Harry's excitement was palpable as he introduced Moony to his closest friends. "Ron, Neville, this is my Uncle Moony, Remus Lupin!" Harry exclaimed.

Ron and Neville exchanged warm smiles with Moony, shaking his hand.

"Great to meet you, sir," Ron said.

"Likewise, Ron," Moony replied.

"Hi, Uncle Moony," Neville chimed in.

Next, Harry mentioned his third best friend, Hermione. "And this is where Hermione would be, but she's still on holiday. She'll be back tomorrow."

Moony smiled. "I'm looking forward to meeting her, Harry."

Harry then led Moony to the rest of his friends, who were still lingering in the entrance hall.

"Guys, this is my Uncle Moony," Harry said, gesturing to Susan, Hannah, Justin, Anthony, and the Patil twins.

Susan smiled brightly. "Hi, Mr. Lupin."

"Please, call me Moony," Remus said with a chuckle.

Hannah, Justin, and Anthony echoed Susan's greeting, while Padma and Parvati Patil welcomed Moony with warm smiles.

Moony's eyes sparkled as he chatted with Harry's friends. Though many students were still on holiday, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming.

As they stood there, Harry realized that the new year had already brought him so much joy. Having Moony at Hogwarts was a wonderful surprise, and he couldn't wait to share more adventures with his friends.

Harry led Moony to the Slytherin table, where Sophie Rogers was sitting alone, sipping a cup of tea. "Hey, Sophie! This is my Uncle Moony, Remus Lupin," Harry said.

Sophie's eyes widened slightly as she took in Moony's appearance. "Hi, Mr Lupin," she said politely.

Moony smiled warmly. "Please, call me Moony, Sophie."

Harry continued, "Sophie's one of my Slytherin friends. There are others, but they're still on holiday."

Moony's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Slytherin friends, Harry? You're a Gryffindor, through and through."

Harry chuckled. "I know, but I've got friends from all houses. And one of them is...Draco Malfoy."

Moony's expression changed to shock. "Draco Malfoy? Harry, I thought he was—"

"An enemy, I know," Harry said. "We were, at first. But he's changed, Uncle Moony. He realized he didn't have to follow in his father's footsteps."

Moony's eyes narrowed. "That's quite a transformation. What made him change his ways?"

Harry's voice filled with conviction. "He realized that his father's path wasn't the right one. It wasn't easy for him, but he's trying to make amends."

Moony's expression softened, intrigued by the complexity of Draco's story. "I'd like to meet him, Harry. See this change for myself."

Harry grinned. "I'll arrange it, Uncle Moony. You'll see, Draco's not the same person he used to be."

Harry and Moony climbed the winding stairs to the Astronomy tower, seeking some quiet time together. As they reached the top, Harry turned to Moony with a curious expression.

"Uncle Moony, when did you first meet Dad?" Harry asked.

Moony's face softened, a warm smile spreading across his features. "Ah, I remember it like it was yesterday," Moony said.

Remus began to recount the story of their first meeting. "It was September 1st, 1971, our first train ride to Hogwarts," Moony said.

As Moony spoke, Harry's imagination conjured up the scene. Moony described how, as an eleven-year-old boy, he had been sitting alone in his shabby clothes at a corner of the compartment.

"I was this scrawny, awkward boy, dressed in hand-me-downs," Moony said with a chuckle.

Just then, an eleven-year-old James Potter had walked into the compartment. Moony's eyes sparkled as he described James.

"He had these bright brown eyes, messy black hair – just like yours, Harry – and a bit of a scrawny build," Moony said.

At the time, Moony had not expected anyone to befriend him. His werewolf condition had made him an outcast, and Dumbledore had advised him to keep it a secret.

"I had never really had any friends before," Moony said, his voice tinged with sadness. "But then James came along, and...well, he changed everything."

Harry listened, entranced, as Moony's eyes shone with memories of their first meeting.

Moony's eyes seemed to glaze over as he continued the story. "Then, another boy joined us in the compartment. His name was Peter Pettigrew."

Harry's curiosity was piqued. "Where's Uncle Peter now?" he asked.

Moony's expression turned somber. "He's dead, Harry."

Harry's eyes widened, though he tried to keep his emotions in check. He had always suspected that Peter was dead, but now he had confirmation.

Moony's face grimaced, as if the memory was painful. "Anyway, after Peter arrived, another boy joined us. His name was Sirius Black."

Harry's ears perked up at the mention of his godfather's name. He had always thought Sirius was a good person, despite being presumed dead.

Moony's eyes sparkled as he described the eleven-year-old Sirius. "He had this long, messy hair and a handsome face. He was charming, even back then."

Harry's mind reeled as he tried to process the information. Just two days ago, in his dream with Ginny, he had learned that Sirius was in Azkaban, accused of murdering thirteen people, including Peter Pettigrew. It was a lot to take in.

For a moment, Harry felt like his whole world had been turned upside down. But he pushed his thoughts aside, deciding to keep them to himself for now.

Moony, oblivious to Harry's inner turmoil, continued the story. "We became fast friends, James, Remus, Peter, and Sirius. We were inseparable, and eventually, we formed a group we called the Marauders."

Moony's eyes twinkled with nostalgia. "We even gave each other nicknames – Prongs for James, Moony for me, Wormtail for Peter, and Padfoot for Sirius."

As Moony spoke, Harry felt like he was getting a glimpse into a different world, one that existed before he was born.

