RAW is WAR: 5/7/1998

RAW is WAR was live at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fireworks scream and explode at the entrance ramp as RAW opens and goes live. Last week, Stone Cold revealed he had booked a Championship match between himself and whoever was WWF Champion following King of the Ring, and since the Undertaker was the new Champion, that meant Stone Cold had to face the Deadman.

It was a match that Austin won to become the WWF Champion again.

However, on Sunday Night HEAT, just last night, the Undertaker vowed revenge and challenged Austin to a First Blood match at Fully Loaded with the WWF Title on the line.

In the arena, the sound of shattered glass hits and the new WWF Champion walks out among a roaring crowd. The Texas Rattlesnake steps on all 4 turnbuckles and raises his arms over his head before stepping down and asking for a microphone. The fans were anxious to hear what Austin's response will be to the Undertaker's challenge to a First Blood Match for the WWF Championship at Fully Loaded.

The WWF Champion said into the microphone, "If you saw Stone Cold Steve Austin beat the Undertaker's ass last week, give me a Hell Yeah!"

"HELL YEAH!" The fans shouted those immortal words.

"That wasn't a pretty sight but I damn sure got the job done. On a personal note, I would like to say to Vince McMahon. You say you spent the last four months of your life with a master plan trying to get this belt away from Stone Cold Steve Austin and on one Monday night, Stone Cold Steve Austin crumpled up those plans and shoved them up your ass. As far as the Undertaker goes coming out here, laying these challenges to Stone Cold Steve Austin's deadlines. Son, I ain't that hard to find. As far as your First Blood Match goes, I do accept at Fully Loaded. I tell you this. Last time I was in a First Blood Match with Kane, you came down, busted me wide open and cost me the World Wrestling Federation Championship. So I will say to you paybacks are a bitch and that's all I got to say about that! Because I'm a man of my word, I will give the Bladewolf the championship rematch he deserves! So Bladewolf, bring your ass out here and let's get this over with!"

The crowd cheered as Austin looked ready for a fight. However, instead of the Bladewolf, Vince McMahon came out onto the stage to boos from the crowd.

Oh no, that's not all you got to say about that. No!" Vince said. "Because I got something to say about that! You see, Austin..."

"Asshole! Asshole! Asshole!" The crowd chanted at the owner.

It was Austin's turned to cut the WWF Chairman off, "Hold on, I tell you right now you got to talk a hell of a lot louder because my hearing's ain't so good and you got 15,000 people calling you an asshole."

The Chairman resumed, "I've come to the conclusion that the World Wrestling Federation, quite frankly, is just not big enough for the both of us. Austin, somebody's gotta go and go for good! And that somebody is either you or me. You see Austin, I got a challenge for you. And that challenge is this. So confident am I that the Undertaker is gonna leave you a bloody mess in the ring at Fully Loaded and walk from the ring as the WWF Champion that I'm willing to put in writing..." He nodded at the "Austin" chants, "Yeah, cheer him all you want. I am willing to put in writing, Austin and listen up. I don't even care if your attorneys draw up the contract! I'm willing to put in writing that I will never again directly or indirectly interfere, compromise or any way have anything to do with you here in the World Wrestling Federation ever again. Are you interested?"

A side grin formed on Austin's face, "You damn right!"

Vince offered, "Then all you gotta do is agree and by the way I won't accept your word for it any more you accept mine and I want it in writing. All you gotta do, Austin is agree that if or should I say when the Undertaker defeats you that you will never ask for a rematch. And that goes for the Bladewolf as well. I despise the thought of him holding that title as much as I despise you! Matter of fact, you will never again in your or Bladewolf's professional careers even attempt to become the WWF Champion again. Never! I'm willing, Austin. I'm willing to take a risk. And why am I willing to take this kind of risk? Quite frankly, I don't think it's much of a risk but I'll tell you why. Because if you agree, Austin the reason is this. The thought of you or the Bladewolf representing the World Wrestling Federation as the WWF Champion makes me wrench with emotional trauma. The thought of you Austin or Bladewolf with that WWF title in the ring, the sight of it makes me physically ill. Makes me want to vomit! That's why I'm willing to take that risk. But I tell you this. If you decide to accept the challenge, Austin, if you decide to accept then think about it. This, one way or another, will be the end of an era. And Austin if you are somehow victorious, neither you nor any of these people will ever see Vince McMahon again."

