After breakfast, Harry made his way to the Quidditch field, where the Gryffindor team was waiting for him. Oliver Wood, the team captain and keeper, was pacing back and forth, looking frazzled.
"Ah, Harry, finally!" Oliver exclaimed, his voice tinged with frustration. "We've been waiting for you. You're late!"
"Sorry, Oliver," Harry said, feeling a bit sheepish. "I lost track of time."
Oliver scowled. "Well, let's get started then. We don't have much time before the final match against Ravenclaw on April 11th."
The team began to practice, with the Chasers - Angelina Johansson, Alicia Spinnet, and Katie Bell - flying around the pitch, trying to score goals. The Beaters - Fred and George Weasley - were busy hitting Bludgers with their bats, trying to disrupt the opposing team's gameplay. Meanwhile, Oliver was practicing his goalkeeping skills, and Harry was flying around the pitch, trying to catch the Golden Snitch.
As they practiced, Oliver yelled out instructions and encouragement, trying to motivate the team to do their best. "Come on, team! We can do this! We just need to work together and focus!"
The practice session was intense, with the team flying around the pitch, sweating and panting. Harry was determined to do his best, knowing that the final match against Ravenclaw was just around the corner.
As the practice session came to an end, Oliver gathered the team around him. "Alright, team, let's take a break. We'll be practicing again tomorrow, so make sure you're all rested and ready to go."
The team nodded, exhausted but determined to win the Quidditch Cup. Harry, meanwhile, couldn't wait to tell his friends about the letter from Gringotts. He would have to wait until evening, though, when they could all meet up in secret.
After a grueling Quidditch practice, Harry decided to take a break and fly around the Hogwarts grounds on his trusty Nimbus 2000. The wind rushed past his face as he soared through the air, feeling free and exhilarated.
As he flew, Harry's gaze wandered towards the Forbidden Forest, which loomed in the distance. The forest had always fascinated him, with its towering trees, twinkling fairies, and mysterious creatures. Harry had a way with animals, and he felt an inexplicable connection to the natural world.
"I wish I could explore the forest," Harry said to himself, his eyes fixed longingly on the trees. He had always been drawn to the forest, despite the warnings from the professors and the dangers that lurked within.
Harry had walked along the forest's boundaries with Hagrid on several occasions, feeding his hippogriff and thestrals. But he had never ventured deeper into the forest, despite his curiosity. That was, until the night he fell into the forest during a Quidditch match and met Sirius for the first time.
That encounter had only piqued Harry's interest in the forest, and he found himself wondering what secrets lay hidden beneath the trees. But he knew he shouldn't go into the forest alone, not without permission from the professors or Hagrid.
"I'll have to wait," Harry said to himself, reluctantly turning his broomstick away from the forest. But he couldn't shake the feeling that the forest was calling to him, tempting him to explore its secrets.
By evening, Harry made his way to the secret garden, where he met with his friends Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Neville. They were all waiting for him, eager to hear about the mysterious letter from Gringotts.
"Hey, guys," Harry said, as he approached them. "I'm sorry I'm late. I had to fly around the grounds to cool off after practice."
The house-elves, Chimey, Blinky, and Wobby, fussed over Harry, worried about his sweat-drenched clothes. "Master Harry, you're all sweaty!" Chimey exclaimed. "Let us get you a towel!"
Harry smiled, grateful for their concern. "Thanks, Chimey. I'm fine, really."
Once the house-elves had settled down, Harry pulled out the letter from Gringotts and showed it to his friends. "I got this letter from Gringotts today," he said, his eyes scanning their faces. "It's from Bank Manager Bagnod. He says they've finished the work they've been doing for the past seven months."
Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Neville all looked at each other, their faces filled with curiosity. "What work?" Draco asked, his voice tinged with intrigue.
Harry took a deep breath before answering. "I think it's about my parents' will. I think they've finally unlocked the seal."
Sirius, who had been listening quietly until now, spoke up. "A seal? What do you mean?"
Harry explained, "I'm the friend of the Goblin Nation, and they've been working to unlock the seal on my parents' will. I think it's finally been done."
Sirius's eyes widened in surprise. "You're the friend of the Goblin Nation? I didn't know that."
Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Neville all nodded. "Yeah, Harry's been friends with the goblins since his first day in wizarding world ," Ron explained.
The group fell silent for a moment, thinking about the implications of the letter. Then, Hermione spoke up. "If the will mentions Peter as the Secret Keeper, we might be able to get Sirius a trial."
Sirius's eyes lit up with hope. "A trial? Do you think it's possible?"
Harry nodded. "We'll have to wait and see what the will says. But if it does mention Peter, we might have a chance to clear your name, Sirius."
The group fell silent again, lost in their own thoughts. But Harry knew that they would all be waiting anxiously for the next day, when Bagnod would arrive with the will.
As they sat in the secret garden, discussing the implications of the letter from Gringotts, Hermione turned to Harry and asked, "Are you going to tell Dumbledore about this?"
Harry hesitated, unsure of what to do. "I don't know," he said. "Should we tell him before meeting Bagnod?"
Draco spoke up, "I think we should tell him. He's the headmaster, after all. He should know what's going on."
Ron nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and he might be able to help us figure out what's in the will."
Neville added, "And he might be able to protect us from whatever is in the will."
Hermione nodded thoughtfully. "I think we should tell him. It's always better to be safe than sorry."
In the end, it was decided that Harry would tell Dumbledore about the letter from Gringotts.
As the evening drew to a close, Harry and his friends bid farewell to Sirius and the house-elves, who had grown fond of them. "Thanks for the snacks, Chimey," Harry said, smiling.
Chimey beamed with pride. "Anytime, Master Harry. Come back soon!"
The house-elves, Blinky, Wobby, and Chimey, all waved goodbye as Harry and his friends left the secret garden.
In the Great Hall, the atmosphere was lively and festive. Almost all of the first years were sitting at the Gryffindor table, a testament to Harry's efforts to unite the school. Since the first day, Harry had been trying to bring the students together, and by November, he had successfully united Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. And since Draco had joined their group in December, at least the first years were united, except for a few holdouts.
As they ate dinner, the students chatted about their Sunday and the upcoming Quidditch Final and final exams. The Gryffindor table was filled with laughter and chatter, while the Slytherin table was more subdued, with Pansy, Millicent, Goyle, and Theodore Nott looking on disapprovingly.
Blaise Zabini, who was sitting at the Slytherin table, looked up and caught Harry's eye. He raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything.
Harry ignored him and continued talking to his friends.
Later, Harry got up and walked over to the teachers' table. "Professor Dumbledore, may I have a word with you?" he asked.
Dumbledore looked up from his plate and smiled. "Of course, Harry. Come to my office at 9 pm. We'll talk then."
Harry nodded and returned to the Gryffindor table, feeling a sense of anticipation and wonder about what the next day would bring.
Here's a more detailed description:
As the evening drew to a close, Harry's best friends, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Draco, exchanged knowing glances, and Draco made his way to the Slytherin common room with Crabbe, Daphne, and Tracey. The group had grown accustomed to Draco's presence, and they had all become close friends.
In the Gryffindor common room, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville sat near the fire for a while, chatting and laughing. They talked about their day, sharing stories and jokes. As the time approached 9 pm, Harry got up to head to Dumbledore's office.
"I'll be back soon," Harry said, smiling at his friends. "I just need to talk to Professor Dumbledore."
He took the familiar route to the headmaster's office, giving the password "Acid Pops" to the gargoyle, and then climbing the spiral stairs to the office door. He knocked, and a calm voice bid him enter.
As he entered the office, Harry was amused to see Professor McGonagall (whom he affectionately called "Gran Minnie" when not in class), Uncle Moony (Remus Lupin), and a woman whom he assumed must be Amelia Bones, the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement (DMLE).
Harry went over to hug Uncle Moony, who smiled warmly and hugged him back. Amelia Bones introduced herself formally, and Harry showed his gratitude, knowing that she, like the others in the room, was working to prove Sirius's innocence.
