AN: I do not own Harry Potter.
Family Is Complicated
Dear Dark-Haired Brother,
I am doing well. I have had to use my silencing rune twice in the last two weeks on my desk. Once was because I didn't want to be overheard, the other was because another clerk was having a very loud discussion at their desk and it was bothering me. Normally, that isn't an issue in my office, as most people in my office don't like having it loud here either.
I have heard that you are no longer part of the Order of the Phoenix. I am honestly not surprised. Things were past my line drawn on where I should be, and was wondering how much further it was to yours. I am glad that you aren't returning to the Dursleys this summer, and am sure that Sirius is as happy as the dog he turns into when he has you around.
I have heard that you are also a Dark Lord, swayed by Malfoy and others Or that you have taken on some of You-Know-Who's men to keep them from You-Know-Who? I've gotten some wildly different stories here from others in this family. Are Mom and Dad right or Ron and Fred and George?
I'll keep it quiet, but was wanting what you thought.
I hope you have a good week.
Sincerely,
Percy W.

Dear Scholarly Brother,
What is a Dark Lord? I'm finding vastly different views on that here. I could say for certain that a Dark Lord must advocate and use the Dark Arts, but what really is the connection? Do they try to do everything with the Dark Arts or are they merely against the Ministry, which the Ministry instantly labels?
Another question, what is the process to report superiors?
I am glad that your work place is good for you. I remember what problems you used to have studying at Hogwarts, or just with the usual noise level. I remember finding you almost constantly either in your dorm or in a corner with a silencing shield up, unless you came out to talk to us.
As for your parents, they're both on my side and against me, which is confusing. I mean, they left the Order over me, yet say I'm a danger to society for being the one given the vows of a few of You-Know-Who's servants? I'm used to people being obvious, like defense teachers are negative and McGonigal doesn't interfere.
At least, those I am close to am sticking with me.
Sincerely,
Harry B.

Dear Dark-Haired Brother,
I hope that the opinions of those around you are not getting you too down. I remember learning about what the school thought about you in my fifth year and thought that they were crazy. However, I also remember having to apologize to you later because my little bit of influence was not sent much in your behalf and my way of wording things may not have helped. "I think that he isn't a Dark Lord, but that with how people are treating him, maybe should not do it in public as much as possible" or "I can't say what he said" while honest to my point of view then were not helping you much with the way that the school gossips.
As for Dark Lord, I would say stick to your intuition and whatever you find in older books on that one. The recent books are screened by the Ministry before printing. With all the spells that the Ministry has banned because they "dangerous", even DMLE secondary superior Madam Bones could be called a Dark Lady. Yes, she is allowed a few of those spells because of her job, but she is very against the Minister even if they aren't fighting in the streets, and she has people who are very loyal to her. The main difference between her and You-Know-Who is method and morals and that the Wizengamot is backing her, however reluctantly.
As for my parents, people are complicated. Fighting children is against their rules, but driving them away by constant nagging isn't. You have to stand up for yourself, and leave. As for you, you do have another home with Sirius so leaving is going to be more on there part. However, that doesn't mean that they won't try to get along for holidays. I think a major part of it is that they are viewing the vague Dark Lord not You-Know-Who with the same glass as those that bound themselves to him.
As for me, I'll visit you at your godfather's place.
Sincerely,
Percy W.
.
Dear Scholarly Brother,
Did you catch my last initial last time? I've gotten my godfather's permission to use his.
Who do you go to if you have trouble within the Wizengamot or Ministry? Are they different people?
I am getting lessons in all the things that I am supposed to know, with having a seat waiting for me once I turn twenty. I think another part of it is knowing what my allies are doing and setting up politically, since I'm in that sphere now. Do you know how awkward that is? One of the Order that split with me said that there are now two Orders and two Dark Lords. I found that hilarious; you know why.
I'm glad to know that I'm not losing my brother with my parents. As for Sirius, he's as happy about having me with him as a golden retriever, not his form. Sometimes I think that's where most of his seriousness went, but then I remember that his form is a representation of who he is; he's hiding a lot of who he is. However, when in lessons, he shows that side of himself. It startled me the first time I saw it, since he's rarely that.
Sincerely,
Harry B.

Dear Dark-Haired Brother,
I am glad that your living family has allowed you to take their name.
As for your questions, as normal they are rather thought provoking. If it is a legal matter, usually the statement is to go to the DMLE if it is a criminal offense. That or sue each other or blackmail each other. You wouldn't believe how much blackmail this building holds. However, if high enough a criminal, the DMLE needs backing either from the Minister, a Party leader, or Chief Warlock. However, the backing has to be from a party higher than the criminal. If the criminal is the Chief Warlock, then one has to go to the ICW, where you have to get a majority backing if it is against the Supreme Mugwump. In this set up, the current Supreme Mugwump is also a part leader in our country and the Chief Warlock, as well as the Headmaster of the school. I'd say in this case, build lots of connections and watch your popularity. For all that he was a fraud, Gilderoy Lockhart had some good lessons when it came to keeping himself famous. "Famous is as famous does" means that fame will not allow one everything, though it does open doors that one wouldn't have otherwise, even if Lockhart was trying to get fame to do everything. How you get fame is important, because you have to be able to continue as an individual as your popularity goes up and down. For that, you need quality and endurance, and little brother, despite how far behind you are, you have shown yourself to have that. Don't start leaning on others for your happiness, even as you lean equally on each other to get things done. As much as you will hate it, learning what is supposed to happen on the Wizengamot floor and other actions that having a seat means will be important.
Isn't your godfather the goofiest omen of death ever?
Of course, you still have me as a brother. Even when I have my mail delayed.
Sincerely,
Percy W.
"No, I don't want him here. He's nothing but a nuisance, for all I have him do the majority of work around here. He's a burden and a freak."
"He is living with his godfather currently."
"Good."
Ms. Jones walked into the house after knocking on the door.
"Hello?"
The call had the smallest pair of feet run down the stairs into the entrance.
"Oh. Hello, Ms. Jones. Why are you here?"
"Hi, Mr. Potter. Oh, is your godfather here?"
"Yes, he's just setting up a prank to near Remus' room."
"Go call him down, please?"
"Sure."
Harry took off.
"Don't run on the stairs."
A short minute later, two pairs of feet were heard coming down an upstairs hall. Soon after that, she could see both Mr. Sirius Black and Mr. Harry Potter on the stairs.
"Hello, Camille. What's up?"
"You know how Harry has been living with his muggle relatives?"
"Yes" came the bored answer.
"Well, legally they arranged for his paperwork in the muggle world, so that means that he has to spend time visible to those in the muggle world so the government doesn't go after him for disappearing under age. I moved to the Muggle world and have a muggle job; that means I needed the same kinds of paperwork. I already got the Dursleys to sign the paperwork. I just need to show up at the office with Harry to drop them off. So the question is how do you want to do this? Do I come and live with you guys for part of the summer, or should Harry come live with me, and would it just be him coming? Other things to know, I do have a squib boyfriend."
There was a loud discussion, with all sides disagreeing at some point, but they came to a conclusion before supper. Harry, in one week, would meet up with Hermione (who was communicated with via telephone), and the two of them would stay for a couple of weeks. Rooms were sorted for each of them, there was a short itinerary planned for a a couple days, what things were to be expected, and rules of the new household were explained.
