Kalos Team Reunion

"Hey Goodra!"

"Goo?! Goodra!" Goodra excitedly exclaimed, spotting Ash as he turned around. Goodra raced across the wetlands and quickly pulled him and Pikachu in for a hug. "Goodra, goooo!"

"We missed you too, Goodra!" Ash laughed. "We were actually wondering if you were ready to come back with us?"

Goodra looked towards Florges who nodded. "Florges, flor." Florges assured him that nobody would mess with the Pokémon here so long as she and her army were here to defend it.

Goodra turned his attention back to Ash and enthusiastically nodded his head. "Goodra!"

Ash smiled as he held up Goodra's ball. "Welcome back to the team, Goodra!"

"Goodra!" Goodra excitedly cried as he disappeared back into the ball.

"So this is Lumiose City, the city of love!" Chloe gushed out while excitedly taking in the sights.

"We're so going on another date after that battle," Dawn stated while gripping Zach's hand. "We can't let this opportunity go to waste!"

"Sounds good to me!" Zach agreed, smiling at her as his fingers wrapped around hers.

Lucario was keeping an eye out while Scorbunny enthusiastically pointed at a Casteliacone stand. "Scor scor!" Lucario shook his head as he scooped her into his arms.

"Carr."

"Froakie." Marnie commented upon spotting one sitting atop a passing trainer's shoulder. A Greninja would be a great Pokémon for her team but she wasn't certain she'd find one in the wild as they were hard to locate as was normally the case with starter Pokémon.

Ash looked towards Sycamore's lab as they passed but it didn't appear like the Professor was home, possibly off on field research with Alain somewhere.

"Come on, Clemont's waiting for us."

"Clemont, your guests are here." Clembot spoke up.

Clemont looked up from the invention he was currently working on as a smile formed. "It's about time!"

"Clemont!" Ash shouted out upon exiting the elevator.

"Ash!" Clemont dropped his wrench and rushed over to meet Ash. "It's so good to see you again, just wait until you see-"

"Ash!" Ash felt a smaller figure leap up from behind followed by a pair of arms latching around his next.

"Bonnie?!" A large smile formed as Ash noticed his younger companion, she had aged and grown considerably since Ash last saw her and now had a Pokeball of her own upon her belt.

"Hey Ash!" Bonnie released her grip and dropped to the floor. "I missed you!"

"We missed you too!"

"Pika pi!"

"So you've finally started your adventure?"

"I did and you'll never believe who I picked!" Bonnie threw the ball into the air which burst to reveal a shiny Fennekin.

"Fennek!"

"A Fennekin!" Ash exclaimed.

"Pika!"

"It came down to either Froakie or Fennekin but she eventually chose Fennekin. It took hours and Sycamore immediately closed the lab afterwards to go off on some expedition with Alain." Clemont chuckled.

"Who are your new friends?" Bonnie quickly asked upon noticing the others. Her eyes instantly took note of Zach and Dawn's intertwined hands so her attention flickered towards Chloe and Marnie as a thoughtful expression formed. "Hm."

"I'm Zach."

"I'm Dawn."

"Chloe."

"Name's Marnie."

"Oh no!" Clemont went pale as Bonnie eagerly sprinted across the Gym, dropping onto her knees and sliding across the floor as she stretched her hand towards Chloe. "You're quite pretty Chloe, would you be interested in marrying my friend?"

"She didn't propose for Clemont?" Ash questioned while looking confused.

Clemont looked similarly confused before realizing who she was asking for. "Oh no. Bonnie you can't do that either!" The Aipom arm extended from his backpack as she pulled Bonnie away from Chloe.

"But brother, he's still single!"

"And there's nothing wrong with that, he's clearly putting his journey first." Clemont stated. "Besides I still don't think you-know-who's over him yet."

"I'm not interested anyways." Chloe stated.

Marnie was silently thankful that Bonnie hadn't asked her, she wasn't sure how she'd have reacted.

"Who are you talking about?" Ash questioned Clemont.

"Ash?" Ash slowly turned to see Serena standing behind them. Her honey blonde hair had grown a bit but she wasn't wearing it as long as she used to wear it, she'd also ditched her Kalos attire for a gray hat, a sleeveless black sweater and short red and white striped skirt. Her blue eyes lit up as he turned to face her, giving him an excitable wave. "Hey."

"Serena!"

Marnie raised a brow as she looked between the two.

"It's been so long, how are you?! What have you been up to?" Ash excitedly questioned his friend.

"Well I lost the Grand Festival in Hoenn," Serena stated. "But I returned to Kalos and became Kalos Queen during the last season. I went head to head with some girl named Luna and-"

"She won by a landslide!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"So Luna did participate in Showcases after all." Ash commented.