"It's an honor to meet you, ma'am," Harry said, trying to sound formal.
Amelia smiled warmly. "Please, call me Amelia. We're not formal here. And I must say, I'm impressed by your bravery and determination."
"Thank you, ma'am," Harry replied, feeling a little awestruck by the dignified woman.
Amelia waved off his thanks, saying, "Please, call me Amelia. And I must say, I'm not just doing this for Sirius because it's my duty as the head of the DMLE. Sirius and I... we were friends in school. And I want to see justice done."
Harry noticed something in Amelia's eyes, a flicker of emotion that made him wonder if she had been more than just friends with Sirius.
Gran Minnie spoke up, saying, "We were just having a discussion, Harry. It's been four months, and we still don't have proof of Sirius's innocence. Snape and the Weasleys' parents left just a few minutes ago, after our meeting ended."
Harry then turned to Dumbledore and said, "Sir, I wanted to tell you something. It's just what we needed. We may have proof by tomorrow."
Dumbledore's eyes lit up with interest, and he leaned forward in his chair. "Tell me, Harry," he said, his voice filled with anticipation.
Harry took a deep breath and began to explain the letter from Gringotts. "It's from Bank Manager Bagnod," he said. "He says they've finished the work they've been doing for the past seven months."
Amelia's eyes widened with interest. "What work?" she asked.
Harry hesitated for a moment before answering. "I think it's about my parents' will. I think they've finally unlocked the seal."
Remus's eyes lit up with excitement. "That's incredible, Harry!" he exclaimed.
Dumbledore nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, this could be the break we need to prove Sirius's innocence."
Amelia turned to Harry with a curious expression. "Harry, how did you manage to get the goblins to cooperate with you?" she asked.
Harry blushed, feeling a little self-conscious. "I'm the friend of the Goblin Nation," he said quietly.
Amelia's eyes widened in surprise. "You're the friend of the Goblin Nation?" she repeated. "I've never heard of that before."
Remus nodded proudly. "Yes, Harry's been a great friend to the goblins. He's always shown them respect and kindness."
Dumbledore smiled. "Yes, Harry's unique gift for connecting with creatures has been a great asset to us."
Gran Minnie spoke up, a warm smile on her face. "And it's not just the goblins, Harry. You've also managed to bring Professor Binns to life."
Harry chuckled, remembering the time he had asked Professor Binns to teach history from a more diverse perspective. "I just wanted to make history more interesting," he said.
Gran Minnie laughed. "Well, you certainly succeeded. And now, the goblins are even sharing their version of history with us."
Amelia's eyes shone with admiration. "You're an incredible young wizard, Harry," she said. "I'm deeply impressed."
Remus nodded proudly. "Yes, Harry's always been a remarkable young wizard. I'm so proud of him."
Remus and McGonagall exchanged a knowing glance before turning to Harry. "You know, Harry, 10 years ago, we asked the goblins about your parents' will," Remus said. "But they denied its existence."
Harry's eyes widened in surprise. "But someone had sealed the will with dark magic, spells, charms, and runes," he explained. "I think that's why the goblins couldn't remember it."
McGonagall nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense. But what's interesting is that the spell broke when you asked the goblins about the will 7 months ago."
Dumbledore's eyes sparkled with interest. "I think I see," he said. "The compulsion charm on the goblins was designed to only allow them to remember the existence of the will if a Potter asked them about it."
Remus nodded in agreement. "That's a very clever spell. But who could have cast it?"
Dumbledore's expression turned thoughtful. "I think it's likely that some Death Eaters wanted to adopt you, Harry. They would have wanted to keep your parents' will a secret."
McGonagall added sharply, "And after your parents' death, Sirius was imprisoned, and Remus was unable to get custody of you due to his... condition."
Dumbledore nodded. "And McGonagall here also wanted to adopt you, but I... denied her request."
Harry's eyes widened in surprise. "You did?" he asked, his voice a little less polite than usual.
Dumbledore sighed. "I'm afraid I must explain, Harry. I had my reasons for denying McGonagall's request, and I think it's time I told you why."
McGonagall's eyes flashed with anger, still evident even after 10 years. "Yes, Dumbledore, I think it's time you told Harry the truth."
Dumbledore's eyes sparkled with a hint of sadness as he continued to explain. "Ten years ago, Harry, you survived the Killing Curse. A feat that is considered impossible," he said, his voice filled with a sense of wonder.
Amelia's eyes widened in shock. "You mean, he survived... You-Know-Who's curse?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Dumbledore nodded. "Yes, that's correct. But what's even more remarkable is that Harry survived the curse because of a sacrificial blood protection charm cast by his mother, Lily," he explained, his eyes shining with tears.
Amelia's eyes sparkled with tears. "That's incredible," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.
Dumbledore's expression turned somber. "After the fall of... Voldemort," he said, his voice steady, "Harry was in grave danger. The Death Eaters were still out for revenge, and Harry was their number one target."
Amelia and McGonagall flinched at the mention of Voldemort's name, but Harry was happy to see that Remus didn't react with fear.
Dumbledore continued, "So, I made the difficult decision to place Harry with his only living blood relatives, the Dursleys. It was the only way to keep him safe from the Death Eaters."
Harry's heart twisted with pain as he thought about the abuse he had suffered at the hands of the Dursleys. He wondered how guilty Dumbledore would feel if he knew the truth.
Amelia's eyes widened in surprise. "Isn't... You-Know-Who dead?" she asked, her voice filled with confusion.
Dumbledore, McGonagall, Remus, and Harry all shook their heads in unison.
"No, Amelia," Dumbledore said, his voice filled with a sense of foreboding. "Voldemort was weakened, but not killed. He is still out there, waiting for his chance to return. And when he does, Harry will be in terrible danger. He will stop at nothing to kill Harry, the boy who was responsible for his downfall."
Amelia's face paled. "Haven't you warned the Ministry?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.
Dumbledore's eyes clouded over. "I tried to warn Minister Fudge 10 years ago, but he didn't take me seriously. And I fear that he won't believe me until... Voldemort returns," he said, his voice filled with a sense of resignation.
The room fell silent, the only sound the ticking of the clock on the wall. Harry's heart was racing with fear, but he knew that he had to be brave.
Dumbledore continued, his eyes twinkling with a hint of sadness. "I constructed blood wards around the Dursleys' house, Harry. These wards were an extension of your mother's sacrificial charm, and they helped to protect you from harm."
Harry's eyes widened in amazement. "So, what I've been seeing around the Dursleys' house... the magical shield energy... those are the wards?" he thought to himself, but didn't voice his thoughts out loud.
Dumbledore nodded. " However, I had to be careful about who was allowed to visit you. Until your core matured, which is usually around the age of 11, there was a chance that any wizard in the area could damage the wards."
McGonagall and Remus exchanged a glance, and Harry could sense their regret. "That's why I didn't allow McGonagall and Remus to meet you these past 10 years, Harry," Dumbledore explained. "But I did place Arabella Figg, a Squib, to keep an eye on you."
Harry's eyes lit up with recognition. "Arabella Figg? I remember her! She visited me in the hospital when I was battered by the Blasting Curse before starting at Hogwarts."
Dumbledore nodded. "Yes, that's correct. Arabella has been keeping an eye on you for many years, Harry."
Harry's mind was racing with thoughts and emotions. He thought to himself, "If Dumbledore finds out about the abuse I suffered at the hands of the Dursleys, he will feel even more guilty." Harry vowed to himself that he would never let the truth out.
As he sat there, listening to Dumbledore's words, Harry's heart swelled with emotion. He thought to himself, "It was my mum's sacrifice that kept me alive. Her love and protection have been with me all along."
The discussion turned back to the Goblin's letter and the Potter will. Dumbledore's eyes sparkled with hope. "We're very close, Harry. With this new information, Sirius may finally get a trial and be cleared of all charges."
