I lift a large hunk of rock from the earth with my magical power and with a few swings of my fingers reminiscent of a certain biomechanical android bug man I cut the uneven shape into straight bricks.
With a wave of my hand, a large foundation is built, bricks cemented into place, said cement hardening almost instantly.
Rias and Mavis are sat on the hood of my car in the background, the latter staring down at the grass in front of her, a saddened frown on her face as Rias rubs her back.
She accepted Rias deal, wanting to pay me back for freeing her. The sole thing that she demanded in exchange for joining is for Rias to transfer her to me when, or if, I get my own set of Evil Pieces.
She was also fine with moving quite a few decades to the future, not wanting to 'look Yuri in the eyes' after having inadvertently killed his wife.
"Hey Rias, how big do you want this?" I call over my shoulder.
"Three floors." She replies. "The bottom with a few large rooms like a Livingroom, foyer, kitchen, and dining room, the second floor full of bedrooms, and the attic being storage.
I tilt my head to the side and let out a low hum. "Hn. Alright, I've got a vague idea now."
With a few more waves of my hands, grey stone bricks begin to get placed
Building is sooo much easier with magic.
A house of this scale would take months with the help of dozens of people... yet here I am, going to finish it in mere hours.
After like ten minutes the basic outline of the first floor is finished, after thirty, it's utterly finished and livable.
Two hours later, the second floor is finished, the attic following shortly behind.
All that remains is to furnish the house and do whatever Rias tells me to do to the outside... like making a pool... or hedge maze... or a fence.
I look over the shell of a house lacking doors, glass windows, and completely grey and colorless.
"Well, it's a start." I nod quietly with a small head tilt.
I look over to Rias and Mavis who is uncharacteristically pale, eyes rapidly skimming the manga Rias had apparently given he- oh my god... she let her read Fairy Tail.
She looks up as I approach. "is- Is this true?! We... we're nothing more than entertainment back where you come from?!"
"I think it's more along the lines of some people forming psychic connections with other worlds and deciding to take said world's history and write it down." I shrug. "Our own world is definitely entertainment elsewhere, but there are certainly going to be some inaccuracies, say for instance, Rias here was supposed to be the main girl for a perverted harem protagonist with some bullshit dragon power. Yet, instead, she was never able to reincarnate him, nor any of her other peerage back in our world. Some events are definitely similar, such as Rias being engaged to the same person both in real life and the story, but, instead of him being a mere two or three years older, he was now decades older."
"Take solace in the fact that the story you read will never be the same, you were supposed to be trapped in a Lacrima right about now... with a son you'd never know."
The girl just stares down at the manga and lets out a quiet sigh, shoulders slumping.
She takes the box set Rias had given her and goes back into the car, lying down in the back seat.
Ah, right, I should probably move that into the garage.
Pov: elsewhere.
Mavis...
Doesn't know how to feel.
It has been not even two days and her entire world was shaken not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times.
First... she k-killed Rita.
She knows that it wasn't truly her fault, but the curse she was afflicted by, but... she can't help but feel responsible. If she didn't exist, Rita would still be alive.
Next, some random guy comes up and removes the curse... with just like... a wave of his hand.
Then, he reveals he's not human, that he didn't come from this dimension, that he wanted her as a follower, and that they are going eighty years into the future.
Next... it was revealed that her entire world... her everything... her suffering, her pain, the death of her parents was shown to who knows how many people.
Well, rather, not HER pain exactly, as she broke free of her curse, but another Mavis who apparently became the sweetheart of Zeref himself?! Ugh!
She remembers those truly hateful things he said to her...
And...
It's sad that she can actually see herself falling for him after years of wandering and trying to kill herself.
To find the one person she could touch without worrying about them dying.
She would have gone down a dark path if Abel and Rias hadn't arrived.
All the shock, has left her a little numb.
Normally she'd be ecstatic to see magic of the scale Abel was using to build their new home on a cliff, overlooking the city of Magnolia, or just be admiring the view of the city that she helped save and create... but... she just feels hollow.
What does she want to do with her life now?
Fairy tail itself will be facing numerous challenges, but... she truly has no right to be acknowledged by them.
She should help them... she needs to help them, but it won't be for recognition. If she has her way, the guild will simply forget about her. A monster who killed a weakened woman after childbirth.