"Then I beat Aria in a close competition."

"Good job, I'm happy for you!" Ash grinned.

"Thanks Ash," Serena blushed lightly but it wasn't as crazy as it was back during the Kalos adventure. Serena shot a look towards Marnie before looking at Ash but remained silent. "I heard you've done a lot, you're the Alola Champion and currently doing the World Championship."

"And I've caught a lot of new Pokémon along the way."

"I hope you brought the Kalos team." Clemont smirked. "I've wanted to see them again and see how much we've both grown over the years."

"Of course I brought them, well apart from Greninja." He wasn't sure how to track Greninja down as he wasn't locked down to one place and didn't live with any humans.

"That's fine, I've got a feeling you'll meet again later." Clemont chuckled. "Besides I'm sure it'll cap us at three or four max."

"And in case it wasn't obvious, this whole thing was my idea. I wanted to see everyone together again before I set off and this was the only way I could think of since you never call anyone apart from your mother and Professor Oak." Bonnie laughed.

"I call Professor Kukui and Burnet." Ash added on but didn't deny there was some truth to that.

"Well either way, now you got to beat my brother if you want to progress with your World Championship adventure." Bonnie giggled out. "Unless Team Rocket interferes."

"They don't attack as often as they used to." Ash shrugged. They seemed to prefer ambushing him when he wasn't battling now adays, maybe they actually did respect him despite trying to steal Pikachu again and again.

"Well that's good, okay big brother start up the match! I wanna see Ash's face when he sees what you've got!"

"But we haven't ate-"

"Start the match!" Bonnie firmly stated while slamming her foot against the ground causing Clemont to gulp.

"Yes ma'am." Clemont hastily tapped his Rotom Phone, summoning a Rotom Drone into the Gym.

"I'd have loved to eat." Ash groaned out.

"Bzzzt. Greetings Challenger Ash Ketchum and Lumiose City Gym Leader Clemont, today's World Championship match will be a three on three Pokémon battle with each side permitted one substitution. As soon as either side forfeits or is otherwise unable to continue, the battle will come to a conclusion. Ash Ketchum and Lumiose City Gym Leader Clemont are you ready to begin the battle?"

"How come that thing never addresses Ash's Champion status?" Marnie questioned. "It addresses other people properly for the most part."

"Don't ask me, I try and ignore those things." Zach shrugged.

"Yes!" Ash enthusiastically shouted out.

"I'm ready too."

"Bzzzt. Then release your Pokémon on my mark, get set and GO!"

"Diggersby!"

"Talonflame, I choose you!"

"Talonflame!"

"Diggersby!" The two Kalos Pokémon exclaimed upon emerging from their Pokeballs.

"No way, Bunnelby evolved!"

"Pi Pikachu!"

"Yep." Clemont chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck. "It happened shortly after you left Kalos."

"Brave Bird!" Talonflame stretched out his wings and uttered out a sharp screech as he shot across the Gym, an orange aura formed around him as he slammed into Diggersby.

"By!" Diggersby grunted out.

"Thunder Punch!" Clemont shouted out.

Electricity crackled around Diggersby's fist as he leaped out, dealing Talonflame an electrical blow.

"T-Talonflame!" Talonflame screeched out as electricity flowed through his veins.

"Flame Charge!" Ash shouted out.

"Talon!" Flames ignited around Talonflame as he shot across the field.

"Dig!"

"Diggersby!" The rabbit burrowed beneath the ground, vanishing from sight.

"Now leap up with Thunder Punch!" Clemont shouted.

"By!" Electricity formed around Diggersby's fist as he sprang up, preparing to strike.

"Steel Wing!" Silver coloring formed around Talonflame's wings as he performed a barrel roll before striking Diggersby in the back.

"By!" Diggersby cried out as Talonflame sent him crashing into the ground. "Diggersby..." The rabbit groaned out as swirls formed within his eyes.

"Diggersby is unable to continue the battle, Gym Leader Clemont please release your next Pokémon."

"Return," Clemont recalled Diggersby to his ball. "Okay Heliolisk, your turn. Let's-"

A loud explosion sounded within the building causing the ground to shake.

"What's going on?!" Bonnie cried out.

"Team Rocket!" Ash instinctively called out but was proven wrong as a large shadow swooped into the building.

"Sala!" Roaring Moon came swooping into the room, his eyes locked upon Bonnie's Fennekin. V was riding on it's back, arm cannon activated as he fired it towards Bonnie.

"That's coming with me, kid."