Amelia stood up, a determined look on her face. "I'll make sure to get to work on this right away," she said. "Thank you, Harry, for bringing this to our attention."
Remus and McGonagall also stood up, saying their goodbyes. As they left, Dumbledore turned to Harry and asked, "Harry, would you like to stay for a moment? I think you wanted to ask me something, but in private."
Harry nodded, and once they were alone, he said, "Sir, I wanted to tell you something. I've been able to see the blood wards around the Dursleys' house."
Dumbledore's eyes widened in surprise. "Really, Harry? I've never heard of anyone being able to see blood wards before."
Harry shrugged. "I didn't know what it meant, sir. I thought it might be like my ability to read auras."
Dumbledore leaned forward, his eyes shining with interest. "Reading auras is a rare ability, Harry, as I told you before. But seeing blood wards is something entirely new."
"Have you read the book I gave you on reading auras, Harry?" Dumbledore asked.
Harry blushed, feeling a little guilty. "I just read the first few pages, sir. But with everything that's been going on... Sirius, Quidditch, school, exams... I just haven't had the time."
Dumbledore smiled understandingly. "I know you're busy, Harry. But I think it's time you learned more about your abilities. We'll discuss this further another time."
Harry nodded, feeling a sense of relief. "Thank you, sir. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Harry," Dumbledore replied, smiling.
Harry fell into a deep sleep, his mind still reeling from the events of the day. But as he drifted off, he found himself in a familiar place - the dreamland he shared with Ginny. It was their little secret, a place where they could be together, free from the worries of the wizarding world.
"I had the craziest day today," Harry said, his voice filled with excitement. "I got a letter from Gringotts, and then I talked to Dumbledore about it."
Ginny's eyes sparkled with interest. "What did the letter say?" she asked.
Harry filled her in on all the details, from the letter to his conversation with Dumbledore. Ginny listened intently, her face filled with concern and curiosity.
"I'm so proud of you, Harry," Ginny said, her voice filled with love. "You're so brave and strong."
Harry smiled, feeling his heart swell with love for Ginny. "Thanks, Ginny," he said. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
The next day, March 30th, was a Monday. Harry met up with his best friends - Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Draco - in the secret room.
"I had a talk with Dumbledore yesterday," Harry said, his eyes shining with excitement. "I told him about the Goblins' letter and my parents' will."
Hermione's eyes widened with interest. "What did he say?" she asked.
Harry filled them in on the details, leaving out the part about the blood wards. His friends listened intently, their faces filled with concern and curiosity.
Throughout the day, Harry struggled to focus in class. They had Charms with Slytherin, Herbology with Hufflepuffs, Astronomy with Hufflepuffs, and two continuous Transfiguration classes with Ravenclaws. But Harry's mind was preoccupied with thoughts of his parents' will, the possibility of Sirius being freed, and the stress of it all.
"Hey, Harry, what's wrong?" Ron asked, as they walked to their next class.
Harry just shook his head. "I'm just a bit preoccupied, that's all," he said.
But the truth was, Harry was excited to meet Bagnod, the Goblin who had written the letter. He was eager to learn more about his parents' will and the possibility of Sirius being freed. The stress of it all was weighing heavily on his mind, but he was determined to stay focused and see this through.
Harry entered the room, his heart racing with anticipation. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity. The room was set up for his meeting with Mr. Bagnod, the Gringotts manager. Harry had obtained permission from Dumbledore to meet with Mr. Bagnod, and he was determined to make the most of this opportunity.
As he entered the room, Harry bowed his head and greeted Mr. Bagnod in a common Goblin phrase. "May your vaults never remain empty," he said, his voice filled with respect.
Mr. Bagnod's face broke into a wide smile as he greeted Harry similarly. "May your treasure always be plentiful," he replied, his voice filled with warmth.
The two of them sat down in the chairs provided, and Mr. Bagnod began to apologize. "I am sorry it took us seven months to unlock the seal on your parents' will," he said, his voice filled with regret.
Harry waved his hand in a gesture of respect. "It is not your fault, Mr. Bagnod," he said. "Whoever cast the dark seal on the will is to blame. You and your people have done an amazing job in unlocking it."
Mr. Bagnod nodded, his eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Harry," he said. "Your respect and understanding mean a great deal to us."
Bagnod carefully placed the will on the desk in front of Harry. The parchment was yellowed with age, and the ink had faded to a deep brown. The words "The Last Will and Testament of James and Lily Potter" were written in bold letters across the top of the page, with intricate flourishes and curlicues that seemed to dance across the parchment.
Harry's heart skipped a beat as he reached out to touch the parchment. He felt a sense of reverence wash over him as he began to read the words that his parents had written so many years ago.
"'If you are reading this, Harry, it means that we are no more, but you are,'" Harry read aloud, his voice trembling with emotion. "'And that is all we want. Never blame yourself, Harry. It was our choice.'" Harry's eyes welled up with tears as he read the words, feeling a deep sense of sadness and loss.
The will continued, "'We appoint our son, Harry James Potter, as the sole heir of the Potter and Evans fortune. If we have had a child after the writing of this will, then our son, Harry James Potter, and our unborn daughter, Daisy, shall inherit the fortune equally. However, the regulation of the fortune shall be done by Harry, as he is the elder.'" Harry's eyes widened in shock as he read the words. He had a sister? A baby sister who would have been born after him? Yes he had dreams about it , lost memories but the will was ultimate proof that yes he would have been a big brother if just...
Harry's mind reeled as he thought about the implications of the will. He would have had a sister, someone to grow up with and share his experiences with. The thought filled him with a deep sense of sadness and loss, knowing that he would never get to meet his sister or know what she would have been like.
As Harry continued to read the will, he came across a passage that mentioned his parents' wishes for his future. "'We want you to be happy, Harry,'" the will read. "'We want you to follow your dreams and make the most of the opportunities that come your way. Never forget that you are loved, and that you will always be loved, no matter what.'" Harry's eyes welled up with tears as he read the words, feeling a deep sense of love and connection to his parents.
But as Harry read on, he couldn't shake off the feeling of sadness and loss that had settled over him. He felt overwhelmed with emotion, and he gently placed the will back on the table. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had been given a glimpse into a life that could have been, a life that he would never get to experience.
Harry took a deep breath and continued to read the will. The words danced across the page, revealing the extent of his inheritance. "I, James Potter, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do hereby declare this to be my Last Will and Testament," the will read.
As Harry read on, he discovered that he would inherit the Trust Vault (687), the Potter Family Vault (89), the Evans Vault (1256), Potter Cottage, and other properties. This was not news to Harry, as he had already known about his inheritance. In fact, as a friend of the Goblin Nation, he had the privilege of checking his ancestry and had discovered that he was not only the sole heir of the Potters but also of the Peverells, Merlins, Gaunts, Graces, Smiths, Gryffindors, Slytherins, Hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws. He was also the heir of the Flamels and Blacks.
As Harry continued to read, he came across a passage that explained why his father, James, had not been able to read his own father's will. "My father, Charles Potter, passed away before I came of age," the will read. "Due to the war, I was unable to read his will. Therefore, I have attached his will, along with my mother's, Dorea Potter, to the end of this document."
The will then continued with messages for other people, starting with a message for their unborn baby girl, Daisy. "If you are reading this, Daisy, it means that you were born after we wrote this will," the message read. "We are so sorry that we were unable to save you, but we want you to know that we love you and will always be with you in spirit."
The next message was for Sirius, followed by one for Remus, then Peter, and finally Alice Longbottom. Harry's eyes scanned the page, taking in the words of love and encouragement that his parents had left for their loved ones.
Harry's eyes scanned the page as he read the final part of his parents' will. The words were like a window into the past, revealing the hopes and dreams that his parents had for his future.