Harry's curiosity about his parents led him to ask, "What about my mum, Lily? Did you meet her too?"

Remus smiled, his eyes warm with memories. "I met her on the same day, during the same train ride. She was with Severus Snape, actually."

Moony expected Harry to be surprised, but Harry's expression remained calm. Remus didn't know that Harry had already discovered the connection between Snape and his mother.

"I already knew that, Uncle Moony," Harry said. "I figured it out from Professor Snape's behavior in our first Potions class."

Remus's eyes widened in surprise, but he continued, "Your mother, Lily, was one of the kindest souls I've ever met. She was kind, brave, smart, and always thoughtful, but also very cheeky."

Moony's face lit up with a warm smile. "She had this spark in her eyes, this energy that drew people to her. And she was always there for her friends, no matter what."

Remus's voice filled with admiration. "She was one of the top students in our year, always exceling in her studies. But it was her heart that truly made her special."

Moony's eyes shone with gratitude. "When she found out about my...condition," Moony's voice dropped to a whisper, "she didn't care. In fact, she was the first to figure it out, and she accepted me without hesitation."

Remus's face softened, his eyes misty with memories. "She was the first person to truly understand me, to accept me for who I was. And she never judged me, never treated me differently."

Remus's voice filled with emotion. "Her kindness has been passed down to you, Harry. You have the same heart, the same compassion. If not more."

Harry listened, entranced, as Moony spoke about his mother. He felt like he was getting to know her better, like he was uncovering pieces of a puzzle that had been hidden for too long.

Harry's curiosity about his parents led him to ask, "What was my dad like, Uncle Moony?"

Remus's face broke into a warm smile. "Your dad, James, was always a good person. Yes, he was a prankster, but he had a heart of gold."

Remus continued, "As the only child of your grandparents, Charles and Dorea Potter, James was always pampered. They had him late in life, and he was the center of their universe."

Remus's eyes sparkled with amusement. "That made James a little...or more...arrogant, but his heart was always true. He had a strong sense of justice, and he wouldn't hesitate to stand up for what he believed in."

Remus's expression turned serious. "Yes, at first, James was kind of a bully, but only to those who were bullies to weaker ones. There was one exception, though – Severus Snape. James and Snape had a rivalry from the start."

Harry nodded, understanding now why Snape had been so hostile towards him at first. "I see," Harry said. "But I proved him wrong, didn't I? I'm not my father, and now look at us – we're the makers of the Potter-Snape Amnesia Potion. Isn't it great?"

Remus chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Yes, Harry, it's wonderful. You've come a long way, and I'm proud of you."

Though Harry had just been told about his father's past behavior, he didn't let it change his opinion of him. Instead, he felt a little disappointment, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of understanding. "People change," Harry thought to himself.

He remembered how, just a month ago, Draco Malfoy had undergone a drastic transformation. Draco's change had been difficult, but he had eventually become a close friend of Harry's. Harry realized that if Draco could change, then anyone could.

Another example that came to mind was that of his cousin, Dudley. For ten years, Dudley had bullied Harry relentlessly, but everything changed the day he witnessed his father, Vernon, abusing Harry. Dudley had finally seen the truth and had made amends. Now, Harry and Dudley were not only on speaking terms but actually cared about each other deeply.

"Yes, people change," Harry thought, a sense of hope and understanding filling his heart. "And just like Draco and Dudley, my dad must have changed too."

Moony, as if sensing Harry's turmoil, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Though Moony didn't know that Harry had already come to terms with his father's past, he continued to offer words of comfort.

"Yes, people change, circumstances change, and just like that, your dad also changed," Moony said. "James changed. As he grew up, he lost his arrogance and became the James that Lily fell in love with."

Harry's eyes were fixed on Moony, eager to hear more about his father's transformation.

"James changed slowly at first," Moony continued, "but one incident changed him forever."

Harry's curiosity was piqued. "What was it, Uncle Moony?" he asked.

Remus's expression turned grim, and he hesitated before speaking. "It was when your grandparents, Charles and Dorea Potter, were killed," Moony said, his voice low and somber.

Harry's eyes widened in shock. "What happened?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Moony's eyes clouded over, remembering the painful event. "Charles was a head Auror, and he and Dorea were killed by Death Eaters when James was in his sixth year at Hogwarts."

Harry felt a pang of sadness, a sense of loss for the grandparents he never knew. Charles and Dorea Potter, his father's parents, had been killed by Death Eaters, a tragedy that had indirectly been caused by Voldemort's evil actions. Harry's heart swelled with emotion as he thought about the family he had lost, all because of the Dark Lord's cruelty.

"I'm so sorry, Uncle Moony," Harry said, his voice filled with empathy.

Remus smiled sadly. "It's okay, Harry. They were wonderful people. Your grandparents were very good-natured."

Remus's eyes sparkled with fond memories. "Papa Charles, as I used to call him, was a kind and gentle soul. He told me, James, Sirius, and Peter to call him Papa Charles and Dorea, Mama Dorea."

Harry's ears perked up, intrigued by the warm relationship between Remus and his grandparents.

Remus's expression turned somber. "My parents died when I was in my fourth year. I lived with my aunt, but James's parents became like parents to me too."

Harry nodded, feeling a sense of connection to his family's past.

Harry's curiosity about his parents' relationship led him to ask, "How did my parents get together, Uncle Moony?"

Remus chuckled, a faraway look in his eyes. "James was mesmerized by Lily on first sight. He told me that one day he would marry her."