"Fennekin!" Bonnie cried while shielding Fennekin from the blast, resulting in her getting frozen along with Fennekin.

"Bonnie!" Clemont screamed out. "Okay that's personal, Heliosk use-"

"Sala!" Roaring Moon blasted Clemont off his feet with Hyper Beam while V leaped up to grab Bonnie.

"An unfortunate incident but I still got the target. Let's go," V leaped back onto Roaring Moon's back as the Dragon started taking off.

"What the heck is that thing?!" Chloe shouted out.

"It looks like a Salamence, Lucario blast him with Aura Sphere!"

"Wait, Bonnie might be sent falling!" Dawn shouted.

"Right, Lucario cancel that." Lucario nodded his head as Roaring Moon flew through the explosion hole.

"We've got to get him!" Ash shouted out.

"Bzzzt. I'm afraid if you do that, the battle will be for-"

"Problem solved." Clemont tapped the forfeit button on his phone.

"You're no fun." The Rotom Drone commented.

"Come on Clemont, let's go!" Ash shouted while climbing onto Talonflame's back. "We've got a ship to catch."

"I'm coming with you!" Serena quickly climbed behind them, placing her arms around Clemont who had his around Ash.

"Good luck!" Zach called out, the others merely watched as Ash left as they had no way of pursuing Roaring Moon.

Pokémon Hunter V boarded his ship and swiftly closed the door behind him. The ship slowly began to move as it aimed towards Lumiose's western exit, aiming towards some unknown destination.

Ash noticed it was slowly picking up speed and with how fast it had retreated upon V losing out on Articuno, Ash knew they needed to board fast or Talonflame wouldn't be able to keep up anymore. "Burn a hole in the side!" Ash shouted out.

"Flame!" Talonflame screeched while firing a flame towards the ship, burning a sharp hole into the side. The hole slowly enlarged before forming large enough to fit Talonflame and the others. Talonflame quickly shot inside right as the ship blasted out of Lumiose City.

"I got the Fennekin." V spoke while holding the statue towards a computer screen. The buyer's image was censored as to protect their identity. The man immediately took note of Bonnie's presence and scratched his chin.

"What's with the girl?"

"There were some complications."

"Lose her, I want that Fennekin. I've already got a shiny Braixen and Delphox, I need it for my collection."

"I'll deal with her as soon as I'm far enough from Lumiose, I've had dealings with the company she keeps and didn't want to outstay my welcome."

"You better."

V looked at Bonnie and scratched his chin before out of the room. "Beta, put the two in containment and prepare for separation. No disintegrations on this one, she's just a kid. We'll drop her off in Alola after selling the prize, that should cheer you up."

"Yes master," The robotic woman bowed like a loyal servant before carrying Fennekin and Bonnie out of the room.

Ash and the others were making their way through the ship and had arrived in the room that previously contained the Pokémon that Ash had set free last time.

"I don't see Bonnie!" Clemont anxiously exclaimed while pulling at his head.

Serena grabbed hold of his arm. "Calm down, Clemont. You're going to need to keep your cool, Ash said he never beat that Salamence before. We're going to need your help if it comes down to a battle."

Clemont wiped away some sweat while slowly nodding his head. "Y-You're right... but what of the Pokémon here?"

"We free them." Ash commented. "I'm not sure how though, last time a Gardevoir teleported them all out and she's not here." He saw an Eevee, Zangoose, Bagon, Gengar and Charmander but none of them, apart from Gengar could get to safety if they were set free.

Clemont adjusted his glasses while retrieving an object from his backpack. "Actually I got just the right invention for that, the teleportation remote! Whatever you hit with it will be sent straight back to their home!"

"Oooh, how nifty!" Serena exclaimed.

"What a coincidence!" Ash exclaimed.

Ash and Serena rushed around and began tearing off the protective layers from the Pokémon while Clemont fired his remote at each one right afterwards. However the remote exploded in Clemont's face immediately after he teleported the last one within the room.

"Ow." Clemont groaned, face covered in soot and ash.

"I guess some things never change," Ash chuckled.

"Yeah." Serena laughed.

Clemont chuckled lightly before wiping away the soot. "Come on, with how fast this ship is going we'll be out of Kalos within the hour!"

"Right." Ash and Serena raced out of the room and up towards the control room where Bonnie and Fennekin could be seen completely free from the protective layer, both within two separate containment devices.

"Bonnie!" Clemont raced towards Bonnie's device.

"Clemont!" She began frantically waving her hands. "Look above you!"

"Sala!"

"Oh my-" Clemont quickly rolled away right as Roaring Moon slammed down into the floor.