"'If we should die,'" Harry read aloud, his voice trembling with emotion, "'we appoint Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, as his guardian. We want Harry to be raised together with Remus Lupin, who has been like a brother to us. We know that the Ministry has rules regarding werewolves and custody of children, but we do not accept those rules. Remus is a kind and loving person, and we know that he will always put Harry's needs first.'" Harry's eyes welled up with tears as he read the words, feeling a deep sense of love and connection to his parents.
The will continued, "'If for some reason Sirius is unable to care for Harry, then we appoint Alice Longbottom as his guardian. Next in line is Minerva McGonagall, then Albus Dumbledore, and finally, Rubeus Hagrid. The same applies to our unborn daughter, Daisy, if she is born.'" Harry's eyes scanned the page, taking in the names of the people who had been chosen to care for him and his sister.
As Harry read on, he came across a shocking revelation. "'We have appointed Peter Pettigrew as our Secret Keeper,'" the will read. "'We had originally chosen Sirius, but we changed our minds at the last minute for extra safety. However, if we should still die, the blame will lie with Peter, not Sirius.'" Harry's eyes widened in anger as he read the words, feeling a deep sense of betrayal and anger towards Peter Pettigrew.
Mr. Bagnod looked at Harry with a somber expression. "Is there anything you would like to ask, Harry?" he asked.
Harry thought for a moment before responding. "No, Mr. Bagnod," he said. "I think I understand everything."
Harry's eyes widened as Mr. Bagnod handed him another parchment. "This is the will of Charles and Dorea Potter," Mr. Bagnod explained. "As mentioned in your parents' will, this will now applies to you as their grandson."
Harry's hands trembled with excitement as he read the words. The will mentioned the existence of the Potter Manor, a grand estate that had been in the Potter family for generations. It also mentioned the Potter Family Vault (89), which Harry already knew about.
As he finished reading the will, Harry felt a surge of hope. His parents' will had provided the proof he needed to clear Sirius's name. "Mr. Bagnod, may I request a few copies of this will?" Harry asked politely.
Mr. Bagnod nodded. "Of course, Harry. I'll have them made for you immediately."
A few moments later, Mr. Bagnod handed Harry a folder containing several copies of the will. Harry shook his hand gratefully. "Thank you, Mr. Bagnod. Thank you for everything."
Mr. Bagnod smiled. "You're welcome, Harry. I'm just glad I could help."
With that, Mr. Bagnod left, leaving Harry alone with the will. Harry carefully placed the original will in a safe place, and then put the copies in the folder. He felt a sense of determination wash over him. He was one step closer to clearing Sirius's name and bringing Peter Pettigrew to justice.
Harry made his way to the secret garden, where his best friends Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Draco were waiting with Sirius. Dumbledore and Remus were also there, their faces filled with concern and anticipation.
As Harry approached, he handed out copies of the will to each of them. Sirius and Remus's eyes scanned the pages, and they too grew emotional. "Lily was pregnant?" Remus whispered, his voice trembling with shock.
Sirius nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "We had no idea," he said. "But now we have proof against Peter. We can finally clear my name."
Dumbledore's eyes twinkled with a hint of a smile. "Well done, Harry," he said. "You have done an excellent job in uncovering the truth. Now, let us proceed to the next step."
"Harry, Remus, please follow me to my office," Dumbledore said, his voice firm but gentle. "We have much to discuss."
Sirius nodded, his eyes locked on Harry's. "I'll stay here and keep hidden," he said. "But I'll be waiting for news."
Hermione, Draco, and Ron nodded in unison. "We'll head back to the dormitory," Ron said. "But we'll be back to check on you, Harry."
As they parted ways, Harry felt a sense of determination wash over him. He was one step closer to clearing Sirius's name and bringing Peter Pettigrew to justice.
Harry and Remus, also known as Moony, sat in the headmaster's office, surrounded by the warm glow of candles and the comforting smell of old books. They had an emotional conversation regarding the will, their voices hushed as they discussed the revelation that Lily had been pregnant at the time of her death.
"I had no idea," Remus said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I feel like I've lost her all over again."
Harry nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "I know how you feel," he said. "But we have to focus on clearing Sirius's name now."
Just then, Dumbledore entered the room, followed by McGonagall and Snape. "Good evening, Harry," McGonagall said, her voice warm and gentle.
"Good evening, Professor," Harry replied, standing up to greet them.
Snape merely nodded, his eyes gleaming with intensity in the candlelight.
Next, Ginny's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, arrived. Mrs. Weasley swept Harry into a bone-crushing hug, which he returned eagerly.
"We're so proud of you, Harry," Mrs. Weasley said, her voice muffled against his shoulder.
Mr. Weasley patted Harry on the back, his eyes shining with warmth. "You're a true Gryffindor, Harry," he said.
Finally, Amelia Bones arrived, her face set in a determined expression. "Good evening, Harry," she said, her voice firm but friendly.
"Good evening, Madam Bones," Harry replied, feeling a sense of respect for the stern but fair-minded witch.
The room fell silent as Dumbledore began to speak. "We all know why we're here," he said. "The will contains the proof we need to clear Sirius's name. Tomorrow, we will present this evidence and ask for a trial for Sirius Black."
The room erupted into a flurry of discussion and planning, with everyone present eager to do their part in clearing Sirius's name and bringing Peter Pettigrew to justice.
The group had come to a unanimous decision: they would take Sirius to trial. However, they also agreed that they would not mention the fact that Sirius and Peter were illegal Animagi during the trial.
"We can't risk discrediting Sirius," McGonagall explained. "If we bring up the Animagus business, it could be seen as a desperate attempt to clear his name."
"And it could also make Peter more cautious," Snape added. "We don't want to give him any reason to go into hiding."
Dumbledore nodded in agreement. "We will focus on proving Sirius's innocence and Peter's guilt. Once we have won the trial in Sirius's favor, we can reveal the truth about the Animagi."
"I agree," Amelia Bones said. "We must be strategic in our approach. We can't risk jeopardizing the trial."
The group nodded in agreement, their faces set with determination. They were ready to take on the challenge ahead and clear Sirius's name once and for all.
After the meeting, everyone left except Amelia Bones, Remus Lupin, and Harry. Harry sat down, re-reading the will to himself, while Dumbledore began to formulate a plan for the next day.
Remus approached Amelia, whispering something in her ear. "I know you loved Sirius," he said. Amelia's eyes widened in surprise, and Remus asked, "Do you still?"
Amelia's face softened, and she replied, "Yes, I do. My heart never wanted to believe Sirius was a traitor." Remus sighed, and Amelia continued, "But he never loved me back."
Remus smiled wistfully. "That may be true for now, but maybe after Sirius is free, you can make a place in his heart." Amelia's face lit up with a hint of hope, and she smiled, saying "Maybe."
Remus then asked Amelia if she wanted to meet Sirius. Amelia shook her head, saying, "I don't think I can, not yet. I'm not ready." With that, she left the room.
Harry then approached Remus, asking, "Moony, I sensed something last night. Was Amelia Sirius's girlfriend?" Remus chuckled, amused by Harry's perceptiveness.
"Almost right, Harry," Remus said with a grin. "Amelia was a year older than us when we were at Hogwarts. Yes, she loved Sirius, but Sirius never loved her... or at least, not yet," Remus added with a wink.
Harry smiled, and he and Remus shared a warm hug. Remus then left, leaving Harry alone with Dumbledore.
"Goodnight, Professor," Harry said, bidding Dumbledore farewell.
"Goodnight, Harry," Dumbledore replied, his eyes twinkling in the dim light.
Harry then made his way to the secret garden, where he knew Sirius would be waiting.
As Harry entered the secret garden, he was greeted by the familiar sight of Chimey, Blinky, and Wobby, the house-elves, busily working with the chickens. Harry smiled and joined in, helping the house-elves with their tasks. The house-elves chattered and laughed, happy to have Harry's company.
The house-elves had taken a special interest in caring for Padfoot, the large black dog that was Sirius's Animagus form. Not only did they feed him well, but they also showered him with love and attention. This was not just because they were kind to all living creatures, but also because Sirius was one of Harry's beloved friends, and the house-elves adored Harry. Harry was the one who treated them like family, despite having no relation to them, and he helped them daily.