Harry chuckled at the thought of his father's confidence.

Remus teased, "You know, Potters really have a thing for redheads, don't you, Harry?" Remus recalled Ginny Weasley, Harry's girlfriend, who was still at the Burrow, not yet of age to attend Hogwarts. Harry blushed at the mention of Ginny.

Remus continued, "But Lily was not impressed by James, at least not at first. She thought he was an arrogant toe rag and a bully." Remus's expression turned serious. "She misunderstood him, thought he bullied everyone, but that wasn't true. James, except for Snape, never bullied anyone weak. But Lily didn't understand that until their fifth year."

Remus described how James had asked Lily out every other day from his first year, trying to make her jealous and win her over. "But Lily would rather date a giant squid than arrogant James," Remus said with a chuckle.

However, by the end of their fifth year, Lily's misunderstanding of James had faded, and James had started to change. They became friends, and James stopped asking her out every other day. He became more mature and showed Lily his kinder side.

By mid-sixth year, they had become good friends. And then, when James's parents died at the end of his sixth year, Lily supported him and helped him out of his depression. It was around that time that Lily accepted her feelings towards James, confiding in Remus but not James yet.

In their seventh year, James and Lily became Head Boy and Head Girl, respectively. On their first Hogsmeade weekend, James asked Lily out on a date, not as a romantic partner, but as a friend. Though, by that time, both had developed feelings for each other.

Remus smiled, "And that date became more than friends, and they became a couple."

Remus's eyes sparkled with happy memories as he continued the story. "Soon after graduation, James and Lily got married on August 28th, 1978. It was a beautiful ceremony, and we were all so happy for them."

Remus smiled at Harry. "They started living at Godric's Hollow, and despite the war situation, they were incredibly happy. They were each other's rock, and their love only grew stronger with each passing day."

Remus's expression turned nostalgic. "And then, in late 1979, Lily got pregnant with you, Harry." Harry's face lit up with a warm smile.

Remus chuckled. "At first, they were both very worried. They were young, and the war was still raging on. But at the same time, they couldn't be more happy. As the pregnancy progressed, James and Lily knew it was for the best."

Remus's eyes shone with memories. "They were excited to start a family, and they were determined to give you the best life possible, despite the challenges they faced. They were brave, Harry, and their love for each other and for you only grew stronger with each passing day."

Remus's eyes sparkled with amusement as he continued the story. "As the due date approached, Lily was getting more and more excited. And you, Harry, were quite mischievous in her womb, but she loved every moment of it."

Remus chuckled, remembering the joy of that time. "And on July 31st, you came to life, Harry. I was there, and I've never seen James so happy and crying at the same time. He was over the moon."

Remus's expression turned descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the scene. "James's eyes were shining with tears, and his face was lit up with the biggest smile I've ever seen. He was holding you in his arms, Harry, and he looked like he was holding the entire world."

Remus's voice dropped to a whisper, his eyes locked on Harry's. "He was so gentle, so careful, as if he was afraid of breaking you. And when he looked at you, Harry, I saw something in his eyes that I'd never seen before. It was a deep, abiding love, a love that would move mountains and conquer the world."

Harry's eyes shone with tears as he listened to Remus's words. He felt a deep sense of connection to his parents, a sense of love and belonging that he had never felt before. His heart swelled with emotion, and he felt like he was going to burst with happiness. "He loved me that much?" Harry asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Remus nodded, a warm smile on his face. "Yes, Harry, he loved you more than anything in the world."

Remus's eyes sparkled with memories as he continued the story. "And then, Lily held you in her arms for the first time, Harry. She forgot all the pain of delivery, and she became so happy, so happy. She looked at you with eyes that shone like stars, and her face lit up with a radiant smile."

Remus's voice was filled with emotion as he described the scene. "Lily was totally flabbergasted, forgot everything, and all that mattered was you, Harry. Her little Harry. And when you wrapped your tiny hand around her pinky finger, she burst into happy tears."

Remus's eyes shone with memories. "James came near, hugged both Lily and you, Harry. And you, little one, wrapped your hand around James's pinky finger too. It was as if you were holding onto them, and they were holding onto you, promising to never let go."

Remus's voice choked as he continued. "James and Lily made a promise to you, baby Harry, that no matter what, they would keep you safe. They would sacrifice themselves for you, if need be. They vowed to protect you with their lives, and they meant every word of it."

Harry's eyes overflowed with tears as he listened to Remus's words. He felt a deep sense of love and connection to his parents, a sense of gratitude for the sacrifices they made for him. His heart swelled with emotion, and he felt like he was going to burst with happiness and sadness all at once. "They loved me that much?" Harry asked, his voice barely above a whisper, his eyes shining with tears.

Harry's voice was barely above a whisper, but it was filled with emotion. "They fulfilled their promise, didn't they? They died to save me. For me, they died, and I survived."

Remus's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at Harry. He could see the pain and the guilt etched on Harry's face, and he knew that he had to comfort him. Remus opened his arms, and Harry walked into them, embracing him tightly.

Moony hugged Harry back, holding him close as they both supported each other in their emotions. "Yes, Harry, they did," Remus whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "They loved you so much, and they gave their lives to save you. You are the embodiment of their love, Harry."

As they hugged, Remus could feel Harry's tears soaking into his shirt, and he knew that he was crying too. They stood there for a long time, holding each other, and letting the emotions wash over them.