But what after Fairy Tail?
She's heard a lot about devils from Rias, and she's going to live a long time now.
Not as long as she would have with the curse of contradiction, mind you, but still a considerable time. Centuries. Millenniums.
Thousands upon thousands of years.
A race where five hundred is considered young... and a five hundred year gap between siblings is also quite normal.
What can she do with all the newfound time she has?
What sort of hobby should she pick up?
She walks through the halls of the recently created building, gazing over the plastered walls, still mildly in awe at the rows upon rows of tightly packed runic enchantments and wards placed just underneath. That power is far beyond anything she has ever seen.
It wouldn't be strange to call this sole building the most well-protected place in all of Fiore.
Is this the level of mages from their previous world? In that case, everyone in Earthland is an utter joke in comparison, only the 'Black Wizard Zeref' himself is capable of being compared to such a talented wizard and he has had centuries to learn and an immortal body to draw upon to power his spellcasting.
The blonde shakes her head and slowly walks down the stairs into the foyer, then turns and walks towards the kitchen.
She freezes as she steps inside, a scarlet blush appearing on her face as she sees the two occupants already there.
The first, her 'boss', the person who turned her into a devil- which is something completely uncanny and wild that she is still struggling to come to terms with.
Rias is completely nude barring a single pair of panties, she looks tired, blearily rubbing an eye as her 'Queen', the man who saved them both, stands in front of the stove, shirtless in nothing but sweatpants, showing off his muscular figure.
Spoiler
The first guild master of fairy tail looks away. "W-WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!"
"I'm not." Abel shrugs.
"Y-You should put on a shirt! It's indecent!" She exclaims.
"I'm... wearing more than I would at a pool?" The presumably teen devil mutters. "Swim trunks normally cut off at or above the knees.
"I-I wasn't talking about you!" The blonde stutters as she lifts an accusing finger to the red head. "W-What if someone comes in and sees you like that?!"
"Oh, nobody will." Rias waves off. "Abel set up numerous wards around the premises. If anyone approaches, I'll know and can simply use magic to conjure clothing."
"Besides." Abel notes as he walks to the sole large window in the kitchen. "There's basically nothing on the other side of this window."
He opens the blinds to reveal an awe inspiring view, the house is precariously placed right on the edge of the cliff, unbothered by the threat of landslides or falling off thanks to numerous enchantments.
In the distance, over a few rolling tree-covered hills is a large city next to a lake.
"I mean, damn, look at this view th-"
He blinks slowly. "Huh..."
The blonde walks over, dragging her eyes off the white haired teen's form. "W-Wait... is that- Phantom Lord's guild building?! From the book!"
"Manga." Rias corrects.
"Ah. Phantom Lord Arc already... Hey, Rias. This is like the only chance to get Juvia before she falls for a man who doesn't love her."
The girl lets out a long sigh. "Fine. Go. I can finish up breakfast. I imagine that Mavis here would want you to save her guild."
"Right."
He slips on a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants then opens the window, climbing out and diving off the cliff.
Twelve large black bat wings appear on his back as he rapidly disappears into the distance.
As a large laser cannon fires a tremendous beam, I swoop down and hold out a hand, a tremendous barrier magic spell appearing behind me as Erza tries to protect her friends and guild hall.
I hold out a single hand. An attack on this caliber is... probably around the upper reaches of High Class should a high class devil put their all into it. It could- and would have- destroyed a large part of the city if it had been aimed right, but it wouldn't just erase it all like an ultimate class attack would.
The wave washes over my arm as I casually block the attack, after around twenty seconds it begins to die down.
"Are you finished?" I eventually call out into the eerie silence that echoes out after the attack ends, making sure my voice is projected through the use of magic.
I don't get a reply for a moment, but eventually a voice speaks out from the giant mech, echoing through the air, magnified with magic. "Who are you?!"
"Oh, I nobody special... just a man who is mildly irritated that you pointed that shoddy cannon at my home atop the mountain back there." I gesture behind me with a lazy smirk.
"You dare challenge the might of the greatest guild in Fiore?" The annoying voice questions.
"Well, I just blocked your cannon there with my bare hand... with no spells... so, I'd like to say... 'yeah. I am'?" I watch as numerous specters spew from the castle upon the large mechanical walker's back, then let out a small sigh.
