December 12th,

The Hokage's Tower,

'hmm, what should I get for Naruto? From checking his proficiency in Kenjutsu I believe he deserves a real blade. He is a true Uzumaki with the blade.' Hiruzen thought with pride in his visage.

'I should not get him something that is too good since he might not be able to handle it well enough. If he shows that he is skilled enough with the blade, I will get him a katana made with chakra metal, especially for his needs,' Hiruzen thought to himself.

'Oh! so much paperwork already! I was just thinking of what to get everyone for the Rinne festival and already my entire table is filled with paperwork!' Hiruzen thought angrily.

Senju Training ground,

This is the secret training ground used by Hashirama and his siblings for training in the ninja arts under their father. It was behind a huge waterfall created by Butsuma Senju's father. This place was littered with seals to make sure no one found it except a select few.

"You have to now use the water bullet without any seals. This will improve your control over water." Kurama ordered.

This method is more like an unofficial way to train water and other natural releases. This can help one mold a certain nature chakra much quicker and more efficiently.

Naruto was huffing out of tiredness. He has been concentrating on the control aspects of a jutsu so it can come more naturally to him. He might have a lot of chakra, but if he manages to use it very effectively, he will be a force to reckon with.

"Send some chakra to me," Naruto huffed out.

Kurama obliged and lent him some of his chakra. This kind of chakra transfer is done very minimally since Naruto is still a 5-year-old, so he can only have limited access to Kurama's chakra. At the most, Kurama will fill Naruto's chakra pool to continue his exercises, this is how Naruto was able to last so long on top of water while exercising.

"From now you will be training in lightning release. You may have not mastered your primary nature releases, but the lightning release can help you use the Sword of the Thunder God more efficiently. You are young, there is no need for you to master everything in one go, you still have many years in you to do it." Kurama said.

Naruto felt much better after the purified nine-tailed chakra entered his body. Naruto made 2 shadow clones to practice lightning release.

'I need to get a real katana to practice my sword skills. I can't just use the Kiba blades of the get-go, it will be too hard since it is way too big for me. You think I can afford it?' Naruto asked.

"You can, but did you forget the third Hokage will buy a real katana when you are skilled enough with the boken?" Kurama asked.

'Oh yeah! I completely forgot about it! I should ask him when I meet him next time.' Naruto said to himself.

A few ways off, a few Naruto clones were doing various things. One was reading up on a Fuinjutsu book, one was climbing a tree, one was doing the second stage of water manipulation, which was to gather a huge source of water and shape it into unique structures, one was doing the second stage for stone manipulation, which was to turn loose soil into hardened mud. One was practicing the Senju stance, which was a basic stance taught to young Senjus so they could use it for both battle and to make their stance better suit them.

Naruto himself started to run at his top speed with his seals on him. He can run for about 20 minutes at his top speed without break, which is a huge feat for anyone. Most chunin can only run at their top speed for about 4 minutes. Only a few have enough stamina to run at such speeds.

Naruto was easily as fast as some of the best genin in the village.

The Hokage Tower,

"We saw what Kumo did just 2 years back! To date, many of our clients think we chickened out, we have to show that we are still the strongest village!" Danzo said.

"What do you suggest? Start another war?" Hiruzen retorted sarcastically.

"We can't afford another war Danzo, we lack the number of ninjas. There is only so much that our quality ninjas can do. We don't have another yellow flash, we lost 2 of our sanin, one of which is a traitor! We have enemies everywhere, just one conflict can start the next war!" Hiruzen said sternly.

Danzo just scoffed.

"So what do you suggest then? Wait?" Danzo said mockingly when he uttered "Wait", making it seem redundant to do.

"We should increase our numbers by letting in more of the youth to the academy and lower the standards a bit. This can make sure some of the ones who have good chances of being ninjas become ninjas. This won't dampen the truly skilled students because they will get special training from the instructors to enhance their skills." Said Hiruzen, trying to get the best outcome. He knows that the death rate of ninjas will increase a bit, but it's better than an all-out war with other ninja villages.

This special training to students will be given out to students who are in the top 5 percentile of students.

The Senju Training Ground,

'I think it's enough training for today,' Naruto thought.

"Hmhm, it's already evening," Kurama said.

"I have another thing to train you in," Kurama said, piquing Naruto's interest.

'What is it?' Naruto asked.

"I will be training you to use your chakra to produce fear in others. This is called killing intent." Kurama said.

'How should I train in it?' He asked.