After a while, Harry and Remus pulled apart, and they made their way to the Great Hall for the New Year's feast. As they entered the Great Hall, Remus was greeted by the students as Mr. Lupin , but to Harry's friends, he was affectionately known as Uncle Moony.

They made their way to the Gryffindor table, where Harry's friends were waiting. Remus was surprised to see students from different houses sitting together at the Gryffindor table. Harry smiled and explained, "We've at least partially united the Hogwarts houses, Uncle Moony."

Remus's eyes widened as he looked around the table. "I see," he said, smiling. "So, let's see... we have Susan, Hannah, Justin, and Lily Moon from Hufflepuff, Lisa, Sue, Anthony, and Michael from Ravenclaw, Sophie, Daphne, and Blaise from Slytherin, and of course, Dean, Seamus, Sally, Parvati, and Lavender from Gryffindor. And then there's your best friends, Neville and Ron."

Harry nodded, smiling. "And Hermione will be back tomorrow from her Christmas holidays. Draco will be back too, along with the rest of my friends."

After the feast, Harry and Remus made their way to an empty classroom for a final conversation before Remus's departure. Harry looked at Remus with a curious expression and asked, "People change, right? So, tell me, how did my godfather Sirius, Padfoot, change and become a murderer?"

Remus's expression turned somber, and he took a deep breath before answering. It was a question he had dreaded but expected Harry to ask. "I know two people who changed, Harry," Remus said. "Peter and Sirius."

Harry's eyes narrowed in confusion. "What about Uncle Peter?" he asked.

Remus's eyes clouded over, and he began to explain. "Peter was the weakest of the Marauders, always living in our shadows. While Sirius was the most handsome and attractive one among us. He was quite smart too."

Remus paused, collecting his thoughts before continuing. "Peter came from a well-to-do family, but not a rich one. He was smart, but not as intelligent and efficient as the rest of us. On the other hand, Sirius came from the family of Blacks, extremist pure-bloods. The Blacks were always Slytherin, but Sirius was different. He was against his family's views and became the first Black in Gryffindor."

Remus's expression turned serious. "He was against Voldemort's views, or so it seemed. Yes, he was made your godfather, Harry."

Remus's expression turned solemn, and he sighed before continuing. "What I'm going to tell you, Harry, is not known by many, but I think it's your right to know."

Remus paused, collecting his thoughts before proceeding. "Actually, James and Lily went into hiding when you were just eight months old. Only a handful of people knew where they were hiding."

Remus's eyes clouded over as he continued. "After a few months, Dumbledore prescribed them a special hiding charm - the Fidelius charm." Remus explained, "The Fidelius charm is a powerful spell that hides a secret within a person, making it impossible for anyone to extract the information from them, even under torture or Legilimency."

Harry's eyes widened as he listened intently, his mind racing with the implications of the Fidelius charm. "I understand," Harry said, his voice filled with a newfound understanding.

Remus's expression turned grave as he continued to explain the Fidelius charm. "The charm needs a secret keeper, someone who will hold the secret of the hidden location within themselves. At the time, we all knew there was a spy amongst us, but we didn't know who it was."

Remus's eyes clouded over with memories of the past. "James and Lily were very careful, but they had to choose someone they trusted. In the end, they made Sirius their secret keeper. Only the three of them, and Dumbledore, knew about it."

Remus's voice dropped to a whisper, and his eyes filled with a deep sadness. "But, indeed, Sirius turned out to be the spy, Harry. He betrayed James and Lily, and told Voldemort their location."

Harry's eyes blazed with anger as he listened to Remus's words. All the love he had for his godfather, Padfoot, from memories of his babyhood seemed to fade away. "It was all fake," Harry muttered, his voice trembling with rage.

Remus's expression was somber as he continued the story. "After that, Voldemort vanished, and you survived, Harry. Sirius's plan failed. He even tried to collect you that night, but Hagrid was there on Dumbledore's orders."

Remus's eyes clouded over as he described the events that followed. "Sirius tried to run after Hagrid left, but then something unexpected happened. Peter, driven by grief and anger, chased Sirius through the streets, which were full of Muggles."

Remus's voice dropped to a whisper. "It was then that Sirius cast a curse that killed 12 Muggles and Peter too. All that was left of Peter was his finger."

Remus's eyes locked onto Harry's, his expression filled with a deep sadness. "And in this way, James's almost-brother, the brave one, became the betrayer, and Peter, the little one, the fool, became a martyr, a hero."

Remus's expression turned somber as he continued. "I don't know what happened to Sirius, how he changed, but now he's in Azkaban, serving a life sentence for the past 10 years."

Harry's eyes widened as he remembered reading about Azkaban in a library book. "Azkaban," he whispered, his voice filled with a mix of fear and fascination. "The prison guarded by Dementors, where the prisoners are driven mad by the constant presence of the Dementors."

Remus's eyes filled with sadness as he looked at Harry. "Yes, Harry. That's where Sirius is now. But I'm glad I could tell you the truth, no matter how painful it is."

Remus opened his arms, and Harry walked into them, embracing him tightly. "Thank you, Uncle Moony," Harry whispered, his voice muffled against Remus's chest.

Remus hugged Harry back, holding him close for a long moment. Then, he stepped back, smiled, and said, "I'll see you soon, Harry. Take care of yourself." With that, Remus turned and stepped into the fireplace, disappearing into the Floo Network, leaving Harry alone with his thoughts.

