RAW is WAR: 3/5/1999
RAW is WAR was live at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California. Following the opening segment with the newly formed Corporate Ministry who formed on the pilot episode of SmackDown last Thursday, the first match of the show was the Bladewolf vs Billy Gunn.
Last Thursday on SmackDown, the Bladewolf and Kane defended their WWF Tag Team Championship against The New Age Outlaws and retained their titles. However, later that night, Billy Gunn attacked the Bladewolf in the locker room only to be driven off by Kane.
Now a match between them had been made for Monday Night RAW.
In the arena, Billy Gunn was already in the ring, his theme in the midst of dying down as he paced around inside the ring.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf played to a loud cheer from the fans as the lights switched to the sinister blood red and dark blue before the Bladewolf walked out, making his way towards the ring with purpose.
"The following contest is scheduled for one-fall! Making his way to the ring, from Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs, he is one half of the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
Making his way down the ramp, Bladewolf grabs the top rope and pulls himself up onto the ring apron before stepping foot over the top rope. He reaches up and pushes his hood down before taking off his metallic mask, revealing the wolf mask underneath with the eyeholes shrouded in total darkness.
Bladewolf's theme dies down and the lights return to normal as he takes off his coat and dumps it outside the ring for a stagehand to grab. He hands his Tag Team title to the referee who gives it to another stagehand, and then calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Bladewolf watches Billy Gunn circle him until they lock up testing each other out. The first lock up ends in a draw, however the second one followed the Bladewolf's favor when he throws Billy Gunn across the ring like a sack of potatoes.
Picking him up by the hair, Bladewolf Irish whips the blonde-haired man into the turnbuckle so hard that it made Gunn bounce off it before falling to his stomach. He next drops her elbow on the small of his back 10 times before getting to his feet and flipping his hair back to adjust his elbow pads briefly. Looking down at Gunn, Bladewolf delivers a stomp to his back, then wraps his arms around his waist and sends him across the ring with a German Suplex, but Gunn ends up rolling out the ring underneath the bottom rope.
Walking over, Bladewolf steps over the top rope and drops down to the floor, watching as Gunn tried to figure out where he was only for Bladewolf to grab the back of his head and ram it off the steel steps, sending Billy Gunn sprawling to the floor.
Bladewolf grabs Gunn and pulls him up to his feet before lifting him up into a bear hug, then he runs and... DRIVES GUNN SPINE-FIRST INTO THE STEEL RING POST! Backing up a little, Bladewolf then runs... AND DOES IT A SECOND TIME! He backs up and... DOES IT FOR A THIRD TIME! He backs up again and... DOES IT FOR A FOURTH TIME! He drops Gunn and rolls into the ring and out to stop the referee's count.
Grabbing Gunn, Bladewolf drags him back over to the announcer's table with JR and Jerry Lawler quickly moving to avoid getting in the way as Bladewolf rams Gunn's head off the table repeatedly.
Bladewolf then grabs Gunn and sends him back into the ring before sliding in after him. Gunn stumbles to his feet only to fall down onto the bottom rope. Bladewolf walks over and then pushes his boot down on Gunn's head, pressing his throat into the rope.
"Hey! hey! Bladewolf, let him up!" The referee called. "One! Two! Three! Four!"
Bladewolf released and backed off, watching Gunn clutch his throat in pain while coughing. He fights to his feet, still in pain, and turns around... INTO A GOOZLE! Bladewolf lifts Gunn up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
With the crowd cheering, Bladewolf does the cutthroat gesture before he grabs Gunn and scoops him up into a fireman's carry and then... HITS THE FURY OF THE WOLF! Pushing Gunn onto his back, he gets to a knee and places his hand on his chest for the cover! ONE! TWO! THREE! THE BLADEWOLF WINS!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet, flipping his hair out of his masked face. "Here is your winner... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
The referee hands Bladewolf his Tag Team title, and the Demon Wolf is about to go to a knee when suddenly the Corporate Ministry theme plays. Bladewolf looks up at the stage as the group make their way out, led by Shane McMahon, the Undertaker and Triple H. Bladewolf eyes them and knows they aren't here to talk, so he tosses his title to the side and gets ready for a fight.
Mideon, Viscera, and the Acolytes surround the ring with Bladewolf eyeing each of them, before he darts at Mideon first with a right hook that knocks him off the apron. He then strikes Viscera as Bradshaw and Faarooq enter the ring to attack but Bladewolf is quickly on them as he attempts to thwart the numbers game and so far is doing a pretty good job.
Triple H and Chyna slide into the ring with the Big Boss Man, but Boss Man eats a big boot from the Bladewolf, Triple H gets an uppercut and then Bladewolf grabs Chyna by her throat... WHEN THE UNDERTAKER STRIKES HIM FROM BEHIND WITH A STEEL CHAIR!
Dropping Chyna, Bladewolf turns to glare at his big brother... WHEN SHANE MCMAHON NAILS A LOW BLOW! Bladewolf falls to his knees and Undertaker rears the chair back and... BRINGS IT DOWN ON HIS SKULL!
Now defenceless, the Corporate Ministry pounces on Bladewolf like a pack of rabid dogs, taking turns in stomping away on him with Undertaker and Shane watching before Shane calls them off while the Undertaker grabs a microphone.
The Phenom gets to a knee and looks down at his little brother. "Now, little brother, don't take this too personally. You were just in the way. Did you really think I would ignore your own desire for the WWF Championship? You are a fool if you thought so, little brother. If anybody is going to take the title from Steve Austin, it shall be me. Not you. You will forever and always will be in my shadow as the Undertaker's little brother. And as for Kane..."
He looked up at the Titantron which showed Kane laid out backstage in the locker room.
"He won't be coming out here." The Undertaker said with a evil smirk as the rest of the Corporate Ministry laughed. Undertaker looks back down to his brother. "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay out of my business."
Dropping the microphone, Undertaker backed up as the Corporate Ministry continued their assault on the Bladewolf, with Triple H picking up the steel chair and driving it down into Bladewolf's body repeatedly. The Acolytes grab the steel steps and push them into the ring while Mideon grabs a table to slide into the ring.
Undertaker barks orders, and the Acolytes raise the steel steps... AND DRIVE THEM INTO THE BACK OF BLADEWOLF'S SKULL! HE IS BUSTED OPEN! THE BLADEWOLF IS BLEEDING FROM THE BACK OF HIS HEAD! They drop the stairs as Mideon sets up the table.
Undertaker grabs his little brother and pulls him to his feet then grabs him by his throat before lifting him up... AND PLANTS HIM THROUGH THE TABLE WITH A CHOKESLAM!
The crowd boos the group heavily as they stand over the fallen Bladewolf before taking their leave, leaving Bladewolf unconscious in the middle of the ring, with a puddle of blood underneath his head, and RAW is WAR goes to commercial break...
Bladewolf just got wrecked by his big brother. That's not going to go over well.