"You will first experience it to see how it feels. This can help you know what you have to do. If I constantly flood you with my killing intent, you can build resistance to it. This can stop you from hesitating to do what's necessary or let the enemy use a genjutsu to get through you while your mind is at its weakest. I can only do so much with the seal still locking most of my powers, you will have to work on your genjutsu resistivity yourself." Kurama said.

Naruto entered his mind, preparing himself mentally to handle the pressure Kurama was about to impose on him.

"Are you ready brat?" Kurama asked.

"Hmhm!" Naruto responded resolutely.

Kurama released some of his chakra on Naruto.

Naruto's eyes grew wide, his pupils shrunk, his skin paled, and he fell onto one of his knees.

"What you are experiencing is just a fraction of my chakra. Only your parents, Hashirama, Madara, and Mito were able to handle my full pressure." Kurama said, stopping his killing intent.

Naruto sighed in relief. He thought he was going to puke inside of his mind.

"Go back and train on it with your shadow clone, you should by the end of this month be able to make any chunin tremble in fear," Kurama ordered.

Naruto went back to the real world and tried it out.

Training went on usually. Naruto grew a lot but still has many ways to go. He recently turned 7, so he was about to get admitted to the academy.

"The academy's standards have dropped a lot," Kurama voiced his opinion.

"Of course, we are not at war, unlike during the times my parents were at," Naruto replied.

Kurama scoffed.

The entrance test depended on one's physical and mental abilities.

Flash Back:

"So are you prepared for the academy?" Hiruzen asked gently.

"Yup!" Naruto chirped back.

"So what's your plan for the academy?" Hiruzen asked curiously since Naruto was very excited about the academy.

"Well, I will try being the dead last since I don't want others to know what I am fully capable of," Naruto responded.

"Oh! Why is that? Didn't you want others to recognize you?" Hiruzen asked, a bit baffled.

"Hmhm, I don't want to paint a target on myself yet. I will show my skills once I am a ninja. Being deceptive is the first lesson for a ninja after all," Naruto answered. This answer surprised Hiruzen a lot, Naruto was very mature for his age, but he didn't think it would be till this extent.

"Very well then, but make sure you don't fail any subjects. Just the bare minimum will do," Hiruzen replied with a bit of joy.

"Fine gramps! It's time for ramen!" Naruto exclaimed with excitement at the fact that Hiruzen agreed with Naruto's choice.

Flash Back end.

"Brat, I feel as if something is wrong now in the village, To be precise, the Uchiha clan has been very suspicious and the village is ostracizing them as well. This might be concerning the fact that I was controlled by a Uchiha being spread around the village like a wild fire," Kurama said with concern. Such a powerful clan acting this suspiciously is very concerning after all.

'What do you want me to do about it?' Naruto asked.

"I feel you are proficient enough with what I have been teaching you. You might not know this, but I can gather Nature Chakra for you, making it more combat-ready. You can use the Sage mode used by Hashirama to completely mask your chakra presence. Combined with the Chameleon jutsu, you will be able to spy on any target without notice, making you the best infiltrator. The only ones who can find you are the ones with visual powers with the ability to see all your chakra pathways which only the highest form of sharingan when activated can do. Most likely no one will be going around flashing that stage of the sharingan in the village, so you will be safe to spy on them." Kurama said in one breath.

'Damn! But who should I spy on? Satsuki? She is just my age, so she probably isn't involved in whatever is going on.' Naruto replied.

"Hmm, from what you have seen and heard, the prodigy of the Uchiha clan has recently got into the Anbu black ops. Maybe tailing him in the clan can help you find something out?" Kurama said.

'Fine, I will try following him around,' Naruto responded with a bit of reluctance. He didn't want to spy on his soon-to-be classmate before the academy even started.

Naruto got to it, he went near the Uchiha clan to scout around for the people he was looking for. He had a few targets, them being the Uchiha elders, Shisui, Itachi, and Fugaku himself.

"Hmm, that chakra. That one possesses the Mangekyo sharingan!" Kurama exclaimed with surprise and anger.

'That's the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku Uchiha. Looks like he has a lot of chakra as well.' Naruto stated.

"Hmhm, you should only follow him where others are, this will ensure that he won't just go around flashing the mangekyo. But I don't think this will be the correct time to go around him, I say that you should wait until the 2 Uchihas are around, they might act as double agents, or at the least might be spying on the village. But I don't think that old monkey would have noticed that the Uchiha clan members seem off. This might enforce my theory on at least one of the 2 anbu being a double agent." Kurama said with squinted eyes.

'Sure, but when do you think those 2 will show up?' Naruto asked.

"They are from the anbu, but considering what's going on now, they won't be going on missions that last more than a week. So I say they would be out of the village for a week at max," Kurama answered.

Naruto sighed.