With a single flap of my wings I blast forwards, a brief aura of energy surrounding me as I crash headfirst into the stone wall of the guild hall... and pass right through it.
'hm... if I were Juvia... where would I be?'
"…"
Just detect the largest magical signatures and go from there.
I zoom through the hallway, eventually stopping as I find... nothing?!
"I know you're there, human." I frown, eyes scanning my surroundings.
'Ah. Couldn't that air wizard turn into wind?'
I duck back abruptly, avoiding two magic circles the appear above me, then with a single kick, I launch the huge man that appears behind me through the stone wall to my left.
"…"
"Ah shit. I should have ask him where the guild master is... ah well."
Fire bitch is probably in the cannon room... that humongous near ultimate class magical aura is probably Jose... so that means this next spot if a fifty-fifty to be either Juvia or that creepy earth frenchman.
Ah well. Let's flip that coin!
I zoom through the halls, coming to a simple door...
I open it seeing a pink and fairly girly room.
Bingo.
A blue haired woman sits in front of a large dresser with a mirror, she seems to be curling her hair.
Spoiler
She looks over, eyes widening as I offer a small wave and a charming smile that seems almost as if it is in my very blood. "Hello... would you happen to know where your guild master is? I wish to have words?"
Her cheeks tint red as I float closer.
"M-Master Jose... s-should be in the main hall... d-down the hall." She begins.
I nod my head slowly and turn, beginning to float forwards as Juvia quietly whispers to herself.
I pause at the doorway for a moment, giving her more that enough time to-
She seems to come to a decision to kidnap me. Thinking on it a bit more, this was a bit weird of her to do to Grey... like... what was her plan? to rape him or something? "JUVIA MUST HAVE HIM! WATER LOCK!"
I am surrounded by water on all sides... I stroke my chin for a moment, then turn, and fly forwards, the sphere popping like a bubble as I stop just in front of her, she looks up at me as I slowly land, holding out a hand and cupping her cheek as I gently rub my thumb along her face.
She shivers at my touch as I give her a small smile. "You must have me, hm?"
She begins breathing heavily as I continue speaking, my deep melodious voice seeming to work her up into a tizzy. "Normally, I would be all for that. To be loved by a dazzling beauty like yourself... that is the dream of every man, and I am no exception. However... I am a bit tight on time at the moment, so perhaps we could meet again, hm?"
I turn pointing a finger at the wall.
*BOOM*
A perfect circular hole is blown out of the guild building as I gesture to a faraway mountain top, you can just barely make out the angular features of a large stone building overlooking the cliffside. "I live there if you wish to come seek me out."
I turn back to her, gently taking her hand and kissing her knuckle. "We will meet again, I suppose... as at the moment, I need to pay your guild master a... beating. Yes. I need to go pay him a beating."
She lets out a quiet squeal as I float back, shooting her a charming smile as I look over her hair for a moment. She hadn't completed her curls yet, so I have reason to say this. "Oh, and personally, I believe that letting your hair fall naturally looks better. The curls do nothing more but disguise your already indescribable natural beauty."
"JUVIA WILL NEVER CURL HER HAIR AGAIN!" She exclaims as with a single flap of my wings... I fly up through the hole I made, now fully planning on seeking out the phantom lord guild leader.
I float through the air and promptly crash through the stone wall, coming into a large throne room.
I spy a man sitting upon the large chair towards the back of the room, a bored frown on my face. "So... you must be Jose Porla... Not impressed."
"I am Jose Porla of the ten wizard Saints... it would be wise to show me the respect-"
"You deserve?" I cut in with an amused smirk. "Alright. I'll give you the respect you deserve... none. Here you are, one of the ten strongest wizards in Fiore, yet you have an inferiority complex. You let your stupid pride ruin your guild which has resolutely held the second place ranking for the past half a century. All that effort, Time, and blood your family put into this guild has been singlehandedly wasted... you didn't think that the Magic Council would really let you continue to exist as a light guild after today? Your wizard saint title will be revoked, and you and your 'precious' guild of nothing more than thugs that you failed to cultivate into their strongest forms will be hunted like the animals you are."