Harry's anger boiled over, and he stormed out of the common room, running up the stairs to the boys' dormitory. It was almost night, and the only ones present were Neville and Ron. They looked up in surprise as Harry burst into the room, his face twisted in a mixture of anger and hurt.

Neville and Ron exchanged worried glances, having never seen Harry this angry before. "Harry, what's wrong?" Neville asked, trying to calm him down.

Ron stepped forward, placing a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Mate, what's going on?"

Harry's eyes blazed with fury as he turned to his friends. "You won't believe what I just found out," he spat, his voice trembling with rage. "Sirius Black, Padfoot, he's the one who betrayed my parents. He's the reason they're dead."

Neville and Ron looked at each other in shock, their faces pale with surprise. "What?" Ron whispered, his eyes wide with incredulity. "That can't be true, Harry."

Harry couldn't shake off the anger and betrayal he felt. He lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, his mind racing with thoughts of Sirius Black, Padfoot. After a while, Neville and Ron drifted off to sleep, but Harry couldn't. He suddenly remembered the small secret box he kept in his drawer.

He got out of bed and retrieved the box, opening it to reveal the four stick figures he had made eight years ago. They represented his mum, dad, Moony, and Padfoot. Harry's anger boiled over as he looked at Padfoot's stick figure. He had taken comfort in it all these years, believing that Padfoot was a loyal friend of his parents.

For a moment, Harry was about to break the stick figure, but for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to do it. He put the stick figure back in the box and closed it. He knew he needed to talk to someone, and that someone was Ginny. He couldn't wait to see her in person, but since she was at the Burrow and not yet old enough to attend Hogwarts, there was only one way to meet her tonight.

Harry lay back in bed, a small smile on his face. He would meet Ginny in their dreamland, their little secret, a result of their love and bond. With that thought, Harry drifted off to sleep, eager to see Ginny in their dream world.

Harry woke up in his dreamland, a familiar and comforting place where he could meet Ginny whenever they were apart. As he looked around, Ginny materialized in front of him, her bright smile and sparkling eyes a welcome sight.

"Hey," Ginny said, her voice soft and gentle. "What's wrong? You look upset."

Harry took a deep breath and told Ginny everything Remus had told him about Sirius Black. Ginny listened intently, her expression growing more and more concerned as Harry spoke.

"But here's the thing," Harry said, his brow furrowed in confusion. "I couldn't help but feel that something is off. I mean, Moony told me that Sirius betrayed my parents, but for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to break his stick figure. And then I started thinking, did Moony really give me proof? Or did he just tell me what he heard?"

Ginny's eyes widened as she realized where Harry's thoughts were leading. "You're wondering if Sirius is really guilty, aren't you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Harry nodded, his mind racing with doubts and questions. "And if he's not guilty, that means an innocent man has been in Azkaban for the past 10 years. My godfather."

Harry tried to push the thoughts of Sirius Black and his parents' death to the back of his mind. He focused on the present, and the fact that Hermione was returning today. After his morning routine of exercises, he took a shower and then woke Ron and Neville up. The three of them headed to the common room, where they saw Hermione walking towards them, a big smile on her face. They all delightedly hugged each other, happy to be reunited after the holidays.

"Hey, guys!" Hermione exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. "I missed you all so much!" Ron, Neville, and Harry grinned at each other, happy to have their friend back.

After the warm reunion, the four friends headed to breakfast together. Classes wouldn't begin until January 4th, so there wasn't much to do. But then, the Daily Prophet arrived, delivered by Hedwig, Harry's owl. Harry opened the newspaper, and Hermione, Ron, and Neville gathered around him. At the same time, other students and teachers opened their own copies of the Prophet.

The headline was shocking: "Mass Murderer Sirius Black Escapes." The article stated that on January 1st, Sirius Black, a mass murderer and one of the top Death Eaters of Voldemort's time, had escaped from Azkaban after 10 years of imprisonment. The article went on to say that no one knew how he had escaped, and that he was the first person ever to break out of Azkaban.

"Blimey!" Ron exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock. "How did he do it?" Neville asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

Harry, Neville, and Ron exchanged a look, remembering what Harry had told them the previous day. Hermione gave them a questioning look, sensing that something was amiss. "What's going on?" she asked. Harry hesitated, looking around the crowded common room. "Let's talk about it somewhere private," he said.

After finding an empty classroom, Harry recounted the story of Sirius Black's betrayal to Hermione. He told her everything Remus had told him, and then turned to all three of his friends. "Guys, I don't know what it is, but something just doesn't feel right. My heart is telling me that Sirius, my godfather, isn't a betrayer."

Hermione's expression was thoughtful, but Ron's face was scrunched up in confusion. "I don't know, Harry," Ron said, "but for some reason, I have to agree with you. Sirius does seem innocent." Neville nodded in agreement, and Hermione's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I know it sounds crazy, but I have to agree with you too, Harry. There's just something that doesn't add up."

Neville's eyes were wide with excitement. "If all three of you are saying that, then there must be something to it. But how can Sirius be innocent? And even if he is, why did he escape from Azkaban now? Why did he wait for 10 years?"

Harry's eyes locked onto his friends'. "I don't know, but I think we need to find out. There's more to this story than we're being told."

Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall were gathered in the headmaster's office, their faces grave with concern. "What is the meaning of this?" Dumbledore asked, his eyes scanning the Daily Prophet headline. "Sirius Black, a mass murderer, escapes from Azkaban after 10 years?"