As Harry worked, he caught sight of Padfoot, who was now much healthier than he had been two months ago. Padfoot, sensing Harry's presence, trotted over to him, his tail wagging excitedly.
"Hello, Padfoot!" Harry exclaimed, scratching the dog behind the ears. Padfoot licked Harry's face, and Harry fell down, laughing, as the dog continued to lick him all over.
"Gross, Padfoot!" Harry said, standing up and laughing, as Sirius transformed from the dog into his human form.
Sirius grinned, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Sorry, Harry. Padfoot gets a bit carried away sometimes."
Harry smiled, still chuckling. "It's okay, I don't mind. But I have some news to share with you. Tomorrow, Dumbledore and Amelia Bones will request a trial for you."
Sirius's expression turned serious, his eyes locked on Harry's. "How did this happen?" Harry then told him about the discussion they had in the office after he left the secret garden in the evening.
Sirius listened intently, his face set with determination. When Harry finished, Sirius smiled, seeing Harry happy and hopeful. "Thanks, Harry. I'm glad to hear that things are moving forward. Let's hope everything goes well tomorrow."
After dinner in the Great Hall, Harry made his way to the secret room, where his best friends Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Neville were waiting for him. Harry repeated the same news he had shared with Sirius earlier, telling them about the trial and the plan to clear Sirius's name.
The group listened intently, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation. When Harry finished, they all started discussing the possibilities and the potential outcomes of the trial.
As the discussion came to a close, the group decided it was time to part ways. Draco bid the others farewell and headed to the Slytherin common room, while the others made their way to the Gryffindor common room.
Once they were settled in, they started working on their homework. After completing their assignments, they moved on to their mandatory discussion on the mysterious snake that was trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone.
"I'm telling you, it's Quirrell," Harry said, repeating his theory. "He's the one who's been trying to get past Fluffy."
"But Harry, we've been over this," Ron said, shaking his head. "Quirrell doesn't have any reason to want the Stone."
"Yeah, and besides, Snape is the one who's been acting suspiciously," Hermione added.
Harry frowned, feeling frustrated. "I know Snape isn't after the Stone," he said. "I just know it."
But despite his conviction, none of his friends believed him. They all thought Snape was the most likely suspect, and Harry couldn't convince them otherwise.
As Harry entered the dormitory, he was greeted by the soft hooting of his owl, Hedwig. She was perched on her pedestal, a letter clutched in her talons. Harry's eyes lit up as he recognized the handwriting - it was from his cousin, Dudley. Harry had been looking forward to hearing from Dudley all month.
Harry sat down on his bed and opened the letter. Dudley's monthly letters had become a highlight of Harry's month. Since Dudley had realized that Harry had been abused by his parents, their relationship had undergone a significant transformation. Dudley had apologized for his past behavior and had even stopped bullying others.
As Harry read the letter, he learned that Dudley was doing alright. He had finally managed to distance himself from his former friend, Piers, who had been a bad influence on him. Dudley had also started to make new friends at Smeltings, his school. Harry smiled, feeling happy for his cousin.
After finishing the letter, Harry sat down to write a reply. He told Dudley all about the events of the past month, including the two Quidditch matches between Slytherin and Hufflepuff, and Slytherin and Ravenclaw. He also mentioned his Quidditch practice, as the final match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw was just 11 days away.
"I'm really nervous about the match," Harry wrote. "But I'm also excited. I think we have a good chance of winning."
Harry also wrote about Sirius, telling Dudley about the plan to clear his name and the upcoming trial. He finished the letter and sealed it, attaching it to Hedwig's leg.
"Take care, Hedwig," Harry said, stroking her feathers. "And don't forget to take Poco with you."
Hedwig hooted softly and spread her wings, taking off into the night sky. Poco, Harry's little sparrow, perched on her back, chirping excitedly as they flew away.
Harry watched them go, feeling a sense of wonder at the special bond between Hedwig and Poco. Hedwig had taken Poco under her wing, literally, and was training the little sparrow to deliver letters.
After they had gone, Harry turned his attention to his cat, Kluer, who was purring contentedly on his lap. Kluer had the ability to change the color and texture of her fur, and Harry loved watching her transform.
As the evening drew to a close, Harry got up and walked over to his dresser. He opened the top drawer and pulled out a small box that he hadn't opened in days. He lifted the lid, and four small stick figures tumbled out.
They were figures of his parents, James and Lily Potter, and his godfathers, Remus Lupin (Moony) and Sirius Black (Padfoot). Harry had made them in art class eight years ago, and they held a special place in his heart.
"Hello, Mum," Harry said, picking up the figure of his mother. "Hello, Dad." He smiled, feeling a sense of comfort and peace wash over him.
Even though he now had Moony and Padfoot in his life, these stick figures still held a special significance for him. They reminded him of the happy times, of the love and laughter that he had shared with his parents.
As he talked to the stick figures, Harry felt a sense of calm wash over him. It was as if his parents were still with him, watching over him, and guiding him through the ups and downs of life.
As the night drew to a close, Harry smiled to himself, feeling content and at peace. He had spent the evening thinking about his parents, Sirius, and his friends, and he felt grateful for the love and support that surrounded him. He drifted off to sleep, his mind filled with thoughts of the next day's events.
But as he slept, Harry's mind took him to a different place - a dreamland where he was reunited with Ginny. She was waiting for him, a smile on her face, and her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Hey, why are you late today?" Ginny asked, her voice filled with laughter.
But Harry didn't answer. Instead, he pulled Ginny into a kiss, feeling a rush of happiness and excitement. Ginny's lips were soft and warm, and Harry felt like he was melting into her.
"I'm sorry," Harry said, pulling back from the kiss. "I was just talking to my stick figures."
Ginny's eyes softened. "Your stick figures?" she repeated. "You know I'm the only one who knows about them."
Harry nodded. "I know. I just feel like I can tell you anything."
Ginny smiled. "You can, Harry. I'm always here for you."
Harry took a deep breath, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Ginny. "I also got a letter from Dudley today," he said.
Ginny's eyes lit up with interest. "What did he say?" she asked.
Harry told Ginny all about Dudley's letter, and then he told her about his parents' will. As he spoke, some tears leaked from his eyes, and Ginny reached out to wipe them away.
"I'm so sorry, Harry," she said. "I can only imagine how hard this must be for you."
Harry took a deep breath, feeling a sense of sadness wash over him. "It's just...I always knew that my mum was pregnant with a baby sister," he said. "And the will confirmed it."
Ginny's eyes widened in surprise. "That's amazing," she said.
Harry nodded. "And the weirdest thing is that in my dreams, I've always called my unborn sister Daisy. And it turns out that's what my parents were going to name her."
Ginny's eyes sparkled with amazement. "That's incredible," she said.
Harry smiled, feeling a sense of wonder at the strange coincidence. "I know, right?" he said.
Then he told Ginny about their plan to ask for a trial for Sirius the next day. Ginny listened intently, her eyes filled with concern and support.
"What do you think will happen?" Ginny asked.
Harry shrugged. "I don't know. But I have to try. I have to clear Sirius's name."
Ginny nodded. "I know you will, Harry. You're the bravest person I know."
Harry smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Ginny. "Thanks, Ginny," he said. "Just knowing that you're here for me makes me feel better."
As they stood on the Quidditch pitch in Harry's dream, Ginny turned to him with a mischievous grin. "Want to play a game of Quidditch to relieve some stress?" she asked.
Harry's eyes lit up. "Definitely," he said.
They mounted their broomsticks and took to the skies, the wind rushing past them as they chased after the Quaffle. Harry felt a sense of freedom and exhilaration as he played the game he loved.
After they finished playing, Ginny led Harry to a quiet spot on the outskirts of the pitch. She sat down on the grass, and Harry sat down beside her, his head in her lap.