"You failed." I blandly point out. "After everything you did. All of this effort. You tripped and faceplanted not even close to the finish line... I know it might sound a little rich coming from me, but you are an absolute manchild. One who had everything, yet wanted and wanted more. Crying and stomping his feet when the world said he couldn't have it. You should thank your lucky stars that the magic council doesn't consider myself, nor dark wizards a part of their 'wizard saints', as frankly? You wouldn't have even made the top ten anyways."
I lift a sole finger, light and sheer darkness coils around the digit, clacking together at the tip, creating a shower of sparks that sizzle on the floor.
I suddenly flick my arm upwards-
*BOOOOOOOM*
The world is blinding for a moment, waves of power washing outwards from me...
Everything above us is completely vaporized.
The roof, the four little towers in the four corners of this building a fair distance away, hell, I have split the sky itself. Clouds rush in opposite directions, having just been pierced by my magic as I slowly level a finger at the shadow wizard, who seemed fine with letting me monologue beforehand... now immensely on guard, his eyes narrowed, the armrest of his throne creaking ominously as he clenches his fists.
"I am giving you this one. Sole. Opportunity. Give up. Take your guild and fuck off." I wave my hand, the wall beside us being blown out with telekinetic force. "Fuck off back to where you came from. Because if you continue doing what you are doing... if you continue to pollute one of the only nice vistas in my house with your shitty mecha... if you don't back down like a good little boy who has bitten off more than he can chew."
My expression falls, my red eyes narrowing as my voice loses its peppiness and charm. "I will kill you."
I fold my arms behind my back, looking over the man before me. "So? What's your decision?"
His magic explodes around him as he rises to his feet. He takes a deep breath, then snuffs it out.
"Fine. You win. I concede this day." He glares.
"Good. In which case... I believe I am no longer needed here... but believe me, I will be watching."
With a flap of my twelve wings I take off into the sky.
"Ugh. This is fucking annoying! Why didn't I think of laying wiring before I put the plaster on?!" I lowly growl.
"I don't know." Rias shrugs.
Mavis looks confused, looking between the topless Rias and my shirtless body as I try to hang up a flat screen tv.
It has been a long day, but finally, after hours of work, I seem to have finally giving our new abode electricity!
Almighty light switches! A refrigerator! Even this dazzling flatscreen tv.
"WHY DO YOU STILL NOT HAVE ANY CLOTHES ON?!" Mavis questions.
"Easy access for groping." I shrug.
"We do have clothes on... i am wearing panties and stockings... and he is wearing sweatpants." Rias announces with a shrug of her own. "Besides... Sometimes I just want to lick his abs~."
I whirl around, pointing an accusing finger at the redhead. "You fucking degenerate!"
She smiles slightly, her eyebrows raising. "Perhaps... but I will fully and whole heartedly admit... hearing you moan my name last night was quite... exhilarating."
Mavis is beat red at this point and even my cheeks and tinted slightly.
I hold my hand downwards, causing a cable to slowly rise, I quick plug them into the Tv and float down. "Alright. Should be good."
I land on the floor, then walk over to the large L shaped leather couch that Rias had assembled while I was fretting over electrical work- gonna be honest, I sort of just cheated a lot with enchantment magic.
I take a seat beside Rias, wrapping an arm around her bare shoulders, cupping a breast as I pull her close, we share a quick kiss that causes Mavis to squirm slightly, a blush on her face.
I lean forwards slightly, looking to Rias, thinking back to something she told me just a few minutes earlier. "Let me get this straight... you haven't played this before?"
"Nope."
"Never?" I question.
"Not at all." She shakes her head. "Honestly... I never even heard of it before you told me to pick it up."
"You have NEVER heard of Sly Cooper?! It's a total classic!"
"There were other things to play in the underworld." She replies with a small pout.
"Ugh. And you claim to be a gamer... with your lack of culture, soul, and a unnatural ability to get absolutely demolished by me in any video game we play."
"Any video game we play?! Motherfucker! you know that was only Halo... and it was because you're a little bitch when it comes to that game!"
"Doubt. There's no way. I don't believe in things I haven't seen with my own two eyes." I snort.
She pouts at me, her eyes narrowing. "Then you must not believe in..."
She seems to wrack her brain for a moment, trying to find some sort of snappy comeback, but eventually just settles for pointing an accusing finger at me and saying. "If you keep sassing me, I'll make good on my threat to breed you."