Snape's expression was skeptical. "It seems unlikely that he would escape now, after all these years." McGonagall nodded in agreement. "And what about the timing? It's almost as if he's trying to send a message."

The three of them remembered the night of November 18, when Harry had been struck by the Dream Reality Convergence. Due to Snape's Legilimency, they had all seen some of Harry's early memories, including the fact that Sirius was not the Secret Keeper. Dumbledore had contacted Amelia Bones, the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, three days ago, but now, with Sirius's escape, everything had changed.

Just then, Amelia Bones flooed into the headmaster's office. "Ah, Amelia," Dumbledore said, rising from his seat. "Thank you for coming."

Amelia's expression was serious. "I've been researching the old Ministry files, Albus. And I have to say, the more I learn, the more I believe that Sirius is innocent."

Snape raised an eyebrow. "Innocent? But what about the evidence against him?"

Amelia shook her head. "That's just it, Severus. Sirius never received a trial. He was imprisoned without due process."

Dumbledore nodded. "Yes, I'm aware of that, Amelia. But at the time, the proof seemed to be against him. However, now...I'm not so sure."

Amelia's eyes locked onto Dumbledore's. "I really believe that Sirius is innocent, Albus. But the question is, why did he escape Azkaban now?"

The Great Hall was filled with the usual chatter and clinking of utensils on plates as the students and professors gathered for dinner. However, the atmosphere quickly turned somber as Professor Dumbledore stood up to address the assembly.

"My dear students and colleagues," Dumbledore began, his voice grave and serious. "I regret to inform you that, due to the recent escape of a prisoner from Azkaban, the Dementors that guard the prison will be stationed at the walls of Hogwarts."

A murmur of concern rippled through the hall, and Dumbledore's eyes swept over the students, his expression stern. "I must warn you all about the Dementors. They are foul creatures that feed on human happiness, leaving their victims with a sense of despair and hopelessness."

Dumbledore's voice took on a cautionary tone. "Dementors do not often distinguish between their prisoners and the innocent. They are attracted to the happiness and positive emotions that abound in this castle, and they will not hesitate to attack anyone who crosses their path."

The students exchanged nervous glances, and Dumbledore's eyes seemed to bore into each and every one of them. "I urge you all to be vigilant and cautious. If you see a Dementor, do not approach it. Stay calm and try to think of a happy memory. The Dementors' presence can be unsettling, but with caution and vigilance, we can minimize the risk of any... unpleasantness."

The hall fell silent, the only sound the clinking of utensils on plates as the students and professors digested the grave news.

Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Neville were huddled together in the Gryffindor common room, pouring over a library book about the history of the wizarding world. They were specifically interested in the section about Sirius Black, and as they read, their eyes widened in shock.

" 'Sirius Black was never given a trial,' " Hermione read aloud, her voice barely above a whisper. " 'He was sentenced to life in Azkaban by the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the time, Bartemius Crouch Sr.' "

Ron's eyes met Harry's. "This is getting weirder and weirder," he said. "First, we think that Sirius was never the Secret Keeper, and now this."

Neville's face was grim as he read on. "It says here that Barty Crouch Sr. also gave life sentences to his own son, Barty Crouch Jr., as well as Bellatrix Lestrange and the Lestrange brothers. They were all accused of torturing Aurors Alice and Frank Longbottom."

The group fell silent, their faces somber. They all knew about Neville's parents, and the thought of what they had endured was unbearable. Ron and Harry exchanged a glance, and Hermione's eyes were filled with compassion as she looked at Neville.

"But this is another fact that points to Sirius's innocence," Hermione said, her voice filled with determination. "We have to keep digging, guys. There's more to this story than we're being told."

The next day, Draco Malfoy returned from his holidays, and Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Crabbe were all waiting for him near McGonagall's floo. As Draco emerged from the flames, they shared warm greetings. Draco's eyes scanned the group, and his expression faltered for a moment when he realized that Goyle was not there.

"Hey, Draco," Harry said, clapping him on the back. "Welcome back. We were starting to think you'd forgotten about us."

Draco smiled, but it was clear that he was a little disheartened by Goyle's absence. "No, of course not," he said. "I just...I was hoping Goyle would be here too."

Vincent Crabbe, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "Don't worry, Draco. Goyle will come around. He's just being stubborn, that's all."

Draco nodded, and he and Crabbe exchanged a look. "Thanks, Vinny," Draco said. "I appreciate it."

After a few more minutes of conversation, Draco and Crabbe left to head to their common room. "I'll meet you guys in the empty classroom this afternoon, okay?" Draco said to Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Neville. "We can catch up some more then."

"Sounds good," Harry said, grinning. "We'll see you then, Draco."

In the cozy Gryffindor common room, Ron turned to Harry with a concerned expression. "Are you sure we should tell Draco about Fluffy?" he asked, his voice low.

Harry nodded firmly. "Yes, I'm sure. We need to trust him, Ron." Hermione, who was sitting nearby, nodded in agreement. "I think we should tell him, Ron. We can't keep him in the dark forever."

Neville, who was sitting on the other side of the room, shrugged. "I don't know, guys. I'm neutral on this one."

The group fell silent for a moment, each lost in their own thoughts. Despite the current drama surrounding Sirius Black, they hadn't forgotten about the Sorcerer's Stone and the suspicion that Snape might be after it.

"I still think Snape is after the Stone," Ron said, his voice firm.