Ginny's fingers stroked through his hair, soothing his worries away. "I love you, Harry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I love you too, Ginny," Harry replied, his eyes closing in bliss.
As they sat there, wrapped in each other's love, Harry felt his worries and fears melting away. But as the sun began to rise in the dream world, Harry knew it was time to wake up.
Harry woke up in his dorm on March 31st, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. Today was the big day - the day when Dumbledore and Amelia Bones would request a trial for Sirius.
Though Harry knew he wouldn't be able to attend the meeting at the Ministry, he was determined to be there when Sirius was granted a trial. He was confident that with Dumbledore's help, they would be able to clear Sirius's name and bring him home.
At the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore and Amelia Bones arrived, having already scheduled a meeting with Minister Fudge. Dolores Umbridge, the Senior Undersecretary, was already present, her expression disdainful, but she said nothing.
Amelia and Dumbledore entered the office, and Amelia began to speak. "As you may recall, Minister Fudge, at the last Wizengamot meeting on February 12th, it was decided that if we were able to collect any evidence in favor of Sirius Black, proving him innocent of either of the crimes he's been accused of - being a traitor to the Potters or killing 12 Muggles and 1 wizard, Peter Pettigrew - the Ministry would provide a fair trial for Sirius Black, which was never given to him."
Amelia paused, then continued. "We now have proof that proves Sirius wasn't the Secret Keeper. We've obtained the Potter will, which clearly states that Peter Pettigrew was the Secret Keeper, not Sirius."
Minister Fudge read the will, his expression changing from skepticism to surprise. "Indeed, it appears that Sirius Black was not the Secret Keeper," he said.
Umbridge spoke up, her voice dripping with disdain. "Why was there no will before?" she asked.
Dumbledore replied calmly, "The Potter will was sealed by a dark rune. The Goblins have attached the same to the document."
Umbridge looked disgusted, but Minister Fudge nodded. "Very well, I approve for a trial. Sirius Black will be given a fair trial on April 4th."
Amelia smiled, a look of relief on her face. "Thank you, Minister Fudge," she said.
Dumbledore nodded in agreement. "Indeed, thank you, Minister. This is a crucial step towards clearing Sirius's name and bringing him home."
As the evening sun cast its warm glow over the secret garden, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Draco gathered around Sirius, who was sitting on a bench, a smile on his face. They all held copies of the Daily Prophet, and their eyes scanned the headlines and articles, their faces filled with excitement and happiness.
The headline read: "Sirius Black to be Given Trial: Ministry of Magic Reverses Decision". The article below explained that after new evidence had come to light, the Ministry of Magic had decided to grant Sirius Black a trial, which would take place on April 4th.
"'The Ministry of Magic is pleased to announce that Sirius Black, who has been imprisoned in Azkaban for 10 years, will be given a trial to prove his innocence,' the article read. 'This decision comes after new evidence was presented to the Ministry, which suggests that Black may not have been involved in the death of 12 Muggles and 1 wizard, Peter Pettigrew, as previously thought.'"
Harry's eyes scanned the article, a huge smile on his face. "This is amazing!" he exclaimed. "Sirius is finally going to get the chance to prove his innocence!"
Sirius smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "Thanks to you, Harry," he said. "I don't know what I would have done without you."
The group sat in silence for a moment, enjoying the warmth and happiness of the moment. Then Ron spoke up, a grin on his face. "We should celebrate!" he exclaimed.
The group cheered and hugged each other, basking in the joy and excitement of the moment.
As the group continued to celebrate the news of Sirius's upcoming trial, Harry suddenly remembered someone who needed to be informed about the development - Nymphadora Tonks, or Tonks as she preferred to be called. Harry had written to her once before, when they had no evidence to prove Sirius's innocence, and he thought it was only right to personally inform her about the new development.
"I think I'll write to Tonks," Harry said to the others, getting up from the bench.
Ron looked up at him. "Why? She'll probably read about it in the newspaper anyway."
Harry nodded. "I know, but she's my cousin too, since Sirius is my godfather. I think she deserves to hear it from me personally."
Hermione smiled. "That's really thoughtful of you, Harry."
Harry smiled back and headed to his dormitory to write the letter.
In an unused classroom, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Draco gathered to meet Fred and George. The atmosphere was electric with excitement, and the air was thick with anticipation. Draco, who had become one of Harry's closest friends over the past four months, was finally being initiated into the New Marauders group.
"We've been thinking," Fred said, a mischievous glint in his eye. "It's time we made it official. Draco, welcome to the New Marauders!"
George grinned. "Yeah, we've been waiting for the perfect moment to initiate you, and what better day than tomorrow - April Fools' Day, and our birthday too!"
The group erupted into cheers and laughter, and Draco smiled, looking relieved and happy. "Thanks, guys," he said. "I'm honored to be a part of this group."
Harry was over the moon with excitement. Everything was going right for him - Sirius was getting a trial, his friends were all together, and now the New Marauders group was complete. He couldn't wait to see what the next day would bring.
"Okay, so let's get planning," Fred said, rubbing his hands together. "We need to come up with the ultimate prank to play on the whole school tomorrow."
The group began brainstorming, throwing around ideas and laughing together. Harry felt a sense of belonging and happiness that he hadn't felt in a long time. Tomorrow was going to be an amazing day.
The next day, the Great Hall was filled with the usual chatter and clinking of silverware as the students and teachers sat down to breakfast. But little did they know, the New Marauders had been hard at work, brewing a special potion that would transform everyone's clothes and appearance.
As the students and teachers took a sip from their goblets, they suddenly felt a strange sensation wash over them. And then, to their utter shock and amazement, their clothes began to change.
The Hufflepuff students' robes transformed into colorful costumes, and they found themselves dressed as the Seven Dwarves from Snow White. There was Doc, Sleepy, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy, Dopey, and Grumpy, all complete with tiny hats and beards.
The Ravenclaw students, on the other hand, were now dressed as swashbuckling pirates from Peter Pan. They sported eye patches, bandanas, and pirate hats, and looked like they were ready to set sail on the high seas.
The Slytherin students had transformed into characters from Aladdin. There were Aladdins, Jasmines, and even a few Jafars, all complete with elaborate costumes and accessories.
The Gryffindor students, including Draco, who sat at the Gryffindor table with his best friends, had transformed into elves from The Lord of the Rings. They wore pointy ears, carried bows and arrows, and looked like they were ready to join the Fellowship of the Ring.
The professors were not immune to the transformation either. Professor Sprout, the Herbology teacher, was dressed as the wicked witch from Cinderella, complete with a black hat and a broomstick.
Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher, had transformed into a hobbit, complete with a furry feet and a love of second breakfasts.
Professor Dumbledore, the Headmaster, was dressed as Gandalf, complete with a long white beard and a pointed hat.
Professor Snape, the Potions teacher, had transformed into Sauron, the dark lord from The Lord of the Rings. He looked menacing and evil, and his eyes seemed to bore into the souls of those around him.
Professor McGonagall, the Transfiguration teacher, was dressed as Galadriel, the elf queen from The Lord of the Rings. She looked regal and beautiful, with a crown of stars on her head.
The New Marauders, who had also drunk the potion to keep their identities a secret, watched with glee as the chaos unfolded around them. They had pulled off the ultimate prank, and no one suspected a thing.
As the students and teachers continued to marvel at their new costumes, a burst of colorful fireworks exploded in the air, filling the Great Hall with a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns. The students and teachers erupted into laughter and cheers, enjoying the playful surprise.
Just then, a large poster appeared on the wall, bearing a bold message in bright red letters: "Happy April Fools' Day from the New Marauders!" The students and teachers cheered and clapped, impressed by the clever prank.
As the day went on, the students and teachers had to attend classes in their ridiculous costumes. Professor McGonagall, still dressed as Galadriel, taught Transfiguration with a straight face, while Professor Snape, as Sauron, glared at his students with an air of malevolence.