"Oh? Even with Mavis here." I ask with a raised eyebrow.
"She can watch or even join in if she wants to. I don't care." Rias states, causing the blonde to let out a small 'eep.'
"Awww. Love you too." I smile as I plant a quick kiss on her lips, continuing to shamelessly grope her.
"Can you turn on the Playstation Two already?!" The girl frowns, a small pout on her face. "Stop bullying Mavis by doing lewd acts to me! I know you're doing it on purpose."
"Oop- my bad. Forgot. I was just so entranced by your eyes~" I snort as I hold a hand forwards and with a curl of my finger there's a small click.
"My eyes are not on my chest." She deadpans.
The Tv turns on via telekinesis as well.
As there's a quiet 'bwuuum' sound as the game seems to load, instantly Mavis is entranced, her eyebrows raise slightly. After a moment, she even seems to forget about Rias and Myself.
Rias and I share a slightly amused glance.
"Hey... Mavis... would you like to play?" I question.
"H-Huh?" The girl asks looking over, her hollow green eyes filled with wonder.
For the first time since we arrived to our new home, she has a little spark of anything other than crippling depression... and, after a short glance from Rias, we both decide we want to nourish that spark.
"Yeah." Rias agrees. "I've played dozens of games before... but this would be your very first time seeing a Tv, let alone playing a video game... would you like to?"
"U-Uh... I don't know." The girl whispers. "What if... what If I'm not good at it?"
"Come on." I smile. "It's a totally new experience... think of it like a book... but you control the characters in it."
Rias hand the controller to me and I offer it to the blonde who is sitting a fair distance away on the other side of the couch.
Her eyes flick from the controller in my hand, following the cord all the way across the room to the playstation itself, she then glances upwards to the Tv, a quiet jazzy tune coming from the speakers.
I don't float the controller from my grasp like I very well could, purely because I want her to sit a little bit closer.
She slowly creeps along the couch, till she is sitting relatively close by, then takes the controller. "How do I..."
I lean over, she tries to not blush at my shirtless chest nearing her face as I gesture to the buttons. "Well, you have X, Square, Circle, and Triangle here, your Right Analogue Stick, your R1, and R2 buttons... the left Analogue Stick, Dpad, then L1 and L2. Here in the center, you have your start and select buttons."
She looks up to the Tv, then looks down back at the controller and pushes the start button.
"SLY!"
She flinches back, eyes filling with wonder.
"Come in!"
"SLLLLYYYY?! Do you read me?!"
"Yeah. I read you. Loud and... Very loud."
"Woah..." She whispers, causing me to look over to Rias with a small smirk.
I watch the girl with long blonde hair leap up and down, a bright smile on her face as for the moment it seems I have succeeded in nudging aside her sadness. "THAT WAS AMAZING!"
Spoiler
A small smile rests on my lips as Rias casts a small smirk my way.
"I... I've never felt this way before." The green-eyed girl whispers, looking to her quivering hands.
"Did we just ruin books for you?"
"NO!" She exclaims, turning to face us as she sounds a little horrified. "Books are completely different! It's like comparing a book to a theatrical play! Both tell a story, but they are VASTLY different!"
It was cute watching her get so into the game.
"Well, since you've beat that... why not another?" I hum, a small smile on my face as I get up, walking to a nearby shelf that Rias had also built. "Let's see here... Spyro the dragon? Crash Bandicoot? Both are true classics. Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank- I've played a few of those, but it was really fun. You've got Sly Cooper Two and Three here."
"THERE ARE SEQUELS?!" Mavis exclaims.
"There was also a fourth one, but that came out in two thousand and thirteen... a good five years after we left. So, while we could probably get our hands on it, it'll be a bit of a trip... and I'd like for us to have other things on the list to grab, as a round-trip is sort of strenuous for me."
"Y'know... a bit strange how some animes and manga had accelerated productions, in that place... and games didn't."
"Devils were more interested in stories." Rias shrugs.
"Yeah, but, like... Fairy Tail should have finished in like... twenty seventeen... yet we got the complete series in two thousand and eight... just a mere two years after its was supposed to be created."
"You don't talk about your last life that much, Abel." Rias mutters. "What was it like?"