"Not this time, kid." V spoke, Ash and Serena quickly turned around expecting to see the hunter only to see him waving at them from behind a screen. Beta was standing behind him as the hunter flashed them a mocking smirk. "Roaring Moon, get them!"

"Sala!" Fire formed within Roaring Moon's mouth as he shot a powerful geyser of fire at Ash and Serena. Ash quickly tackled Serena to the floor while Pikachu rolled aside before racing towards the primal beast.

"Pika!" Pikachu angrily shouted while giving off an electrical shock. "Chuuuu!"

"Sala!" Roaring Moon roared out as electricity flowed through his veins.

"Delphox, use Dazzling Gleam!" Serena shouted while tossing a ball into the air.

"Phox, Delphox!" Ash was surprised upon seeing Braixen's evolved form but he kept his focus on the battle at hand as Delphox waved her wand. A rainbow glow surrounded her body as she charged across the field, slamming her body up against the dragon.

"Sala!" Ash noticed the Dragon uttered out a rather pained screech while taking a sizeable amount of damage.

"It's not a regular Salamence after all."

"It's part Dark!" Clemont snapped his fingers, noticing the reaction as well.

"Man I wish I had a Fairy type." Ash muttered.

"Heliolisk use Parabolic Charge!" Clemont shouted while tossing a ball into the air.

"Heliosk!" The lizard rushed towards his target as he prepared his attack.

"Earthquake!" V shouted out through the monitor.

"Sala!" Roaring Moon slammed his feet against the ground causing Heliolisk, Delphox and Pikachu to drop to their knees.

"Night Slash!"

"Sala!" Roaring Moon's claws glowed purple and black as he slashed at Delphox, knocking her up against Heliosk. Both Pokémon groaned before falling limp as they collapsed against the ground.

"Just how strong is that thing?!" Clemont shouted out.

"Pikachu let's use 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt!" Ash shouted out while Clemont went pale.

"Ash wait, I don't think-" But Ash and Pikachu were already moving in synch as thunder clouds formed above Pikachu's head. The electric mouse leaped up to grab Ash's hat as he threw it up, catching it with his head while his cheeks began glowing multiple different colors.

"Chuuuuu!"

"Sala!" Roaring Moon shielded his eyes before crying out as multiple differently colored electric bolts flowed through him. The electricity spread and hit the machine behind them, freeing Bonnie and Fennekin but it didn't stop and continued spreading before blowing up the ship's engine.

"No!" V shouted out. Multiple explosions sounded throughout the ship while the flooring gave way beneath them.

"Brother!" Bonnie grabbed hold of Fennekin and raced towards her brother's arms. "What do we do?!"

"It's okay Bonnie, I got a plan. Let's-" Their vision went white as they found themselves teleported to the forest below. "Huh?" Clemont looked around, blinking from confusion before noticing a shiny Gardevoir staring right at him. She gave him a brief nod before teleporting back up to the ship.

"Gardevoir?!" Ash called out upon seeing Gardevoir phase into the ship. Gardevoir merely smiled at him as she grabbed onto Serena. "Voir." Gardevoir promised she'd be back as she teleported back to the ground. V's screen suddenly went dark as a loud explosion suddenly shook the ship, Roaring Moon dropped through the floor and fell to the ground below while the explosion reached the room. Ash held onto Pikachu and closed his eyes as he leaped through the hole, Gardevoir wasn't fast enough and there was no time to stay. The ship exploded into pieces above them as they began rapidly descending to the ground.

"Hang up buddy, I just need to reach Talonflame or Noivern's ball and-"

"Grenina!" A blue and black blur sprang into the air, grabbing hold of Ash and Pikachu. The blur began rapidly spinning as it aimed towards a river within the forest. "Ninja!" The blur exclaimed, telling them to hang out as he blasted straight down directly into the water. Ash and Pikachu felt water soak their bodies before feeling dry air as their rescuer pushed them onto land.

"G-Greninja...?" Ash questioned as he slowly opened his eyes, a large smile formed as he held out his arms. "Greninja, it's good to see you again!"

"Ninja!" Greninja latched his arms around Ash as he returned the hug.

"Ash!" Clemont, Bonnie and Serena raced towards Ash while Gardevoir hung back. The shiny watched for a moment before teleporting away, knowing it wasn't the proper time as he just reunited with a close friend.

"Greninja!" Serena exclaimed.

"He's back!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"I take it that means you're done with your job?" Clemont asked before crying out as parts of the ship began raining down around them. Ash looked up but didn't see any sign of V, he didn't fall out with Roaring Moon so he had no idea if the man made it out on time. Hopefully that was the last they saw of the hunter.

"Gre." Greninja nodded.

"Indeed he is." A voice spoke out.