Neville nodded in agreement. "I do too. He's always been a bit... suspicious."

Hermione hesitated. "I'm not so sure. I mean, Snape does seem a bit... odd, but I'm not convinced he's after the Stone."

Harry shook his head. "I don't think it's Snape, guys. I think it's Quirrell. He's been acting really strangely lately."

At 3 pm, Draco arrived at the empty classroom, and Harry immediately knew something was wrong. There was a small bleed on Draco's lower lip, and his eyes seemed to be flashing with a mixture of anger and hurt. His usual smirk was replaced by a scowl, and his shoulders were tense.

"What happened?" Harry asked, his eyes narrowing as he took in Draco's appearance.

Draco tried to brush it off. "Just a fight in the Slytherin common room," he said, his voice casual, but Harry could detect a hint of anger beneath the surface.

But Harry knew better. He straight asked, "Did Goyle do that?"

Draco nodded, his eyes flashing with anger. "Yeah, he did."

Draco then told them that when he and Crabbe went to their common room, Draco had tried to tell Goyle that the light side was the right path, not the dark side. But Goyle had refused to listen, and things had escalated.

"Why did you punch him?" Harry asked, his eyes narrowing as he studied Draco's face.

Draco turned a little pink as he told them that Goyle had called Hermione a mudblood during their verbal fight. "I couldn't just stand there and let him insult her," Draco said, his voice filled with indignation.

Harry's eyes widened in surprise, but then a small smile played on his lips. He was the only one who had guessed that Draco had a crush on Hermione.

Ron and Neville's doubts about Draco faded away as they listened to his story. Hermione, though touched by Draco's actions, scolded him gently.

"You shouldn't have fought him, Draco," she said, her eyes sparkling with concern. "You could have gotten hurt."

But Draco just shrugged. "Now you're my friend, Hermione," he said, his eyes flashing with determination. "And I never let anyone insult my friends."

Harry leaned in, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, Draco, what if I told you that we know what's on the third floor corridor?" he said, his voice low.

Draco's eyes widened in surprise. "What are you talking about?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

Harry grinned. "We know about the three-headed dog, Fluffy," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Draco's jaw dropped. "You can't be serious," he said, his voice incredulous. "A Cerberus at Hogwarts?"

Ron chuckled. "Yeah, and Harry's even befriended the thing," he said, his eyes teasing.

Draco shook his head, a smile spreading across his face. "Wait till my father hears about this," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.

Hermione leaned in, her eyes serious. "We also found out that the Sorcerer's Stone is hidden under the trapdoor," she said, her voice low.

Draco's eyes narrowed. "What makes you think that?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

Neville spoke up. "We've been doing some research, and we think that either Snape or Quirrell might be after the Stone," he said, his voice cautious.

Draco raised an eyebrow. "Personally, I don't think Snape would be after the Stone," he said, his voice thoughtful. "But since there's another suspect, Quirrell, I couldn't be sure."

Harry's eyes lit up with excitement. "Finally, someone who doesn't think Snape is the bad guy," he said, his voice filled with amusement.

Draco smiled wryly. "Don't get too excited, Potter," he said, his voice dry. "I'm not saying Snape is a saint or anything."

As they sat in the empty classroom, their discussion turned to Sirius Black. Harry and his friends told Draco about how Sirius was Harry's godfather and Secret Keeper, and how something didn't feel right about the whole situation.

"I just can't believe Sirius would be a murderer," Harry said, shaking his head. "There's something amiss here."

Draco nodded thoughtfully. "I agree with you, Harry. There's definitely something strange going on."

Ron spoke up. "But why did he escape Azkaban now, after 10 years?"

Draco leaned in, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "You know, my father never mentions Sirius Black. I find that really strange."

Ron raised an eyebrow. "Maybe that's because he's in Azkaban," he said.

Draco shook his head. "No, that's not it. My dad mentions other people who are in Azkaban, like Bellatrix Lestrange."

Hermione's eyes widened. "Bellatrix Lestrange? Isn't she...?"

Draco nodded. "Yes, she's my aunt. But that's not the point. The point is that my dad mentions her, but never Sirius Black."

Neville spoke up. "Maybe that's because Bellatrix is your aunt," he said.

Draco shook his head. "No, it's more than that. You see, my mother's maiden name was Narcissa Black."

Harry's eyes widened in surprise. "Narcissa Black? That means...Sirius is your uncle!"

Draco nodded. "Yes, that's right. And if my dad mentions Bellatrix, who was one of the top Death Eaters, then why not Sirius, who was also a top Death Eater? Something is clearly amiss here."

Draco's eyes locked onto Harry's. "I think we need to dig deeper, Harry. There's more to this story than we're being told."

Harry nodded in agreement. "I think you're right, Draco. Let's see what we can find out."

Hermione's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Draco, can you explain your family tree to us? Maybe we can find someone who can give us some information," she asked.

Draco nodded, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Okay, let's see...I'm the eldest son of Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Malfoy, nee Black. My younger brother is Scorpius," he began.

"That's the Malfoy side, which isn't really relevant here," Draco continued. "But if we look at my mom's side, that is, the Black family...my mom, Narcissa, was the third daughter of Druella Black, nee Rosier, and Cygnus Black."

Draco's eyes scanned the group as he continued. "Along with my mom, they had two other daughters: Bellatrix Lestrange, nee Black, who's my aunt, and Andromeda Tonks, nee Black, who's also my aunt."