"Well, I mean, PlayStation five existed. I died some around twenty... twenty four? Ish? It wasn't that much fun. I'm like ninety nine percent sure the supernatural didn't exist. There was a pandemic that raged starting sometime in twenty nineteen, but the news stopped covering it after like a year or so, so I mean, if my last world was some sort of dystopian anime prelude, the government totally did it. It's always the government. They put chemicals in the water to turn the frickin frogs gay."
"R-Really?"
"No. I'm pulling your leg." I roll my eyes. "The pandemic was real, but nobody really talked about it after around two or so years. It sort of faded from existence as war after war suddenly popped up. It was honestly looking like world war three was about to start by the time I woke up in your shitty hentai AU world."
"Regardless, I don't really like thinking about that place... I just want to leave it in the past, thus I believe I'll refrain from speaking about it anymore." I note as I pull the small cd-like case from the wall. "Hm... how about Spyro the Dragon? It's older than Sly cooper, yet it is a classic... I'd like for you to play the older games first, as it's quite similar to getting a sandwich... if you spent all of your life eating decadent and extremely expensive sandwiches... wouldn't a cheaper sandwich taste worse?"
"Ah. I've played that. He's right. The first three Spyro games are indeed classics." Rias nods slowly. "Crash Bandicoot is another."
"Shame that most things post Spyro Year of the Dragon was sort of bad... the new trilogy was pretty interesting though."
"There was a new trilogy?!" Rias gasps. "DAMN IT! How did I miss that!?"
"Think lord of the rings... meets star wars... meets Devil May Cry."
"I... don't think that last one was very popular in the underworld." Rias weakly mutters.
"Ugh. Devils with their simultaneously over inflated and fragile egos... Man, good thing we didn't come across the youngest Lucifer descendant. Half devil, white hair, blue eyes, both with a name starting with V, both with a cool and collected personality that counteracts the protagonist's goofy nature... both with a power that is the conceptual opposite of their rival who is typically clad in red, doubling power, to dividing power. Conceptually splitting anything, to conceptually fusing things..." I shoot Rias an impish grin as I grab eject the disk already in the PlayStation and replace it with the first Spyro game. "I totally would have started Calling my dear cousin, Vali Lucifer 'Vergil' just for the fun of it."
I fold my hands behind my head and walk back after putting the original Sly Cooper disk back up. "Though, knowing our last world... it's likely that his father or another person within the old satan faction had the half human executed as an infant."
I take my place in between Mavis who is still sat an armlength away and Rias whom I pull closer with a small grin.
"Probably." Rias nods. "Ugh. And I thought MY government was archaic... learning about the Old Satan Faction? Not pretty."
"I don't even want to know. They were pretty messed up in the Original timeline. Tearing the subspecies holy grail out of some dhampir girl in order to make Phenex clones and give Trihexa- which is basically the entire reason HE with a capital H died in the great war-"
"Wait... What?" Rias whispers.
"Oh yeah, big G died. That's sort of an international secret that the church would assassinate to keep. Good luck. You're on a list now... anyways He was weakened sealing what is basically chaos and evil incarnate, yeah, they apparently used the grail to copy your other self's pawn's Boosted Gear... so imagine Evil Big G... Able to replicate infinite boosted gear balance breakers."
"Shit." She whispers. "That is- wait... the Grail can copy longinus?!"
"And revive supposedly dead people, yes." I nod once. "I may not know a lot of lore, but I did take a brief look over the longini and their abilities. Did you know that the True Longinus was wielded by a human supremacist who wanted to bring the dragon of dreams to earth?"
"..." She gives me a look that is somewhere between confusion, shock, and genuine disgust. "Ugh. Now... honestly, I sort of don't even want to go back home. Even to this 'canon' version you speak of."
"It could be worse... a bunch of robot people could show up and one shot great red, your time traveling children from the future could show up and most of the entire biblical pantheon has to seal themselves in a pocket dimension to fight Trihexa... real shame about Serafall, though... she never got to bang her little sister." I sigh dramatically.
We both have our attentions drawn to the Tv as Mavis begins playing this new game, her moves were a bit sloppy beforehand- as she was carefully listening to myself and Rias talk, but now that we're silent, she can focus all of her attention on the game.
I think... Rias and I might have made a mistake... a new monster of gaming has been created. but... i like it more than the depressed girl she was before.
And here's a chapter that's been about half done in my docs for like... a few months.