Despite the initial shock, everyone soon got into the spirit of things, laughing and joking as they went about their day. Even the normally stern professors couldn't help but crack a smile as they taught their classes.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the last class of the day, the students and teachers looked at each other in anticipation. And then, in an instant, their costumes transformed back into their normal clothes. The students and teachers cheered and applauded, grateful for the fun and excitement of the
Two days had passed since the April Fools' prank, and the day of Sirius's trial had finally arrived. Harry woke up from a restless sleep, his mind filled with anxiety and worry. Ginny, who was waiting for him in his dreamland, had tried to reassure him, but Harry couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.
"Everything will be okay, Harry," Ginny had said, her voice soft and soothing. "We've got all the evidence we need to prove Sirius's innocence."
But despite Ginny's reassurances, Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Today was the day that would decide Sirius's fate, and Harry was determined to do everything in his power to ensure that justice was served.
It was planned that Harry would be present at the trial as a witness, and he was both nervous and excited at the prospect. Meanwhile, his friends Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Draco would remain at Hogwarts, anxiously waiting for news of the trial's outcome.
At the Headmaster's Office, Snape was speaking with Dumbledore, his voice low and serious. "While you are away at the trial, Headmaster, I will keep guard over the Sorcerer's Stone," he said.
Dumbledore nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I appreciate your diligence, Severus. We have reason to believe that Quirrell may attempt to steal the Stone, but so far, we have no concrete evidence."
Snape's expression turned even more sour. "I will not let my guard down, Headmaster. I will do everything in my power to protect the Stone and prevent Quirrell from carrying out his nefarious plans."
Quirrell's office was dimly lit, the only sound the soft whisper of Voldemort's voice as he spoke to Quirrell. The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher stood nervously, his eyes darting around the room as he spoke.
"Yes, my Lord, it's the perfect plan," Quirrell said, his voice trembling with excitement. "While Dumbledore is away at the trial, I'll sneak into Hogwarts and steal the Philosopher's Stone."
Voldemort's voice was like a cold, dark wind. "I am not impressed, Quirrell. This plan had better work, or you will suffer the consequences."
Quirrell swallowed hard, his eyes darting nervously around the room. "Y-yes, of course, my Lord. I will not fail. And I have a plan to ensure that we have an ally within Hogwarts itself."
Voldemort's interest was piqued. "Go on."
Quirrell smiled, a sly, cunning glint in his eye. "Snape suspects us, but if we tell him that I am working for the Dark Lord, he will happily help us. After all, he was a Death Eater before your fall 10 years ago."
Voldemort's response was laced with skepticism. "I am not so sure, Quirrell. Snape's loyalties are not so easily bought. I will need to speak with him myself, to gauge his true intentions. But that will have to wait until I have regained my physical form."
Quirrell nodded, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of fear and anticipation. "Yes, my Lord. I will await your further instructions."
Harry bid farewell to his friends Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Draco as he made his way to Dumbledore's office. Hermione gave him a warm, sisterly hug and whispered, "Everything will be okay, Harry. Just be strong."
Harry smiled weakly and continued on his way. He arrived at the secret garden, where Professor McGonagall was waiting for him. She was standing next to a large dog, who was Padfoot in disguise. McGonagall was using a disillusionment charm on the dog, making him almost invisible.
"Watch closely, Harry," McGonagall said, her eyes twinkling with magic. "This charm will make Padfoot almost like a chameleon. He'll blend into his surroundings perfectly."
As McGonagall spoke, the charm took effect, and Padfoot began to fade into the background. His fur changed color to match the surrounding foliage, and he became almost imperceptible.
McGonagall, Harry, and the disillusioned Padfoot then made their way to a nearby clearing, where Dumbledore and Moony were waiting for them. McGonagall lifted the charm, and Padfoot transformed back into Sirius, who stood tall and proud, his eyes shining with a mixture of emotions.
The atmosphere was tense, as they all waited for Amelia Bones to arrive. Harry couldn't help but think about the conversation he had with Moony a few days ago, when Moony had revealed that Amelia had loved Sirius, but Sirius had never returned her affections. Harry wondered why Moony had kept this secret, and what would happen when Amelia and Sirius met again for the first time since his escape from Azkaban.
"Did Sirius ever know that Amelia loved him?" Harry wondered to himself. He looked over at Sirius, who was standing calmly, his eyes fixed on some point in the distance. Harry couldn't read his expression, but he knew that the next few minutes would be crucial in determining the outcome of the trial.
The trial room was filled with esteemed members of the wizarding community, all gathered to witness the trial of Sirius Orion Black. The Wizengamot members, led by Supreme Head Dumbledore, were seated at the front of the room. Amelia Bones, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, stood beside Dumbledore, her eyes fixed intently on the proceedings.
Alongside them were Minister Cornelius Fudge, Senior Undersecretary Dolores Umbridge, Head Auror Rufus Scrimgeour, and other notable Wizengamot members, including Bartemius Crouch Sr., Lucius Malfoy, and Augusta Longbottom.
Amelia Bones cleared her throat and began to speak. "The Potter will, which clearly states that Sirius Black was not the Secret Keeper, but rather Peter Pettigrew, has been verified by the Minister and myself. This evidence is crucial in determining the fate of Sirius Orion Black. I now pronounce the trial for Sirius Orion Black to begin."
Sirius was then escorted into the room by Aurors Kingsley Shackerbolt, Alastor Moody, and his trainee Auror Nymphadora Tonks. It was a deliberate move by Dumbledore and Amelia to only have aurors they could trust present in the room.
For the sake of formality, Sirius was chained as he took his seat in the middle of the room, his eyes scanning the crowd with a mixture of emotions. The room fell silent, awaiting the commencement of the trial.
The trial of Sirius Orion Black had begun, and the first question was posed by Head Auror Rufus Scrimgeour. "Sirius Black, you have been charged with the betrayal of James and Lily Potter, the murder of Peter Pettigrew and 12 Muggles, and serving as the right-hand man of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named during his reign of terror 10 years ago. How do you plead?"
Sirius stood tall, his voice firm and resolute. "Not guilty."
The Wizengamot members nodded, accepting that at least Sirius was not the Secret Keeper, as the Potter will clearly stated. However, the atmosphere in the room remained tense, with the weight of the other charges still hanging over Sirius.
Among the Wizengamot members, Lucius Malfoy's face was twisted in rage, although he carefully concealed his emotions. He knew Sirius was innocent, but if he were to be acquitted, the entire Black inheritance would be returned to Sirius, which would be a devastating blow to Lucius's own family. Currently, the inheritance was in the possession of Lucius's wife, Narcissa Malfoy née Black.
The trial continued, with Minister Cornelius Fudge asking Sirius a pointed question. "Did you kill Peter Pettigrew?" he asked, his voice stern.
Sirius shook his head firmly. "No, I did not kill Peter. He's alive. He faked his own death."
The room erupted into a mixture of shock and gasps, with many of the Wizengamot members looking stunned. However, Dumbledore and Amelia Bones remained calm, their expressions indicating that they had already been aware of this revelation.
Amelia Bones spoke up, her voice firm and authoritative. "In light of this new information, I propose that we take back the Order of Merlin, First Class, that was awarded to Peter Pettigrew. He is neither a hero nor a martyr, but a traitor who betrayed his friends and faked his own death."
Dolores Umbridge, however, countered Amelia's proposal. "But we have no proof that Peter Pettigrew is dead," she said, her voice dripping with skepticism.
Augusta Longbottom, a respected member of the Wizengamot, stood up to counter Umbridge's argument. "Whether Pettigrew is dead or alive is irrelevant," she said, her voice firm. "What matters is that he is a traitor, and he should be stripped of any honors that were bestowed upon him."
Harry sat in the audience seat, watching the trial with Professor McGonagall and Remus Lupin. Things were not going as smoothly as planned, and Harry's frustration was growing by the minute. He had already started to dislike Dolores Umbridge, who seemed to be opposing every statement made by Sirius.
