with your light now.
Time slowly began to go back to normal, as all of the different races. Guided by the Reflection, attacked Diligentia while he was retreating. The floating head was caught off guard by the alien creatures and all of their different bits of technology. The artillery pounded against the upper part of his flesh, though never really being able to pierce it. Simply knock the head around a bit.
Same with the space ships, which had mounted the artillery on top of them. So that way they could launch the mining robots. Which in turn would activate the ever changing metal to destroy the ancestral from the inside. Though ingenious, the attack was doomed to fail. As Diligentia adapted and simply grew out its body.
As long as there was at least one molecule left of Diligentia, he could still exist. So the spaceships and artillery pieces were eventually knocked away. And the mining drills, along with the ever changing metal were crushed. Along with all of their respective alien races. Except, their deaths had not been in vain.
For it had brought Diligentia to dead stop. Giving the Reflection enough time to catch up, and bring the hammer down.
(7:36 to 7:49)
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand up, hand upon you.
The Reflection then chucked the small planets themselves at Diligentia. Reigniting their cores as well to explode in the Ancestral's face. And Diligentia's new fully grown body only made him a bigger target. Not only that, but slowing him down. As the explosions knocked him about, sending him screaming towards Earth.
As well as in the grasping distance of Dominus.
(7:50 to 9:54)
My God's will.
A giant hand grabbed Diligentia's body. He had been trying to regenerate his body after the explosions. Along with figuring out where he had ended up. So the slow moving hand managed to get him. The grasp was so tight and strong, it practically broke every new bone in his body.
Becomes me.
The Ancestral was brought down towards the planet Earth. All while with the lyrics covering over Diligentia's screams and pleas for mercy.
When he speaks.
He was brought to eye level with the Reflection's teenage form.
He speaks through me.
The teenage form's beautiful voice was haunting. As it sang the chorus from before, basically telling Diligentia that he was about to die. And there was nothing he could say to stop it, but he sure did try.
He has needs.
"There are other's much stronger than me! You know that!"
Like I do.
"Killing me will cause their hatred for you to rise even more! Your fate and this world is doomed and you know it!"
WE BOTH WANT!
His cries only made Dominus smile. Both in its human and true form. The true form of which was rearranging its body so that its mouth was directly below Diligentia. When the Ancestral noticed this, he tried to rip his head off from before, but it was too late. The Reflection's mouth had become a black hole of pain.
As Diligentia was sucked in. He felt every painful death he had ever done to a mortal all at once. And it repeated every second, and only got worse as he fell further and further down.
TO RAPE YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
As Diligentia was erased from existence. His power now used to fuel the overwhelming form of Dominus. The music became more chaotic. With the guitar leading the charge. Not only was the music all over the place. It seemed reality was too.
Time and space changed colors, shadows didn't match up with what they were supposed to be following. And the world felt as if it was moving backwards. All while this was going on. Dominus danced, at first only swaying with the music. Its arms were so massive it nearly caused hurricanes.
Though as it shrank down. It began reverting back to its human form. Giving it the chance to rip its feet and legs out of the ground. That's when it really started moving around. Leaving massive footprints in the Earth. Though making sure not to step on anything.
When it stepped in the ocean, it caused minor tsunami's. If the God-like child wasn't so agile and careful. It could wipe out all life on planet earth with one stroke. However, soon, it began slowing down. Much like the music.
The Reflection made its way back to Tokyo-3. Where it stepped onto the same roof top. Snapped its fingers to cover itself in new clothes. And with the final note and overlooking the desolate landscape. Dominus took a bow.
(End)
Then, the Reflection noticed something. Its eyes were bleeding and it felt drained. Despite consuming another Ancestral, it felt as if it was on its last legs. That's when it noticed a foolish boy standing in the distance. A boy that was told to look away, but somehow refused. All was made clear as Dominus quickly teleported to Shinji.
The two looked at each other in silence for a minute. Neither of them were even emoting. Both bleeding heavily from their eyes. Eventually, Shinji fell to the ground. The Reflection felt like doing the same, but refused to. Because what it always wanted was finally coming true.
"I guess that scenario you saw isn't happening. A shame, it would've been interesting. Though, not a complete loss. No one will remember who we were. All according to plan."
The Reflection laughed and slowly disappeared. Leaving Shinji to die on a hillside. Overlooking the city that he would now never call his home.
Hey everybody, I got a bit of a bad update. My computer just crashed, and it doesn't seem to be in good enough condition to be fixed. God Damn it Best Buy, whatever at least it lasted a good year. The only problem is that now I'm going to be typing stuff from my old google Chrome.
UPDATE: I got a new computer with the same model. Along with a warranty, so incase I get fucked again. At least I'll be able to save money. R.I.P. Old Computer.
So, if things slow down even more than they usually do. I'm sorry, but I'm trying and most likely failing to fix it. I hope you all enjoyed the chapter in the meantime. I think I'm going to rotate between this and the Gray One. My Star Wars what if story. I have a new technique of doing at least one page a day.
That way I'm getting something done, while also reserving myself so I don't immediately get writer's block from an entire night of writing. Anyway, I'll see you all later. And as always, thank you for reading.
P.S. A little spoiler here, expect more quieter moments going forward with this story. I wanted to show off the rules and abilities that the Reflection/Dominus brings to the table. Along with a big climatic showcase for those powers during the first arc of the show. Though, I do admit, I kind of jumped the shark on this one.
You're probably all wondering. How the fuck am I going to top this one going forward. Well, not for another couple of story arcs. We're going to be focusing more on the characters. With some cameos and help from the Shinji clones. That way, Shinji and company can finally adapt to the new world spread out before them.
I hope you all enjoy the new direction. Though, now that I think about it. That's not really a new direction. It's Evangelion at the end of the day. And that's what I love about the show and movies. End of the world events, set in the backdrop of a depressing look into people's souls.
P.P.S. Just discovered Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. Do you want Evangelion, steampunk and Castle in the Sky mashed together? Well then this is the show for you. I'm definitely going as Captain Nemo for Halloween after watching this show.
P.P.P.S Also, I just realized I've been writing this story for a year. Happy Anniversary, I guess.
Okay, for real this time. See you later.