"Ah! Big brother!" Satsuki said pouting after Itachi poked her on her forehead.

"Looks like you got lucky brat, Itachi himself is here," Kurama said.

Naruto put on a mask he made himself with some basic seals that don't let his enemies or targets see his face.

Naruto activated his Chameleon jutsu and hid. This jutsu was made by Tobirama especially to counter the Uchiha, it was elevated and often used by Jiraiya who was given the Jutsu by Hiruzen.

Kurama was already supplying Naruto with Nature chakra to not be picked up by chakra sensors.

Naruto spent the whole day spying on Itachi. Itachi was just doing normal teenage things and some training. He was going around buying groceries for his mom, spending time with one Izumi Uchiha, training in the Uchiha training fields, and so forth. Suddenly a crow came to Itachi with a small message attached to it. After Itachi read through it, his eyes grew concerned and went towards the Nakano River.

Naruto followed Itachi over there, doing his best to keep up with Itachi. Itachi finally reached a small cliff. Shisui was there, with one of his eyes missing and blood all over him. Naruto's eyes grew wide but managed to keep his mouth shut.

"Danzo attacked me. He said that my plan to stop the Uchiha coup would not succeed and only his method would be followed. The Hokage doesn't have much leverage over the elders now," Shisui said with a small smile.

"Your right eye!" Itachi said with concern.

"I know, Danzo took it. You must be the one to kill me, Itachi, you must awaken your mangekyo. This way you can protect our clan and the village," Shisui huffed out.

Itachi's eyes widened with concern.

"Look, I don't have much time left, one of Danzo's cronies was an Aburame, he has poisoned me. It's already too late for me. Take my left eye, it's much superior compared to the one Danzo managed to take from me. You are the only hope for the village, Itachi," Shisui said, placing his only eye on a summoned crow. He took Itachi's hands and made them push him down the cliff.

"SHISUI!" Itachi cried out.

Itachi's eyes slowly morphed into the mangekyo sharingan.

"That brat has the mangekyo now," Kurama said.

'Yes. Now we know what's going on between the Uchiha and the Village... This is very concerning, looks like Gramps knows what's going on as well.' Naruto said.

"You should be very cautious of the Uchihas, they might try to get you to get me. If the Uchiha head says he has the Mangekyo, the clan might push him to use me as a weapon." Kurama said with a frown. Naruto frowned as well.

Itachi turned his mangekyo off before he could spot Naruto. Naruto seeing Itachi had deactivated those eyes, he made the run for it, getting out of there as soon as possible since he had seen too much.

Naruto was very stressed and drained mentally since he had to keep up the chameleon jutsu for nearly half a day straight. The jutsu consumes both concentration and chakra in huge amounts.

'Looks like the Uchiha will be most likely massacred. I hope Itachi at least spares the innocent,' Naruto thought.

Kurama scoffed. He didn't like Uchihas in general.

"Tomorrow you will be training on how to use the sage mode while moving. This was the reason Hashirama was known to be very powerful. A sage who can gather sage chakra while moving, and without any summons. Without me you will still be struggling with the first step," Kurama said, trying to change the topic.

'Fine,' Naruto responded.

April 20th,

"Oh, it's time for me to go to the academy! I only have 10 minutes left to go there!" Naruto shouted in panic, leaving the Senju Training ground with a full sprint.

He went around the village a bit to reach there at his full speed so as to not raise any suspicion.

'I am right on time!' Naruto thought with relief.

"Good Morning everyone! Today deems the start of the year for the academy for new young aspiring students to start their ninja training," Hiruzen said with his grandfatherly voice. Everyone was listening to him with smiles. The new students were very excited.

Naruto listened to him in a secluded area to not gather too much attention from the parents.

'Do I have to do that?' Naruto asked Kurama.

"Yes! If you don't, kiss your training goodbye!" Kurama said.

'Fine...' Naruto relented.

Soon after Hiruzen concluded his speech, the academy instructors called out the students who were in charge of.

"Naruto Uzumaki!" One Iruka Umino announced.

"Hmm, looks like you got into the class of the clan heirs! That's some good catch we got!" Kurama voiced out.

'Yes, I can see why I was put in that class, after all, I am a clan heir as well, although both the clans I am from are extinct,' Naruto responded with a bit of sadness at the end.

Naruto followed Iruka to his assigned class.

He observed his classmates, most were not that special, but all of them knew who each other was. The only exceptions are himself and Satsuki. Choji Akimichi and Shikamaru Nara were very close, and so were Ino Yamanaka and Sakura Haruno. Hinata Hyuga, the clan heiress of the Hyuuga clan was alone, following Iruka, looking down very shyly. Satsuki was giving polite, but short replies to anyone who was talking to her, Kiba Inazuka was boasting about his skills, and it seemed most knew of him and his abilities. The rest weren't much to pay attention to since they didn't seem to have much skill nor were they the children of Konoha's higher-ups.