"Yes!" Draco exclaimed. "Andromeda Tonks, my other aunt, was disowned from the Black family because she married a Muggleborn, Ted Tonks, and had a daughter, Nymphadora Tonks."

Draco's face lit up with excitement. "This is it! We can contact either my Aunt Andy or my cousin Nymphadora Tonks. They might be able to give us some information."

Draco's eyes widened as he realized something. "Wait a minute," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "My maternal grandfather, Cygnus Black, was the brother of Walburga Black, who married Orion Black, her cousin. They had two sons, Sirius Black and Regulus Black."

Draco's eyes scanned the group as he continued. "And since Sirius is the only male Black alive, despite being disowned, he's technically the sole heir of the Black family."

Harry's eyes lit up with understanding. "I think I see where you're going with this, Draco," he said.

Draco nodded. "Yes, my grandfather Cygnus was one of the sons of Pollux Black, who was the sibling of Dorea Black."

Harry's eyes widened in surprise. "Dorea Black is my grandmother," he said. "She married Charles Potter, my grandfather, and they had my dad, James, at a very late age, which is why there's a similar age gap between us despite being from different generations."

Hermione, Ron, and Neville looked confused. "What do you mean?" Ron asked.

Harry explained. "It means that Draco and I are second cousins, and maybe Nymphadora Tonks too."

Ron teased, "What a confusing family tree!"

Draco smirked. "And it gets even more complicated. Ron, your grandmother was a Black, Cedrella Black. She was disowned because she married a blood traitor, Septimus Weasley, who had Arthur, your dad."

Neville breathed a sigh of relief. "At least I'm safe."

But Draco shocked his head. "No, Neville, you're not safe either. Cedrella's sister, Callidora, married Harfang Longbottom, who is your great-grandfather."

Hermione's eyes widened in surprise. "That means that Draco, Harry, Neville, and Ron are all very distinctly related."

Harry's face suddenly turned bright red as he exclaimed, "I don't want to be related to Ron!" Ron looked at him in surprise, asking, "Why?"

Harry blushed and stammered, "I-I don't know, it's just...if we're related, that would mean that Ginny and I are...third or fourth cousins or something." Hermione burst out laughing at Harry's distress.

Draco chuckled and reassured Harry, "Don't worry, Harry. You're very distinctly related to Ginny. It's not like you're closely related or anything." Harry let out a sigh of relief, clearly grateful that he didn't have to worry about being closely related to his girlfriend.

Ron teased, "Hey, Harry, don't worry about it. Being related to me isn't that bad, is it?" Harry playfully rolled his eyes, and the group shared a laugh.

Hermione smiled and said, "I think we can all agree that family trees are a bit...complicated." The group nodded in agreement, and they continued to discuss their complex family relationships.

Neville reminded the group, "We're getting off topic, remember? We were discussing how to find out more about Sirius Black's innocence." The group refocused their attention on the matter at hand.

"Right," Harry said, "we decided that we need to contact either Andromeda Tonks or Nymphadora Tonks to see if they can provide us with any information about Sirius."

"But why did Sirius escape Azkaban?" Ron asked, his brow furrowed in concern. "That's still the big question."

Harry nodded. "I'll write a letter to Nymphadora Tonks and see if she can help us out."

Ron's eyes lit up. "Actually, I think I can help with that. Nymphadora Tonks is a good friend of my brother Charlie's."

"Really?" Draco asked, his interest piqued.

Ron explained, "Charlie told me that Nymphadora Tonks is currently under the Auror training programme."

Hermione's eyes widened in excitement. "That's perfect! Since Nymphadora is an Auror in training, she might be able to really help us with Sirius's case."

Draco nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's a great lead. Let's hope Nymphadora can provide us with some useful information."

Just then, Harry's cat Kluer, a Balkino-Kneazle who could change its size, breed, and color, arrived in the room, its fur currently black. Draco watched in amazement as Harry reacted with the animal, but it was nothing new for Ron, Neville, and Hermione, who had seen Harry's way with animals before.

Harry had always had a special connection with animals, and it seemed that he could understand their language in some way, although it wasn't as if he could speak their language. Kluer jumped onto Harry's lap, and he stroked its fur, listening intently.

"What's wrong, Kluer?" Harry asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

Kluer meowed, and Harry's expression turned serious. "Ron, Scabbers is missing," he said, turning to his friend.

Ron's eyes widened in alarm. "What? No, that's not possible! Kluer must have eaten him!" he exclaimed.

Harry shook his head. "No, Kluer didn't eat him. Besides, Kluer doesn't eat rats," he said calmly.

But Ron was not convinced. "How do I know that? You're always saying that Kluer is special, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't eat Scabbers!" Ron argued.

Draco, Hermione, and Neville tried to intervene, but Ron and Harry continued to argue.

"Ron, trust me, Kluer wouldn't eat Scabbers," Harry said firmly.

But Ron was still skeptical. "I don't know, Harry. You're always so sure about Kluer, but what if you're wrong this time?" he asked.

Hermione tried to calm Ron down. "Ron, let's not jump to conclusions. We don't know what happened to Scabbers yet," she said.

Ron finally calmed down, realizing that Kluer couldn't have eaten Scabbers. "You're right, Harry. Kluer can't eat Scabbers. But where is Scabbers, then?" he asked.

The group fell silent, pondering the question. Why was Scabbers missing? And was there a connection between Scabbers' disappearance and Sirius Black's escape from Azkaban?