Sirius, however, remained calm and composed as he continued to explain his side of the story. "Ten years ago, I asked James to change the Secret Keeper to Peter, as it was obvious to everyone that James and I were close. We thought that if Voldemort suspected me, the Potters would be safe."
Harry rolled his eyes as most of the Wizengamot members flinched at the mention of Voldemort's name. Sirius continued, his voice filled with emotion. "But Peter turned out to be a traitor, and he betrayed the Potters. When I reached the cottage, it was too late. James and Lily were dead, and Harry, my godson, was left alone, crying."
Sirius's eyes locked onto Harry's, filled with a deep sadness. "If I was with Voldemort, I would have killed Harry on the spot, but I didn't, because I am innocent."
Lucius Malfoy opposed Sirius's statement, his voice dripping with malice. "Sirius must have simply not had the opportunity to kill Harry."
Dumbledore intervened, his voice calm and authoritative. "There is a witness who can attest to Sirius's innocence. Hagrid was with Sirius on the night of the Potters' death."
However, Dolores Umbridge quickly countered, her voice shrill. "We cannot accept Hagrid as a witness. He has a criminal record, after all."
Harry's frustration reached a boiling point. He couldn't believe that the Wizengamot was being so unfair.
A vote was taken, and Dolores, Lucius, Avery, Crabbe, Goyle, Nott, and Yaxley outvoted the others. Hagrid's testimony was deemed inadmissible.
The trial continued, with Sirius Black determined to tell his side of the story. "After I gave Harry to Hagrid, I followed Peter Pettigrew," Sirius explained. "But on the street, Peter killed 12 Muggles, faked his own death, and shouted that I had betrayed the Potters."
Vincent Crabbe, one of the Wizengamot members, opposed Sirius's statement. "Hagrid is a half-giant, how could you have killed him?" he sneered.
However, Dumbledore intervened, his voice calm and authoritative. "There is no proof that Hagrid is a half-giant," he said, effectively shutting down Crabbe's argument.
Sirius continued his testimony, explaining how Peter had framed him for the Potters' murder. Dolores Umbridge opposed him, saying, "Both Sirius and Peter must have been traitors." However, even Minister Fudge waved off her ridiculous suggestion.
Sirius then gave his testimony under the influence of Veritaserum, a truth serum that ensured he was telling the truth. Next, Harry took the stand, his voice shaking slightly as he spoke. "I met Sirius Black, and he had plenty of opportunities to kill me, but instead, he saved my life when I fell into the Forbidden Forest."
Remus Lupin also gave his testimony, but Dolores Umbridge quickly denied his words, saying, "We can't believe a werewolf." Harry's frustration reached a boiling point, and he was convinced that he hated Dolores Umbridge more than ever.
The voting was taken, and reluctantly, most of the Wizengamot members had to vote in favor of Sirius. However, many suggested that Sirius's claims could not be guaranteed until they caught Peter Pettigrew, if he was indeed alive. This proposal was met with agreement from many, causing Harry to groan in frustration. Amelia Bones was outraged but kept her silence.
Amelia then raised a crucial point. "Why did Bartemius Crouch Sr. not give Sirius a trial 10 years ago?" she asked, her voice firm.
Bartemius Crouch Sr. shifted uncomfortably in his seat, but the fact that he had put his own son, Barty Crouch Jr., in Azkaban during the same time saved him from further scrutiny.
Dolores Umbridge then proposed that until Peter Pettigrew was found, which she believed was impossible since she was convinced he was dead, Sirius must be imprisoned in Azkaban once again. Sirius paled at the suggestion, while Harry's face turned red with anger. Lucius Malfoy and his supporters seconded the proposal.
However, Augusta Longbottom countered, saying, "That would be wrong. Sirius, who was already imprisoned for 10 years, has just proven his innocence for one of his crimes. He has already been given injustice before."
Amelia Bones then performed a simple test, revealing Sirius's arms to show that there was no Dark Mark. "This proves another charge wrong, that he was a Death Eater," Amelia said. "That leaves only the murder of 13 people, including Peter Pettigrew, but that is likely to be wrong too."
Augusta then proposed an alternative. "I think Sirius should be put under house arrest for the time being, not sent back to Azkaban."
"I agree," Amelia said, her voice firm. "House arrest is a more suitable punishment, considering the circumstances."
Harry was not happy with this decision, but at least it was something. Many of the Wizengamot members reluctantly agreed to this proposal, and the decision was made. Sirius would be placed under house arrest, pending further investigation.
The trial continued, with Lucius Malfoy countering Amelia's proposal. "The Black inheritance currently belongs to my wife, Narcissa," he said, his voice smooth. "As Sirius is not yet freed of all charges, he cannot be declared Lord Black. Therefore, he does not have a house to be arrested in. And I would rather not have a supposed criminal in any of my wife's properties."
Amelia Bones proposed an alternative. "I will keep Sirius in my house, Bones estate, under house arrest," she said, her eyes locked on Sirius.
Sirius looked at her, and for a moment, Amelia's heart fluttered. She had loved Sirius for a long time, but he had never returned her affections. Still, she couldn't help but feel a spark of hope.
Amelia continued, her voice firm. "To ensure that Sirius does not escape, I order the Head Auror to appoint Aurors Shackerbolt and Moody, along with his trainee Nymphadora Tonks, to guard him at my estate."
Finally, the decision was made. Minister Fudge ended the trial with a statement. "Sirius Black is declared free from the following charges: betraying the Potters and being a Death Eater. However, the charges of killing 12 Muggles and Peter Pettigrew are still pending, pending further investigation."
Sirius would be under house arrest in Bones estate, guarded by Aurors Shackerbolt, Moody, and Tonks. He would not be allowed to communicate with the outside world until necessary. And with that, the trial came to an end.
Harry was frustrated and felt helpless. He couldn't believe that Sirius was now under house arrest, and he wouldn't be able to meet him freely. "What if Peter is never caught?" Harry thought to himself, feeling a surge of anger and desperation.
For the first time in his life, Harry swore, his frustration boiling over. However, his outburst was quickly met with a stern reprimand from Professor McGonagall, who was standing nearby. "Harry, that's not like you," she said, her voice firm but gentle.
Moony, who was also present, looked at Harry with concern, but he comforted him with a warm smile. "It's okay, Harry. We'll get through this," he said.
Before Sirius was taken away by Aurors Shackerbolt, Moody, and Tonks, Harry met him briefly. He hugged Sirius publicly, holding him tightly for a moment before letting go.
As Harry watched Sirius being led away, he met Tonks, who was standing nearby. Tonks was a Metamorphmagus, and she explained to Harry that she had the ability to change her appearance at will. She demonstrated her powers by changing the color of her hair and the shape of her nose.
"Don't worry, Harry," Tonks said, smiling warmly at him. "Sirius is my cousin, and I'll make sure he's okay. He'll be free one day, I'm sure of it."
Tonks then whispered to Harry, "Sirius isn't allowed to communicate with anyone, but I can deliver messages from him to you, if you'd like." She winked at Harry, and he felt a surge of hope. Maybe, just maybe, things would work out after all.
The Daily Prophet, a prominent wizarding newspaper, published an article revealing the outcome of Sirius Black's trial. The headline read: "Sirius Black Trial: Public Statement Revealed."
"Details of the trial are confidential, but a public statement has been released," the article stated. "Sirius Black has been cleared of the charges of betraying James and Lily Potter and being a Death Eater. However, the charges of murdering Peter Pettigrew and 12 Muggles are still pending."
The article went on to reveal that Peter Pettigrew had been declared a traitor and his Order of Merlin had been revoked. "Sirius Black has claimed that Peter Pettigrew faked his own death, killed 12 Muggles, and is still alive," the article stated.
Finally, the article revealed that Sirius Black was now under house arrest at the Bones estate, the residence of Amelia Bones, the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. "Sirius Black will remain under house arrest until further investigation is conducted," the article concluded.