'So I have that boy in my class. No matter, I should act professionally towards him, after all, I am his instructor. First and foremost he is my student,' Iruka thought, thinking about Naruto.

Classes started, and all of them introduced themselves and told me what their ambitions were. Naruto loudly exclaimed he wanted to be Hokage which brought the whole class to laughter.

5 PM,

'Finally! They are letting us go!' Naruto thought with relief. Nothing much went on there. Iruka let the class do whatever they wanted after he showed some ninjutsu and taijutsu moves. He didn't talk much, he sat next to Choji and Shikamaru, who both were doing their own things like eating and sleeping respectively.

Iruka let them do what they wanted to do because he wanted to assess what kind of people his students were. He knew that most of the clan heirs were in his class, so he was a bit nervous in teaching them. He wanted to make them the damn best ninjas out there after all.

Naruto was simply bored out of his mind, he didn't find much amusement from what Iruka showed in the beginning, he was assessing and listening to what the rest of the class was talking about. Some spoke about him, saying things like "My mom told me not to be friends with him,", to "Look at that loser, my dad tells me not to talk to him unless it's necessary because he might spread his stupidity to others,".

Naruto just scowled at those comments but hid it well.

Some of the boys tried talking to Satsuki to get to know her since she was from the prestigious Uchiha clan. But being the cold Uchiha, she either replied politely or just ignored them.

Iruka occasionally took notes of them but made sure to be very discrete. Only Naruto and Shikamaru took note of this.

Iruka and later, his assistant, Mizuki had taught them about what they were expected to learn in the academy and what they be doing every day. This part took a while since many had a lot of doubts on the subject since half of the 42-strong class were from purely civilian backgrounds.

Naruto knew some of the kids would leave the academy either because their parents wouldn't allow them to continue or because they were scared of becoming ninjas.

Naruto just glanced at the parents who were picking up their children. He could hear what they were saying.

"Why would they allow someone like him near our kids?" Some random lady said. Mikoto just frowned at what was going on.

Naruto just sprinted away, after he sensed no one was near him, he dashed to his training ground at full speed.

'I know you would be very disappointed in me for not taking care of your son, Kushina.' Thought Mikoto, looking at the sprinting Naruto.

Satsuki just looked at Mikoto curiously, thinking why her mom was looking at Naruto sadly whilst the others looked at Naruto with distrust and dislike.

Senju training grounds,

"Now, it's time that you finally start learning mokuton. You have trained your affinities to a suitable level for it," Kurama said.

'Very well then!' Naruto thought, opening one of the scrolls which had a basic method to train mokuton manipulation. You will have to grow a tree through the use of chakra. The catch is that the seed must be very old, or must have barely any life in it. This makes it hard to grow it on its own, probably even impossible, but by using Mokuton chakra, it's possible to revive that seed and make it grow. But if a lot of chakra enters the seed it might explode, get burnt, get inflated with water, or just dry out even more

He produced 6 clones to do the exercise.

"We will have to keep an eye on Itachi Uchiha as much as possible, we need to know what will happen to keep knowledge on him. There is a mokuton jutsu called the Transmission wood which can let you track one wherever they go. You should learn it right after completing this training," Kurama said.

'Fine Kurama,' Naruto said. He quickly got into his training.

Naruto can at best use sage for 20 seconds. He can only use it when Kurama is helping him since it's not applicable for battle purposes, so Naruto's training on sage mode will be halted for a few years to let his chakra reserves grow enough to handle it for longer periods.

"Grrrr! Why is this so hard!" Naruto shouted in anger.

He has been doing this exercise from the time he got back from the academy, now the time was about 9 PM. He managed to create a small sprout in that time with the help of his clones.

"Looks like we found something which is difficult for you to do!" Kurama chuckled.

"Don't worry brat, Hashirama was as good as he was in mokuton because of his sage mode. If you practice this exercise to a sufficient level, you can multiply its power by tenfold without losing control while using sage mode." Kurama said.

"Alright!" Naruto relented with a grumpy tone.

"Don't get grumpy on me brat! Else I will increase your training tenfold!" Kurama threatened.

"When did I get grumpy?!" Naruto replied nervously.

Kurama just scoffed at Naruto's childish behavior.

July 4th,

'Sucks to be seniors, they have school this Saturday!' Naruto thought with a smile. Naruto was relieved that he didn't have classes on Saturday.

