"Sparks Fly"

Jade and Tori discuss their 4rth of July plans. Jade isn't sure she wants to go see fireworks, but Tori really wants to go.

AN: Hello all, Happy 4rth of July! I'm back to work for the month of July, but at least I have the month of August off. I'd also like to wish Liz Gillies a happy early birthday, as she celebrates later this month. I hope you all have a great celebration with your families, and that you enjoy this chapter.

The summer season is in full swing for the Hollywood Arts gang as they have officially graduated. They are all determined to have some fun in the midst of preparing for college next year. In addition to getting ready for school, Tori and Jade have been working on wedding preparations. So far a lot of the simple stuff was done. They picked out their flowers, they've decided what food will be served at the wedding, and they have a cake tasting appointment for next week, which both girls are looking forward to. This holiday weekend they are taking a much needed break from wedding plans, and are going to enjoy some time with their family.

Jade and Tori are currently sitting on Jade's front porch, watching Russell hang some red, white, and blue bunting along the deck railing. Russell is of course excited for another barbecue, and the ladies discuss what their other plans are.

"So is your family planning to go to the fireworks after the barbecue?" Tori asked.

"Uhm, I think my mom and Russell are taking the kids."

"We should go with them. I love 4rth of July fireworks."

"Yeah, they are nice, and I bet they're just as nice on TV." Jade said.

"Oh, come on. You can't watch 4rth of July fireworks on TV. It's tradition to go see them in person." Tori argued.

"Exactly, and everyone is going to be there, it's too crowded, and it'll take forever to get back home."

"But they aren't that far from your house, and my family is going, too. We could all meet up; it'll be fun." Tori said.

Jade sighed. "I don't know, babe. I really don't want to."

Tori snuggled closer to Jade, hooking her arm, and nuzzling into her neck.

"Please, I really want to do this with you."

Jade closes her eyes, exhaling heavily out of her nose. She turns to Tori with a smile, and kisses the top of her head.

"Okay, but only for you."

"Yeay!" Tori cheers, kissing her cheek. "Thanks Baby, I promise it'll be fun."

Jade would only do this for Tori, much like a lot of things she would only do for Tori. Somehow she could be talked into anything just by Tori nuzzling into her. It reminded Jade of the time they were auditioning ladies for a fake play to try and find Sikowitz a new girlfriend. She even explained to Cat that she was doing this because it was Tori's idea. Anything Jade could do to make Tori smile was well worth it, even if it meant braving the crowds just to watch colorful sparks fly through the air.

Later in the day, Jade's family was having their barbecue, and admittedly Jade enjoyed when Russell would grill food for everyone. He did make really good vegetable kabobs, and everyone always complimented his hamburgers. The family has finished their first helping of food, and while the younger kids were having seconds, Tori and Jade were sitting on the porch swing, holding hands, and thinking about the next couple of months.

"I can't believe it's only another month until we get married." Tori said.

"Yeah, honestly all of the planning has been overwhelming. I can't wait till it's over."

Tori squeezed her fiance's hand tight, and kissed her knuckles. She turned toward Jade with a serious face that had her concerned.

"Jade, can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Are you starting to think that things are moving too fast?"

Now it was Jade's turn to sit up, and look at Tori.

"What? No, why do you?"

"No, that's not it. I just…I know we're only just finishing highschool, and we're still young, but I know that you're the only one I want to be with forever…" Tori sighs. "...but we can wait a little longer if you want to."

Jade turns to fully face Tori, taking her shoulders to make sure she is listening.

"Tori, look at me. I love you more than anything in this world, and nothing would make me happier than to be your wife." Jade said, and Tori smiled. "I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear before. I didn't mean that the thought of getting married was overwhelming, just all of the details we've had to worry about."

"I know what you mean." Tori said, with a sigh of relief. "I'll be happy when all of the little stuff is out of the way, and the day finally comes."

"Me too." Jade told her, with a kiss.

Jade pulled Tori close to her chest, kissing her temple as they continued to swing back and forth. In a matter of days, they would have to get back to planning their big day, meeting with the wedding planner, and giving her their final guest list. For right now they could sit together with a sense of calm that they only felt when they were alone.

Finally it was dark, and time to head out for the fireworks. Even though it took a while to find a parking spot, once they got amongst the crowd, things weren't so bad. The family was able to find a spot where they'd have the perfect view as they all set up their chairs. Holly stood with Trina while she talked to Irene about the upcoming wedding. Both moms held hands throughout their conversation imagining what it would be like to see their girls walk down the aisle, getting ready to join their lives together. Soon Holly saw Tori and Jade, calling out to them and waving as she greeted both girls with a hug. Tori and Jade opened up their chairs, and laid a blanket over them when they saw Cat and Robbie coming up to them.

"Hey guys!" Cat called out, giving her friends a hug.

They all share hugs, congratulating the couple on their engagement once more, and telling them they couldn't wait for the day to arrive. Cat said how excited she was to wear her bridesmaids dress, and how she's been preparing her maid of honor speech. Robbie assured Tori and Jade that the guys all had their tuxedos, and that everything fit properly. This was all great to hear of course, but the one thing Tori and Jade were thinking about the most was the moment they got to say their vows. Both ladies were still figuring out exactly what they wanted to say, but it would be a moment where they would be able to proclaim their love for one another to their friends and family. The gang have been through so much together, having good memories throughout their highschool years, and now Tori and Jade are the first of them to get married. It would be the first step into the next chapter of their lives, and everyone, especially Tori and Jade were very excited.

Soon a guy selling glow sticks walked by, and Cat excitedly waved him over.

"Hey, over here!" Cat called out, waving a few dollars at him, buying a couple glow stick necklaces.

Tori also bought a couple of necklaces and bracelets. She cracked open a purple glow stick bracelet, put it together, and handed it to Jade.

"For you."

"Why, thank you." Jade smiles, slipping it on.

It is almost time for the fireworks to start, and Tori and Jade joined the rest of their family. Both of them sat pulling the blanket over their laps, and nuzzled together. Tori leaned over whispering to Jade.

"How are we doing so far?" Tori asked.

"Good, I'm glad we did this."

"I am too." Tori said, kissing her cheek.

Jade turned to Tori, pressing a kiss to her lips just as the first of the fireworks were set off. Everybody, including Tori and Jade are fixated on the fireworks display, and even though it was dark, Tori could see the smile on Jade's face. They continued to hold each other tighter while everyone watched the fireworks, while taking pictures. Jade relaxed into Tori, holding her tight, and kissed the top of her head. This has been the best experience Jade has ever had doing something Tori has talked her into. She would have to let her future wife talk her into things more often.

Soon the fireworks were over, and the family walked back to the car, with Tori and Jade walking arm and arm. They got into the back of Jade's parent's car, still looking out the window at other nearby firework displays. Jade was feeling a little sleepy now that she has settled down in the car, but she was still feeling amazing after the night she and Tori shared together. Soon they would be joining their families together, and they couldn't wait.