The fans cheer at the thought of not seeing the egotistical moron ever again.

Steve Austin asked, "So you're saying that I get my own attorneys to draw up the paper work so I gotta worry about trusting your sorry ass, is that correct?"

Vince nodded, "That's correct."

Austin said, "If you don't wanna see Vince McMahon no more, give me a 'Hell Yeah!'" The fans scream those words and Austin looked at his nemesis, "Vince, I'll accept your little challenge but it won't be the end of an era, it'll be just the end of you and that's the bottom line because Stone Cold said so!"

Tossing the microphone away, the WWF Champion gestures for a couple of beers.

The firstmatch of the night was The Brothers of Destruction vs The Hardy Boyz for the WWF tag Team Championship. Last night on HEAT, the Hardys took on the destructive brothers but the Acolytes interfered, to which Bladewolf and Kane made them pay for it.

In the arena, the Hardy Boyz' music plays and out they come with Michael Hayes escorting them to the ring. Tony Chimel said, "The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the World Wrestling Federation Tag-Team Championship. In the ring, accompanied by Michael Hayes, from Cameron, North Carolina, at a combined weight of 461 pounds, Jeff and Matt Hardy, the Hardy Boyz!"

As soon as they enter the ring, the lights go out followed by Kane's music playing.

OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!

Fire explodes on the stage as Kane's theme is replaced by The Devil's Wolf, the lights dimming to the sinister blood red and dark blue as the Bladewolf and Kane walk out together and start making their way towards the ring. Kane had his Tag Team title over his shoulder, while Bladewolf had his around his waist.

"And their opponents, at a combined weight of 636 lbs, they are the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions, the Brothers of Destruction... KANE & THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced before leaving the ring.

Kane and the Bladewolf reach the end of the ramp and climb onto the ring apron together. They step over the top rope and Bladewolf removes his coat and metallic mask, revealing the wolf one underneath, while Kane walks to the center of the ring and begins raising his arms. He throws them down, causing fire to spew from the turnbuckles as the lights return to normal.

They hand their Tag Team Championship belts to referee Tim White and he holds them up, letting the fans know that's what this match is about. Then he hands them to a stagehand at ringside. He signals for the match to start.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Bladewolf battles Jeff Hardy, throwing heavy right hands that could easily knock his teeth out. He Irish whips him into the ropes and nails the big boot and chains it with a stomp. Kane clotheslines Matt Hardy out of the ring, being the ruthless beast he is Kane sends Matt hard into the steel steps. He stands on the apron after that.

Suddenly he notices something different about his brother. His attacks are sloppy instead of precise and calculating and wasted energy. The stipulation Vince McMahon made for Fully Loaded no doubt threw off his composure and the Hardy Boyz are taking advantage of Bladewolf's current state of mind. Kane realizes he needs to get the tag if they want to stay tag-team champions.

Bladewolf catches Matt Hardy off the top rope and lifts him up for the chokeslam when Jeff Hardy nails the drop kick on him, causing Matt to fall on Bladewolf and hook the leg! ONE! TWO-! Bladewolf kicks out at two.

Realization hits him, Bladewolf needs to bring Kane in and now! However, the Hardy Boyz were making that a challenge because of their aerial onslaught. Jeff Irish whips Bladewolf into the turnbuckle and Matt charges using his brother like a springboard to land a drop kick on Bladewolf before Jeff rams Kane off the apron. He performs a springboard crossbody on him.

Back in the ring Matt Hardy, being the legal man, climbs to the second rope and wraps his arm around Bladewolf's neck then jumps off... AND CONNECTS WITH A TORNADO DDT!

Kane throws Jeff spine first into the steel steps and discovers Matt hooking Bladewolf's leg and slides in to break the count! ONE! TWO! THREE! WE HAVE NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

The Hardy Boyz' theme plays. The winners of this bout and the new World Wrestling Federation Tag-Team Champions, the Hardy Boyz!" Tony Chimel announced.

Michael Hayes joins Jeff and Matt Hardy on the ramp, the new champions holding the WWF Tag-Team Championship.

Bladewolf gets to his feet and leans on the ropes. He looks at Kane, then at the mat. Kane pats his shoulder, and the two leave the ring.

Short match, I know. Brief timeskip because next chapter will be the RAW after Fully Loaded.