"Squishy!" Bonnie excitedly looked around.

"Hello Bonnie." Though they couldn't see him anywhere.

"Where are you?! I want to hug you!" Bonnie cried out.

"I'd love to show myself Bonnie but I'd be putting you in danger. The danger Lysandre put us through is over but dark forces are at work and looking for me, I can't afford to risk revealing myself at the time. This is goodbye, forever." The voice cut off.

"Squishy..." Bonnie trailed off, tears in her eyes.

"He still likes you," Serena placed her hand on a shoulder while offering a comforting smile. "He's just distancing himself to keep you safe."

"I know... I just miss him..."

"You'll see him again someday, I'll make sure of it!" Ash promised.

"Pi Pikachu!"

"Greninja." Greninja nodded. Squishy had similarly told him to leave, not that Greninja needed protecting but he knew the place he was needed most was with Ash.

"Where are we anyways?" Bonnie asked.

Clemont pulled out his Rotom Phone, bringing up the Pokemaps app. "We crossed the border into Galar."

"Great." Serena groaned out. It was a long way back on foot and Galar's trains didn't cross the border, although it was a thousand years since the regions had a feud, they still had a rivalry going on. The former Galar Champion had supposedly tried to mend the patches before his death but that didn't go anywhere.

"I guess we better start walking," Clemont sighed out.

"Come on what are you guys complaining for, it'll be like the good old days!" Bonnie excitedly exclaimed.

"She's right, it'll be nice traveling with you all for a few days." Ash smirked. "Serena, how about you start cooking something up while the rest of us pitch tents for the night?"

"Sounds good to me!" Serena nodded.

"Alright, it's time for a sleepover!" Bonnie squealed while latching onto Serena's arm.

"Geeta, we got a problem." The Chairwoman of Paldea uttered out a sigh as she turned to face Rose.

"Rose, I thought we agreed that I'd run this region however I pleased."

"We do, this is about something else." Rose held up a Rotom Tablet, showcasing an image of Roaring Moon caged up in a facility somewhere. "How exactly did that thing escape Area Zero?! I agreed to let you do whatever you want so long as nothing enters or leaves Area Zero!" Rose angrily shouted while punching the statue of one of Paldea's many Champions, knocking the head to the floor.

Geeta glanced down at the statue head while calmly shrugging. "I haven't the foggiest idea what could have happened."

Rose narrowed his eyes as he looked her over, Geeta's expression flickered for a brief second but otherwise remained calm. "Fair enough but if I hear about escapee, you and I are going to have words." Geeta calmly watched as Rose left the room before opening up a drawer within her desk.

"Oh Vincent..." She long fully sighed while running her hand along the picture. "I'm so sorry about what I did to you." She spoke while tear drops fell upon the picture.

"Roaring Moon..." V stared down at the facility within Galar's borders, his fists clenched as he eyed it for any weakness or potential points of entry. "How am I going to get you out?"

"Excuse me good sir!" V angrily turned with a growl. "Who-?!" He aimed his cannon at a man that spoke with a Kalos accent.

"Apologies for the scare, my good sir. The name's Francois and I am a Psychic, one with just the right skills to assist you with-"

"Sure pal, have to call Tauros on that one. Ain't no way you're a-Huh?!" V took off his sunglasses and quickly rubbed his eyes before putting them back on as an attractive woman with long flowing blonde hair was standing right in front of him. "H-How on earth...?"

"Most Psychics can use telekinesis or read minds; I've never had the ability to utilize telekinesis, but I do have the gift to manipulate minds. What you see is an attractive woman while the 'real me' is somebody most people would pass in the streets without a second look, a 'bum' as some would say." He said while his face suddenly changed back to normal, showcasing a man with messy greasy black hair and a long goatee while he was dressed like a stereotypical homeless man, patched jacket and all.

"I must say that is quite the talent but how on earth is that of any help to me?" V asked.

"Let me show you," Francois suddenly changed into Rose and held up a mirror, showing that V resembled Oleana.

"Neat trick mate," V gave a nod. "But if we do this, I'm Rose. I'm not pretending to be some woman."

"Fair enough, I'm used to it." Francois said, shifting things around so V was disguised as Rose while Francois resembled Oleana. "Now how about we rescue that pet of yours?"

"Sounds like a solid plan, mate. What are your rates?"

"I'd like a Ditto, you're not the only one who hired me but I can't track those annoying things down."

"That's all? I've caught and sold five Ditto before transitioning into strictly selling shiny Pokémon, you got yourself a deal mate." V shook his hand. "Now let's go save Roaring Moon."

Greninja and Goodra are officially back with Ash