'I am finally done with that damned Mokuton exercise!' Naruto thought with relief that he managed to complete this training. It took him over a whole month with 6 clones constantly training day in and day out on the exercise, he managed to grow a full tree with only using chakra. It took way too much concentration from him to do that. He has to train in it more to do it without even trying, this as told before can let him use Mokuton jutsu faster, and use less chakra.

"Hmhm, now it's time that you start learning that jutsu, we have to keep tabs on the Uchihas after all," Kurama said.

"hmm, the seals are boar and snake, I have to mold chakra like this into a seed," Naruto muttered.

'Depending on the chakra used, we can input the range and how long the seed lasts,' Naruto thought.

"Hmm, this means perfecting my control over this jutsu can prolong the time the jutsu lasts by huge margins," Naruto said to himself.

"Hmhm, this means more training!" Kurama said with glee.

"aw, man!" Naruto said with a groan.

He trained the whole day on that jutsu. After he had gotten the jutsu down, he had sent a clone which was made to keep an eye on Itachi to plant the tracking seed on him at the right time. It was quite hard for the clone to do it since Itachi was a light sleeper, but managed to do it successfully.

July 5th,

"Wood style! Wooden pillar Jutsu!" Naruto yelled, making a few pillars grow from the floor.

"Ah, this was easy!" Naruto exclaimed.

"This was easy because it's just a C-ranked jutsu," Kurama replied in a deadpan tone.

Naruto just scoffed.

"So what was that Uchiha brat doing?" Kurama asked. He can't get the memories of Naruto's clones so he has to ask Naruto to know what's going on outside.

'Well, he was learning how to use his Mangekyo sharingan's ability, the Tsukiyomi,' Naruto said.

"Hmm, that's the genjutsu which lets the user take the one affected into their mindscape and torture or pass on intel to an enemy or ally," Kurama said.

"1 second in the outside world can be equal to 3 days in that jutsu, it puts a lot of strain on the user. But there is a next stage, which lets the user nullify most of the bad effects and even decrease the amount of chakra used for that specific jutsu. There are many more benefits like a much higher chakra reserve too for that stage, but for one to achieve that stage, he or she has to take the mangekyo sharingan of one of their direct family, like their siblings, grandparents, parents, children... This stage of the sharingan was achieved by only one, and that was Madara Uchiha. This made him one of the most revered Ninja besides Hashirama Senju," Kurama stated.

"Woah, that's dark," Naruto muttered, looking a bit down since this meant that one of the founders went so far as to get a pair of their own direct kin's eyes for power.

"Well since we are on that topic, you should learn high-level genjutsu since it will let you know the intricacies behind genjutsu. This can help you handle against a genjutsu like Tsukiyomi, or even counter it which will make the sharingan completely voided against us. This can help you counter the Uchiha who caused your parent's deaths," Kurama said.

Naruto clenched his hands after hearing about his parents' deaths.

"Hmhm, but what should I start on?" Naruto asked.

"Well, from what I remembered from the Senju library, the bringer of darkness jutsu could be a good jutsu, although it's a high-level jutsu that takes a lot of time to use, it was made by Tobirama, specifically to counter the Uchiha's Sharingan. It can completely blind one where they can't even see their own hands or body. This jutsu is also a tough one to break out of, so your enemies will be sitting ducks for you," Kurama answered.

'Wow, my old man was very keen on countering the Uchihas,' Naruto thought.

"Of course! At the time of his birth, the Senju and Uchiha were eternal enemies. They were the 2 strongest clans in the entire world and had been rivals ever since the time of my birth. The reason why Senjus are not around the village is mainly because they are either dead or have very diluted Senju blood like you," Kurama responded.

'Hmm, this is why we produce a lot of ninjas with huge potential every year, they have the blood of the Senju,' Naruto responded thoughtfully.

"Ding ding ding! You got it right brat! Nearly half of the Jonin are descendants of Senjus," Kurama said.

'Damn! I have a lot of relatives then,' Naruto thought.

"Yes, but even they don't know who is their relatives, some don't even know they are descendants of the Senju since Senjus were targeted during the ninja wars,' Kurama replied.

"Oh," Naruto muttered.

Naruto resumed his training.

I will be giving a time skip after the Uchiha massacre, I will not let him use the sage mode and Hiraishin since it will make him too OP in the beginning. I will let him use it once I feel it's the right time. Naruto is about high Chunin level, around the same level Itachi was at his age.

Itachi's sickness will progress slower than in canon, so he will be more stronger than in Canon. I will be upping the usual academy standards as well so as to make the rest of the passing genin stronger from the start.
